We were in the area to grab lunch but had some time to kill before our reservation, so I figured I'd grab myself a coffee. Rooms looked pretty busy, which is always a good sign, so we popped in. I wanted something cold so I kept it simple and went with their plain Cold Brew coffee. It was ready a few minutes later and totally hit the spot. The coffee was flavorful and rich, while the temperature was perfect and ensured it was completely satisfying on such a hot day. I'll surely be returning to Rooms very soon. read more

Ordered: Flat White (CAD $5) Aya's take: This is a Rooms Coffee location; not sure why the name on Yelp is their address. It's a super lowkey coffee shop with a lot of Japanese influence. I went with a standard Flat White which was expertly made by the barista. There's some seating in the front and back (maybe 10 people total can fit comfortably) and there's a downstairs area which I didn't go to. The Flat White is made with great quality espresso and it's light and foamy. Really easy to sip on and enjoy while we headed to our next destination. Side note, I was a little bummed they didn't give me one of the cups with their eyes logo on it. They even had them available! Not sure what drinks they're used for. Solid try! read more

Long time no visit! First came here a few years ago when most things were shut down and you could not dine-in, and only order coffee to go from their front window. Yesterday, I visited on a busy Saturday afternoon. Service here is top notch as always. The baristas are knowledgeable and work efficiently. But they get busy so expect a queue. It moves quickly though. They have bar seating by the front window, a low coffee table with seating around that could fit 4-6 people, and some seating past the counter as well. Most people just grab to go. My iced Tokyo Fog was a bit mild for my preference of London Fog-type drinks, but it was refreshing on a muggy day. My friends got the matcha latte, and Yuzu Honey caffeinated drink. Both were good! read more

Great coffee. Had a latte but they didn't have many baked goods left so I grabbed a cinnamon bun from across the street. The latte was delicious. It took a bit to place my order and grabbed a table but I couldn't really tell when our order was ready but I popped up after a few minutes and they were waiting on the bar. It's a pretty busy spot. There's a downstairs section with more seating but you don't hear the music down there. It'd be a good spot if you were there to do work. They also have a back patio for nicer days. It's quirky. The furniture and decor is very mixed and matched but it's cute in its own way. I think they maybe could have put a little more work I to sourcing comfortable furniture because the seats were pretty hard lol. I came here because I really wanted to see the basement but it was closed. It's what made it seem to stand out amongst the other coffee shops in the area. Not sure why but as a result of it being closed off, all the seats were filled on the main floor. Luckily, I found one spot in the patio. It was a mild autumn day but if it were any colder, I would have went elsewhere. I did try their iced Tokyo Fog and it was watery and bland from the first sip. Excellent. This place gets busy for sure given it's high reviews here and on google. They have more Japanese inspired flavours like yuzu and matcha and the vibes are definitely Japanese. I got the Peach Oolong tea and it was really good. I think what makes this place a 5 star is that they have an intimate downstairs area with a few tables and seats to kind of escape the busy and loud upstairs. It's just a great place to grab a drink and hang out. read more

Dropped by today to grab a cup of coffee. I was not disappointed. It was a good cup of coffee and the cafe was a very cute setting almost home like. it was pretty busy we we took our cups to go. It was pretty quick service in and out. there were no more pastries when we arrived but i saw a sign for kouign amann in the empty display. read more

It has been awhile I give 5 stars review. 135 Ossington is so charming and I fall in love with this place right away. The place has many characters and vibe is so chill. There are a few seating area indoor and outdoor and I would love to spend my day to relax, enjoy a drink, hang out with friends. But the day I went was cold so the patio isn't open. The music was good too. Let's talk about the drink. They have regular coffee, espresso drinks, pour over and seasonal drink. They also offer tea and saw they have some nice tea making tools. I ordered a seasonal drink Yuzu which is pickled plum, peach oolong tea and yuzu honey. The mixed was so refreshing and interesting. Love the creativity. My friend tried the pour over which was good too. Service wise, I was greeted by a very friendly barista. We talked about coffee and the local roaster they got the coffee from. There are some whole beans from local roasters and coffee merchandise. Definitely want to go back to try more of their offerings. read more

135 Ossington is a chill coffee shop located on Ossington near Argyle. The space is warm and inviting with wooden accents throughout and plants. Just like their sister coffee shops (Carbonic and Bather), this place gives off relaxing vibes. It's a space where you can get work done, meet a friend, or simply spend time alone. There is seating up front, in the back (my fave part of the shop), as well as outside in the front and back when the weather is nice. The coffee here is always great, the baristas know their stuff. I've been plenty of times and it's definitely one of my fave cafes along Ossington for sure. Defintely check it out if you have the chance! read more

A friend recommended that I visit 135 Ossington on my work trip to Toronto. Firstly, WOW. I ordered the Tokyo Fog (their take on a London Fog), and my friend ordered the iced Hojicha Latte. I can't stop thinking about how incredible both drinks are hence my 10:30am review on a Tuesday! At first glance, the shop looks small; however, there is more seating available downstairs. It's cozy and comfortable with a couple tables and floor cushions. Would recommend to any Toronto local or visitor. Baristas are also really sweet. read more

Shame to have to write this about a local business, especially since I've been a regular from the time it opened. Rooms Coffee has been a welcome presence on Ossington, standing out even among perhaps half a dozen other coffee places all within a few hundred metres. Authentic local flavour and a uniquely relaxed vibe help set it apart. It's an impressive achievement. Sadly, it doesn't take much to wreck it. Recently one of the counter staffers has been displaying some truly over-the-top personal hostility, harassing and threatening me; I gather that he doesn't like the way I walk my dog. Some weeks ago he lashed out at me in public with a lengthy obscene tirade, peppered with several threats of physical violence. I walked away and didn't give it much further thought. On Friday Jan 10, however, I walked into the shop for a coffee and discovered that he was the barista. (I've noted that a few other reviewers have had bad experiences with him.) I was prepared, nonetheless, to let it go. What can I tell you? I thought I was dealing with an adult. I was wrong. I was immediately met with an aggressive and hateful attitude and an incredibly obnoxious and smirking refusal to prepare any coffee. (I'm not sure, but I don't believe you can refuse service, never mind assault someone, because you don't like the way they walk their dog.) That wasn't it, however, because he quickly escalated it to another flood of name-calling, obscenities, and openly threatening me with violence. In front of other customers. Frankly, it makes me wonder about his mental health. I reached out to management via direct message, hoping we could keep this private. There has been no response. Well, it's their business, and there are plenty of other coffee shops close by, but I have trouble believing this is the way they want to treat their regular customers. It's not a good look, and it can ruin all the hard work they've done to build up their brand. At the very least, a refresher in customer service, not to mention maturity and simple good manners, might be in order. read more

I ordered an Americano and Matcha Latte through Ritual app, and they didn't even see my order until I arrived and nudged them! The Americano was too watery and acidic. One of my favourite cafes in Toronto! If I'm around Ossington, I'm most likely stopping in at 135 to hang out and read or catch up with friends. Drinks are crafted with care right in front of you and I've enjoyed every drink I've tried. My go-to is the matcha latte that is smooth and not clumpy at all. The vibe and decor of the space are very well crafted and the cafe feels very warm and comfy. Tucked inside a narrow storefront off the Ossington strip is 135 Ossington. Named after it's address, this cafe differentiates itself from the others in the area by taking an unpolished, piecemeal approach and aesthetic. Walking in, you feel like you're visiting your artsy friend's living room. It just so happens your artsy friend is obsessed with coffee and tea and always has something brewing. The feeling is friendly, relaxed, and unpretentious, all great qualities in a cafe. I had the barley tea. It was more subtle than the barley tea I've had elsewhere, but definitely still a perfect wintertime drink. What I like most about 135 Ossington is the fact that it feels like an art project. It's not trying to be or do anything besides delivering on excellent beverages. I've dropped by at night when it turns into a very cool, very social bar.
