I've been a Verizon customer for almost 10 years and have visited many Verizon stores in San Jose over the years. Today my wife and I came to the Verizon store at 1150 S King Rd #10 to upgrade her phone. We only waited about 10 minutes before Jonathan helped us. He is a very young employee, but I was truly impressed by his professionalism, knowledge, and dedication. He explained everything clearly and made sure we received the best promotion available. Tremendous service today. My newly-acquired iPhone 17 had malfunctioned during the activation process. The phone could neither make nor receive calls, so I scheduled an in-srore appointment at the King Rd. location. The technician listened to my explanation of what was wrong and knew immediately how to solve the problem. She worked through the solution methodi and professionally. Today I went to get a new cell phone after having my iPhone 10 for six years. Pro- tip - make an appointment online. Makes for minimal waiting. We had the good fortune to get paired up with Hector. Hector is a pleasant, patient, well-spoken, professional young man. He was very thorough and thoughtful in helping us understand all the options we had for purchasing an iPhone 16 Pro Max. He was very patient and personable as we waited for quite a long time for the phones to transfer info. We are very pleased and happy with the new phone and the service at this Verizon. Awful customer service. We signed in as soon as we got to the store and an employee carrying a tablet walked around making sure everyone checked in but whenever someone walked in the store he helps them which was unprofessional and unfair fornpeople who are on waitlist. He or all employees should be trained and to oblige the purpose of having customers to check in and list their names and be helped on a girat come first served basis. We got the apple watch, 2 ipads, iphone and router for home internet 2 weeks ago. We came back, talked to Business acct manager Jessie and was advised to return the router since it was defective for no additional charge. Came back to the store and been there for over 3 hours to resolve this issue. Jessie wasn't in and Christian was the one who approached us. He kept going in the back and stayed there for a long time without even informing us what is going on, whether he is still working on helping us or if he is on lunch. He was only on the floor with us 3 times for less than 5 mins. I have to ask other employees few time to see what Christian doing or give us update. The wait is unbelievable, like being at ER or worst. Employees here doesn't seem friendly nor helpful. This store was just okay. They have decent amount of team members on staff and they were friendly enough when I was here recently. I guess what bothered me the most was the fact that the store felt very dirty and generally unkept in nature. I also didn't feel very appreciated as a loyal Verizon customer here in this store, or with Verizon as a company in general anymore. Another thing is that this store feels like it's empty inside, it's a huge waste of valuable resources, such as retail space if you ask me. Other companies could use that retail space that Verizon os wasting right now, and Verizon could use the extra savings in the long run as well. Verizon would do very well to spend extra time, money, and resources, to revamping their entire lineup of retail stores, look, act, and feel. I'll try to update my review to elaborate on this a bit more later on. I also don't plan on returning to this Verizon Store ever again and so I'll just say this now, it's extremely terrible that you can't call Verizon Store directly in order for you to ask vital questions ahead of time. On top of this, you are never able to get a straight answer from someone at Verizon, even when you ask someone a vital question! I wasted a lot of time and energy going to this store, only to be turned away by the Store Manager immediately. It's a shame the the Manager at this location is either being force to use Covid as an excuse or purposely using Covid as an excuse to cover up the fact that you literally can't call Verizon Store directly. They send you right to corporate anytime you try. While I'm on the subject, Verizon has upset me very much recently by deciding that customers who owe a bill, are treated with such disrespect now, that they are no longer worthy of being permitted to speak to Customer Service directly, until they pay their Verizon bill. What is this truly terrible customer service, and why would anyone even decide to stay with Verizon Wireless, as their cell phone provider, after they've been blatantly disrespected like this, and treated as if their lives truly have no value to Verizon Wireless, if they don't have any money to pay their bill at any point in time throughout their time with Verizon. I'm the type of person that ALWAYS remembers the way that I'm treated when I have money and then when I don't have money. I've just determined that Verizon Wireless doesn't deserve anymore of my money. I don't respect them as a company any longer. Verizon should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat people who face times in there life when they are struggling financially. As a company, Verizon Wireless doesn't seem to actually care about their customers, they just appear to on the surface. I'm finally ready do say this more openly on Yelp and share my experiences with the Yelp community. I'm a multiply disabled and a very recent victim of domestic violence and that domestic violence left me even further disabled in life. Please trust me when I say that Verizon Wireless doesn't care at all if you are going through a severe crisis, they could care less if you suffer from a severe trauma, or catastrophic injury that leaves you disabled and helpless in life. You can't even call Verizon before your bill due date, informing them that you are truly a VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (WITH AN OFFICIAL COURT ORDERED RESTRAINING ORDER as proof of that domestic violence), and they will not only tell you that they aren't able to continue providing your LITERALLY LIFE SAVING SERVICE because they've determined that you've reached the maximum allowable amount of extensions in your service plan. The WORST part, is that all of this occurs AFTER you pay Verizon Wireless $300 towards your Verizon Bill! If this wasn't bad enough, VERIZON WIRELESS LITERALLY blocks their LOYAL customer's access to vital services, preventing them from speaking to anyone human in the customer service area of the company, until after you PAY your BILL. They literally say that you dont have access to that service UNTIL you pay your BILL. So, according to Verizon Wireless, people of low income, or people facing an emergency situation in life (such as domestic violence), aren't worthy of speaking to customer service, until they pay their bill. Unfortunately, Verizon Wireless doesn't tell you this stuff when they sell you the service plan, so sadly, you find this information out the extreme hard way, when you can't use your cell phone to talk to Verizon Wireless AT ALL, during an emergency situation. Yeah, I'm VERY upset right now. Oh! AND Verizon Wireless tacks on fees like you've never seen it before. They charge you $10 for speaking to customer service directly and arranging to pay your bill, even during an EMERGENCY situation. The customer service team at Verizon Wireless has NO ability to wave this charge/fee. Please know that this is me actually holding back as I write this scathing review right now. read more

Maye, the Verizon representative, went above and beyond, helping me resolve my situation. I was having issues transferring my mobile number from another provider. For 5 days, I was unable to use my device. The device kept showing that I needed an unlock network code. Originally, I had come in 5 days ago, and another representative had helped me. However, he took my SIM card from the current provider that I had, which caused the network not to send me my code to unlock my device. Maye came to my rescue, and she provided excellent professional service with compassionate understanding. She went above and beyond to assure me that the issue would be resolved, and she did a great job doing so. Within 30 - 45 minutes, my transferred device was working. I recommend Maye to if you are looking for opening a new line and bringing your device over. She will provide a smooth transfer of your number and device with an excellent job read more

The location is accessible (Target shopping center) with plenty of free parking. I made an appointment online but ended up going in earlier and no one was there on a Monday afternoon. I was helped by Ricardo and I was very disappointed with his lack of service/support. It seemed like he was rushing to help me to get off work. No one else was waiting to it definitely wasn't a lack of time. He was rude and unhelpful from start to finish. So much so that I then had to go home and spend 35 minutes on the phone with customer service to fix his mistakes and lack of service . Luckily, the phone customer service was great. This review is specifically for Thai. He used to work at the Eastridge location and sold me my iPhone 7 (brand new) a few years ago. Recently, when I called Verizon to check its trade-in value, I was told the phone was blacklisted as stolen and that I couldn't trade it in. So I gave up on the trade-in and went to this location on King just to buy a brand new phone. I was surprised to find Thai working there now. When I approached him to ask about the blacklisted phone, he did not even look up from his phone to answer me. He was playing a game and simply dismissed my concerned with "You can call corporate to ask about that," never making any eye contact with me during the whole exchange. Definitely something sketchy going on and he was not wanting to deal with it. He was extremely rude and had NO interest in helping me at all. Please DO NOT go to him for any of your phone needs. The other employees were far more helpful, but Thai definitely ruined my whole phone buying experience with his poor attitude and rude demeanor. read more

What is going on at this location?!? "Appointment only" yet there are 12 people in the store, 7 were verizon reps. 4 were sitting around joking and chatting. They dont "allow" walkins and you are not allowed to wait around in case other appointments no-show. What the heck is the deal here. "Customer service" is "customer enablement", this place is managed to literally BLOCK you from getting help. Verizon obviously doesnt use their time well, or value their customer's time. On November 10th, 2018 I went the Verizon store to upgrade to an iPhone XR. Thai was the sales person working with me. When I bought the phone, Thai asked if I would like to buy insurance, I said no, because I already have "Total Equipment Coverage" ($6.95 per month). I saw Thai add something on his iPad, it looked like he was doing something sneaky. I had a strange feeling he was adding the more expensive insurance plan on my line. Sure enough, I just looked at my next bill and that's exactly what he did, I'm now being charged for "Total Mobile Protection" ($13 per month), which is the more expensive plan that I don't want, and never asked for. The only difference between the two plans is that the $13 insurance plan includes a tech coach, something I definitely would never pay for, as I'm certified to repair these phones, I definitely don't need a tech coach. The most important thing when making any purchase is trust in the sales person. Thai and Verizon wireless have completely lost my trust. It's one thing to try and convince people to buy the more expensive insurance plan, and if someone decides to buy it then that's fair, but to add it behind their back, and hope they don't notice when they sign the receipt is a scam. I did contact Verizon Wireless customer service, and they changed my account back to my previous insurance plan. I will never go back to that Verizon Store for any of my needs, and I hope disciplinary action is taken against Thai for trying to scam a customer that's been with Verizon for 14 years. read more

I just canceled Verizon wireless and joined (Metro/ T-mobile) cellular. Verizon have very bad customer services!!. I asked, one of the female customer services. If she can help me to reduce my monthly phone bill from $153 for 2 lines ( to cheaper plan)? She reply, can't find any promotion to reduce my phone at this time. I found customer service lady not very helpful, not friendly, and not professional. So I decided to sign-up (Metro/T-mobile) as of yesterday (March-8-23). I only pay only $68 for 2 line including unlimited 5G, texts, talks and hot-spot. I save about $100 per month for 2 lines. I will not go back to Verizon ever again!! Obviously, they don't like to take returns at this location. I came in looking for a case for my new Galaxy s3. I just recently came from a different location and purchased a case that I wasn't too happy with. I walked in and got approached by Thai the man I was speaking to on the phone about the cases. During the phone conversation, I tried to tell him what my concerns were, but he kept interrupting me before I was even finished with my sentence. I got frustrated since I was driving so I just thought I'd deal with it there. (I also called the Eastridge location where they were very friendly, and even put me on hold to take a look at the cases and tell me about them). Once I got there I was shown the cases they had, which were the same exactly ones. I told him nothing interested me and that I would actually like to return the case I had. He tried to convince me not to, saying well you have 14 days. & I see in another review that in their eyes its 13 days. I told him I'd rather just return it now because I'm unhappy with it. His tone is suddenly different. He asks, where did you get it? I told him I got it at Stevens Creek, since I just came from that area. He said I had to go back to that location to return it. THATS LIKE 20-30 MINUTES AWAY. I was like wait what? This has never happened to me before. What are you talking about? & he goes, hold on. He goes to his associate and tries to interrupt him when he's already helping another customer. Then drags him to the back, and comes back out to tell me the same thing. I say, show me where it says it in your return policy, this has never happened to me before. I look it up on the computer, on the wall, on the receipt and don't see anything. Coldly he continues to convince me otherwise, saying I can only exchange but can't return here. What?? After arguing with him again he goes hold on. & I wait again... He comes back and says in a rude tone, we can do it for you this time but next time return it at the other store. & I'm like ok.. not sure what to feel, because I'm upset I was treated like that but relieved that I got the service I was supposed to get in the first place. But I shouldn't of had to deal with that in the first place. Then after the whole mess I think to myself well at least it got returned. So I say, Thanks! and he just stares me down coldly without a word. Ugh. Frustrated, I called customer service to ask about their return policy. AND GUESS WHAT? I was right. All Verizon corporate stores all have the same inventory so they should be able to take returns from one another. Guess it was just sheer laziness. read more

Watch out for promises of having a high reimbursement for your trade in phone. I had a X I Phone traded in back in 2021 and I still have to see the reimbursement in my bill. I call and chat and all I get is promises or I get cut off. They had promised $800 and I have not seen a penny in the meantime I have to pay the I phone 13 I got every month. It is fraud. I am waiting to see some reimbursement from my X phone and finish paying the new one to go to another provider. Do not fall for it, I am sorry I did. I use the store to go make a payment... In the past I have bought a phone there before... The employees are very young... But they seem to know most of their job most of the time... Sometimes they don't know how to get into a particular screen on the computer... And that's a little frustrating... Verizon service in general... Is on the pricey and... Hi fellow Yelpers! So, Our daughter turned 18! Well, last spring, and now that she landed a good job and her own income it's time she was weened off our data plan. She's started to establish her own independency and for starters, wants her own carrier, her own plan and her own phone. She's very excited! Before I continue, this review is based solely on my personal experience today. The two stars? Well, we decided to give our local Verizon store the business rather than go to a better rated location outside of San Jose. We strolled into the S. King Rd location in the Target shopping center. As soon as we walked in, smiles and all, we we're greeted by Allie ( I hope I pronounced her name right, I apologize in advance), very arrogant, smug and honestly I was turned off by her greeting. I initiated the conversation and stated that our daughter was looking for her own plan and had previously spoke to our carrier on how to transfer her number to Verizon. She immediately corrected me with a sarcastic tone in her voice that I was misinformed by my carrier. A " Great! Let's see what we can do for you today" or " Ok, let me get your information and we'll see how we can assist you today" would have sufficed. Or any related limerick. Yes, I'm a parent in his mid forty's and yes, I'm a firm believer in treating people with kindness but every now and then we stumble into situations like these. I politely tried to make conversation while she was looking up models for our daughter and asked if she managed this store, without letting me finish she interrupted and said she managed numerous other competitor stores and had extensive experience. Good. Any experience in customer service? Hence, manage "numerous" stores, hmm.... At the end, I stayed put and let our daughter finalize her contract. She was happy, and so was I about her purchase. I have been a Verizon customer since 2014. I have never had an international call facility enabled for the last five years. I do have a travel pass when I travel internationally. I always use Viber or Whatsapp for calls which are not local to the US. I noticed a charge of $24.95 on account for an international call. When chatted with an executive he confirmed there was no active international service prior or after the day of billing. He said he would reverse the charge. To my surprise, he credited back only $20. I have the chat record of him acknowledging the mistake and making it right. When I called today to understand why the entire amount was not credited back, the lady on the phone said, the charges are correct. There is an active international service on the phone. I asked her how is it that since 2014, never an international call was made from this phone. I call international a lot, but I always use cheaper services. I do not have an active international service. I have never requested one. The whole thing smells a scam. If you don't notice the charges, you will end up paying and help Verizon get extra revenue stream. Pay attention to your bills and be aware that you may have been billed falsely in the past. I will now move to a pre-paid connection with another provider to control what these wireless companies will bill when you are busy to scan every monthly bill closely. read more

I had the worst experience ever with customer support. So when we joined them apparently there was a contract that the worker never ever went over it with us before we left. I came here right after my very unpleasant encounter at the Verizon inside of Eastridge mall. I walked in and was greeted with big smiles. "Hi, how can we help you?" - I need a phone "Great, what phone were you looking for?" - I'm trying to trade in mine for the iPhone 7 plus, please. "Unfortunately we only have the rose gold 128gb in stock right now, would that be okay? We can check around for more if you'd like. Can I have your name and number so I can set you up with one of our associates to help?" -Yannie xxx-xxx-xxxx "Great, it'll just be a couple mins" I was helped by a nice gentleman that explained the promotion they had going on and what I would be expecting to pay. He even checked my phone for it's trade in value. He talked about other promotions they had going on currently, etc. He even went to make sure they absolutely didn't have the gold phone in the stock. We even had a back and forth about whether I should just get the rose gold, but he encouraged me to get what I came for. Unfortunately, they didn't have the white/gold iPhone that I wanted so he helped me order one to my home in 1-2 business days. Terrible customer service! I pay WAY too much for two phones, same price as a car payment! I told the Verizon rep, I have a device that isnt charging, I wanted to change the plan, and get a glass screen protector put on my phone. After staring at his tablet for a half hour asking me pointless and off subject questions, he referred me to the 800 number. Left with no changes to my ridiculous bill, still nonworking device (that I am paying for) and no glass screen protector. Bye Verizon, our 10 years has come to an end. read more

Every month without fail (on the 11th or 12fth between 2 and 2:18 PM, Verizon changes my billing from ebilling to paper billing. Every month they assign a ticket for the problem and every month they close it without ever doing anything. Not once have they verified it is has been fixed. Sound like an automated computer glitch. Sure does to me. Yet Verizon will do nothing about it. The company must be filled with incompetents measured on how many tickets they close, rather than really helping their customer. read more

What a Crook!!! Be careful when making purchases here. Sam told my old age mother that she's getting a deal on accessories. He said that it's a "bundle". He made her think that he gave her a sweet deals and the $169.88 was going towards her upgrade for iPhone 6 plus. I pulled up the receipts and the whole amount was for accessories. $44.99 for wallet folio $69.99 for blue tooth stereo headset (my mother doesn't even know how to use it) $22.99 for car charger (this is useful so not a problem) $18.74 for screen protector (why would she need this if they already sold her the wallet which covers the screen. Maybe double protection is worth it, so ok ill buy it) Who the hell would spend $169.88 on accessories when all these items can be found on amazon for 1/2 the price. To make sure I'm being fair, I called another verizon store about the "promotional bundle", and found out that it is only $70. Sam you are a crook. Shame on you for taking advantage of older people. You made her think that you were so nice and gave her a deal. Matt (the manager), I'm glad you back your employee up, but you might want to think about how you are managing people to make them think that it's ok to do this to make a sale. The five starts are for Alfredo (Freddy), the rest of the staff is very careless and not professional at all. I had an issue with a manager and an employee; to make long story short... when I bought my phone I was offered insurance and I took it. Well, my iphone "off" button stopped working, so I went into the Verizon store assuming my phone was insured. An employe named Carlos looked at my account and informed me that apparently the insurance was never added. I explained to him that I added it, I was certain I said yes (as in the past I knew how important it was to have insurance after losing a phone.) However, it made sense that the insurance wasn't added because I started to recall that when I went into the store to active my phone the customer service rep was too busy looking at his own phone and half ass helping me. I was getting frustrated because I kept explaining to the Rep that I added the insurance and that it was their mistake not mine, what really got me furious was when he said "well, its your word against our employee's word." I honestly couldn't believe he had said that. I couldn't believe the lack of service and poor skills. Its so funny how on the phone I get top notch service and yet in the store its a completely different story. They offered some suggestions to fix my problem but I wasn't taking care of the fact that I was given wrong information. Later on I called and I requested to speak to the manager who I had dealt with when I had gone to the store, she was already gone so instead I spoke to Alfredo (I assume he is another manager) he heard me and understood my situation. It was urgent as I was going to be on travel and needed things fixed asap. Alfredo asked a serious of question and gave me some information to move forward and he even followed up. He was very polite and professional. All in all, I guess we are better off calling verizon instead of going to the store. Thankfully Freddy was able to help me and handle my issue. Ordered a new phone online Monday night to be picked up at this store. Go in when they open the next day and they say don't have an order for me. They say I need to wait to be notified it's ready to be picked up (it would have been nice to be informed of that when I ordered it). I wait and wait and come Friday morning I call and they say they don't have an order for me. I hop online and find out the order has been cancelled because I never picked it up! A phone call or text would have been nice before this happened! I've been on hold with 2 Verizon reps for over 1/2 an hour while they try to figure out how to fully undo everything in the system just so I can order a new phone again and go through this annoying process of waiting again. read more

Typically trying to change anything on your account takes a-lot of time and a huge headache. Its back and forth just trying to get the rep to understand what you need, and than a bunch of info everyone search and tries to find. So i was very very very surprised on how easy it was on my last trip to the Verizon store. Erik at Verizon very quickly understood what we wanted to do, got all the stuff set up, tested and working without any issued or back and forth. In fact he even looked online to see if there was any promotions we had potentially qualified for and got us a Mastercard value of $150 dollars for bring our own device. The team here at this location will always go above and beyond to make sure you leave happy. I cannot express enough how great the service was I have received the past few days even with the issue with a faulty sim card. I felt valued. As a customer for almost 10 years that they were doing everything in their ability to make sure I was a satisfied customer. This is why I stay with Verizon. You can't beat the customer service. Definitely not coming back to this location! Opened up an account back in December the worker (forgot HIS name) was helping me he told me I didn't have to pay my bill until January, but he forgot to mention that I would be paying two bills at once! Since I didn't know and no worker seemed to explain why my bill was so high I was also behind on payments! Finally called customer service because something wasn't right! Now I know why! If people come for a new iPhone they will leave with it so why not tell the whole truth??
