While AT&T corporate service is/was the worst customer service we have ever experienced, the staff here, under the direction of the manager Brad, was fantastic. Brad helped us navigate each obstacle that corporate AT&T customer service threw at us which were just ridiculous. The corporate service crew laughed at the rules and procedures they had to use. There was a time when walking in to this store the customer would be greeted immediately and given a status of a wait. Not so anymore. Even a manager came out of the office and acted oblivious to customers in the store and returned to the backroom. Two AT&T clerks were helping one customer. When my wife asked about a ballpark figure for a service he replied, "I don't do ballpark only facts". When asked about the different phones available he said they "are over there along the wall." The transfer of a line from a competitor is very difficult but he helped me through each step and was never frustrated (when I was). I couldn't have done it without him. He wrote it all up for me. There's a reason this AT&T store is always busy with customers and the one in Batavia off Randall is always dead. Ive come to this store multiple times over the years for phone upgrades and general plan information. The sales staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and honest. They're great at explaining the new products and don't push you to get everything that's most expensive but work to find the best options for you. When new technology is constantly coming out and plans are changing, it can be overwhelming. It's nice to know there's a store not just looking to upsell but that will work with us and our existing plans to make changes that make the most sense. read more

When politicians talk about price gouging, AT&T is who they have in mind. The South Elgin store is only interested in making as much money as they can at the expense of their patrons. They are padding their contracts probably to make bonuses. If you know of a good CLASS ACTION ATTORNEY, we should all file against AT&T because they have designed their program and their stores to overcharge and gouge people especially senior citizens out of their money. They have teamed up with AARP as a façade to stab us in the back and overcharge us by hundreds of dollars. I went back in the store the next day to make sure that the price was right they wrote $125 a month however, I have not seen a bill under 200. Further to this I let THE STORE KNOW three times! I instructed then that I was going on vacation Internationally and they promised me that the bill would be $10 a day extra, that never happened, it was more! I was charged $14 a day and they never honored the price that they promised me. They promised one thing and I was overcharged over and over again. Do not patronize this store or company!!! AT&T uverse just removed CBS from channel lineup without warning. Other than adding services, the stores now refer you to the AT&T app or 800 number. My bill doubled in 18 months and up $50 in four months. They fail to honor discounts and repeated calls to customer service get the same response, we see the discount noted in your account record and it will be fixed, yet it never does. REREGULATE AT&T AND THEIR SERVICES. They are nonresponsive. read more

So I came in today to switch my line from one family account to another and wanted to know what I would owe on the phone. After the sales rep gave me his response in a non-interested cocky tone, he proceeded to tell me I should give him money.... I'm sorry buddy but learn proper salesmanship. You read me wrong. No I will not be giving you my money and you were lucky I didn't flip out on you. My blood was boiling after such a rude comment. This is obviously not a place that gives respect for their customers. After he made his comment he wandered off and hid in the back room like a coward. Warning -- avoid this place!! I was an ATT customer who went to this location (917 Randall Rd, St Charles) with a very simple mandate: upgrade our very old smartphones with a modestly-priced middle-of the-range phone. Should take only 20-30 minutes, no? Wrong!... The salesman allowed us to peruse the line of available phones while he went to "check our ATT account." He returned a while later, pleased to inform us that we "qualified" to purchase the latest, greatest, highest-priced phone in the ATT lineup. AND, we further qualified for a buy-one-get-one-free special... if only we'd also sign up for ATT's DIRECT TV service at a low monthly rate (which he neglected to mention is a "teaser rate" for the first year only). What followed is the highest-pressure sales pitch I've ever encountered. It didn't matter to the salesman that we told him we don't watch TV, "...so why should we sign up for DIRECT TV!?" (No, we're NOT lying: we've LITERALLY watched less than an hour of TV over the last year!) Bottom line... we politely walked out of the store an hour later -- *without* upgrading our phones -- and went directly to BestBuy and bought our phones there. As a third-party retailer, BestBuy salespeople don't work on commission, and the transaction was a breeze, with absolutely no pressure. In fact, we even ended up switching carriers to an ATT competitor, and are very happy. AT&T, HERE'S A SUGGESTION: maybe you should study Sales and Marketing Theory, which says it's easier to keep an existing client than find a new customer. So why do you pressure your salespeople to subject existing loyal clients with such high-pressure tactics, simply to push a product (DIRECT TV) that they don't want or need? Is it really worth it, to lose an existing client, possibly forever? read more

Worst service of any Att shoe 2. Brittani checked me in and with her attitude was not pleasant. Told me it'd be awhile, meanwhile there are 4 people standing around playing on her phones. When i checked back with her, she gave me a sassy reply. They were unable to help me, so instead of being empathtic to it they gave me attitude. The manager finally got off his phone to come see if he could help but couldn't. Suggestions, lose the attitude, get off your phones and help your customers on a sunday afternoon.As a manager you should be more solution orientated. This was, hands down the best customer service experience I've had at any service provider ever! The store manager should be congratulated on hiring outstanding young staff members who are both helpful and cheerful and have a great work ethic! Kudos to you 4 creating an excellent customer service experience... Particularly the young man Matt was outstanding in his helpful approach to solving my problem of rescuing all of my vacation photos. I really enjoyed my experience here. Customer service was excellent as someone checked me in and I waited for someone to come help me. The wait was only about 5 minutes and I was greeted by Breanna. She was super helpful and very sweet. She made me feel comfortable and didn't force me to purchase anything which was super refreshing. She also explained everything very well, and that in itself made the experience a great one. She kept the conversation going and was very relatable. I truly enjoyed my experience with Breanna and would recommend anyone going to this store to work with her. She deserves 5+ stars! After three months of trying to correct my bill, I was told to go to the corporate store, saint Charles ,Steve the manager shoved me off to Andy W. Andy actually just called the 1800 number I have been calling for three months. Only to tell me there closed on the weekends I should call them myself on Monday. I went back to the manage,Steve. Steve was completely indifferent to the problem. He could care less about the customer. Only could say call them yourself Monday. This store and Steve only cares about making sales at this location. Once they have your contract, your on your own. They must be on a commission structure or store sales bonus structure. This shows. I went in there about noon today. A newbie boy took my info and said I was next in line, there were 4 workers helping others. Another lady came in after me, they took her name. We were on the list clearly on the wall video unit. A guy walks in and a different worker guy greeted him and began helping him! They walked to the counter where the worker was going to look something up for him. I watched for a minute, then walked up to them and said "excuse me, are we not following the next up list or is it ok for a guy to get help immediately while 2 girls wait in line." I'd been waiting about 20 minutes at this point. The worker said, "he just has a question". No, that's not how it works boys. I walked out. Just like a deli, call the next person if you're free. Period. Just reinforces the forever preferential treatment of males by males. This 20+ year AT&T customer is never to give business to this store and is reconsidering AT&T now at all. read more

I upgraded two cell phones to I-phone 8s during a promotional buy-one-get one free in June, 2018. After two months of seeing charges for both phones on my ATT bill, I called to straighten it out. I was told it would take up to 3 months to have the fee for the second "free phone" reversed, and at that time I would see a credit to my account. Two months later, still seeing the charges, I was told that I did not qualify for the promotion, and that I need to pay for both phones. I explained that the store (St. Charles on Randall Rd.) told me I WAS eligible and sold me both phones under this agreement. I am in the process of trying to get this resolved with the store who I can't get through to on the phone! What a headache and hours that I don't have to sort this all out. I've had all my services bunded with ATT for years. Time to unbundle and drop this carrier!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Luis Medina! I came in with my Galaxy S6, as it had spontaneously went to a black screen, and I was unable to do a re-start at home. Luis was able to fix it and he told me that the S6 cases are on sale since the S8 came out. I asked him to actually show me the S8, as I was interested in possibly upgrading anyway. Luis was very knowledgeable and showed me all of the new features. He was not pushy and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. He reviewed my current plan and was able to determine I could get a better deal. He also stayed after closing time to help set up my new phone and transfer data from my old phone. I walked in at 7:45, unaware the store closed at 8 p.m. Luis was efficient, courteous, and professional. If you need assistance, get to this location and ask for Luis!! read more

I recently decided after 10 plus years of being with AT&T to cancel my service and go to another carrier. People do this EVERY DAY, correct? When I went in to return my phone within the 30 day return window you would've thought the smug salesperson, Orlando was being personally affected by my decision. It was a blizzard outside and I had to go to the St. Charles store because that's where I bought the phone originally and they are a corporate store. While trying to log into my Samsung account to factory reset my phone, I could not remember my password, which is admittedly my fault. Orlando (who was too busy with his face in his own phone) to be any sort of help was a condescending jerk. I wouldn't be taking the time to write this review if my first encounter at this store was equally unpleasant when I originally picked up my $1000 phone. Do yourself a favor and go to another store. I can not be more disgusted with ATT. Customer service was great until I had an issue with a pre-existing account. The manager kept telling me she was taking care of it. I called every other day to follow up. She would not take may calls nor return them. The next thing I know I am receiving a bill from a collection agency. I have NEVER had anything go to a collection agency and pride myself on paying my bills that I rightfully owe. I will NEVER use ATT again. I switched my cell service to Verizon as a result. Got 1 star as 0 is not an option. About a year ago me and my fiance purchased a Uverse internet + tv bundle. Since we were new customers we got the bundle deal and paid $140 per month and part of the reason we went with this service was because the sales associate Peter Chacon (who's now a manager) promised us that if we came in a year later, he would re-sign us up for another year at the current bundle price (which is still the same from ATT.net). Went into the store the other day after receiving a $215 bill since the promotion period ended. We were told that Peter left for the day so the associate Alex would help us out. He proceeded to try to sell us DirectTv for the next 10 minutes of conversation (after telling him over and over that our complex does not allow a dish AT ALL). He even called Peter and came back to tell us that there's nothing they could do in store and we should go home and call customer service (he was extremely rude about it as well). We told him that we wanted to speak to a manager and were seriously considering switching to Comcast for $130 per month for the same service and faster internet. We were told that the manager was going to be busy for a while and if we wanted to switch to Comcast, to go right ahead and do so. I have been a sales and services manager at a large retail store for 4 years and 8 years of restaurant store management and if I had a situation like this, I would be calling customer service myself for the customer or our corporate support number. It seems like they will go above and beyond to sell you the promotional items even if they have to blatantly lie to do so. With the associate Alex, I believe training was a part of the issue as he was completely useless and kept going back to his busy manager over and over again. I called customer service and locked into another year for $20 more plus a $100 bill credit. The customer service agent was more than helpful which is why I didn't mind the $20 instead of $75 extra. I will also be adding on to my service because of the helpfulness of the customer service rep and the options she gave to us. So save your time and do everything online/over the phone since they actually value their customers. It seems that the stores just want the commission and could care less what happens to their customers after that. read more
