We came here on a whim. A last-minute brunch decision. Nothing planned. No expectations. And what…read morefollowed was a core memory in three courses and a complimentary Bloody Mary shot accompanied by the cutest green olive. The moment we walked in, it felt like home, but not in the "kick off your shoes" way. No, this was the "you're safe here, baby" kind of home. The vibe? Cozy. Elevated. Like Restoration Hardware met someone emotionally stable. Elliott was our server and an absolute delight. Joseph was the manager, casually spreading joy like Oprah with a tray of Bloody Mary shots. Amber... now let me pause here, because this woman deserves a paragraph of her own. Amber isn't just a GM. She's the kind of soul you meet once and never forget. When I asked for her to come to our table just to pay her a compliment, we both practically teared up. She received it with open arms, no ego, no deflection, just pure, gracious presence. I was mid-sentence and suddenly I had that Creed song stuck in my head. You know the one. "With arms wide open..." That's the kind of energy she brought to the entire restaurant. Amber made every person in that room feel like they mattered. Not because it's her job, but because it's who she is. She's fresh off earning her master's in hospitality, and if that degree came with a crown, she's wearing it. The Porch doesn't just run smoothly. It runs on Amber energy. But let's talk about the moment I saw God. Cornbread Eggs Benedict: Not crab. Not salmon. Corn. Bread. And not just any cornbread. The softest, fluffiest, most cuttable cloud of golden glory I've ever had the pleasure of annihilating with a fork. A fork, not a steak knife. Do you understand how rare that is? Normally I'm out here sawing through an English muffin like I'm in a lumberjack competition. This? Melted like butter. Tasted like a hug. 12/10. Incredible. And then, as if the eggs benny enlightenment wasn't enough, Joseph reappears with a tray of free Bloody Mary shots for the entire restaurant. With olives. For everyone. The joy? Immediate. The energy? Electric. The crowd? Unified. I watched a grandmother at the next table raise her glass like the queen she is. I nearly cried. This wasn't service. This was a masterclass in human connection. Restaurants can be transactional. Robotic. This was the opposite. This was care, intention, soul. My high school principal once said: "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit of extra." The Porch brought extra, bagged it, garnished it, and served it on a tray. Final thought: If you're not brunching here, I'm concerned. If you are? I'll raise my Bloody Mary shot to you. And Amber, if you ever run for mayor, you've already got my vote. I'll run your campaign and show up in a custom t-shirt.

We ordered 2 bottles of champagne and 1 Bloody Mary and it took over 16 minutes to arrive and we had to remind him 2 times. He never brought us water. He messed up our checks and added gratuity, said he wasn't, did and then came back and said he didn't when he did. It took about 15 minutes to get our checks back after we paid. Honestly it was one not a great customer service experience. Salad was very good! Everyone's food was good. Issue was just service!

Things change. People change. Tables turn. Bridges burn. Ya live & ya learned:…read more I learned this is my fav Q spot in DFW area. I love Q, i grew up cooking on charcoal Websters, & old wood smokers filled with oak food off the coast & in the riparian hills of the Pacific. Chicken, tri tip, etc.. But THIS. IMO. PECAN LODGE IS THEE DEFINITION OF TEXAS Q. All the meat was not too rich, hardy, moist, fall apart, smoke rings & surprisingly i was astounded by the pork rib quality the most. Surprisingly not as salty as i thought especially since ima salty person. Lol Enjoy!

Ordered Turkey, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and Mac and Cheese on the 2 meat combo plate. First off, that was $27 which I thought was rather high but with the hype I thought it might be worth it. The turkey was tender and juicy and rather flavorful, except for the end piece of turkey breast (I assume) with the skin side which was extremely tough. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was okay, but it didn't really retain either the jalapeño, cheddar, or the smoky taste which I thought was disappointing. The Mac and Cheese had bacon bits on it which were nice and crispy but the Mac and Cheese wasn't very rich or complex flavor wise, which I found slightly underwhelming. The sauce was super runny and while it had flavor, I never think having to put sauce on stuff to give it flavor is the answer. All that being said, for $27 I wasn't going to leave anything on the plate. The service I thought was rather hands off and I'm surprised nobody came and checked on us although that may be just how things are. The ambiance was cool with old license plates and pictures along with some cool western themed things up on the walls to make it seem warm and homey. All in all, I was left with the feeling that there should've been more and I was kinda disappointed after all the hype I've seen and all the gravitas that the name Pecan Lodge carries with it. I'd say probably a 6.5-7/10 so that lands me at 3 stars because it really didn't feel 4 star worthy.

For dinner we had the fried chicken, southern greens, and hop john rice. The chicken is one of the best. I can't think of one better. They fry it in duck fat which gives it a great flavor and texture. The southern greens comes with corn bread/hush puppies for soaking up the greens liquor. The Hop John rice paired well with the chicken. This place is special.

This place is truly something special, from the gracious hospitality to the incredible menu. The menu delivers elevated Southern comfort food that somehow manages to feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. I've worked my way through almost the entire menu over multiple visits, and I can honestly say that everything is incredible. Every time I take someone new there, I tell them that there hasn't been one dish that I've ever thought "meh" about. Every dish is so flavorful and outstanding. That said, I absolutely have my go-to order: the cornbread (a must), the southern greens, and the fried chicken. The cornbread is almost like a melt in your mouth dessert, that I happily start every visit with. The greens are packed with rich, savory flavor, and I'm not kidding when I say that every time I have them, I literally dream about them for weeks after. And the duck fat fried chicken? Crispy, juicy, and hands-down some of the best I've ever had. Beyond the food, the whole experience just feels thoughtful, from the quality of ingredients to the execution of every dish. You can tell there's real intention behind everything coming out of the kitchen. If you're anywhere near Farmers Branch, this spot is worth going out of your way for. And if it's your first visit--trust me, get the cornbread, southern greens, and fried chicken. You'll be dreaming about it later.

This place does get packed at lunch but food comes out fast. For lunch, I recommend the Roast Beef in Brown Gravey, Fried Okra, Corn Bread, and another side of your choice. Delicious! For breakfast, I like to get the Sausage and Biscuits with Gravey, sometimes with eggs. The Biscuits are just basic and simple, but they are sure are good and flavorful and fresh n hot. Overall the prices are good for the portions you get and you get alot of food. This is dinner food, so expect dinner quality. It is not the greatest, but it beats most other breakfast places. Personally, I like the food and will continue to eat here every week.

Fancy spot! You wouldn't mind if I review it, would you? Eating out in Dallas can get really…read moreexpensive, really quick. Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!
