I wish I could give them more stars but not on my experience. They clearly were overwhelmed with all of the UF students moving in (including my daughter) but I would think they would be prepared by now! So many shelves were ransacked; no shower curtains; one packet of shower hooks left, etc. Of course if you needed kid toys, pool items or anything not related to college age kids!! However, eye very employee in this store were very friendly so that was fantastic. Perhaps I'll have to come back another time to see how it really is!! I know how Target is!! I want to give a big compliment to the checkout line guy named Sebastian!! He helped me load my target card onto my app so that I could pay through my app. He was so loving and patient, that he even closed the checkout line to assist me. I normally have my card on me, but I changed purses a couple times recently, and did not have it on me. I've tried to load it before to no avail, but he and I did it in less than two minutes. Mostly him!! He deserves a "Great Service Award"!!! Thank you Sebastian!!! Now I don't have to carry another card wirh me all the time. Woot woot. read more

Target is one of my favorite places to shop the only thing I don't like about this location is it is always really crowded and the self-checkout line can be pretty long, it moves quickly though. It is the only Target in Gainesville. This Target also does not have a deli and their fruit is a bit overpriced. Other than that they have a good variety of products and the prices are not too bad. This target needs a major update. I went in to get some gator shirts and was blown away they had almost no inventory. It's a college town and I figured target would have a nice selection since I had to run in and get a few items for the ride home. I made a run to Target for some essentials while I found myself in an unexpected extended stay with my husband at UF Shands hospital. As always, Target keeps good quality products in stock and I found pretty much everything I needed. I do think Target has raised their prices a little more than WalMart for like items but the service I receive at Target almost always beats a WalMart experience. They did have some empty spots on the shelves but who doesn't lately? For this store the advice I have is to take the time to clean up things - just because you don't have completely full shelves doesn't mean you can turn a blind eye. Keep the shelves squared up and the aisles cleared and it doesn't "feel" like you're missing anything. Checking out was smooth and the cashier was very friendly and efficient. read more

We came here on our trip up to Marianna for a driver switch and potty break. Bathrooms were decent, in the female restroom an odor filled the facilities. It was either from someone just prior or just needed to be cleaned a bit more. Bullseye playground wasn't stocked very well with current items, it had quite a few of odd items misplaced and scattered around. Compared to the store in Mt. Dora this particular location to take some pointers from that location for proper placement of items. Store was clean. Didn't see any employees other than ones at the resgisters. It was kinda small for a Target, definitely not a super target but still had quite a few grocery aisles. Target was in a strip mall with other popular stores. read more

Had to pop over to Target to pick up some heartburn medicine while staying in Gainesville. This was quite literally right next door. It's a smaller format Target that was currently under renovation if I remember correctly. The store was quite tidy and well kept. I found what I was looking for and then took a look around. The store's employees are all well informed and friendly, helpful to a fault. If I needed to visit a target again in that area, I'd certainly stop here. read more

Target in Gainesville Fl imports Navel oranges from Chile and South Africa. I bought 3 oranges and the stickers on two of them were from Chile and one was South Africa. They don't taste as good as a Navel orange harvested here in Florida, where I live and from Sunkist (California) but they look picture perfect. Now, needless to say, I'm appalled by Target importing fruit that is abundant here in the U.S. Each of the oranges cost $.75. They are commonly priced at grocery stores at $1.99/lb. We, the consumer, are paying the extra cost because these countries charge us for importing oranges from THEM!!! You can bet I will pay closer attention to where items that I purchase come from. read more

Besides the fact that it took 20 minutes for me to find someone to help me, once I finally did the worker told me she would go get my product from the back and that she would be back in a minute. I waited for over 40 minutes and she never came back. I don't know what she was doing but she had an attitude when I talked to her to begin with. I used to love coming to this Target and frequented it often every time I was in Gainesville. Today, I attempted to return a Christmas gift I had given to my boyfriend. It was an electronic bought at the end of November in preparation for Christmas. They told us electronics only had a 30 day return policy-even if it was Christmas. Okay, we would be fine with store credit. Until they told us since said item was on sale, they would only give us credit for the sale price. I paid $100 for the item and it was on sale for $59. This is ridiculous and the store manager did not help or aid in a professional way. We took the item with us and will not be returning. Thankfully Target Customer Service did the right thing and will be giving us a FULL REFUND. Don't know what was hard about this situation and think many would run into this after the holidays. read more

Horrible process I ordered an appliance online at about 3 pm, which was supposed to be delivered between 5-6. A little after 5, I received an email stating that they are sorry, but my order was canceled due to a "technical" issue on their end. I made several calls to the stores, to the delivery company, and to the Target office. No one was able to figure out the issue. I was told to reorder, that there was probably a glitch and the next order should go through. So I reordered and again, received another confirmation, and then after waiting for another 2 hours, my order was again canceled for a "technical" problem. Again, after several calls- and so much time on hold- I was again told that they did not know why this happened. I share this because this is unacceptable --there is no way I will ever order from them again. They need to figure this out! read more

In some ways the renovation to this location has been good. The store looks updated, there is a proper section for beer and wine, and there is a Starbucks. However, the renovation also took out a chunk of the grocery section and took away the Target cafe. I wish they had expanded the frozen and fresh section. It's pitiful compared to other Targets. Walmart has a much better selection in terms of food and even skincare. read more

This is not one of the larger Target stores, but it has almost everything that I buy on a regular basis (groceries and other consumables), at reasonable prices, and in a clean, well organized store with friendly employees. While there are dedicated grocery stores within walking distance, they don't have much else to offer, unless you're looking for a specific cut of meat, or have some other special-order request. The store hours are quite generous; they're even open until 11 pm on Sunday night, which is great. If you're staying in one of the nearby extended stay hotels, you can pick up just about any groceries you might need without having to drive (after a long day of traveling by car, it's nice to be able to walk somewhere). I'd still like to see a bit more selection in some categories, such as a fat-free half & half (for coffee) that isn't loaded with artificial additives like the Target store brand. That's the sort of thing that dedicated grocery stores usually carry, and if Target made small changes to their inventory such as this, it would save extra trips to other stores for one or two items. read more

Customer Service Fail. When I did a juice fast and they wouldn't help me at all when the juicer I bought from them broke in the middle of my fast. I know, I still go there. And it's still way better than Walmart. But they certainly aren't winning any customer service awards. The other night I was there and they literally shut the lights off at 10 for their closing. It's Target. There is not much to say. The store is clean, the prices are fair (better when things go on sale or clearance), and it never seems to be overly crowded. I like that they added a few groceries into the store. The selection is limited though so don't go expecting to find so obscure food. The pharmacy is great. They generally have your meds ready within 15 minutes if you just drop it off. If you call it in then it is generally ready in 45 minutes to an hour. They are very good about transferring prescriptions from other pharmacies and take care of everything for you as long as you tell them the prescription and what pharmacy you want to transfer it from. Overall it is your basic everything store that is clean and not overly busy. read more

Target is one of my fav stores, second to Walgreens. It's always so clean and organized with trendy clothes and nice home goods. There is literally no comparison between Target and Walmart. H*ll, the ppl who shop at target are usually working class ppl looking for affordable quality stuff; whereas, Walmart on the other hand... You know where I'm going with this?!?!? Target has always been my go to shopping store for most basic essential items. Compared to the old Walmart it always had a livelier, cleaner, and friendly environment then the drab alternative at Walmart. I find that to still be true despite the new Super Walmart, although I'll go to Walmart more often now because it has a far greater selection. What keeps me coming back to Target? Well savings are always at the top of the list. Items at Target always have some fantastic prices, plus I have a Target RED card that will net me another 5% off on anything I buy. If you have a smartphone you can also download the cartwheel app that will sometimes surprise you with weekly amazing savings! It's also seamless since I have to do is scan the barcode of an item to see if it will provide an additional savings, which is really helpful when I'm comparing two items side by side. Target also has unbeatable customer service. Whenever I need to return an item I don't find myself waiting too long (unless it's one of those horrible days like game days or back to school when everyone and their mother storms the storm, quite literally). I never have any trouble returning an item even when I'm missing a piece of packaging, and employees are always happy to find out what was wrong with the item and to recommend me another in return. Something they could definitely improve on is a greater selection of fresh foods, like other Targets. Although I sometimes stop by for some essentials like peanut butter or cream cheese, I never stop in Target solely for food because the selection is rather meager and it's just inconvenient to add another destination on the to-do list. If it were anything like the Target back home, I would probably make the switch from publix completely to Target. Overall I love this Target; it's been an essential store since Day 1. Hopefully one day they'll upgrade it to be Super just like it's cousin Walmart. read more

Target is in a nice location in GNV off of Archer Rd. It also has a large parking lot and lots of stores and restaurants surrounding it. This location is your adequate size for the store with a smaller section of grocery. They usually have great selection of sales and markdowns that change daily, so you have to get there early if you want the best selection. They also have a greater selection of college/dorm supplies than most regular targets. Since they over-order dorm stuff, you can usually find these items on clearance pretty fast. Generally, this store is clean and well organized. I have come across shelves at times that are empty or out of stock, probably due to excessive couponing. This store is very coupon friendly, and they have never given me a hard time about saving money. Only suggestion I would have is to visit during the weekdays. This store definitely gets crazy upon move-in weekends and Gator games. read more

Its a middle of the road basic Target. 4 steps up from WalMart, two up from KMart and (since Federated destroyed Burdines) only a step or two down from Macy's. Food items are fine, and their store brand stuff seems to be a cut above most store brands. Selection is average for this type store. The parking lot can be a cluster**** at times, and the door/drive relationship is pretty bad. That is really the only truly lame part of this particular big box place. read more

The cashiers are always nice and helpful but the people in the electronics department suck. They're not helpful at all, and actually pretty rude when you ask them a question. They like to act like you're an idiot if you ask a question they think has an easy answer. I'll go to Best Buy next time and save myself some frustration and annoyance. read more

The Target Starbucks is an oasis and Greg who works here is a champion. Greg needs a cape. I had been shopping all afternoon working myself into oblivion; I was extremely parched. I needed a refreshing drink quickly and I didn't know what to get. Greg must have felt what I was going through. I haven't been to this target in a dog's years. I used to frequent it a lot in my travels to visit my sister. This place has been here for almost 10 years. It's a fairly old building, not Chicago old, but you get my drift. I went into it yesterday looking for some milk, cheese and some snacks for my daughter on the way to Tampa. Got my snacks, visited the new addition of the freezer section, and got out and got back on the road. I do have to say the set up here is backwards to the one back in Naperville. read more

They have a good variety of things at reasonable prices and have seasonal things at the front too. I like a lot of their home items (towels, furniture, etc) as they carry a lot of nice fresh designs. They open from early til late. Store is always clean, staff are friendly. read more

Well I've boycotted anything and everything with Targets since they started the whole blurred gender bathroom stuff. ONLY reason returned (just for that day) was bc they sold a special brand of facial lotions/creams that my dermatologist suggested. *Sensitive skin is a curse!* They have reconfigured some areas of the store but fine. Wish big woman sizes were separate from the smaller sizes. The big woman sizes were lacking. I had hoped that was a change since their commercials show more ladies of a bigger stature. I needed a new phone case and screen protector. I am not familiar with either of these items. Three times I had to go to the desk by the phone area in the store to ask questions. All three times I was just told "they are over by the wall" the girls were just chatting and not appearing too busy. I would have appreciated one of them walking over with me to assist. I love going there to shop. Shoe selection could be a lot better and not over priced on shoe's that kind of look cheap bc if i wanted shoes that look little cheap i could go to Walmart. Womens an junior area of clothing should lower price enough so it doesn't feel like your at a department store like jcpenny's. Lastly, front end feel a little hot. Other than that i love to shop there. Try to avoid Walmart since i moved here late 2014. read more
