We were walking by the store and were attracted to the Hawaiian shirts inside the door. Once we were in the store a friendly and helpful staff member quickly assisted us. It turns out that unfortunately, there were no Hawaiian shorts with vibrant colors in my size. They had lots of shirts in S, M, L, and XL, but very few in XXLT. Unfortunately due to the way the clothing industry works, the things you want for the season your are in are not available at that time. I was told that a few months ago, they had a large selection of such shirts in the larger sizes; now only the smaller sizes were available. However, all was not in vain... While I was being helped looking for shorts in my size, my wife was being assisted by another staff member. She was seeking a flip flop that fit her with arch support and that met some other requirements. The staff person helped her find just the right ones, which we purchased. Great store and knowledgeable service. My kid went in to get some volleyball shoes. They had quite a few he was able to try on and get the right size. Unfortunately, they didn't have the one he wanted in stock. We ended up having to order the right size online but the experience there was positive none the less. As always, it's in the middle of Los Gatos so getting a parking spot is a pain. Due to Covid, many restaurants are also setting up outdoor seatings along the streets in front of their establishments in the parking spaces right along the street. It's a bit of a squeeze driving through and many people walking so drive slow and with great caution. read more

not welcoming vibe. after more than 2 decades i was so hyped last night coz i was able to step on the volleyball court again. i have no shoes, knee pads, or any vb shorts so i decided to treat myself and get proper gear. the group i played with recommended this shop so i drove to check out if i could get the stuff i needed & liked for vb. the guy with red and long hair had no welcoming vibe, not smiling, and looked irritated when i asked some questions, he didn't even say thank you, see you again, or anything after he handed me the product i purchased. im not coming back to this location. read more

Literally the best for last minute volleyball stuff. I have seen people go there from all clubs. The people there actually know about volleyball and know how to fit you. They are so nice and easy to talk to. They even have changing rooms so you can try on the spandex or knee pads. The front of the store is filled with a bunch of beach wear and the back is literally volleyball heaven. I just wanted to keep looking around and try out everything the first time I came here. We were even testing all the balls and setting and stuff and there's a reason why you shouldn't play with balls inside the house, and after multiple knock downs of shoe displays... they still were super nice to us! Every time I step into Sprocket's, I feel really giddy, almost like a kid in a candy store. Not because of the beach wear in the front of the store, but because of the volleyball shrine in the back of the store. They have the good stuff back there, and like they say, you have to dig deep for the good stuff. Sprocket's is spectacular for all your volleyball needs. They have a nice selection of equipment and apparel. They have different types of kneepads like Nike, Mizuno, Asics, Kaepa, etc. I love how they have the legit volleyballs, not the hard, plastic/pleather, atrociously colored ones you'd find at say a Big 5 or sportsmart. I bought an official AVP volleyball and it is awesome to play with on the sand. I also bought all my volleyball gear, from my Mizuno shoes, spandex shorts, kneepads, and Nike socks for high school season. Our Nike Dri-fit uniforms were also purchased here. The staff is always very friendly and willing to help you if you need anything. My only issue is that volleyball section is so small and the store itself is small, but I guess that's because it is in downtown Los Gatos. I love this store. They have the latest, coolest, hippest beachwear. I bought a pair of white and black pair of plaid boardshorts for ahem $50.00. They are not a cheap store but you pay for the specialty clothes. They are also THE VOLLEYBALL store in Santa Clara valley. Balls, nets, sandkits for both in and outdoor setups. Shorts, socks, shoes, ankle braces and knee pads for both in and outdoor too. Uniforms and flip flops can be found in the back room. Sprockets isn't the cheapest store in the town but they are selling very specific gear so I suppose you know your paying more going into it. Gregg, the owner has a loyal base of customers. There's always a nice variety of new merchandise and everything is displayed well throughout the shop. I would probably just order my stuff online since I am a little more patient. It is also a little far for me, but if it was in my neighborhood I would be in there more often. I coach and I looked in to their uniforms and they are a little too pricey for me. I also think they overcharge for balls and equipment in the store and through their website "siliconvolley.com". I usually order my stuff from spikenashbar.com since I buy in bulk. This is definitely more of a place for players to go in for their individual needs. After going to Sports Authority and then the new Sports Basement in Campbell, Sprockets puts them to shame. I could not believe the lack of volleyball equipment / accessory selection at the bigger sport stores. The staff at the big stores were nonexistent. Totally different shopping experience at Sprockets. Staff was extremely helpful. The young lady helping me was very patient in answering my questions and showing merchandise. Wow. Volleyball heaven. This place is probably overkill if you just want a crappy ball to knock around with your friends, but if you are looking for the official ball of basically any tournament / championship in the world, this is where you should go. They have the olympics game ball next to the NCAA game ball next to the AVP game ball next to the CVBA game ball etc etc etc. As a point of comparison, if you go to even a "good" sporting goods store, you'd be lucky to find one game ball or comparable quality ball. They also have a huge selection of indoor court shoes, plus all the pads you'd ever want to wear, etc. I don't know about their prices on stuff you wear, but on volleyballs the prices are very reasonable - about the same as what I found online or even a couple bucks cheaper - when you are buying a single ball. In the south bay we're lucky to have a physical store with such selection. read more
