They are doing in a few hours for my mom what would take me months to do, and even then I am not sure I could do half of what they do! If there was a problem you spoke with a human being here in the U.S. and not an AI assistant who would transfer you to call center somewhere overseas, who in turn were rarely helpful. The exception was today with a man names Ranses. He was able to understand my request - To reset the volume on my panel for it wasn't so loud as to disturb my neighbors. Ranses deserves credit for understanding the problem and helping me solve it. He is the only reason I gave ADT 2 stars instead of one. Too bad I couldn't have had him help me in the first place, as that would have earned ADT 5 stars. Two days earlier I was referred to a woman who claimed her name was Karen but with her heavy accent, I think it wasn't. She started by telling me my phone number was invalid. I asked what phone she had for my account and she repeated mine. I explained that was my sole number and it's the number I was speaking to her on. That went over her head. I explained my issue: We'd lost power and when it came back on my system panel sounds were extremely and I wanted to lower the volume and or mute the chimes. Instead she explained to me that I needed electricity and an internet connection for my ADT to work. She failed to understand I had both and that wasn't the issue. I finally said I hope her supervisor was listening because she needed to be fired and perhaps find a job cleaning streets because she failed at customer service. I was so disgusted by the terrible customer service I wanted to cancel my account. As it is, ADT has replaced American based customer service with AI assistants and outsourced the human component to a call center overseas --- Yet has continued to increase the monthly cost for service. It seems ADT's business model is now: Charge more - offer less service and ignore customer needs.

Also, you can literally purchase the same garbage they are going to attach to your home on Amazon for less than $100 and have the same level of security. They will always tell you that you can't but they are full of it. You can purchase 10 window and door alarms on Amazon for $50 that are exactly like the ones they sell for way more. You will pay them to install the alarms when basically a monkey can do it. The cameras and front door alarm can be purchased on Amazon for a quarter of the price. Easy to install. I didn't realize all this until I was hot with the reality of getting mail saying I still owe for work that was never done. I paid $900 and STILL ended up owing $1500!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!! Less than $300 worth of equipment for$900?!!!!! $600 installation fee?!!!! What the hell was the $1500 for then?!! Rip off!!! SCAM!!!! DONT DO IT!!!
