    Oh hell no. We just…read moremoved to a new house and needed to get some type of TV service going meaning the choice was between cable (nope, sorry never again), DirecTV or Dish. Dish currently has the best pricing and so I went online to set it up which should be a relatively simple process, right? Nope. I won't go into the long, horrible story but I'm now on my third rep over 4 days and between online chat and the phone, it's well over 2 hours of my time. Bottom line, they messed up during the credit check process and ended up "locking" me out because they pinged it so many times. They promised a call back to complete the process which of course never happened and when I finally did get set up complete they tried to bait and switch me to a more expensive package. On top of that, more than one rep tried to get me to give them a second credit card number - even though they acknowledged the first one worked just fine. Super, super, super shady. The whole process was time consuming, inconvenient, frustrating and more than a little sketchy. There are very limited choices for TV service in this market and I believe all of them suck. Know that Dish is no exception and in fact, sucks HARD.

    While I back up online and offsite due to a complicated failure I was without a complete image of…read morenearly 6TB data back to 1992. Gillware and their team are true professionals. Did an online intake, received a phone call Christmas Eve morning to confirm everything. Great updates and proposal before providing a method of payment. By 30 Dec my replacement drive with 99.999% of the recovered data was in the way back to me. Do know if they needed clean rooms or the level of effort needed or the time required. Just know they took a inop drive and got the data off. Just like an lawyer, dentist, pilot or doctor sometimes you pay for experience and in my opinion it was worth for 30 years worth of files. While I hope to never need their services again, they are the only ones I would trust my digital footprint too. While not inexpensive you are paying for their knowledge and experience. If is was so simple and fast then you could do it yourself or maybe hire the "neighborhood geek" or you could pay the experts to professionally recover your important data. While my choice may not be the best for everyone glad I paid Gillware to do it. However, we will be installing a RAID 5 NAS as part of our new 3-2-1 back up plan.

A wedding is not something where you could just schedule a retake, and it was a really heart wrenching phone call I had to make to a bride and family. I felt so unprofessional and like a failure for this poor client. They were so kind and so gracious to me, and I am forever grateful for the kindness they extended back to me when I told them what happened. They truly made the best of a very crappy situation. It has been so stressful, but I'm breathing a HUGE sigh of relief this morning because I received an email from Gillware Data Recovery with a sheet of thumbnails of the images they were able to retrieve from my card with a very long, tedious, and expensive process. It is worth every penny to deliver on a promise to a client, and a reminder that double writing on a backup card camera is worth the hassle and expense during irreplaceable moments. So, fellow photographers, take note and learn from my mistake! Long story short, if you ever have a data failure, www.gillware.com is the company to call. They are absolute rockstars!
