I have purchased my last two phones at this particular verizon dealer. Both experiences were amazing but this last time was outstanding. It's iPhone day and I was anxious to upgrade. I went to the store knowing I could trade in my old iPhone for the cost of the new one. (Thank you, Apple products for retaining value!) The store opened at 8 so I got there about 7:30. I was number 8 in line. No big deal. I knew I could be in and out and make it to work by 9. As I'm going through the process of buying my phone, the trade-in computer crashes. What?!?! They offer me a few different options. I could pay the $200 and bring my phone back and get a $200 verizon gift card. Um, no. I wasn't prepared to drop that kinda money that day. I had done my homework and wanted my trade-in. I had picked out my case already and was incredibly upset with the situation. Then, we come to a compromise! The CSR tells me that they will hold my purchase. They will happily put my iPhone and selected case in the back. This wasn't my fault and I had come anxious to buy my phone. A nationwide outage on the trade-in system shouldn't take away my new phone! I get off work at 6 and come back. There are still people waiting to buy new phones. What?!?! They only have the 64 GB?!?! Except for mine. Sitting in the back waiting for me to take her home. Trade-in computer was back up and running. YEAH!!! I was in and out in about 30 minutes. CSR traded my phone in and I paid taxes on the new one (oh and my accessory pack). He even helped me set up my Microsoft exchange for my work email!! read more

If you can avoid shopping at this location please do. The customer service was awful. I ordered a watch, they said they would call me when it got in and they did not. I came into the location to see if it was in and was met with problem after problem. The staff was visibly frustrated with having to figure out how to correct issues. The rep Ant was really knowledgeable and saved the day for us. We originally activated our account online thinking it would save us time, especially with two toddlers but ran into multiple issues. However, after multiple calls to customer support we decided to come into the store. That's how we met Ant. We told him all our issues and within a few minutes he was able to solve them. We are so grateful for all the things he did to get us what we wanted and will definitely be coming back in again. He was also very transparent about our options and broke down how we can save money. I went into this store on 9/17 to pre-order the iPhone XS. The order was supposedly processed...then I received an email on 9/28 stating that the order was CANCELLED. Apparently the order wasn't actually processed until that date, and the ineptitude of the store personnel caused the mixup resulting in the cancellation. The worst customer service experience I have ever had. I've been a Verizon customer for 20 years and have been to many locations in several cities. The day I went there was only one other customer in the store when I arrived. I heard someone say "May I help you" from somewhere in the store. The person who was talking to me was sitting down at a counter on an IPad. She finally looked up as I was searching for the person who had spoken. I said I thought you were a customer sitting here. She helped me with my problem, but only intermittently looked up from whatever she was doing on her device. I honestly felt I was keeping her from her personal business. I ordered a new phone and was having problems with it (i cloud and WiFi). Andrew at the Hodkins, Illinois location helped me more than anyone else. I also had a problem with my passwords and he had ideas to make it easier. He introduced me to HUM and the benefits associated with this gadget in case I break down. Where do I start? If you really want to stick with Verizon - Do not go to this location!!!! I've told everyone I know about what happened to me and I hope this can help prevent this from happening again. I really hope Celeste doesn't work at this location anymore because this woman flat out lied to my face. I broke my phone and was way overdue for an upgrade and went into the store on their so called "customer appreciation day." After picking out the latest iPhone I was ready to check out. During the process of signing my life away Celeste tells me, "so I just wanted to make sure the promo was still valid but we had a promotion this morning that we can honor. It's for a Mophi battery charger, a car charger, and screen protectors at no charge. It's $100 value." Now I hadn't bought a new phone in 3 years so I was pretty excited about this and picked out my accessories right away. Here's where things take a turn... As she hands me my receipt after spending over $300 she tells me, "You'll see on the receipt in order to make the promotion work I had to take $100 off your phone." This seemed peculiar to me and after I left I totally everything up and it wound up being $120 worth of accessories but she only took $100 off. At this point I dismissed it and was on my way. 2 days later I get a flyer in the mail from Verizon for $100 off a new iPhone. I finally put 2 and 2 together and realize that Celeste LIED TO MY FACE to buy crap I didn't need. Now I'm furious so I go to another Verizon store to inquire about this before going back to Hodgkins. I talked to the manager at the Willowbrook location and she was completely honest with me and told me that I was lied to and they would never do a promotion like what I was told. She recommended that I go back to the Hodgkins location and talk to the manager. So now I drive back over to the Hodgkins store and attempt to talk to the manager who was USELESS. He returned my accessories and assured me that "this will be addressed." The entire time I spoke with him he was acting as if I was nothing but an inconvenience to him. After this whole experience I called Verizon's customer service line and explained everything that happened and was offered a $5.00 credit to my account. FIVE FLIPPING DOLLARS. I pretty much told him that that was a joke and said I would probably not being keeping my contract with them and was told, "that's your choice." So I ended that call and the following day called back and spoke to another agent and was again offered a crap credit. I was getting no where and was disgusted with the level of service I was provided. I stewed for a few days and called back a 3rd time and asked for a manager. The agent I talked to this time gave me a $35 credit without me having to explain this whole thing again. Not only did Verizon violate my trust in every sense of the word but at no point did I feel valued as a customer. I have patiently been waiting for my contract to expire and will happily take my business elsewhere. Maybe I'm just naive but if they ever tell you anything is "Free" - get it in writing for their first born child before trusting them. read more

I was having an issue with my phone loosing signal so I dropped by hear to see if they could help. The guy I dealt with must have a PHD is dealing with pissed off people. He was understanding how dealing with faulty phones can be very frustrating. He thought the issue was with the SIM card, which I did not believe since a co-worker was losing service at the same times I was. He was right though! Haven't had an issue since. I've been with Verizon for over 5 years and I've had good and bad experience/service. Today I went in because my phone had broken once again and I was lucky enough to get Trevor to help me. I've never had such GREAT service with Verizon up until today. I went in upset and I left smiling. He really knows how to control a situation because I was very unhappy when I went in and he completely turned my mood around. Every thing was resolved very quickly and easily. Verizon discontinued the program I was on.Had to buy a new phone and change my plan.I was there for 3 1/2 hours trying to do this.For some reason they were having a problem with my address.They reached out to customer service and another source to help them.I have been a customer of verizon for a number of years.All they kept saying they could not do anything at corporate.The service people at the store were amazing.At one point I had 4 people all trying to help me.I remember the person (Ariel)who was as nice and patient and kind. Went in to buy a phone and I asked what the upgrade fee was and I was told $130. I questioned that price, as I thought it was high, and I was told the is the standard price for all devices. Long story short, when I came home and looked at my receipt, the upgrade fee is $30 ONLY and the $100 that was thrown on top were for accessories I did not need, most of which were put in in the store so I did not have to boxes to return them. I put a call in to Verizon to speak with the Manager and he never called me. I went back the next day and returned what I could and I will never go back to that store. All they want is your money to earn a commission. I don't appreciate dealing with people who lie to me! Furthermore, the manager should not be a manager, as he just stood there, watched and shook his head, as I confronted the sales associate. I went to this store to get some new phones. The phone service did not work in my house and I needed to return them. I got different stories from each sales person on how to do it and they put up every conceivable blocker to prevent me from cancelling my service. The manager Jose was rude and didn't care that his sales people gave me the wrong information. Verizon may be a fine service, but do not buy your phones from this location if you expect good customer service. I went in yesterday to upgrade my current phone. After being told the phone I liked was available at a different location, I thought about driving out there. After thinking about it, I went back to the store and decided that I would like to do overnight shipping instead. I was helped by the store rep. Jose. He told me that the overnight charge would be $8.95 and could be billed to my account. I was okay with this. Today I received a text from my sister who said that Jose left her a voice mail (our phone numbers are one apart). I called the Hodgkins store for a follow up on the phone call. Jose told me that since it was the weekend I would not be eligible for overnight shipping and would receive my phone on Tuesday of next week. I was not pleased to hear this because my current phone is on the verge of death. Not once while I was in the store did Jose inform me that phones are only shipped on business days. Jose told me on the phone that he "called multiple times and left multiple voicemails". My sisters phone has only one voicemail and one missed call. I did not receive any. Jose said that he told me when I was in the store yesterday that there is no weekend shipping. (He did not mention this at all. If he told me this I would have driven out to the other location.) Jose was very rude to me on the phone once I told him that he did not tell me this information, and told him to expect a customer complaint. read more

Save yourself a ton of hassle, frustration, and wasted time by skipping the store, ordering online, and having your new phone shipped to your house. I placed an online order for pickup at this location (not my closest Verizon) because the phone I wanted was in stock and said it would be available for pickup within an hour. 4.5 DAYS, 2 trips to this not-my-closest store, and 1 call to customer service later, I finally have my phone (despite it being available at the store the whole time & they didn't tell me what was wrong on their end/why they were having issues processing the order). This was my experience, leaving out the poor in-store customer service and EXCELLENT centralized phone support (I wish the lady I spoke to worked in my local store, she was truly much more helpful and friendly). read more

Do not go to this location!! I have read previous reviews about lying occurring at this location and it happened to me too! This location does not have employees who care about the integrity of the business or care about their customers. I went here to get a new phone and was told that I could get a jetpack for free. It sounded too good to be true, so I confirmed that it really would be free and there was no additional cost to have the jetpack and no additional service cost that would be added to my bill. I was told NO. I am now being charged an extra $10.24 for the jetpack. Today I went in to this location to speak with a manager regarding the fact that I was lied to and see how to remove this fee from my future bill. Jose, the manager I spoke to, could have cared less about my my situation or the fact that one of his employees had lied to a customer. He told me that if I wanted to remove the jetpack fee from my bill there would be a $175 cancellation fee. Jose was not willing to address the fact that one of his employees had not told the truth and was not willing to find a solution to my issue. I will be calling to make a formal complaint. I've been to DMVs with better customer service. Don't really understand why anyone goes there when the staff is literally comprised of rude, condescending, and flat out unwilling to help you. I went in with my parents recently and after the worker did a terrible job explaining a different data package he began to laugh when my parents said they didn't really understand how the package would differ. He was a poor excuse for an employee, lucky for him I didn't get his name but trust me he's not the only one there who has no clue how to treat a costumer.
