Folks, here's an honest review from one happy customer and someone who's known Doug for many years. 40+ yrs Doug is a sweet, down to earth gentlemen that knows his $h!t on just about everything. He can work on bicycles that many know him by, but he is so much more on motorcycles, race bikes, off road bikes and quads. Not many know he is a Salinas native whom at one time was an AMA Super-bike Champion Bad A$$ that toured the world.... I am honored to have him as my personal mechanic on my 93 GSXR 1100 for all my personal needs. I trust NO ONE to work on my toys but rest assured you can trust Doug to get things running right and done right the first time. His prices are comparable and knowing whatever he works on, you can rest easy knowing he treats it as his own. I've gone to other bike shops in Salinas, Monterey, Seaside, San Jose and non compare to the respect and quality of service I get from DC-10. Sent the board in for ripped out fcs pin plug, opted to upgrade to fcs fusion... anyway not too impressed with the result... ugh how annoying, I you want some one to learn using your board go for it otherwise take it to a professional. I will definitely not use for any surf related repairs again. Went a bid wide with the router (WTF) and the fin box was not even glassed properly aligned...WTF. On the positive great communication, owned up to it and brian agreed to refund $100 of the $220 I was charged for this lesson... Alas one and done for me... as I personally will never use them again.

Everything from their tchotchkes to their surf and SUP boards are first rate. The artisanship is over the top. They don't merely talk sustainability, they practice it as fully as possible. They use recycled wood from fence posts, wine fermenters and water tanks just to name a few. Oh, and wood recovered from the original 1937 77' Western Flyer made famous by John Steinbeck and Doc Ricketts in Steinbeck's book "Journals From the Sea of Cortez" published in 1951. In the various pieces of artwork, yes it's artwork, you may even find slices of golf balls recovered from slices and hooks into the ocean at Pebble Beach. The epoxy covering these beauties is tree sap based by Entropy Resins. They also use a soy based resin by Ecopoxy. OK, I told you so. Plus, you gotta catch the nifty RC dune buggy with headlights, a key nd a driver that turns its head and waves. And has its own surfboard, and fly rod. Fly rod! It was a chore as my table is so old. But he did it and I'm loving the feel of the table, almost like brand new. Dale's prices were really reasonable and his service was great. Would recommend. He works mostly alone from what I understand so be patient with him returning calls and sometimes you call he has glue all over his hands and can't write down your number. But it is worth it, he does wonderful work.
