I live in California so I couldn't help my 65-year-old mom with her inability to watch Netflix on her phone in Gainesville. She thought she had an Internet connection issue so she drove to Verizon to buy a mobile hotspot device. The employees of this store helped her realize the problem was related to the app -- not the internet -- and that she didn't need to buy any new equipment. Despite regularly purchasing phones at Newberry Location, when I walked in with my relatively new phone due to spam problems I was immediately told that they do not do this kind of thing. I have been a Verizon customer for almost 30 years. I noticed customer service have deteriorated overtime. I went yesterday to purchase anew phone. I was met by some wone who schedules appointments and was told later on he is the manager. This dude lacks courtesy no greetings nothing. I waited for at least over 1hrs to meet with a young man name Dennis to help me out. This person too lacks personal traits. shows no respect and over board condescending. He needs training. So I tolerated this so I can get the phone I wanted. he continued to act as if he is doing me favors. I told him I am off work and where I live the internet is slow so I would like him restore some data from Google drive. He wanted to confirm that I have a password but in away felt like "hey old man" do you remember your password. as we moved with this I asked him another 2 times about the restore and as I he did the invoice. will you help me restore my old data and all of a sudden he tells me it cost $30. I have no issue paying but that irritated me as I felt he did not want to do it. At this point I left the store and saved my self over $200 by ordering the Phone on Amazon. I'm currently a Verizon customer who purchased the IPhone 15 Pro Max and Premium plan earlier this year. I went Into the store today to purchase wifi as well. I was told 5G is available in my area but there are too many people in that area with wifi currently so I was not eligible to purchase. I found that frustrating but hey it sounds like there was nothing they can do about that. I then decided to purchase a mobile hotspot with the 100 Gig plan. I told the sales rep I would be paying off the hotspot device right away and would set up auto pay for the service. Salesman was very nice. He then told me there was a $35 activation fee. Due to the aforementioned frustrations I asked if he would be able to waive the fee. He said he would have to get management which he did and they declined to waive the $35 dollar fee. I told them I would be going to AT&T to get wifi today if they wouldn't waive the fee but if they would waive it, I was ready to purchase. They decided it was not worth their business and immediately said no there is nothing they can do to help. I have now purchased AT&T wifi and this Verizon store has missed out on over $40/mth along with $200 for the device. I run a business and am simply writing this review for the owner of this location. I know I would be extremely disappointed in my sales team and management if they were willing to lose a current customer over a $35 activation fee... Will likely be switch my phone service to AT&T as well. Very poor business practice. This happened 7/26/2024 for reference of management working that day. read more

If I could give zero stars I totally would, My mom and I needed help with a phone problem after talking to the call center for two plus hours we decided to go to the store since I have NEVER had issues with this store.. welp this past week they finally got us very very angry and disappointed. The lady who was "helping" us walked up to us and immediately had a nasty attitude! When I tried to make light of my terrible situation she continued to talk down to us and acted like we were dumb. She got my mom so upset and as we were walking out she just continued saying "well good luck with that"!!! Y'all need to do something about these employees, they are making a bad name for this company. Please avoid this Verizon store all all costs. If you order products online to be picked up in the store they will refuse to fulfill the online order. Verizon corporate will refuse to intervene and your order will be lost in limbo. An absolute disappointment and a ringing endorsement for T-Mobile and AT&T. read more

My experience with Verizon was to call about an apple product I was seeking assistance with, I was told by a barely English speaking employee that "we don't fix things. I asked where I could get the warranty applicable repair service And was told they had no number to refer me to, so I should call around and find someone. When I asked to speak to the manager I was placed on terminal hold. This happened 2x in succession. I feel this business well represents a commitment to customer non satisfaction. If you wish to sell a crappy set of earphones for 150.00 you certainly should be able to direct the client to warranty repair. If one manages such a place, one should care enough to please every idiot dumb enough to buy such a product. I was really hoping to rate them well... that their fine service made it worth the cost of the product. The experience left me saddened by it. read more

I had just purchased two new iPhone 12 Pro models and the manger was rude to me. I really dislike the way she treated me. She is short with dark hair and she was not welcoming at all. She even yelled at me from across the store to put my mask back on after I needed to take it off briefly to do my Face ID to unlock my phone. When I told her this she brushed me off and didn't even make eye contact. Her employee Anthony was great and very helpful. He should have her job and the store would run with perfection just as he helped with everything I needed. I will only be dealing with Anthony from this moment on. I know managers are under the gun because of stupid Covid but this is getting ridiculous. I have one star because of Anthony. He actually gets 5 stars and the manager gets -5 read more

I can see why this store has such a low rating. They took advantage of my 91-year-old mother this week and sent her home with no phone at all even though she had paid for an iPhone 6. She told them that she has no phone and no way to contact anybody and yet they still let her go with no phone and no way to communicate with the outside world. They should have set her up with a temporary cheap phone just for a couple days until the iPhone 6 arrived. All they care about is sales and they don't care about their customers at all. I would not advise you to go here. There was an error in their system that billed my account $30 every month on top of my monthly phone bill. I thought this was a normal charge that everyone had to pay; that was until I went in to confront them about it. I was told that there was a glitch in their system, that the previous plan I had before had never actually been cancelled, even though I saw them cancel it months before in front of my own eyes. I later discovered that the $30 payments that wrongly or mistakenly came out of my account each month added up to a total of about $210. I asked them for a full refund of the amount that was wrongfully removed from my account. The Verizon representative I consulted about the matter, in this Newberry Rd. location, went to talk to his boss (I suppose in an office somewhere in the back; a place I couldn't visibly see) and came back with an "OFFER" to go "50/50 with me," which obviously meant I would be out of about $105 of my own money that was wrongfully taken out of my account, with no fault of my own. As a loyal Verizon customer, I felt let down and done wrong to. I reluctantly agreed to accept this PARTIAL refund, because I felt that if I didn't accept this "offer" that they would bully me further and let me go with no refund at all. I said, "Okay, I'll accept the 50/50 refund." The Verizon representative then went back to some secret corridor behind closed doors to talk to his boss, and came back saying that "everything has been resolved, and the refund has gone through." SO I left the store feeling cheated out of $100 that was of no mistake to my own, but rather a glitch in their system, BUT i also left the store feeling confident that I would get this partial refund as promised. When I got home, I checked my Verizon account, and there was no refund at all, as promised. I called the store and asked a representative when the money would appear in my account. I was told that it would appear in my account "at the end of the month." 1 month later: I check my account and there is no sign of this refund. 2 months later: I check again, with the mentality that maybe just maybe there was some kind of system delay. 3 months later: and there is still no sign. NOTE: I've also extensively checked my bank account and there has been no credit to my account placed by Verizon. So in no way, shape, or form has this partial refund been made out to me. Thus, I have been cheated out of over $200 by this Verizon location through subtle cunning tactics, and I can ensure you that the boss or management or whoever at this location does NOT engage in ethical business practices and does not care about his/her customers, RATHER only cares about how much money they can hustle out of their customers, or bully out of their customers. read more

Worst service I've ever had period. The guys in the store talked over my girlfriends questions so they could talk about Halloween parties with each other after we had been in there for over an hour. Not to mention it takes three different guys three different attempts to transfer her stuff to her new phone. Not only are they inconsiderate they are equally incompetent. There were two sales people "helping" customers while three (plus another who periodically appeared from the back) just talked with each other & walked around. Two customers were waiting in line in front of me & who knows how long theyd been there. I have been a loyal Verizon customer since 2006 here in Gainesville. I arrived at 7:42 pm at the Newberry store (6/14/18) and had a question about adding an international plan for an upcoming trip. There were 5 Verizon sales people already helping others. I waited 15 minutes, but finally gave up and had to leave (store closes at 8 pm). Not once could I even get a glance to indicate they noticed I was in the store. Previously at this same Newberry location (6 months earlier) they had a sign in system, but on that occasion I waited 45 minutes on a busy Saturday afternoon and also gave up after no service. I am not sure how any business can survive with such poor customer service. read more

I've been a Verizon customer for over 5 years and have never had such a unhelpful experience. I went into the store via corporate request to turn in a iPhone with a swelling battery. When I got to the store the representative informed me due to a crack in the screen that was caused from the swelling that there was nothing they could do for me. He referred me to a place to replace the screen first and return or pay my $200 copay for insurance. I informed him this is what corporate had instructed me to do and that there were notes on my account. He wouldn't even look into my account. So I asked for the manager. Funny thing is she had been standing behind me during the entire conversation and never stepped in. So thanks Whitney Green for wasting my time and forcing me to get corporate back involved. They instructed me to go to the store on Archer Rd where the manager had a replacement phone waiting. So don't waste your time going to this store. Smh read more
