Cute little upstairs shop. There is enough room to accomodate maybe 10 people nicely. I do not recommend if you plan to have lengthy loud convos. The place looks like its meant more for coffee shop music and study sessions. There is food but they do have desserts and pastries.

I was skeptical at first with this oddly named coffee shop but when I walked into the neatly decorated cafe I was pleasantly surprised with its very well made coffee. The staff were all very nice and welcome dogs in the cafe. They took turns saying hi to my cousins dog and made him feel loved. Back to their coffee; I had an americano and it was well balanced, smooth and barely bitter. It was nutty, and toffee hinted.

I was in the area after having finished lunch with my family so I decided to head upstairs to Space Coffee and check it out. You have to go up a long flight of narrow stairs, which was a little troublesome when we were leaving because the people downstairs had to wait their turn to come to since it's a one way only street. When you reach upstairs, you come to a small, quaint, and very home-y cafe, perfect for a sit down and study or catch up with friends. The design and aesthetic is very minimal with unique decor pieces such as flower pillows! I decided to try out their MATCHA which comes unsweetened and is very milky, making it feel quite heavy. I personally love my matcha strong and sweetened so this wasn't really for me but I'm intrigued to try their other menu items. They also serve up a variety of pastry items, including egg tarts! Beverage prices are average but I found the baked items to be quite pricey. Bonus: order dine-in for complimentary latte art. The service was average, nothing to rave or complain about. I do wish they offered more help with the menu though to introduce their recommendations. The place was very clean and I even saw one of the staff members vacuuming at one point.

Lumiere Patisserie

Lumière Pâtisserie is a Thornhill gem--proof that you don't have to go downtown for great pastries…read more Yes, it's tucked into a suburban plaza off a parking lot, but inside it's light-filled, calm, and smells like heaven. The service is consistently warm, and the pastry case is hard to resist. We've tried many of their cakes, and the blackcurrant queen cake is hands down our favorite--tart, elegant, and just sweet enough. Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. Still, this is the kind of place that keeps regulars coming back. We're definitely among them.

The espresso here is excellent - well-bodied in flavour, medium roast (I think?), and pairs nicely with the sweetness of the cakes & pastries. There's also a wide selection of small personal cakes to choose from - just make sure you come early since they do sell out! We shared the cream & crumb cheesecake (simple, classic, and incredibly creamy!) and tiramichoux (think a tiramisu profiterole - such a fun twist!). Looking forward to my next visit already :)

Tim Hortons is a Canadian chain specializing in both coffee and baked goods, founded by hockey player Tim Horton and businessman Ron Joyce in 1964. While I don't go for the coffee, every now when visiting Canada, I'll stop by a Tim Hortons for hot chocolate and a donut. A few days ago when I was visiting Toronto, I met up with a cousin at the Tim Hortons at the Promenade in Thornhill, and while she got a coffee and a donut, I enjoyed a hot chocolate and a donut. We had the opportunity to order through a kiosk or in person, and we opted for an in-person order which included a discount through the app. The drinks and donuts were ready rather quickly, and while there was limited seating in the Tim Hortons itself, we sat in the food court area just outside of the Tim Hortons. The staff were nice and seemed to know what they were doing. The hot chocolate was tasty and chocolatey while the donut (a Chocolate Dip Donut) had a thicker dip than I am used to, but it was delicious! This particular location is open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, and there is no drive-through option as it is in a food court of a mall. On the website (https://www.timhortons.ca), you can find menus, locations, catering and franchisee options, delivery, and promotions. Such promotions include Tims x Reese's, where you can get a Peanut Butter Chocolate Iced Capp or any of their other products made with Reese's. Plus, there are items with Fall flavors like Pumpkin Spice Iced Capp, Pumpkin Spice Donut, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Spice Muffin, and Pumpkin Spice Iced Latte. There are also new Matcha Lattes. If ordering on the app, you can also order hockey trading cards and/or a binder. Feel free to join Tim's Rewards at https://www.timhortons.com/timsrewards, where you can earn points for purchases to redeem for free items, score exclusive offers, skip the line and order ahead, sweepstakes to win, and free birthday treat. A great coffee shop to work from, grab a drink or have a full meal with wine!…read more Came on a weekday to snag a table to do some work and it was quiet but had a few other tables also with laptops. There aren't a lot of tables with plugs so be aware of that before coming. I got the pistachio latte which was recommended by the staff here and they were onto something! It's delicious, creamy, and nutty all in one, while also still giving me that caffeine hit. Staff here were friendly. Ambiance was beautiful. Love that they are a half cafe vibe but also serve a full menu of food and even have wine and cocktails. Parking is a bit tricky, I didn't know where to park since it was on a main road and had nowhere to turn into when you're facing the restaurant. Would love to try their other items someday. Saw that they have delicious looking and sounding sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas and more. Definitely check this spot out!

The interior is sleek and modern and the staff are friendly but as other reviews mentioned can be a little forgetful ... sometimes we had to remind them more than once of a drink or a small request. However the staff are very sweet and always seem to be excited about their food and drinks and love talking about anything new on their menu ... really enjoyed the croissants that comes with pistachio, chocolate, and I believe Nutella, and that they can make immediately for you if they've run out of a certain flavor. They have pastries, wine, a big coffee menu, sandwiches, and pasta. There's some street parking and if you don't mind walking across the street there's plenty of spots at Bayview Mall. They also have free underground parking but it's a bit of a guessing game to get to the first time ... if you go behind their building parallel to Sheppard is Thomas Clark Way. If you're facing north towards their building on Thomas Clark Way then the parking driveway is part of the building to the left of the church, the parking garage door is actually perpendicular to Thomas Clark Way. There's a few parking areas on that road so it's hard to find the first time but once you get it then it's really convenient especially in the winter - the restaurant is right there. Highly recommended for the great staff and casual yet elegant vibe.

The…read moreratings were high, the photos looked great, and I figured it'd be a safe bet -- so I brought my partner along expecting solid coffee. After trying my vanilla iced latte and my partner's macchiato... I wondered if this place might actually be better known for food or matcha, based on what I've seen in other reviews - the coffee was not good. The espresso beans seemed to be over-roasted, which were quite bitter for our liking as opposed to something more subtly chocolatey and nutty. My iced latte also got watery pretty quickly as the ice melted it seemed, and ended up tasting more like the kind of latte you'd get from a fast-food chain (or the espresso shot was way too long). A bit of a letdown, especially since the two fairly small drinks came to about $18. The space itself is cozy, and I really like the vinyl collection (which earned the 2 stars). That said, the records are noticeably pricey compared to typical vinyl shops like Sonic Boom. A lot of them -- even ones with just Side A -- were priced at $55 and up. I didn't cross-check the barcodes on Discogs, but while I love the curation (especially the focus on Japanese jazz and city pop -- really cool stuff), I find it hard to believe all of them are rare pressings worthy of those $55-to-several-hundred-dollar price tags. As an avid collector myself, I wouldn't come here to buy the records. Service was friendly.

They have a display of records that are available for purchase as well. The atmosphere was very laid back and pleasant to spend some time in your day to work or relax. I had a matcha latte with almond milk this time and I was pleasantly surprised, a perfect level of sweetness, and not to mention the foam! I had no idea this was possible with almond milk! I'll definitely be back to try their coffee and a bite.
