Stumbled upon this cafe spot as it looked quite interesting on the outside. The menu was quite extensive with both coffee and non-coffee options. I'm not a big coffee person so I got a matcha drink. I decided to try something different and went with the yuzu matcha drink from their menu. Yuzu Matcha: It was an amazing quality drink, however, the yuzu overpowered the drink itself so there wasn't much of the matcha flavour. I was expecting a bit more balance. If you're looking for something refreshing, this would be a good option to try however wouldn't recommend if you're expecting more matcha. I really appreciated that the ice levels were quite reasonable compared to most places that tend to add more. The ambiance itself deserves it's own recognition for 5 stars! Very laid back and you could tell there was good thought put into the cafe's aesthetic. There's a lot of seating tucked inside so it was surprising to me given it looked much smaller on the outside. It wasn't too overcrowded on a Thursday evening. Overall, I would come back again to try another drink. read more

This is a very hip coffee house located on Baldwin but on the strip north of Kensington Market. When you walk in the vibe is very cool and hip. The space goes quite deep. There is some seating at the front with a small selection of merchandise for sale and then the coffee bar. Menu is everything coffee and matcha with some baked goods. When we arrived around mid afternoon everything was sold out. Prices are decent, 7 bucks for strawberry matcha or black sesame hojicha. There is a DJ space just beyond the coffee bar and then more seating. Restrooms are downstairs. Strawberry matcha was good as was the black sesame hojicha. The matcha was clearly high quality and not at all grainy. My friend did say it was a little milky, but she said it still tasted good. The yuzu Mont Blanc cream was so good, especially with the shreds on top. I would eat it with a spoon. The atmosphere is actually beautiful. Sitting there with a book for a few hours would actually heal me. Amazing music, vibes, and lighting. The decor was immaculate. A cute vibey cafe on Baldwin. A perfect place for a laid back afternoon, a coffee chat and some coffee in general. Hopped in here to get a strawberry matcha with oat milk and they use Hokusan matcha. I think their drink was good but their vibes and interior are even better. Lots of seating around so you can enjoy your drink with your friend or alone. They have seasonal specials that I would assume changes often. Can't wait to try their coffee next time as well. read more

Was walking by and stopped by for a latte $5.60 which was really good. On par with what I would expect of a specialty coffee shop. The space is bigger than expected, with a more moody vibe unique to any other coffee shop. There's a live DJ which is quite the touch, and though I like the music stye it was too loud and would be distracting during conversation or doing work. They are clearly popular and we're happy to have another great option. read more

This is a retro inspired Japanese cafe with a really chill vibe. It's a great place to hang out and catch up with friends and even do work. They have a decent amount of seating in the back and a nice patio area in the summer. They're your classic cafe and have all the usual. I got their classic matcha latte which was good. The service was friendly and quick. The unique thing about this cafe is that it serves as a great community space. Lots of events are hosted here, such as mahjong nights. I have still yet to attend one but it's amazing that they do this. read more

We came here on a Friday to do some work. The biggest letdown was when the Wi-Fi didn't work on our laptops so we had to leave after getting coffee. This location is very spacious and the back room provides a lot of table seating or couch seating if you want to relax. The aesthetics are on par with the other room's locations Washrooms are downstairs. The barista was friendly but unfortunately he could not solve the Wi-Fi problem. read more

Rooms Coffee has opened up another new location, this time in Baldwin Village. The coffee shop has ample seating available, perfect for working, hanging out with friends or sipping on a coffee. What's neat about this cafe is that they have vinyl spinning all day. I suspect they will have events/other offerings later on (like 915 Dupont). In terms of beverages, they have all the caffeinated options as well as tea options available. They are currently in their soft opening phase. I stopped by 17 Baldwin on a Tues morning around 8am (they open at 8!). Barista was friendly and the space is just truly beautiful! Dark wood throughout where it gives the space a very Japanese zen like feeling. At the back there is a space with a skylight (and more light). The front features a long hanging lantern. I ordered a flat white which was made well. Overall, a beautiful addition to Baldwin Village! Will definitely return! read more

Absolutely love the vibes of this cafe. It is a great place to meet up with friends to talk and relax. I tried the sweet potato latte and iced americano. The sweet potato latte was very good although it was a little bit too sweet. Luckily I had the ice americano to balance the sweetness. The service was very quick and baristas were very nice! Discovered this place on our way to get brunch ... unfortunately they don't have a lot in way of food, but the vibe, the decor and the promise of coffee made sure that we returned after to just get coffee. 17 Baldwin has rocketed to the top spot for coffee downtown Toronto. I can't think of another place that has the full combination of amazing coffee, the vibe with the music section, or the quiet work space beyond the music section. Such a cute coffee shop in Balwin village. Vibes and coffee are 10/10. Pretty spacious for seating, chill work spot for light work but the lighting is a bit dim and chairs aren't the most comfortable so wouldn't recommend for working long. Another in the explosion of coffee by Nigel, the young entrepreneur taking Toronto's west end by storm with his prowess in this field of business. There is no secret behind his success, and it's partly the Asian connection with his many fans and customers, but it's mainly the music! While 915 has whiskey in the mix of debauchery-fueled crowd that often shows up for the fun, this spot has a main focus of coffee... and music, and for me it's the music that stands out here. Of all the places I've followed these people around at, this one has the most amazing sound! If you like crispy clear sound from matched components and tickled by a needle in a groove, you will like this spot. Since that Saturday was their opening party, I decided to get the hole-shot by going when they first opened so I got there at around 9 am thinking I could FTR it, but apparently this was the grand opening and I missed the soft one, oh well! At least I came at the right time, not when things were first getting sorted, this place was 100% functioning when I got there! I really enjoyed my cappuccino and sitting right in front of the big speakers at the back and enjoying the funky jazz on deck in the early morning. Then I came back later to party with DJ Sakiko who plays stuff I like and by that time the place was rocking! Guu (queen west) was supplying the food and there were another 3 DJs to catch here. After trying the four items on the menu, including skewers, udon cold noodles, and incredible eggplant, I left for home but first stopping by the neighbour izakaya for their contribution to the event, free wings! And there I met a buddy who wanted to join in on the fun, so back to 17Baldwin again for the third time that day for a cold brew to top off the afternoon, Whew, what a party! They kept going until 8pm as another friend went but I had to bow out as a forth time would have been a bit much. She had a great time and connected with the owner as they both spoke mandarin, go figure! read more

Recently visited this new Rooms Coffee location after checking out the one of Ossington, The Path and Dupont (hosted an event there). This is by far my favourite spot and by the way it is constantly busy, I can assume others feels the same :) Great drinks as always! read more
