Cinnamon roll
Doris L.

I guess I would come back for the back patio and that's it? My Americano was $4.50 + tax It's a lighter roast than I'm used to (closer to a NEO, I prefer the darker ones like SUD, Manic, Pilot, etc) probably won't come back for coffee. cinnamon roll $7.5+ tax, the most I've ever paid for ever in NYC, SF or here .... This is a dense dough, is it a sourdough? It's a good one if you prefer dense ones. I did enjoy this. Not too sweet like some other ones out there. Looking at the croissant I'm just not interested. I rather go to Emmer, Larry's for croissant. You can tell it's not the good butter in the dough. The communal table vibe at noon today were all brunettes mostly with dark rimmed plastic glasses and their laptop. Don't think they were one study group, they just look all similar and mostly long hair.

If you want to escape the urbane landscape of Toronto and sip amazing coffee amongst cute little sparrows, this is the cafe to go to. We felt like we were in a remote garden drinking our worries away. The ambience was so beautiful, clean and chic. The service was a bit slow though, given the rush and the big line waiting outside. We were still able to find a table and had cute little sparrows chirping and waiting for us to drop food crumbs. The garden upstairs is especially very beautiful. They even have a makeshift swing to add to the aesthetic. We ordered a Cortado, a vanilla latte and a pistachio croissant. The croissant was out of this world. It came filled with pistachio cream and topped with white chocolate and pistachio chocolate. Soooo good! I would totally visit this place the next time I am in Toronto.

The cinnamon roll which was priced at $8.48 (tax included) was particularly dry and the frosting was mediocre.

Drink quality: 3.2/5 Pastry selection: 3.9/5 Pastry quality: 2.6/5 Price: 2.8/5 (Cinnamon roll: $8.48 including tax; with coffee: $14.18) Atmosphere: 4.2/5 Service: 3.9/5 Cleanliness: 3.8/5 Location: 4.0/5 This café has a charming Old Hollywood vibe and a cozy aesthetic, but it's not particularly comfortable. The seating is worn and uncomfortable, and there's no air conditioning - just a single electric fan that only partially cools the space. On a warm summer day, it can feel quite hot inside. Service was polite but felt rushed and impersonal. Pricing is on the higher side. The cinnamon roll, priced at $8.48 with tax, was noticeably dry. The icing was overly sweet and lacked creativity or flavor balance. Overall, a visually appealing space but a disappointing experience in terms of comfort, service, and food quality.

Café 23 is in a great location and easily has one of the most gorgeous outdoor spaces I've ever seen for a small cafe. The three levels of working space were really convenient and the lush green atmosphere was so relaxing. My drink (a coffee orange creamsicle) was decadent, but honestly had too much going on for what I was expecting. I think I wanted more coffee. Also, they have Montreal bagels and other baked goods! The barista was so sweet and gave us some nut butter to try with our bread. Yum. A few notes - the wifi doesn't reach out in the garden super well, and you can't use your laptop in the main area of the cafe (or so I thought - I saw people using their laptops). Finally in the room behind the bar there apparently is no way for the staff to adjust the mini split. It was so freezing outside that day and the cold air blasting on us inside (and the blasting music) was a terrible combination terrible for working. But otherwise this is a gorgeous cafe with friendly staff and pretty good food and drinks!

If this cafe was a person it would be that effortlessly cool and stylish friend that hosts dinner parties in their maximalist artsy loft with artisinal coffee and bread. Decor? Instagram worthy. Seasonal coffee flavors? Unique and actually flavorful. Garden two tiered back patio? Novel worthy. Shoutout to the lavender, honey, and smoked rosemary latte- best seasonal coffee flavor I've had it ages - get it hot. The cardamom rose was a great runner up with actually bold spice. (I went here twice in one day). The food I ordered - bagel with nut butter and frittata sandwich - was only ok, so focus on the coffee here. Logistics: - indoor and outdoor seating (in the back) - limited street parking nearby but transit accessible

Definitely one of the more aesthetic cafes in the city. There are lots of plants, candles and vintage artwork and decorations. There is a no laptop policy on weekends in the front room which is a nice touch. Unfortunately the coffee and the baked goods are more expensive than most of the other cafes I've been to. They have a pretty good selection of pastries and bagels as well as decaf versions of all their coffee drinks. Wi-Fi is a little bit spotty and there is no service on the upstairs patio. The cafe can get extremely busy on weekends. There is only one washroom on the ground floor. Lots of opportunities to take nice photos here but I wouldn't work here unless it's a quieter weekday.

This is a lovely cafe with great ambiance and decor and a special back garden patio. I visited on a hot day and the inside of the cafe wasn't much cooler than the outdoors due to the garden patio being open, so if you're looking for a place to relax in central air, this isn't it. However, there is plenty of seating (broken into two rooms), plus the back patio. It's very beautiful and "Instagram-worthy." I visited on a Saturday, and no laptops/working are allowed in the front room or patio on the weekends, but you can work at a larger table in the second room. I had an iced Vietnamese coffee and danish with fresh fruit. Both were delicious. The flavors on the danish were so pronounced. The Viet coffee could have been stronger, but overall it tasted authentic. Service was great and I could see this being a fun place to meet up with friends to relax.

Love the well thought out interiors and selection of vegan desserts. The patio in the back is a great place to relax with a book or meet with friends on Queen Street.

One of the prettiest cafes I have been to. The indoor is beautiful decorated with artistic pieces and ornate mirrors but the outdoor patio area beats it by a mile! There are huge rattan lanterns and a cute swing hanging from a giant tree, plants everywhere, so many birds especially in the morning. Go early to skip the long lines and have the patio to yourself. Got the mocha which was good, the savory scones were not warm enough.

This is a must visit cafe downtown located on the strip of Queen street west. I love their new coffee flavours and recently tried the rosemary lavender iced coffee and the butterscotch iced coffee and both were so good! Their backyard patio is always so busy but if you're here, you must sit outside to enjoy the true essence of this place.

I have gone there a couple times and I can't wait to go back. It's really nice to feel a sense of escapism. The decor and the magical garden at the back are both beautiful and inspiring. The customer service has been top notch, very warm and attentive. Love the sweet treats and it's always so adorable when the sparrows come around to pick up crumbs. It's a soulful place.

Cafe 3/50 - Cafe23 Looking for a cafe that serves fab coffee with gorgeous interiors & the dreamiest patio - then you HAVE to visit Cafe23! Let me just start by saying that Cafe23 has my heart. Lavender Rosemary Iced Latte! 100/100. Super unique flavours but yet so yummy, still dreaming about this drink as I pen down my review. You have to visit this place to experience this cafe yourself! Last but not the least, I would like to thank me for visiting this gem of a place & starting a series of sharing the "Best Cafes Toronto has to Offer!"

The atmosphere was very nice here, very busy place and I loved the vibe of the cafe. But it's also the only reason it's getting a high review. Coffee was mediocre at best and the bagel I ordered was so small, as you can see the hole was bigger than the bagel . I would return here for the vibes but probably won't order a coffee next time.

Inside, its on the rustic side with naturally decaying walls and patina of wear on the tables and chairs. My latte was good. My scone would have been better if it was less cold. Due to amount of butter and cheese in the dough, with it being really quite cold, it felt vey congealed - but it had great flavour. I would order it again, but I'd perhaps see if they could heat it, or I'd take it home and heat it. The staff was friendly. Would I return: Yes - but I think there are other options in the area that I might head to first. Would I recommend: This is a great place for people who live nearby to get their morning fix.

Staff is really friendly and the coffee is great, much much better than Starbucks. They are a true small neighbourhoods coffee shop. I believe they source their baked goods from several places, one of which delivers the most amazing chocolate nana bread that I have ever tried. I really hope they'll be able to bring more of that soon. Their coffee is great. You have a costumer y of kills and non- worry options to choose from, as well as syrups of your want to flavour your coffee or tea. They always have great new suggestions as well. And there is no better way than supporting a local business than getting your coffee there.

On a cold winter afternoon, the shop was half empty.. so I can sit where ever I like... either at those nice comfy sofas/armchairs at the back or in the wicker chairs in the front overlooking Queen street under the sunshine... I was surprise when my cappuccino was served in a paper cup?!! I asked the nice guy why not in a mug? I cannot drink from a paper cup that is hot to touch (I have history of spilling hot drinks all over myself or my friends)..I need a mug!!!! Sorry.. they don't have MUGS!! The cappuccino itself is quite good... the roast was a little weak to my liking but the froth was dense and milky... Note to Management: " Please have some mugs!!" and I don't care how environmentally your paper cups are!!!

I swear you could play European handball in here, yet you'll only find two easy chairs, two kitchen-sized tables and several rattan seats near the front. That's not to say the atmosphere isn't swell. I'm sick of saying "exposed brick" so I won't. The Queen St façade is all windows, and the natural light just pours into this high-ceilinged space. And as a graphic design enthusiast, believe me, I love negative space -- but more seating wouldn't hurt. My latte was served at approximately 451 degrees Fahrenheit and took some time to produce, but it was tasty and only $2.75. There is art on the walls (for sale) and a few bookshelves laden with reading material (also for sale). I would certainly spend time in this place (free wifi) but be warned: the music is horrible.
