I wanted to purchase a new iPhone 13 Pro Max one Sunday afternoon. I was paying cash and just wanted to get the phone, regardless of the carrier. Having already stopped at Best Buy and having literally been sent out the door because I wasn't interested in signing a new contract, I wasn't sure where to go next. I had $1,500 in my pocket and I wanted the new iPhone... Boo Best Buy.... Boo you! Anyway, I was driving up the road and saw the Verizon store and thought, "Hey, they have good service coverage". I had Verizon service once upon a time and didn't have any complaints and anything had to be better than what Best Buy had just pulled. I walked into the store and was greeted by who I would later discover was the General Manager, Ava. She was very personable and got me into their service queue. I waited for about 10 mins (they were reasonably busy - so not a long wait at all) and was greeted by an associate named Michael. I explained what I wanted to do and what had happened at Best Buy and he laughed and told me about a perfect solution to my custom situation. Bottom line. I didn't sign a contract. I got the new iPhone 13 Pro Max I wanted (in the desired color and size). I paid for the phone outright with cash. The phone will unlock automatically in 60 days, but I have Verizon prepaid service until I decide which carrier to stick with for the long haul. I purchased a case and a screen protector after examining the display models. I left the store with my new iPhone activated, transferred, protected, and ready to rock inside of 2 hours (I stayed in the store until my data transfer was complete - you could shave 1.5 hours off this time if you did that at home). Michael was extremely knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and courteous throughout my entire experience. The store was quite busy the entire time I was there, but Ava, Michael, and the other staff members always took their time with me and made my time there feel valued and important. I don't know what these other reviews are based on. In my experience this Verizon store offers flagship products and exceptional customer service while still offering excellent deals and reasons to choose them over the competition. I found out after I left that I was actually going to save $300 off my phone bill over the next 12 months if I decide to keep the service. It's in the form of a $25 credit applied to my account every month. Quite the nice little surprise. Just another reason to give them a try! Ask for Michael or Ava, you won't be disappointed. ***By the way: I just read the rest of the reviews for this store and I have to be honest... I didn't see *ANY* signs of laziness, rudeness, or disgruntled customers. To be truthful, I think all of these negative reviews are an angry 10% making 90% of the noise online. For every one bad review on Yelp I'd be willing to bet there are 50 customers who are satisfied but silent. Think about it... don't believe every negative comment you read. Especially when the person posting the review can't spell or properly form sentences. I'm positive the majority of complaints I've read concerning this Verizon Store are a bit.... exaggerated. I have wasted hours of my time trying to get a "promotional credit" that never came. I was promised $1200 credit for a phone upgrade and Verizon customer service which is completely outsourced to another country has no record of anything happening at local branches. I was told by the local branch that I didn't have to trade in my old phone and customer service made me mail it in and couldn't find it after it was sent with their shipping label. I have spent 4 hours at least on the phone with promises and false assurances over and over with this company. I wouldnt recommend Verizon to my worst enemy. read more

I have been through hell trying to switch my services over to this company. Their customer service wether it be in-store or over the line phone is absolutely TERRIBLE!!!! Most places try and accommodate you to get your business but these people are rude and will argue with you from get go. I went into this location tryi to get some help as my money is all tied up with them over my Drivers license which is valid. I didn't catch her name this morning on 5/11/23 around 9 AM but she was more than rude when I came. I tried to explain my situation multiple times and she got really snippy with me. Bad bleached hair and piercings. I was so put off with how I was treated I left. Reasons for my 5 start review- I went in after 5 attempts with customer service, to fix a technical issue and Cassie fixed it in 20 mins. She knew I was PISSED and remained friendly and joked around which ultimately relaxed me. My toddler was insane, running/screaming/knocking things over..she was incredibly patient and understanding. I will most likely be calling the store before I have to go in to make sure she's the one to help me. Every time I go into Verizon they try to push the Apple Watch on me and Cassie didn't mention it. Apparently Verizon's new strategy is aggressive in-store sales. I stopped in here on a Sunday morning to buy a new case for my iPhone. They tried to sell me an iPad, ear pods, a fit bit, an Apple Watch, a bundle of accessories, and some sort of stupid car monitoring that I don't want nor need. I was wondering why sales bro was taking so long in removing the screen protector from my new otter box. While I was waiting he decided to give me print outs showing how much my monthly bill would go up if I was to add an Apple Watch, iPad, etc. Seriously, stop with the overly aggressive and super f'ing annoying sales attempts. I went into the store today to purchase cases for two new phones and see if I could get wireless charging on my new phones. Melissa was very upbeat in showing me all of the accessories and continued to repeat, "Just take it home, you have 14 days to return it." This statement was made well aware through my entire visit and repeated with everything I touched in the store. Melissa showed me the cases that would fit my phones and showed me the wireless charging doc for that would work with my phone. It wasn't until I got home that I realized I had to take the case off of my phone every single time I wanted to charge it. That would have been great information while I was in store. So going on a month and a half now I moved my number from my ex employer's plan to a personal. I originally paid $130 for unlimited data almost two years ago. My contact ends in three weeks! Sadly my ex employer was an AT&T customer and as Director of IT I moved them to Verizon because of their once good customer service. To look back see that was a mistake of judgment. I have since moved on and I no longer qualify for the 60gb of data for $200 and $10 per line biz contract. Instead as a non biz subscriber I'm being raped at $225 for 30gb and my line charge since still in contact costs me an additional $40! Yes $265 for less then I originally signed up for in my contact. So much for moore's law! This is not what earned the one star. It is the fact that I was lied too and overcharged! Once I ported my phone I had forgot about my cradle point. I used the hotspot of my phone but I couldn't talk and surf. So I call 611 and ask to activate it. They quote $20 line charge and no activation since it was not a contract. Now remember this this was just working on Verizon just weeks earlier, but to know avail could the CSR get this thin working. He tells me I will have to go into a Corp store! The closest store is 28 miles from my home. This is where the one star rating comes in. While there trying to get my cradle point going a rep named Tatiyana talks my wife into moving her iphone 6+ off of her AT&T contract to mine. She says buy paying only $15 access charge that even after paying the termination fee she will save money. So I ask 15 dollar to add her phone, no activation, and no contracts? She says yes. God I wish I had recorded her lies on my phone. So we leave and all is good. Everything works, and we have yet so see what we have really been charged. So I wake up the next day to find out all lines are dead! So another 28 mile drive and 5 hour in the store to get things working. Then comes the bill! $225 plan, $120 a month in access charges, $120 in activation fees, and the iPhone now part of a 2 year contract. 6 phone calls later and was told a credit would appear in up to 3 months! read more

There is something very strange about how this store operates. They add device insurance onto your bill without your consent. When I point to the disclaimer on the back of the bill about refusal of insurance saying "see this" as I point to it and the manager says snarkedly, "yes I see that." Like I shouldn't have an edge to myself after they bill us for what we didn't want. I plan on contacting the insurance commissioner's office about that. The bill is so confusing we had to go in there twice since we made our purchase to have it explained and we're still not sure exactly what's going on with it. My tablet wasn't able to work outside our own personal Wifi as my plan was supposed to have unlimited data. That appears to have been addressed. We were charged up front for a phone that was supposed to be free and they can't or won't explain why, we're not sure which. They have little secret meetings where you can barely hear them talking, but when I went to get closer to listen a guy comes over quickly to ask if I was checked in like hey you're getting too close to them when they're talking about you. The manager seems to not want you to talk to the original sales person as if to say we don't want that person to contradict what we're telling you. Just strange is all I can say. My analogy would be, it's like when you can smell something rotting in the ditch but the grass is too high to actually see what's causing it. read more

The first time I came in, one of the staff on the floor helped address some of my questions when trying to pick out my new device. She was helpful and even offered to help me with discounts because I didn't need all of the accessories. She even helped me sort out some billing questions I had on my shared plan. For this reason, I am giving them an extra star. I wish I could remember this one's name. I went back the next day and was served by Rebecca. She was unfriendly and never smiled! She helped me with what I needed, but seemed uninterested in helping me make my purchases. When it came time to check out, she barely gave me any information in regards to: 1. What kind of rebate I was getting and how to really go about doing it. 2. Did not ask if I wanted her to put on my screen protector, decided to do it herself, and didn't even make it straight 3. Asked me if I wanted insurance but never told me what it included 4. Did not ask me if I wanted all of the accessories but just assumed I wanted the bundle. These are just a few of the concerns I had. I think that if I never asked questions, I would have not learned about any of these things. I was less than impressed with the customer service I received. It was so poor that I almost just walked out of the store without buying anything. My family went in to upgrade several devices in December. We left feeling good about our purchases and the deals we received. Unfortunately, from there our experience unraveled. After receiving our first bill, we realized our new plan to get the promotions was starkly different than our original plan. Wanting to go back to our original plan, it then canceled our device promotions. None of this was explained to us correctly or honestly at this store. Thankfully, Verizon national customer service worked with us to correct it. THEN, our next bill came and we find that ANOTHER promotion we thought we signed up for does NOT EXIST. We thought we had 50% off a device but our finance agreement shows the Full price still due. Once again, we will have to beg to correct this. We do not trust the sales tactics at this store. They started out good and just like the other reviews say it turned into a misleading sales experience. I was talked into trying the Hum and it would only cost 5 dollars per month more on my bill. They billed my account 40.00 activation fee, and 30.00 for the Hum. But I was lucky to be able to return within the 14 days, so this is the unethical part, they charge 35.00 restocking fee. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint as well. Just in case the public is not aware these people work on commission! No beef with the actual person I dealt with, but the whole encounter reflected Verizon's reputation for poor customer service. I'm a long-term customer, and pay a hefty monthly bill, yet there was no flexibility in helping me find a more economical payment plan (I'm being charged for much more bandwidth than I use or need), or to get into a better phone. They've got me on a contract, so why bother. Moreover, their "special offers" are often misleading, with large hidden costs. I only stay with them because of their good coverage; hopefully, some other company will develop a comparable network, and treat its customers more fairly. As soon as I find one, it'll be goodbye Verizon. Oh, half-hour wait in this understaffed store, and not one comfortable chair to sit on---that tells you how much they care. read more

I was very disappointed at the service I got here. My iphone is 1 1/2 years old and was turning off on me constantly. I didn't drop it and never had problems before. I went to the store for help and they checked the battery and then told me there is nothing they can do unless I purchase a warranty on the phone. I went home and deleted old photos and videos and updated the software and it no longer shuts off. I just think it's ridiculous they told me there was nothing they could do unless I bought a warranty, when clearly there were simple things I could do to fix it!!! read more

This place is completely horrible. I have had many bad experiences here. I have been lied to, they tried to swindle me, and there is not enough staff on hand and they do not accommodate you when you come in. You have to check in at a computer or nobody will help you. If you need to make changes on your account, they won't do it for you. They make you do it at a computer. The storis about being lied to and tried to be swindled are a follows. When the Motorola Droid Razor smartphone. The sales person told me to buy it from them and not from Best Buy. She told me that they sell refurbished phones as new. I researched this and it was not true. First of all, the phone just came out on the market. Second off, I have bought phones from Best Buy and they come sealed with the manufacturers seal. Another time when I was in there, I was on there to buy a battery for a different phone. The salesperson said that he could just sell me another phone for the same price. We looked at phones, and they were all higher priced than the battery. He was pushy to sell me the phone. When I asked about the price of these phones, he quoted me at prices higher than the full retail price listed. I have been in there with other questions about a new phone that I bought. They were not knowledgeable and it took three people to answer my question. Such horrible experiences with this store. read more

Frankie is a GREAT salesperson: very knowledgable, fun to work with, and attentive!! Alex is the manager we worked with and he is also extremely knowledgeable (and a good salesperson too). We had a defective antennae on our long-awaited iPhone 6; it couldn't be authorized or connect to cellular service. Both Verizon and Apple tried hard to troubleshoot over the phone for HOURS, but it was the staff at the East Wash store in Madison that resolved the issue immediately. Frankie and Alex spent much time diagnosing the problem and then acting immediately when it became clear the antenna was defective: they ordered a replacement iPhone shipped overnight!! Phone issues are maddening, given the amount of cash we pay for our phones, and after weeks of waiting we were beyond-frustrated to get a defective phone from Apple. But the staff at this store took control and resolved the issue overnight: FIVE stars for a rare level of customer service!! read more
