I went to the Verizon store in McHenry. The line was almost out the door before Denny, The Manager, started checking people in. Then he stood around for awhile, and started helping random people that came in after me. After a little over an hour it was my turn. I needed to return an Internet Gateway because we moved and the service was not available. The Verizon representative on the phone told us to bring the Internet box into the store and they would take care of it. First, Denny told me he could not take care of it and what did I want him to do about it. Then I asked if he worked for Verizon, and his reply was I think you know the answer to that. After some more complaining about not getting any help, Denny offered to print a return label for me. I would like to know why he wouldn't just do that to begin with? I could have left satisfied, but he did not want to help. If he worked for me, at the travel agency I own, I would have fired him on the spot. I will never go to that store again. read more

I went in to the Verizon store in McHenry. The manager Denny told me that he doesn't have to call the main corporate for me. I told him that I am deaf and I have been coming to the store and two other employees that were there has helped me and Denny said he said that they didn't have to. I said you are discriminated me because I have a disability. If you have a disability, I would never recommend anyone to go to the Verizon in Mchenry. I am 83 yrs old and this has been one of my worst shopping experience's. I ordered a new smart phone from the Verizon Store in McHenry IL. I received a Email from the store ,it stated that WIFI was required to complete the transfer of data from old to new phone that was to be mailed to me. I called the store telephone and the the person who answered the call said there would be no problem to bring the phone in. The internet also says the same thing.. . I attempted to call the McHenry store and did not have the call answered after 21 minutes. So I drove to the store. After arriving the same lady that sold me the phone told me It is against our policy to do the transfer. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager had the same tale. I told him that I was 83 and not technically competent any longer. He said not his problem and how would it look if another customer came in and saw me doing this for you. I said I am the only customer in in the store and there are 4 Verizon people standing around listening . The manager said I cannot help you. I said POOP different spelling ! The manager said I cannot continue with you. GOOD BYE. I called the Verizon independent store in Woodstock and that they would be happy to help me. I found out that the person who helped me was a salesperson on commission, but he helped me anyway. I tried to buy a wireless charger from him ,but none are available for my phone. had a bil ling dispute and mike the manager, said they don't handle billing problems in the stores. he couldn't help me, even though when I payed my last bill in June that was not a problem.. he gave me a paper with a phone number for their Loyalty Team which turned out not to have the right number on it, as when i called they gave me the number for an act specialist, this was after spending about 15 min with Joli , ended up talking to another representative and she has told me that my problem has been resolved, but then again they told me this in July all said and sone I have spent 4hours trying to resolve this billing problem, that I thought was resolved in July, which I payed in June, and have a receipt for wouldn't recommend Verizon to anyone. Funny thing is they act like I have no choices . I will be reporting them to the BBB if I don't receive a payed receipt by e-mail within seven days. i should not have worry about my credit report for a bill I payed read more

We had a good experience here. Went on a Saturday right when they opened for a phone that wouldn't charge. Waited 10 minutes to be helped and they fixed the issue. Plus, we were there with our 2 small kids (8 months and 3 years) and two of the guys went out of their way to set up and fly a helicopter for our oldest. Today I had an extremely unpleasant and rude experience at Verizon in McHenry, IL. I arrived at the store for a return and assistance for getting screen protectors applied. I was told the wait was 45 minutes at which time I asked if I could go shop surrounding businesses during the wait time. My phone number was taken and I was told I would receive a text when my turn was up. I left and received a text about 15 minutes later at which time I promptly returned to the store. Upon entering the store, I was then told I couldn't complete my transactions today since it was a busy weekend. I advised the manager that all of the Verizon store locations have been closed in path to his store. Which, is over an hour away. I asked if I could wait, if I could please get the assistance needed. The answer was a loud, "no, I told you we will not help you today!" I asked, if I could wait till there was no line, since I would have to drive over an hour home and then come back. The answer a stern "i told you NO! Too bad you will have to drive". I have never been treated so rudely in a store before by anyone. With the way Verizon locations are shutting down. I would not be surprised if this location is next. If I could award negative stars I would. Also, to the store manager, who was unbelievably inappropriate and unprofessional today, please find a new job. There are many many people out of work today that would appreciate and respect having that job! read more

Went in to replace my current phone. Was told the only cost for the new phone was $30 activation fee. Bought the accessory package and tried to pay with a check. Store could not get there check processing software to work. After 45 minutes they tried putting it towards a gift card - that did not work. Instead just charged my account. Well just got my bill - was charged double for all the accessories and a gift card I did not purchase. Not only that I now have a monthly device fee for a phone that was told to me was only costing an activation fee. No it is not free - I now have to pay $800 for the phone. The rep never said to me the phone cost is x and you pay for it over 2 years. It was a flat out lie! read more

If I could give the store a negative amount of stars, I would. 1. Every time I walk in, all associates are playing games on their phones or texting. 2. The prices are incredibly high! 3. Nobody is very knowledgeable or tech savvy. 4. New store manager, Robert lacks education and class. I have seen him several times in the few times I have visited the store argue or belittle an associate on the floor. 5. The store is being poorly run into the ground and every associate i have ever spoken to, other than a few employees are disrespectful and clueless in the last few months. The last store manager (a year ago) answered my questions very promptly and resolved all my issues. I was very satisfied. The recent change of management has completely made me sick and made me realize that I'm not only paying more for service BUT management and customer service is no longer there. T- Mobile. Here. I. You must ask for ALEX! He knows what he's doing, he is energetic, honest and hardworking. Last night I went in to upgrade my phone after working with him a week ago upgrading my daughter's phone. The first salesperson who assisted me last night was worthless and lazy. I needed customer service assistance because of an issue with my account. Had Alex not seen me and had not come over to assist me along with the first salesperson, I would have walked out of the store without a phone. Alex took the time to call customer service and inquire about my accout. Very simple issue. Not only did he resolve the problem but he saved me even more money than I had expected! When I first walked into the store a sales rep met me. I told him I wanted a certain phone and he immediately started to sell me accessories for the phone he hadn't even shown me yet. When I told him to forget the accessories for now he started to write the order but his attitude was lousy and very condescending. He said he was just helping the people at that store and he is usually at a different location. I was this close to walking out and purchasing online. Fortunately, he called over a different sales rep because his tablet wasn't working right. When the new sales rep took over, everything changed. The new rep, Guy, was very courteous and was extremely knowledgeable about the phone and it's features. He finished the sale without an attitude and I did indeed purchase one of the accessories that the first rep tried to sell. But Guy was pleasant and showed me the nice features and not in a pushy way. I am very happy with my service and my new phone. I will be sending all my friends to see Guy because of his great customer service. If I had only dealt with Guy, I would have given a 5 star rating but the first rep ruined that. See Guy if you go in- you'll see what I mean. read more

Don't even waste your time with this place. Go to the internet for better service and no sales tactics. I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted - PHONE ONLY. This sales person continued to sell me other items that I continually said no thank you to. He then tried to talk me into Verizon EDGE for the phone. I told him I have one phone on that plan and I wasn't interested at all for this phone. He proceeded to try to draw out some ambiguous calculation that wasn't true and again told him no. I told him to stop trying to sell other items that I've already told you no to and he again insisted I look at what he was writing down to prove I wasn't making the right choice. I told him no one final time. I asked how much longer before my new phone was ready and he said he just needed me to revisit the EDGE plan as I was not giving it enough consideration. Really?!?!? I told him no for the 5th time and grabbed my phone and walked out the door. I drove home, went online, ordered my phone (only!!) and didn't have anyone else trying to sell me a tablet, fitbit, bluetooth speaker...ALL of which I told him no no less than 6 or 7 times!! They do not reserve even a portion of a star. They lost my business permanently. read more
