    They go door to door selling the fiber optic "underground" internet service, except they don't tell…read moreyou that they must run an ugly cable from the pole in front of your house to your house until installation day. And when you don't agree, you must now cancel the Direct TV they sold you and return all the equipment. Be prepared for pushback from Direct TV because they don't want to refund because of "buyers remorse " The Direct TV rep told me that they are not affiliated with ATT!!

I stopped using AT&T because of this. The sales rep at the store was no longer there, who told me they had no means at the store of giving me a receipt for my cellphone trade-in. I should've hand wrote a receipt and had him sign a copy of the trade-in but I'm too trusting. My first AT&T cellphone was in 1984 and was a DynaTAC 8000X that retailed for $3,995, which would equate to over $9,000 today. I have it on my desk as a paperweight. AT&T is the gold standard of service (sadly) and I'm now with Verizon after trying 3 other cellphone services and I barely get 1/2 of a bar and constantly dropping calls. I live on 40 acres in a rural area of St Tammany Parish. I refuse to be cheated out of $1,000 plus I bought the 'new' trade-in off eBay ($350) to use for the $1,000 credit, so I actually lost $1,350 and after 40 years that's no way to treat a valued customer. I'm not a valued customer!

    Verizon sold me internet (which is the worse service I've ever had) by door to door salesman…read more because im 55 years old he said the 55$ price would be 35$/month and because I'm on disability it would be free for first 6 months then 35$. I sent them my debit card that my monthly SSDI money is deposited on and I sent them the paperwork with my name and all info from social security office and they will not stop charging me 55$/months I can't get anyone to change it or refund. they are scamers and false advertisers. I'd love to file a class action lawsuit against them. last year my wife paid for the newest 2024 iPad Pro and they sent her a 2023 older model and will not refund or take a return or just switch out for the one she paid for. all illegal and nothing can be done without taking them to court which is not worth it for these two things alone. if Verizon has ripped anyone else off and would like to file lawsuit, it's only worth it to file a class action which takes a minimum of 6 cases or maybe it's 10. its not many people but it the only way to suit for millions of dollars.     I have only had Dish for 3 weeks and they disconnected my service for not paying the bill because…read moreit's a day late,I only get paid once a month on the 1st,I called to discuss this with them and they're like make a payment, excuse me I don't get until the 1st and who disconnects service when a payment is a day late...I've always had Xfinity and never had an issue with disconnection or my payment being considered late...unfortunately where I live Dish or Direct TV are my only options,I've never known a town/city to not have a cable company...

It was the same thing every year, call them up and tell them that my bill was too high and then they would enact some discounts that would save me about $30 a month but were only good for a year. So the next year I'd have to call them up and do it all over again. Well last November when I called to complain about my bill they refused to lower the rate. I guess that now they're a part of AT&T they are unwilling to negotiate on price. So I decided to try switching to DISH. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! DISH suckers you in with their low initial rate but then once you add in extra packages to get what you want it ends up costing MUCH more. I believe their current introductory package starts off at $39. Sounds pretty good right? But wait, you want local channels? Well that's not included. You have to pay an extra $10 a month for that. Who the hell doesn't want local channels?!?! You want a DVR? That's extra also. You have 2 TV's? Yep there's an extra charge for that too. So my monthly bill ended up being $70 a month. That's quite a jump from $39 but still better than I was getting with DirecTV so I decided to go for it. The phone operator told me about the 2 year contract and I told him, "Hey wait a minute. I'm not signing up for 2 years when I haven't even tried your service out yet." I forget what he told me exactly but he definitely gave me the impression that I could cancel if I didn't like the service. When the DISH installer came out to set up my equipment I also asked him about a trial period and he told me I had 30 days to cancel. So everything was going OK until the day of the Super Bowl. We missed the end of the game so I tried to find highlights on ESPN only to find out the package I had did not include ESPN!!!! I called up DISH and was told, "If you want sports channels, that's an extra $10 a month." Gimme a break. What a scam! So now I'd have to pay $80 a month for pretty much basic cable. No pay channels like HBO. I just wanted the standard stuff like Food Network, HGTV, ESPN. So the next higher package was $84 a month and included ESPN but took away DIY and Cooking Channel!!!!! How frickin lame!!! So now I wasn't saving money over DirecTV anymore and decided to cancel the service. I had DISH send out the installer to remove their DISH and take their boxes back. To top it all off now they're trying to charge me a $500 early termination fee even though 2 people at their company told me their was a trial period!! I have filed a complaint with the Denver Better Business Buereau and I will be taking DISH to small claims court if they refuse the waive the fee. Stay far away from this company people. Their channel packages are completely predatory and set up so that the only way you can get the channels you want is to pay for the expensive plans.
