I just recently moved into a new apartment in Freeport and decided to get Fios for home internet. Upon purchasing through the customer service chat line, they waived the setup and router fee.. awesome! Setting up the installation appointment was a breeze. The installation window was from 1-3pm and the installer came out right on time, literally right at 1pm. The apartment has never had fios before and installation looked a little tricky, given the amount of insulation between the walls and odd angles from the outside. David was able to find solution after solution and had my 300mbps internet up and running super smoothly in under two hours. He was friendly, down to earth, knowledgeable and super professional. I'm excited to finally have internet again without having to duck into coffee shops all the time or relying on my phone's spotty hotspot. #teamFios read more

Alyssa took such great care of me; answered all my questions (and knew what she was talking about); and got me just the phone I wanted/needed, at the best price, and got me fixed up, backed up and on the road with my phone (that she had in stock), within minutes. I never like that Verizon stores always have low Yelp ratings, but I know that it's just because disgruntled people slam them. I, for one, like to make sure to help others find good service like Alyssa and Merrick Verizon, whenever I need new equipment. 4/27/19: and just like that I am back at my favorite Verizon store. I wanted to pre-order 3 iPhone 16 Pro's. In order to receive the on-going promotion I needed to upgrade the phone plans as well. The sales associate was rude and became agitated by me asking billing questions / how changes would impact future bills. We ended up ordering the phones. Once received and awaiting the first new bill, I found out that I had options added to my account and plans that I never authorized. I have now spent multiple hours making calls to Verizon 611 in order to correct these billing issues. I will ultimately end up leaving Verizon, both mobile and home, due to this experience. I refuse to do business with a company like this. All in part due to the Merrick location. read more

Horrible customer service. As a Verizon customer for over 14 years and having used this location for at least 10 years it's sad to say after my interaction today I will never use this store again. After waiting 1/2 hr, understandable, then waiting after someone with an appt, again understandable, I was met by attitude by the representative. After asking the representative to lose his attitude I was told "I never give anyone an attitude" a first from customer service. The manager, from across the store, told me that he did not believe I was receiving an attitude. At that point the manager informed me that I could go to another Verizon store which I gladly did. In and out of the other location in 1/2 hr with a new phone vs 1+ hr plus in the Merrick location with no phone, attitude, no sale for them. Never ever again. read more

The good and the bad. The "good" is that Annise works there and totally serves her customers taking care to explain everything in detail when it comes to the rather complicated process of upgrading your phone and plan. My initial visit and purchase with Annise went rather smoothly. However the "bad". When I had to return to the store on two occasions to find out what went wrong with my order I had to deal with other staff members and a manager. Having been spoiled by Annise's attention to customer service I was shocked to find the rest of the team somewhat defensive and dismissive. I was instructed to call customer service to see what if anything they could do for me. Since I would believe that the deals offered by Verizon are the same no matter which of their stores you go to I strongly suggest that you choose another Verizon facility for your business needs. read more

I asked for the most simple, feature free flip phone available. The phone thru sold me sad too complicated fior mom. When I returned the phone the manager Brian cold and really not interested in trying to help. By the way, I also bought a new smart phone for myself at the same time.. My son lives in Queens and dropped his Verizon tv service, so he needed to give back the boxes. The list of places to return had nothing close to him and he does not have a car, so I volunteered to take the equipment back. He was told that this location could do that. I called the number listed in the web page to schedule an appointment. You can't just walk in an do something. They also do not talk on the phone, because the pleasant lady I talked to was from a remote office. She cheerfully made an 11 AM appointment to return the boxes. When I got there I was immediately told that they don't do that. "We get these problems all the time," said the cheerful man. REALLY? With all of Verizons billions, they don't know where you can deliver a cable box. I'm afraid I was not nice to this man who, to be fair, DID give me a list of places that really do take them in. (Hint - there are not many). Maybe someday I'll visit this store again, after they decide to be a real store again, but I doubt it. The store blocks away on Merrick is worlds better. read more

Had the worst experience with this location. First they told us they couldn't help us switch our plan, and had us leave to go to a different location. We called corporate who assured they are an authorized dealer and have to help us with our situation. We went back and spoke to one of the managers, Vincent, and nicely explained we talked to corporate and they were confused on why you told us you could not help us out. He decided to help us... with the worst attitude. We decided not to give them our business and go to another Verizon dealership in the town over and told him our problem we had with this location. I have visited this store several times and always had really good service. My 2nd to last visit was 10 minutes before they were closing. I had just dropped my phone the night before a business trip. My phone was shattered and I was a bit stressed. They stayed late, set me up with a new phone and ensured I knew how to use the cloud to recover my data. Tonight I came in 30 minutes before closing and they were again very helpful. My coverage had been spotty and they set me up with a new SIM card and gave me good advice. Understanding the technology behind phones and coverage can be daunting. The staff at this store have always help me understand how to optimize my service and I'm thankful for that. read more

This store is the WORST. The customer service is terrible. Ryan and the manager were as stale as bread and their explanation of the plans is on an iPad mini calculator. No visual breakdown of data on a chart. They let my wife walk out without a care in the world as she was trying to switch from sprint to vzw. They are a bunch of liars and arrogant lazy employees who didn't even try to make it a positive experience. The store itself is so bland and uninviting to walk into. This is a horrible place and I would highly recommend staying away. Terrible. I went to this store because I had spoken to Verizon on the phone who told me I could get an upgrade on my phone, they would cancel the remaining payments and move me into a new phone. I asked if I could just go to the store in Merrick and do it since I was passing by it instead of waiting for it to be shipped. He said absolutely. So I went. I walk in and this girl lacklusterly greets me barely looking up from her iPad. I tell her what the rep told me and she said no that's not avail for my phone. I said ok, well they told me over the phone it is, can you call them? She just stared at me. So I said to her what can you offer me then? She offered me a trade in which pretty much was the same amount as my payoff so.... I told her the phone I wanted. The whole time she was acting like I was annoying her. She asked me if my phone was backed up, I said yes. She takes forever to find me the new phone and then argues with me when I said I wanted a 64 not a 128. She hands me the phone and tells me to go home and set it up. I said can't I set it up here? I have errands to run and need a working phone. She said no we don't have WiFi. What? This is the 3rd phone I've purchased from a store and I've never left without my phone being fully functional and my info transferred. She offers to give me a box to send back my old phone and again tells me to go home and set it up. I said nevermind, I'll just deal with it later. Why does a Verizon store have no WiFi? How do you have customers leaving without fully active phones? Next time I upgrade I'll just deal with the customer service on the phone and wait a few days for my phone to arrive. First I have to admit I'm starting to hate Verizon in general. My home Fios is slow as anything and they charge MORE to remove channels from lineup.. I'm held hostage with triple play nonsense when I don't even need home landline. But my real issue is getting anyone competent on the phone. Several calls and I get different prices and answers. As for this location.....not impressed. The manager guy, think his name is Rob, is cocky and seems to stand around in storefront with bunch of other sales associates yacking away endlessly. I had a question and he never stood upright and uncrossed his legs or took elbow off counter. Was like "why are you bugging me" I felt. The Massapequa store is very helpful and respectful and professional. And at this Merrick location I asked one salesperson what difference was between iPhone 5 and 5s and he said nothing really disparagingly. WRONG!!!! The S model has completely new processor chip, better camera, and many other improvements. He thought he was a tech guru too. I'll never walk in that location again. I first have to say that the launch of the iPhone 6 on Friday was my first and only experience at this location. So I am only reviewing the handling of the release, not the day to day management or service. The staff was very nice but senior management could have handled the line of 40 or so people waaaay better. They made everyone stand outside for at least a couple of hours (I waited 1.5 hrs) in the freezing cold. They only let 8 people into giant, warm store at a time. So one customer goes, one let in. That was ridiculous. This is not a Manhattan Apple store crush. The 30-40 people would not have inundated the staff. Other Verizon stores have a very orderly procedure for customer lines. A staffer with their tablet wither digitally checks each person in by order or under regular circumstances you sign into a computer yourself. Names go up on a screen time stamped and nobody gets ahead of anyone else. My Biggest complaint was they only told the line that the iPhone 6-plus was unavailable. They FAILED to tell anyone the 16 G was ONLY available in GOLD. I waited 1.5 hours for nothing. Just to pre-order as I could have done at home. Waiting to ship Oct 5 now. The salesperson really pushed the gold OR the 64GB models silver or gray models. I don't need to pay and extra $100, over the $230 upgrade, for a color and data storage amount I don't want or need. So that's it. I felt the handling of iPhone 6 was very poor. But staffed were extremely nice and polite nevertheless. read more

This specific Verizon store, located on Sunrise Highway in Merrick, is so much better than going to the mall. I'm technology challenged, and usually wait until the kids come home to fix my "bugs", but since I don't anticipate seeing them for a long time, i had to go to the folks who get paid to deal with my idiocy. Been here twice and both times were a breeze. There are a plethora of people in Verizon attire just waiting to help people like me. They fixed the problem and I was out the door in mere minutes. Whoever is doing the hiring here is also clueless. There is no customer service training. There is no professionalism. It is an exercise in utter frustration that will test the very limits of your patience. Starting with the way they got around to calling my name (first there was a long casual conversation amongst themselves while I stood a few feet away watching and listening because I knew I was next), and then the little girl looked at her ipad and even though I was the only person standing there staring at her she called out my name as though we were going to start fresh now, after I heard her talk about her weekend to the other kid for 15 minutes while I stood there waiting. ...Really? I don't even want to go on but I will.... She was incapable of answering my questions and so she vanished and eventually an older guy (and by older I mean: he would be the camp counselor. She would have been the CIT) materialized. No explanation as to what happened to the little girl who was "helping" me. He simply reeked of attitude. And it went on from there. And I knew exactly what I had come in for! There wasn't a question of me purchasing a product - a Samsung S5 - I was simply replacing my phone. But I do have Verizon as a carrier, unfortunately. And Verizon is hanging on to my business by a thin thread, believe me. I would never set foot in this place again and I would give no Yelp stars if I could. I don't normally like to trash places on Yelp but this should be a wake up call to whoever is in charge of these things (IS ANYBODY LISTENING??). I can't give enough criticism here; the inmates are running the assylum! And no-one should have to subject themselves to arrogance on this level. Take your dollars elsewhere. read more

I had one good experience here but it was overshadowed by all the other terrible ones. I was misled about certain deals and ended up paying more despite getting a "promo deal." These guys all have commission breath and it is obvious. It should have been a red flag when I walked in and everyone was on their phone and the rep that approached me rolled his eyes when I spoke to him. I recently went into Verizon to get a new phone. Almost immediately after getting there Carlo came over to me and asked what I was there for. I didn't know a lot about the phones to pick from or the amount of storage I should pick for my needs. Carlo explained the differences to me and helped me make an informed decision. I asked him about the cloud because I wasn't sure how to make sure I didn't lose my pictures from my old phone and he explained that to me too. After all that I also didn't know how to back up my phone and then set up my new phone. Carlo not only gave me papers to show me how to set up my new phone(and told me I could come back and have him set it up instead) but also wrote out instructions for me to back up my phone before I turned my new phone on. The point is that Carlo went above and beyond to help me understand what I was doing and to make sure everything worked out for me and I really appreciate it! He is an asset to the company. read more

The customer service has deteriorated to the point of rudeness at this location. I am seriously considering switching to another carrier. I Had an appointment arrived in appointment time the general manager, Jonathan came out of the store. And would not let me in. He proceeded toask me some questions in the street. I said I really don't know I want to come in and look at the phones to decide which one I want. He said, " I can't let you in until you tell me exactly what you want . I was so upset and I said, "well I'm here to find out about the phones ,the new 12. He rudely repeated," I'm sorry I can't let you in unless you give me more information about what you want." and I said I want to get a new phonei have been a customer for 28 years and I don't know which one to get yet. He got nasty starting an argument, his mask kept falling off. I told him to put it back on please and he said," just go". I went into the store Sunday to get a part for my phone. There were 4 guys standing in the front right talking among themselves. I walked over and they said I will sign you in. I said can you help me? Mi need a SIM card. They said no you need to sign in. After waiting for 20 minutes I walked over to these guys who were doing nothing and they said, we can't help you, we only sell phones. I asked who the manager was because verizon wireless told me to go into the store and get a new sim. The person who came over said he was a lead the manager was busy. I explained what I needed and he walked me to the back where he said I needed service. Not sales so I was signed info that. A nice girl helped me and I was done in 10 minutes. The store makes me feel like they don't care to help the customers. The girl Vicky was nice but for so many people to be standing around when all I needed was a sim. Even with the new sim, my service in merrick is still extremely poor. read more
