The space is cozy and inviting where the windows open fully to allow for fresh air and natural light to come in. On one side of the café, there is a brick wall which gives the space character. There is plenty of seating throughout the space to enjoy your treats and drinks. The space is also accessible although there is a step you have to manage before entering. I stopped by Calmo during their soft opening week. Currently, during their soft opening, they operate from 8am to 4pm. I arrived right when they opened on a Friday morning. The side windows of the café were all open, allowing for the morning breeze to come through. At the counter, a display of freshly baked pastries were on display. Menu wise, for drinks, they have your standard espresso based drinks as well as several milk alternatives to choose from (they even have a Calmo milk blend). They also have some specialty drinks like different flavoured Americanos and matchas as well as iced tea/sodas. In regards to their baked goods, all their goodies are made in house. They have scones, brownies, tiramisu (which is already premade) as well as pies. I opted to grab a cortado and a PB&J scone to dine there. My order was made at a reasonable time and the scone was a good portion for breakfast. My cortado was made well. The space was chill and relaxing, with the slight gentle morning breeze whispering through the space. Overall, a cute new bakery and café near Ossington and Dundas! Love the unique bakery items and the overall casual and relaxed vibe of the place. Would love to see what wine offerings they will have once they have their grand opening! Will definitely return when I am in the area.

Menu wise, they offer your usual espresso based drinks (Americano, cappuccino, drip, tea, cafe au lait). Pastries wise there is a full case of homemade pastries for you to choose from - think caneles, cookies, quiches, madeleines, etc. They also have sandwiches for lunch as well. They even have a deal where you can get a 12oz drip coffee and 3 mini pastries for $6! I stopped by Chez Odile on a weekday afternoon looking for some caffeine. Ordered an iced Americano and a canele as it looked too good to resist. My drink was made quickly and tasted great. The canele was delicious! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - they definitely do know how to make great French baked goods. I tried their bestseller/one of their most popular drinks, which is the iced military matcha but I preferred their strawberry matcha! I also tried their raspberry lemonade which to my surprise tasted more like a mocktail made with sparkling water and I didn't really find the "lemonade" taste there, so it wasn't what I expected. It was still good regardless. Staff was very nice. I found the iced Toronto Fog okay. I also tried some of their pastries and really enjoyed that crunch and freshness of their almond croissant. I love that they've got both a selection of sweet and savoury items to choose from, as well as lots of options to go. The sundried tomato savoury makes a great treat and you can ask them to warm it for you. I love the design and space, and although it's got limited seating (which makes sense since it's in a corporate building and I find most people just come to grab and go), I really enjoyed this place and would come back if I'm ever in the area.

I tried their strawberry iced matcha and the military iced latte and trust me when I say the military latte was the best drink I have had in a very long time. The coffee was smooth and rich yet it wasn't too sugary which was perfect! And the matcha? 10/10. Again, not overly sweet and you can taste the matcha in it. You can sit and work here as well which is an added plus!

Service was very quick and polite! They warmed up the scones for us, gave us utensils for each food item, and brought the items to where we sat. Two scones and a latte was a very filling breakfast for me! Everything was delicious. The scones were warm and came with either a pat of butter or cream on the side depending on if it's savory or sweet. I especially liked the tiramisu sandwich and wished I had gotten one for myself. It wasn't too overly sweet. The lattes came with cute latte art! The hojicha was delicious with a nice warmth and depth to it. This was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while.

There are frozen scones which you can buy to take home as the scones sold out around 4:30pm on a Saturday so make sure to go early in the day. Of interest is that they offer picnic sets for rental including the picnic basket, dishes and blanket which I found to be perfect for that picnic photo day. I wondered if this place might actually be better known for food or matcha, based on what I've seen in other reviews - the coffee was not good. The espresso beans seemed to be over-roasted, which were quite bitter for our liking as opposed to something more subtly chocolatey and nutty. My iced latte also got watery pretty quickly as the ice melted it seemed, and ended up tasting more like the kind of latte you'd get from a fast-food chain (or the espresso shot was way too long). A bit of a letdown, especially since the two fairly small drinks came to about $18. The space itself is cozy, and I really like the vinyl collection (which earned the 2 stars). That said, the records are noticeably pricey compared to typical vinyl shops like Sonic Boom. A lot of them -- even ones with just Side A -- were priced at $55 and up. I didn't cross-check the barcodes on Discogs, but while I love the curation (especially the focus on Japanese jazz and city pop -- really cool stuff), I find it hard to believe all of them are rare pressings worthy of those $55-to-several-hundred-dollar price tags. Both mousses were delicate and not too sweet, but I got nothing from the outer pink layer. Their selection is an amazing array of standard Western European pastries and desserts.
