I always dread needing to get a new phone, knowing how long it takes. Not here!!! I walked in without an appointment, Michael Johnson took care of me right away. I didn't want to change my plan, just get a new phone, and he didn't do any of the hard selling like I have experienced at other places. He was straight forward and helpful the entire way through. This location is not only under new management and employees but also under a new retailer. I don't believe he's at this location anymore. But when I went to this location Carter helped me who happened to be the manager at the time. Kenny is completely incompetent. He leaves new employees alone at the store when they can't even make a return or an exchange for a customer. I was in need of a new device. This store was the only Verizon store brave enough to keep their doors open for in-store shopping. I called ahead and was answered by a very knowledgeable employee named Erick. He let me know what phones were in stock and their specs. I came in and was attended to in a very clean, safe, and protected environment. Erick and his co-worker Johnny both helped me out finding what I needed, and what would compliment my phone. They showed me what protection products worked and provided me with excellent examples of how the products worked. They set me up with an awesome phone, with liquid glass protection (The same material used on Space Shuttles), and a phone case manufactured by Pelican (The famous company that makes Gun Cases). The store was clean, had a great music Playlist and the store employees were experts. Best phone buying experience I have had in the past 10 years. This is my new go-to Verizon store. Typical bait and switch tactics. I went in for a technical issue and had the tech offer to reduce my bill by $10 a month for a senior discount. They issued me a HUM device that I did not need or want and was told I only had to carry the device out of the store at no cost to me. I received my bill a week later with a $49 activation fee. I called customer service and went back to the store and was told it would cost $35 to cancel the service. Verizon can't be happy that their employees are taking advantage of senior citizens. read more

Had terrible service here. Walked in and the guy behind the counter couldn't even say hello to us as we walked in. We walked around for 15 minutes playing around with the products. Not once did the guy address us. He was to busy flirting with the girl who's phone he said several times was all ready purchased and functioning. I chose to drive out to Geneva from my home in Sycamore to go to this Verizon establishment, mostly because of the rave reviews I read (mostly on Google, but a few here on Yelp). I'd been warned away from the DeKalb Verizon store by friends and coworkers, so I figured that if I was going to drive 45 minutes away to the next store, I should do my research and see if that one is just as bad. The overwhelming positive reviews for this store were no lie: this was possibly the easiest, most friendly and painless experience I've had at a cell phone store. We worked with Carlos to change our account structure and get new phones. He was professional and friendly, helped us get set up with a minimum of fuss, and we walked out the door happy. Buyer beware. If you appreciate an upfront and honest sales approach than this is not the store for you. Creative language is used for questions that really just need a yes/no response. And if you expect them to have any semblance of customer service after your purchase you can forget about it. I visited this store yesterday, Black Friday, around 2:30 pm. I was the only customer in the store. There were 2 male employees and 1 female employee. I also work in Geneva Commons and completely understand how hard and tiring Black Friday can be on employees. Usually I dont even shop on this day because I know it is difficult for everyone. Nevertheless, my husband and I needed new phones and the deals were supposed to be really good. Since we are already Verizon customers, the female employee asked for my ID so that she could verify who I was and talk to me about my account. She took my ID, looked at it, and said, "You are so ugly." I couldn't believe what I heard and did not address it with her in the store. I was in shock. Quickly I got the information I needed and left the store. After I left, I got very upset. I've worked Black Friday many years in a row and have never made any comment like that to a customer. Its unacceptable, rude, and completely ridiculous. At the time I was debating staying with or leaving Verizon. Now I'll definitely be leaving them and feel like other people need to know my story. I really enjoyed my experience at this verizon wireless. I've been to many locations around the Geneva area and did not have good experiences until the Geneva store. The costumer service was great and unlike Batavia, I didn't have to wait 2 hours to get served. I will gladly return to this store when the time comes. read more

Wow where do start. I was planning on adding a new line to my family plan in the upcoming weeks. On black Wednesday I left my phone at the office and could not get it until Friday. I decided it would be a good day to add a line because I'm lost without my phone. I entered about an hour before they close and the salesman was with a customer. I wait for him to finish and he asked me what he could do for me. I tell him the story and how much I needed the phone. Then he asked me why I needed it and not in a helpful way but a suspicious way and that made me feel a little strange. I asked him if he had the note 4 in stock he says yes we have lots of them, getting ready for the holidays. He then told me about the edge plan and how it was a no brainer to just pay the extra thirty dollars a month for it. I told him thanks but no thanks because I was not comfortable with that and it worked out to more than full retail. He said ok and then went in to the back. When he came out he said sir actually I don't have the phone you want. I was shocked because he said they had tons of them. It was clear that he did not want me to sign a contract but instead do the edge plan. Maybe bigger commissions. It was horrible business practice. I will tell everyone I know about this experience. I was truly disgusted. read more

Atrociously slow service, not enough equipment to assist customers trying to upgrade their devices, and for a store selling Verizon products, you're lucky to get a single bar of LTE service in the store. It took over an hour to get someone to actually help us just activate our phones which we'd ordered previously. read more

Less than satisfactory visit here. I went in to purchase a new phone. There was only one young lady working there. When I walked in, I was the only customer in the store, yet she seemed less than thrilled to assist me. She answered personal calls and texts more than once while I was asking questions. I didn't have difficult questions...best camera, prices, etc. She had a hard time answering anything. As I was browsing, a few other customers walked in...she left in the middle of helping me numerous times. I understand it's hard to be the only employee working, but a simple process was turned into something extremely time consuming. Regardless, I was there and I needed a phone ASAP. When it came to paying she had a hard time explaining any of the charges. An 80$ screen protector was added to my bill which I asked to be removed. Upon receiving my receipt, there was a 40$ charge for a different screen protector (which I did not ask for) that began the separate process of receiving a refund. I honestly wish I had just taken the time to drive to an actual Verizon store instead of dealing an authorized retailer. read more
