A 1.3 star review is not even worth it to this company. At&t is the worst service on the planet. They help with absolutely NOTHING !!!! I had one of those flip phones, I took good care of it, I didn't fold it anymore because I seen a crease starting on it so I treated it like a straight phone. It worked good for a couple years like that. Then black screen, blank, nothing. Restart it, it's ok. It did this off and on for a while. Folding the phone is expected to get a crease but I didn't fold it. Blank screen ? It wasn't that old. I paid $150+ for 2 lines. My daughters phone was just a straight phone but the battery kept dying, she charged it, it would die again shortly after. I called At&t costumer service (Multiple times) and told them the problem with my daughters phone, the girl told me that the phone was discontinued. I did not know they were gonna get rid of it. Eventually the phone completely died and is now just a paper weight. When I told the girl about my flip phone she had no answer for me. I even talked to a manager (costumer service employees are useless, they just answer phones). The manager (managers are also useless just there for a paycheck) told me I had NO insurance and they were not gonna fix my phone or do anything for me. He also told me that I'd have to pay out of my own pocket to fix the screen. Paying $150+ for 2 lines and nothing else, I thought that included insurance also. They took the insurance off my service without my permission. One place I found near me said they could take a look at my phone, replace the screen but it would cost me about $500 dollars or more to get it fixed. And for my daughter, I'd have to get her a brand new phone and STILL have to pay on her old dead phone. So I'd have to pay for 2 lines, 3 phones, $500+ and a partridge in a pear tree. AT&T is the company from .... (you know where) If you want to just throw your money away then At&t is the company for you!! I am happy to say that I don't have the stress of deal with people who just want to sit there, answer phone with an accent you can't understand and collect a paycheck that's it. I now have a different company with 3 lines and I'm now paying LESS than $150. read more

Unbelievable incompetence. I set up time for a tech upgrade to 5G yet kept receiving their oddly threatening emails to do so ("just ignore them," I was told - "they are auto-generated"). They cancelled due to the blizzard (understandable). Set up another time (for today) and I confirmed it with a phone call TO THEM on Friday. Here I sit, now told "oh, they're not coming. And if you had the app you would have known that." When I tried to address my overinflated bill with them, they said "You can drop your in-home warranty for $25/month." I switched from spectrum to AT&T early September with promise of $150 gift card. They are now refusing to send the gift card because I have not submitted a cancellation fee bill to them. That was not mentioned during the sale of the service. In addition, there was no cancellation fee from spectrum. After being online and on the phone for over 3 hours, this is not resolved. AT&T, a company with $160 billion in total revenue, apparently doesn't have the ability to refund beyond 6 months. I cancelled my service in April, 2017 and received a confirmation of "services removed." However, I've been charged monthly since then even though I am not using any services. AT&T's customer service response: check your bank statements more, our systems don't have the ability to refund beyond 6 months. I will never return as an AT&T customer and I will be telling everyone I know they should not look to at&t if they want reliable, trustworthy TV or internet services. read more

I just moved into my new apartment and had to wait a week to even get a time slot for someone to come and install my Wi-Fi. The day before I was sent numerous confirmation messages each of which I confirmed along with a phone call to remind me my appointment was between 8:00-9:00 am. In addition they messaged me in the morning saying the same thing and that a technician would call when they were on their way. At 8:50 am I still had not received any phone call so I tried calling AT&T's customer service line which quoted me a wait time of 23-26 minutes and ended up taking 40. When I finally got ahold of them I said it's now 9:45 and someone was supposed to come between 8:00-9:00. The person on the phone couldn't even really give me answer since I was the first appointment of the day and just mumbled some excuse about some emergency before you (even though he said no one was before me, also what is a Wi-Fi emergency??). He told me someone would come between 10:30-11:00 and he was sorry and would escalate my complaint (no one has reached out to me regarding this). When a technician finally called me she seemed to have no clue that she was going to be over 2.5 hours late and didn't even apologize when I explained my frustration. I would recommend looking at other Wi-Fi providers in your area if possible. read more

I had a salesperson come to my home, thought I got a good deal for cell phone service. Was screwed over on that, but stuck in a contract. Then we moved and got contacted again for internet service. Was told how wonderful fiberoptic was and how cheap it would be for the first 12 months. Was LIED to and screwed over again. By the time they figured out the bill I was done and told them to cancel. Said too late was in contract. I said screw that you lied and messed me up so mo, I wasn't going to pay. NEVER GET YOUR BILL COMBINED!!!!!. Recently I switched from Charter Cable to U-Verse and the difference is amazing!! I was really unhappy with the DVR service from Charter. It looked and functioned like something from 10 years ago. So I switched to U-Verse. Their DVR system is pretty nice and allows you to do so many different things. You are able to record 4 shows at once, along with a variety of things on demand. They offer wireless boxes, which is a plus becase we couldn't run wiring in our finished basement. It also is whole home DVR, so the shows that I record I can watch on either tv. I have had no reception issues and no customer service issues (yet). I am sure that will probably change once my 12 month locked in price is gone and I have to call to re-negotiate. I also got the 16mb internet service with wireless and have had no issues. The tech even set up my desktop in my finished basement with a wireless adapter at no charge. That was a nice surprise as I thought I was going to have to find somewhere else to go with it since I couldn't run wire. AT&T is one of the better TV/Internet options around. I have had Time Warner, Charter, Directv and Century Link and none of them are as good as AT&T. read more

I used to be very happy with AT&T and DirecTV for about three years, but for at least the last six or so months, I feel like they're just jerking me around. When I originally decided to sign up with DirecTV, I took out a higher package at a price I could live with. Two years later, I negotiated another year with a comparable price to what I already had. Up until that time, I had good experiences with AT&T and DirecTV, but after that time, my experiences have changed for the worst with this company. Where before it was easy to reach Customer Service, now it very difficult with extremely long wait time on hold before getting to a representative who makes you go through usual ID info before they will transfer you to the "Loyalty Department," and even then, they misdirect you to the wrong department. I spent 3 1/2 hours on Sunday trying to get issues with them resolved and still accomplished absolutely nothing. Most of my problems with DirecTV started when they tried to jump my prices up by around 100%. I balked at this. Suddenly, the package I had been very happy with, was priced out of being reasonable. Their option was to talk me into a different package because they told me my original package was out of date and no longer available, and that my new package would have almost every channel I was already receiving. Well, that held up for a while, but I began to see some of my favorite channels slowly start to disappear, and then, late Saturday night without any warning, I found that they took more channels off my package for a total of 17 that had been on my two favorite channels lists. I don't call that is making minor changes to my package. I originally had 36 channels on my Favorite 1 list that included the eight HBO channels they give to me for free. If we subtract these HBO channels, I only had 28 channels that I tended to watch the most. Once they did this Saturday Night Massacre, I'm now down to only 22 channels. They cut my Favorite 1 list by almost 1/5. The DirecTV rep is supposed to call me tomorrow morning to see if we can resolve these issues because it took so long to try to get anything done on Sunday with them, their Loyalty Department closed down for the night by the time they tried to reach them. I have now seen many similar complaints about DirecTV these days. If my issues aren't resolved tomorrow, I will be dropping DirecTV. When a company starts wasting my time and starts giving me the runaround, that is when it is time to leave them. I have better things to do with my life. read more

ZERO STARS!!! Horrible representatives and the worst customer service ever! I moved into my new apartment where they only accepted AT&T so sadly i had to switch from having spectrum. Internet was set up for our move in date but the previous owner didn't cancel their internet until June 7th. I moved in on May 20th. Why they didn't cancel their internet until June 7th is what I would really like to know since this person moved out May 1st!! So I called AT&T they were no help basically said they can't do anything about it I have to wait until June 7th to get my Internet. IS IT THAT HARD TO CANCEL THE PREVIOUS RESIDENT WITH THEIR UNUSED INTERNET FOR A MONTH WHEN A NEW RESIDENT LIVES HERE? That is not my problem at all, it's yours and you guys are ZERO help. Might I add that I HAVE TO WORK FROM HOME DURING THIS PANDEMIC and need the fucking internet!! Every single customer service representative would say let me check on that I'll call you back. AT&T consistently underestimates the amount of time it takes to complete an installation, and this has resulted in three unmet appointments. Each potential appointment requires a 4 hour window, and having to reschedule is incredibly frustrating and inconvenient when schedules need to be adjusted specifically to accommodate this window. read more

At my new apartment, the two options for TV and Internet were AT&T Uverse or Charter. I went with AT&T because they quoted me at a lower price. They were lying. My internet has been down for four days now, since the morning of January 1st. I called that morning and tech support sent a new DSL modem, it made no difference. I have been chatting with tech support daily and they don't have any answers, but they have assured me twice that may service will be restored by the end of the day. That hasn't happened. ATT Uverse is expensive but you get really good service and great picture quality. While navigating their online bill platform is not easy to do, their customer service is very good at making sure that you are happy. I had cancelled a service (HBO + Cinemax) but for some reason the cancellation wasn't reflected on my bill. The online customer service agent helped cancel the service and then refunded the money from the bill. Good on them! read more

I am paying just as much as competitors with half the Internet speed with intermittent days per month that I have no service and no TV. Recently I stopped getting channel 3, no warning they just pulled it off because executives can't negotiate well, you lose as a customer I lost channels I signed up for and was paying for, no credits from AT&T. Poor customer service no solutions it's a Monday through Friday 8 - 5 pm answer, so you miss work with you own a business you lose money, commission dollars at the customers expenses. Switched from Charter to AT&T because I was quoted by an AT&T door to door salesperson that I would pay $30 less for the package I currently have. No he must have meant I will pay $50 more with AT&T. AT&T internet service is also very slow even though AT&T said my internet speed is at 24 mbps! Charter was only at 6 mbps and I never lost connection! I can't wait for my bogus contract to be over with AT&T! The folks in my neighborhood feel like they were conned by this young boy sent to solicit AT&T services! I have talked to something like 10 agents regarding my issue, have been promised multiple callbacks which never come (and I have sat around waiting for them), and have no way of talking to the same agent unless THEY call ME. I switched from Charter Internet which was faster/better service to ATT Uverse as Att was having a promotion if you bundled with direct tv. So I bundled with my direct tv to have only one bill and was quoted the promotional rate. First of all they tried charging me an instalation fee when was told there would be no instalation fee, and then when I received my first bill it was more then my quoted rate. To make a long story short after speaking with multiple customer service agents who were rude, they would not give me the quoted rate even after I faxed them the email with the quoted rate. To make it worse, when I then told them to cancel my service because of their mistake and charging me more they told me I would have to pay the early termination fee. Absolutely TERRIBLE! read more
