Upon arrival I was greeted warmly, my name was taken, and I was given an approximate wait time.
When my name was called (within the quoted time frame) Lyndsay introduced herself and asked me how she could help. After a quick overview of my problem Lyndsay set up two new phones, moved over all our contacts and photos, and even found an Otterbox in the color I wanted. She was clear and concise and extremely patient.
As a self proclaimed mental midget regarding the world of technology, I am quite accustomed to tech-minded people speaking down to me. This was definitely not the case at this Verizon store. Lyndsay used language I was able to understand and even walked me through the basics on my new phone.
After spending hours on verizonwireless.com, making two separate calls to Verizon customer service, and one brief encounter with a VERY surly sales rep at the Verizon a few blocks down Grand River, I did not expect to receive anything close to what would be considered adequate customer service. Actually, in all the years I have been a Verizon customer I have never received good customer service but this latest string of inefficiency and rudeness drove me to shop around for a different provider and since I was out of contract, I had nothing to lose. Then, Lyndsay stepped in and changed my mind.
It really is a wonder how one person can make such a difference in how an entire company is perceived. Thank you Lyndsay for being efficient, effective, and oh so pleasant!! Here's to another 2 years with Verizon.
Now please give the Lyndsay a raise. She deserves it. Seriously. read more
