Sales staff there need work. I visited three times the last week and got all different answers to questions. I left each time and returned because I knew what they were telling me did not match the information on Verizon's website or even in my own account. He seemed to be in such a rush to have an answer to all of my questions, i got the feeling that they just seem to believe that everybody that comes in there is an idiot and they can say whatever they want, and no one's going to question them. Just a terrible way to conduct business. The last time we visited, we spoke to Thomas and he was seriously one of the worst representatives I've ever delt with. Rude, sarcastic condescending, snippy, just awful. I left their feeling so unsatisfied with Verizon. I've always been willing to pay for Verizon's higher prices because the customer service has always been outstanding but now I'm having second thoughts about that. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Picked up a brand new iPhone for a gift and added to my account yesterday. Got all the way home to discover it hadn't been activated by the person working the day prior. Went back this morning to get it up and running and NO ONE offered to help beyond dialing the number of support for me. So I sat for an hour in the store while support asked me to do various things on the phone without anyone coming over to offer assistance. At one point, I was asked to reset my pin. Support on the phone said someone in the store could help. The store staff member acted like they were being put out that they had to do it. A $1200 phone, sizeable increase to my bill, and they could not care less. While there, my husband witnessed a man coming in asking for assistance. At one point, the person 'helping' handed the phone back and just walked away without explanation. The customer called after the store person and said "Why are you walking away from me?" Four people walking the floor and not one with any customer service skills. Avoid if at all possible. read more

After a salesperson made a clumsy attempt to manipulate me at the location in the mall across the street, I found myself in this corporate owned Verizon Wireless store. And I am very happy that I did. Not that my visit was all hearts and flowers, mind you, but it was a real cut above the other place in every way. Heading in on a Friday night, the expansive modern and minimalist showroom was packed with customers. Not packed like sardines, but in the figurative sense that there was about a fifteen minute wait to speak to a sales consultant. There was a young man at the front door checking people in on a tablet, and then fetching them when someone became available. It was a very efficient system, and I didn't begrudge the line at all, because, though I knew exactly what I wanted, it offered me the chance to do some physical product comparisons and make absolutely certain of my decision. When my turn came, I was introduced to a salesman who I can only describe as a combination of the Shelley Levene character from Glengarry Glen Ross (or Gil Gunderson from the Simpsons, if you prefer) and Woody Allen. He was kind of pitiful. I told him that I needed to upgrade my phone, asked him if they had the RAZR MAXX I was looking for, and he then proceeded to, in the grand tradition of sales professionals all over the world, try to complicate the very simple task of writing the order and closing the deal. He immediately launched into a spiel about how he was going to put together a really great package of accessories for me. I told him I didn't want any accessories. He continued to tell me how great they were individually, and how much greater they would be as a package. Again, I told him I didn't want any accessories. Who has two thumbs and bought a package of accessories he didn't want or need? This guy right here. In the end, it just came down to a confluence of feeling sorry for the guy, wanting him to shut the hell up about what magic he was going to work for me, and desperately wanting to get out of there and smoke a cigarette. But it turned out that my moment of weakness was a moment of inadvertent triumph. Here's how it went down: To get the phone I wanted, the cost would have been $199 plus a $30 upgrade fee. For some reason, my wife's line is eligible for an additional $100 discount, so I was able to grab that. At that point, I was at $129 plus tax. Gil, er, whatever his name was, grabbed a whole bunch of crap like an HDMI cable and cradle, a cover, screen protectors, a car charger, etc. - probably about $200 worth of stuff - and told me that he would give me everything for $171.50. Having been broken down by his overpowering odor of desperation and my need for nicotine, I said fine. He asked me if I wanted to sign up for paperless billing, and I also agreed to that. I never open the bills anyway; they just go straight in the garbage. When he rang me up, I had to sign everything on the signature pad at the register, and I was not given a receipt. Because I had signed up for paperless billing, my receipt would be e-mailed to me. Okay... weird, but the dollar amount on the screen was correct, so I went along with it. I left, and of course I spent the night playing with my new toy. The next day, I saw the e-mail from Verizon containing my receipt, and claimed my victory over sleazy sales-types, which I dedicate to all of you. Gil - we'll just call him that - had sold me the phone for $24.99, and the rest of the charges were for the accessories I was getting such a supposed steal on. My accessories were unopened. I had purchased a RAZR MAXX for $25. Wow. I promptly returned all the stupid and unnecessary accessories for a refund. Except the case; he'd sold me that for like $3, and it was kind of cool and definitely a good idea. Ha, ha, ha! Nothing like that ever happens to me! So, in closing, I can highly recommend this location for the excellent value they graciously provided me. After being hung up on, slighted, and ignored , by calling into their so called customer service, these two individuals handled me with care and respect. This was one of the best and worst experiences I've had! My husband and I go in to buy 2 new iPhone 12 Pro Max's - the welcome guy said they were "too busy" to help us (there was 1 other customer in the store and 4 sales reps) and to order on the Verizon app for in store pick up and that he'd check our order before we submitted it and then a sales rep (the ones too busy to help us) would bring it out. Well we did all that and 10-15 mins later the sales rep Joe (stay tf away from him) brings out just 1 phone. We tell him no the order was for 2. He looks and somehow when the other guy set us up on the app 1 phone was for store pick up and 1 would be delivered to our house (and we're leaving for vacation in 2 days so that wouldn't work). Ok no biggie we'll just have them cancel the wrong one and re do it. NOPEEE lovely Joe basically said he didn't care and for US to call Verizon customer service and have it sorted out and then he'd sell us the other phone... the guy couldn't be bothered to do anything to help at all, walked away while I was asking him a question to go help someone else and get commission from them. For the first 2 hours NO ONE was any help they just watched up sit in the middle of the store for an hour with customer service. We finally get it done and joe is helping someone else and couldn't give a shit about helping us even though we're going on 2+ hours there. Well thank GOD that Greg comes out of the back he took care of EVERYTHING!!! He got on the phone with customer service instead of having the customer do it because he cared and wasn't lazy and had us out of there happy and as fast as he could!!! He was honestly so great, such a nice guy and just wanted to make sure the customer was happy..... Joe was the literal opposite!!! 3+ hours later and we walked out with 2 phones but honestly if one of the "too busy" sales reps would have just helped us to begin with (even if we had to wait I dont care) it would have taken a fraction of that time and frustration to us and to poor Greg that had to talk to like 5 different customer service reps!!! Side note a guy who was sitting and watching what was going on with us and the lack of he'll literally got up and and left and told us that there was no way he'd be waiting for anyone there to hell him after he saw how they "helped" us. TLDR: if you go to this store ask for Greg and if you get Joe just turn around and leave unless you're ok with doing his job for him!!! read more

I spent over 4 hours trying to purchase a phone, and still left with no phone. My husband has been a Verizon customer for 19 years, and the management in this location was horrific. We were told about a promotion last week that expired on 12/31/20 according to a sales rep. This promotion yesterday, not even a week later, was not available. The management blamed the sales rep for "being new", not my problem, and said he shouldn't have shown it to us??? What?! They proceeded to "push" a call to us from Verizon support, and we spent 1 1/2 hours with or hold, or speaking to 2 different people who couldn't help us. I finally after 2 hours and 10 minutes thought all was resolved. (We actually left the store and ate lunch while I was on hold.) We go back to the store, and they tell us the Verizon support person that they called for us, gave us wrong info. The management actually sent us to another Verizon store across the street. Imagine, telling a customer to go to another store? What the actual F? We go there and they can't help us. We go home, I call Verizon Loyalty back and the person was appalled at the whole story. It seriously would've been easier to go buy a car. Getting a cell phone, or I should say, trying to get a cell phone from this location was the actual worst retail experience I've ever had. No one working there is qualified to deal with customers, or should be in a business that their job is customer service. Very poor customer service went there today for a new phone and asked many questions with no help she just kept saying they don't do that. The lady just sent us out the door and said the phone will be working when we get home and turned the phone on. We got home turned it on an nothing came over from the old phone. I always had someone at the store help me with this but she said they don't do this anymore. So now I'm stuck on the phone with support for over hour to get my phone working. How bad can one verizon store be? I found out last night. First was the finding the place because they don't have a sign on the front of the strip mall that they are there. Oh wait. There was a sign on the side of the mall not in front. Then once I get in line I had to step out of the store to get a mask which i did. In the meantime some one was allowed in front of me in line. The sales girl comes over as tries to help but offered nothing because she did not know how to down load pics with a cable. I said I would wait for the tech guy to complete with is budged in line customer. So the clerk who knows nothing, sends over another equally no nothing clerk. At this point I don't know why I am even waiting for the technie clerk who probably does know anything either. But I was told that if I dialed 611 they would help me. verizon hire competent people. I stopped in to see if there was an easier way to transfer my phone pics to a more reliable and accessible app after experiencing issues with Google+, and I was immediately assisted by Lexi Curtis. She made several recommendations for a more efficient and reliable manner to do exactly what I wanted I am not a heavy user of my smartphone, so the more technical and sophisticated features are lost on me. But Lexi also discussed my account, and found a way for me to get more data at the same price I was paying, simply by making a few changes to my existing account. She patiently spent a good deal of time and effort speaking with several Verizon reps on the phone until all issues were resolved. She has a great deal of technical knowledge about their products and services, and was so pleasant to deal work with. Excellent customer service experience. read more

I will start off by saying that I will never walk in this store again. They were rude from the beginning and it only got worse. I was asked the reason for my visit and I stated I was there to get a new phone. I also said the I was an employee of Verizon ( land line) at which time the employee I was talking to informed me that because I was an employee of Verizon ( land line) that I would not be allowed to purchase a phone in the store. I will say that I was shocked by the treatment I received while in the store....so I left the store only to call another vz wireless store in the area and explained what had happened and as well they were also very shocked at the treatment I received. Wow. I've had to go here twice in the past week. Stupid is alive and well here. It's almost unbelievable really. I've never come across so many shockingly dumb people in one establishment in my life. I was actually nervous to hand my phone over to these people, and I had a right to be. I explained the problem of not receiving phone calls to one of the girls here- she looks at my phone and says, "Oh yeah, I can see there's definitely something wrong with this device. Look, the clock it says it's 15:35.." I had to explain to her what a 24 hour clock was. She was 30. I have to give her credit for even looking at the clock I suppose. They end up issuing me a new phone, which took a week to arrive. That was another week of missed phone calls. New phone arrives, doesn't fix the problem. I call technical support and it was the SIM card all along. They have no idea why the kid at Verizon didn't just replace that in the first place. Would have cost a couple cents. Instead they gave me a new $700 phone. I asked the boy who replaced the SIM card to please not touch the copper side of the SIM card with his fingers as the oil can be corrosive when I came back the next week to have it replaced. He argues and says they can be soaked in water and that they are "practically indestructible", then immediately touches the copper side with his fingers to prove me wrong. Great guy. read more

Just purchased new phone upgrade thru Verizon on line, went to store at 1278 Hooper like I have done many times before when I got a new phone to have them transfer my info to the new phone. This tattooed jerk named Tim told me they could not help me I would have to go to the Freehold Mall to an Apple store which is in total a hour from where I started. I happen to remember my sister-in-law telling me there was a Verizon store in the Ocean County Mall which was just across the street, I proceeded to go there and a very nice man named Ronnie was more than willing to help me. He transferred all my data and sent me on my way. If your smart and live in Toms River area just forget this store and go to the one in the mall. read more

Now I am stuck with a monthly payment on a device sitting in a box on a shelf with a $179 cancellation fee. The associate talked me into this 'only option' for an upgrade by saying I could sell the iPad or give it away as a gift. How does that make sense when I would need to transfer the line? Such a mess. However, I wanted to share a recent experience I had at this Verizon location, but specifically my experience with someone who I consider to be a model customer service/sales rep, Tim G. I walked in the store wanting to review my current coverage options and see if I was due for an upgrade. Tim welcomed me in a very professional/respectful manner. At no point did I feel like Tim was trying to sell me on a product/service that did not fit my needs and wants. Tim was fully engaged with what I was saying and what I was looking to achieve with my Verizon experience. In my opinion, this is exceptional salesmanship - Instead of trying to force my hand on upgrades I can't afford at the moment, Tim offered a plan that fit exactly what I was looking for. Recently I had considered shopping for other service providers, but I am confident that I will stay with Verizon; and I have Tim to thank for that.
