I have been to my fair share of Verizon stores. Although the plans suck and Verizon can get tricky with you, I've never really had bad service anywhere. Until the other day when I went in to suspend my phone because I had lost it. They were so rude and could care less that I needed help and treated me like I was the next kid in the lunch line at a high school. SO I have been a customer of Verizon for ever. I went into this location to buy a iphone 4s or blackberry I was debating between the two. The guy convinced me to get the iphone and I was so excited to have a new phone since mine wasnt working. He then informed me he had to order it wouldnt be here for a week- lame. He should have told me that upfront. Then I go back after recieving it to get a case (an otterbox). I purchased a purple one with white rubber around it. Not thinking that white rubber could get dirty, seeing as my friends had similiar ones and they looked fine. After a week of having this case the white turned grey and gross looking and my sleek one week old iphone was saddened by the look of the case. I called back to ask for an exchange seeing the sales clerk didnt warn me this could happen (they are the pros, not me) and was told this was normal "wear and tear". WEAR AND TEAR? IVE HAD IT FOR FIVE DAYS. No more like your incompetent sales clerk didnt warn me of the down side of this case, something I had never thought of since Ive never owned an otter box. I told him I was going to come in and speak to management and got his name. They don't value customer satisfaction or loyalty. I told them I would never run my business this way. All I wanted was to exchange it. They act as if the freaking money was coming out of their pockets.Very dis-satisfied, not shopping at this location again. I brought in my iPhone 6 for a service issue and I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in the service I received while at the Boylston Verizon Store. The entire time I felt like I was being blamed for screwing up all of the peoples' iPhones who came into the store with the exact same problem; something I did not appreciate. While the technician was working with my phone, I did not receive any feedback or insight into the process even though I was standing right in front of him, and by the time he finished, all he could tell me was "This is Apple's problem." Seriously? The only reason I'm not going full on 1-star is because the newly-remodeled store was super dope, the sign-in process was quick and courteous, and all of the other employees I interacted with were extremely nice and accommodating. I'll make sure to never come back here for tech issues, but I can see myself coming back to handle other simple Verizon issues. read more

I don't know how this place stays in business. You would be better off by sending a carrier pigeon than by getting a phone that actually works. My first visit, I had a broken phone that I had bought at Best Buy. I had to put my name on "the list" even though there were no other customers in the building. Then I stood there awkwardly staring at the help desk until someone decided they would call me up when it was my turn. Finally, I spoke to someone who didn't try to fix my phone. He just ordered me a new one. Except he forgot to hit "submit" or "send" or whatever. No phone arrived at my house two weeks later. Now I have no phone and have been relying on the carrier pigeons, who have been making several round trips by now. I went back to Verizon and again waited in "the line" even though there were no customers. The same guy was there. I wanted to know why I had no phone, and instead of dealing with it, HE WENT TO THE BACK ROOM AND HID. I wish I could make this up. I saw him hiding behind a wall in the back. Since he left another woman alone with me, I demanded she help me, and she eventually resubmitted the request. Thenshe had the nerve to charge me for shipping!! I told her no way, so then I had to wait another two weeks for the extra slow free shipping. By now I have had no phone for a month and the carrier pigeons are getting exhausted. Fast forward to last night. After dealing with my broken phone, I decided that I want the iPhone instead of my crappy Android phone. So I went to the Verizon store a third time. This was the conversation I had with the sales people: Woman: "What are you here for?" (That's how you greet your customers?) Me: "A phone" Woman: "I'll put your name on the list" (Empty store with 5 sales people...why the list?) Me: "No, I just want to check out the iPhone" Sales guy (after staring at me for 10 minutes): "Can I help you with anything?" Me (holding up a Samsung Galaxy): "Could you tell me about this one?" Sales guy (rolling his eyes): "Yeah, that's a phone." End of conversation and he walks away to hang out with his "buddy." Also the end of my relationship with Verizon. read more

I dropped into this location when I was visiting Boston this past May. My iPhone 5 was not holding a charge and I had been avoiding going to a Verizon store at all costs. I'm used to experiencing longs waits at Verizon stores so I just didn't want to waste 2 hours of my vacation dealing with my phone. To my surprise the store was relatively empty and we were greeted by a girl at the front. Don't get me wrong, she did her job, answered my questions, but she looked like she was bored out of her mind and would rather be anywhere but helping me. She did not smile once nor did the inflection of her voice change one bit. She gave me a couple of options regarding my phone but I couldn't decide. My husband and I were kind of bickering anyway so I told her to go ahead and help others and I will talk to my husband about what we want to do about the phone. IT IS WHAT I THEN WITNESSED THAT I FEEL WARRANTS A LOW REVIEW As I am in the corner hashing things out with the hubby, a lady walks in and she introduces herself as the Verizon Regional or National (can't remember which one) manager of such and such and that the store manager is expecting her. The girl who was helping me looks at her, looks over her shoulder and points to a man at the counter and says "Is that him?". The visiting manager looks at her kind of stunned for a second and says "I don't know, I've never met him". I mean, seriously? I have been in Customer Service for most of my career and standards are going down the drain. 1) Why wouldn't you put a friendly, smiling person to greet people at the front of your store? Or at least train them to be friendly and smiling so that everyone in your store is? 2) If you are expecting a visiting manager, why wouldn't you tell your staff that she is coming and to be on their best behavior? 3) Would it have been so hard for her to say "Nice to meet you, I'm _____, I'll let him know you're here" OR "He's right over there, let me walk you to him" If that girl were on my staff, she would have had some serious reprimanding for acting like that towards anyone. As a former sales person myself, I always try to keep in mind that everyone has their good and bad days, but when you're at work you have to learn how to turn it off and put on your "work face", so to speak, and just play the part. I really don't think customer service is where she belongs. read more

When writing reviews for Verizon stores, you have to remember that the scale goes from "call the main Verizon hotline, this was unbelievably rude" to "ehh I spent a lot of money here so they were vaguely helpful." After going to this store five times, once where I purchased a new phone (spent a lot of money), and the others for help, it's probably middle of the range. The knowledge any individual salesperson has is pretty variable, but they know to call in for more help, so it's not bad. The one time I bought a new phone, they were obviously way more helpful than the other times (understandable), but the upselling was really extreme. Over the other times, the most helpful (and hilarious) was when I went in because my charger stopped working. The salesperson bit the charger (!!!) into a new bent shape and it worked again. The other three times, they simply said that they didn't do any fixes in store, and tried to sell me on other products. Pass. (I'm pretty frustrated that two days after I bought a new phone, it's already scratched and they can't do anything about it. However, it seems like that's just Verizon policy, so I can't judge this store for that. What I /can/ judge is the incredibly tone deaf upselling that resulted. I've had mixed experiences with this place... I'm a techie type - so I ask hard questions. The first time I stopped by here a college aged guy helped me. He knew quite a lot - and was very upfront about things he didn't know about. Overall, an excellent experience. Then I had to come back another time, and a lady, Iris, "helped" me. She was utterly clueless. Didn't know anything. Not helpful, just annoying. To make it worse, she'd never admit any lack of knowledge - she'd just redirect questions like a politician. She was the very definition of "knowing enough to be dangerous". I ended up giving up on ol' Iris and being helped by, I believe, Mark. Awesome guy - knew a ton. So - I guess moral of the story is that if you're the type that loves Russian Roulette - this is your kind of place. If you're not - well - you might wanna look elsewhere. read more

Both times my wife and I were there, there were great employees and awful employees, once we got a new phone to renew our contract, the initial salesperson was great, and then we had to finish everything with someone else, this person acted like we were bothering the hell out of her before we opened our mouths, she made us so uncomfortable we asked to work with another associate (something neither of us have ever done), 2 years later, renewing our contract again for a new phone, another incredibly rude associate tried to tell us we could not do our same plan and had to upgrade, we left the store, thought that was bullshit, were going to switch to cingular, but i called verizon and they said this person was either misinformed or lying, so we were able to get a new phone and keep the plan. Awful awful awful. I try to avoid this location like the plague! For the third time in less than a year my cell phone stopped working. This was not due to water damage, foul play, or any of that other stuff they try to nab you on. The phone was terrible - plain and simple. Regardless, I forced on a friendly smile and walked up to the technical service area. The two delinquents behind the desk do not look up for the first minute I am standing there. Instead, they are looking at a menu for "Cappy's Subs" and deciding what they should get to eat as well as arguing which establishment served better subs, Cappy's or Boston House of Pizza. Finally, they decide that Cappy's is better and they procede to pick up the phone and call in their order. (Meanwhile, no one has even acknowledged my existence). This went on for 5 whole minutes. It was then that I grew visibly annoyed and one of the reps looked up and goes "gahead" as in "Go ahead, tell me your problem". After 40 painful minutes of interrupted conversation with the extremely rude rep who clearly hates his job, I walked out with a brand new, awful phone, and a major headache. read more

I'd just got my iPhone 6, but it wouldn't activate (turns out it was just a simple SIM card issue), so I went to the Verizon store on Sunday morning. They didn't open until 11, so I made sure to get there a little early so I could avoid the wait. I'd love to give details about our experience, but the truth is that there aren't many to give - Danielle was so efficient and effective that we were in and out in less than 10 minutes with an activated phone, and Danielle set me up with a $200 trade-in of my old phone that I previously hadn't been aware of. "I couldn't have asked for better customer service!" I went to the store after work on a Thursday after breaking my Galaxy S3 on Wednesday. I didn't make an appointment, but I received helped from an associate within seconds of entering the store! After speaking briefly with Danielle, she was able to review my current plan and update me with the More Everything Plan. Compared to my old plan, I am now getting 3X the data, get international texting for free, and even SAVING MONEY! I've always liked the Samsung Galaxys, so I knew that I wanted to upgrade to the Galaxy S5. Danielle was extremely helpful and answered all my questions about the phone, payment options, and services my new plan had. She made my experience at Verizon really enjoyable! At the end of it all, I was able to: -Renew my contract -Get a brand new phone for the promotional price (+ mail in rebate!) -Save money on my plan -and save 25% off my accessories! On top of it all, there was even a Father's Day special going on and I even got a FREE TABLET! That's right, $0! The retail and customer service support at this location is pretty bad. I have never left this place in under and hour, even when I was the first one in the door. The lunch time wait is especially horrible and they don't really give you any sense for how long it is really going to be. The only reason I don't give this place one star is because I did have a good experience with technical support. My 2 week old phone wouldn't stay charged for even an hour. The guy took it to look at it, told me I could come back in an hour and didn't have to wait around. When I came back, they gave me a new phone. read more

Terrible service, you wait while the clerks hide from one another. They charge you for things you don't need. I worked with Walter who sold me an iphone 8, was pissed that I wouldn't by a gps and hot spot, failed to mention any sort of a discount clearly advertised on the verizon website, and upgraded my insurance while ignoring the fact that I should have been given a replacement phone. I spent ~ 8 hours dealing with phones when it should have been no more than an hour. Shame on you Verizon! read more

My Hat is off to Craig, Mike and Peter!! I have been in this store in the past and my reviews would have been similar to the ones on here ...now and I am only speaking of the people who helped us on a Sunday, of course. We were met by Peter who was polite, and willing to help us with a dated phone that we couldn't hear anyone talking. It was Sunday and this is our main business cell that we run our business on. We needed it and Peter informed us it would take two days to get a replacement(had insurance) I was with my manager and we both looked at Peter and said "not going to work!" I'd say within one minute Craig who was MOD(I think) must have picked up that we really need to get this phone replaced today, Peter was running out of options for us as we had no upgrades available until November. Craig helped Peter look over our account quickly and assured us that he would have us into a new phone before we left :-) ....he did too!! Now he couldn't do anything about the upgrade but would get us the best deal on whatever phone we wanted as well as ant accessories we needed for it. We have backup assistant and wanted to make sure we didn't lose any contact info and out of nowhere Mike had both phones in hand setting up and transferring contacts while Peter was accessorizing. In and out of there with a great NEW phone, top notch service and a business that didn't skip a beat! Fast service(unusual at any Verizon Wireless) in and out in an hour. Thanks Guys!! read more

I brought in my iphone 4s to this Verizon location after receiving no help from the Harvard Sq Verizon and the Apple Genius Bar. It was near closing time, and with no open appointments at the Genius Bar and a frozen iPhone that had a broken power button, I thought I would try this store before I gave up for the night. The manager Chris listened to my problem and right away began to look up and think of ways to troubleshoot the problem. Even though he gave me some good advice, there was nothing that could've been done to fix my phone at the store. The manager and another rep were so helpful that they referred me to a kiosk at the Pru, (and even called them for me) to see if they would be able to fix the problem before they closed. I didn't expect much coming in, and even though I didn't get my phone fixed here, the customer service was exceptional. Great advice and helpful referral to a place that got the job done! If i could give my customer rep, Errol, 6 stars I would. Errol went above and beyond when dealing with my very non-standard requests. His brought both experience and intelligence to the table and capably assisted me. Despite spending all day (literally) and plenty of phone calls later, we could not activate my iPhone 6 A1586 (international unlocked) and thus the 3 star rating. In the end, the rating is more than a rating for the store (as that should probably be 5), it is a rating for Verizon. Despite the international unlocked version being made specifically to work with all carriers (https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/), Verizon failed to play nice. In the end, we took a big hit on what we paid to own the phone outright ($750 with turn in value of $355). All that being said, we found Verizon's Edge plan to be satisfactory. Despite needing to buy another iphone, their $25 deduction on the 6gb and greater per month plan made the end result somewhat attractive. Again - Errol did an outstanding job at helping us and thinking outside the box. His experience in the business was evident and he brought it the bear. read more

I have been in here numerous times for different Verizon phones or service plans and every time I am there the sales people have been very friendly as well as above and beyond helpful.The last time I went the girl got me an additional discount for my phone as well as helped me get a lower text messaging rate. The only reason I did not give a full five stars is because there tends to be a long line to speak with anyone which is discouraging. Regardless, I really do like the women who work at this location, I have dealt with three of them before and all three were very fast and knew what they were talking about. read more

Having been in the Customer Service industry since my first job at Burger King 500 years ago, I realize that standards of service have changed and that many large businesses can expect existing customers to put up with just about anything due to the fact that leaving or changing that service is more trouble than its worth. I have been with Verizon for 7 years. In all that time I have never accepted an upgrade as I was quite tickled with my BlackBerry and it lasted me for years. A few short months ago said Blackberry met with a tragic yet accidental end and was told that I was not eligible for an upgrade as I had renewed in April and declined an upgrade at that time. A few weeks ago the POC phone that I purchased (Begrudgingly, I may add), fell out of my pocket on the train to work......could they send me a phone, another POC, yet free phone for all my years of sticking with them? NO!! I realize that in business I am the kind of customer that makes money for Verizon. I pay my bill, I never upgraded my phone, don't complain; my overhead to Verizon is zippo! Being told my passing on up on three upgrades means nothing bugged me. It also bugged me that short of making sure I knew that suspending my service after I lost my phone on the train would extended my current contract, they offered nothing at all. Shame on your Verizon. The trouble of staying with you is looking less bothersome than the idea off leaving you...and screw your early term fee. I went into the store this afternoon for a new screen protector. Mo was assigned to help me out. When he came out with the new screen protector, I asked him if he would put it on for me since it can be a bit tricky with the S10. It proved a little more difficult than usual, but Mo would not quit. He spent at least 15 minutes making sure every bubble came was out. My experience here somewhat restored my faith in Verizon after a pretty lousy experience at a different Boston location. Kenny was very helpful answering my questions and taking care of things that other Verizon reps said they had done but, in fact, had not. The location is really nice and the wait times were relatively short. I felt like the people who worked here actually knew what they were talking about and actually cared about their customers' experiences. This place is what I might imagine Hell to be like if it actually existed. Had to go in to because my phone stopped working. I go in to explain what is going on - hopeful for a quick resolution. Not so much.... The technical guy speaks to me like I am a total idiot. Maybe that is the entitlement $10.00 per hour gives you... not sure, it has been a while. My instructions are to go use the 4 year old laptop to log into my account so I can re-activate my broken phone, all so I can avoid some mystery $50 charge. I ask the manager if she can help me with the computer and her response flips a switch in me. It goes like this.... "Miss, can you help me log into my Verizon Account so I can re-activate my phone?" She responds, "This computer is firewall protected sir, you can only use if for Verizon business" Um, someone isn't listening! This is where I lose it a little and say "Well - did you think I was trying to update my Facebook page? Of course I am trying to access my Verizon account" She seemed to understand her error and wisely left. My phone was replaced, an hour after they said, but they replaced it. The next day the replacement phone began to malfunction. Not anyone's fault - but I am handling it online rather then enter my Dante's Inferno again. read more

Can you hear me now? Let me start by saying I have been a customer for about 10 years. I am sure people tell you that all the time and if you look in my file you will see a list of complaints I am sure. That being said I do not complain much by nature. If you look closely you will see that I had to go to the store multiple times for the same problem. I would guess that Techs and Sales People cover their tracks when they don't solve the problems. Really I could care less about the individual employee and how the treat me. It's the companies fault for not training them properly. It like when a child acts up more than likely it is poor parenting. Yesterday I had to tell the Tech how to take the memory card out of my old phone and put it into a new one. I am not tech savvy and was blown away at the lack of ability and or training. When I questioned him he gave me a smart ass comment as an answer each time. I work in customer service and have for many years. I was blown away by his responses to my concerns. Back to my latest problem with Verizon. On May 25 I lost my phone in New York City and decided to purchase a new phone that day. I was in a contract that I got roped into a few months prior because it was a quick fix to a problem that could have been solve easily with the right part in stock. Of course your commission driven sales team convinced me to purchase a phone that cost about $2.00 after the rebate and a preferred customer credit. It seemed like a good deal but renewed that famous 2 year contract. I will take the blame for that poor decision that forced me to buy a blackberry vs. the iPhone I really wanted. The salesman in the NYC store said that the new Blackberry Storm was the way to go. A half hour later I was in Blackberry heaven. Let me tell you that was a short honeymoon. Since then I have had many problems. Software issues, upgrades that I had to go to the store twice for so they could fix the problem correctly. Really the whole thing is unbelievable. I did have one problem with the phone freezing and the customer service rep at The Galleria mall in Cambridge MA was a complete and utter jerk. He was telling me to stop complaining in his store. Fast forward to yesterday July 21, 2009. As I was leaving work my phone froze again. So I get off the train walk in the rain to the store and was pleasantly surprised with how fast and great the service was. I thought to myself this is too good to be true and I was correct. Within minutes my blackberry was exchanged for a brand new one. I look at it and of course I have to download all my apps and change the settings. That is ok. What is not ok is not having my contacts, media, and calendar. Lets face it smart phones are portable computers. If you brought your personal computer to Bestbuy and the Geek Squad handed you back an empty computer with no files etc well that would be useless wouldn't it. They were condescending and asked if I backed up everything. I thought I did but it turns out only a portion of what I needed was backed up. I have to back up my calendar at home on my computer. I tried to set this up but again I am not an IT guy. In the end I walked out of the store 2 and a half hours later with the same malfunctioning phone as I walked in with. WOW what else can I say to that? The other topic that came up in conversation with a rep at the 745 Boylston St Store that my phone has amazing coverage in random places in the middle of nowhere. That is great if you spend a lot of time in the middle of nowhere. I spend a lot of time at home. In the last handful of apartments I have lived in both in the Boston area and in the Charlotte area my cell phone has had extremely bad service. You know what a rep had the nerve to say to me? "You can buy a product that will boost the cellphone signal in your home." I replied and said something to this affect, "You mean I have buy an additional product to make your product work properly." That is a tough pill to swallow when I am constantly bombarded with your Boy on the commercials and the catch phrase can you hear me now. Friends, and family are constantly complaining about this and tell me I need a new phone. It really upsets me when this is the service I receive from your company. I don't know how you will address my issues and at this point I almost don't care. After a rocky relationship with Verizon it might be time for me to court other carriers. A month ago I went to Verizon to get an upgrade. I can't remember the name of the man who "helped" me but he was a bald Asian man. He told me if I get and iPhone 6 I could also get an iPad mini for $200 and $10 a month. He said he put it on my bill and the total would be something around$200-300 dollars I can't remember the exact number. I got my bill today and I was charged $415 for the iPad and $135 for my phone AND the monthly fee for the iPad is $28!! I am so angry. I am a 20 year old nanny and I cannot afford this. If I knew how expensive it would ACTUALLY end up being I wouldn't have bought the iPad. So thanks to this deceitful scum of a man, I now have a bill that I can't pay and am stuck with for two years. I recently bought an unlocked iPhone 6 from apple which is specifically built to fit both CDMA and GSM technology . I am already on Verizon and decided I wanted to buy my phone alone and keep my current plan. I went inside the store asking that m new iPhone 6 will be activated and I receive very nasty responses that is not possible and ..and two sales women repeated how Verizon is on CDMA and a phone from apple store will not work etc.. After explaining that the phone is built to work with both networks , I persuade them to try .. And after the phone initially is accepted then they don't manage to activate and twith very mean attitude they keep insisting with the " CDMA line and that it doesn't work .. And they send me away in a very non friendly attitude and rude... I was about to think of switching to another carrier but then I though trying another branch in Brookline and SUCCES! it was no problem . This review is months after the fact. I went to this Verizon store in hopes of beating the lines at the Apple store and purchased a new iPhone. The staff must be used to be people who blindly purchase whatever they tell them, because my basic questions about pricing to the salesperson appeared to confuse her. She retrieved a manager, and at that point the whole transaction took on the feel of buying a car. I got what I came in for, but somehow I am paying for it in monthly installments which was not my intention. I am not a deal shark, but I can understand basic math, so I can only imagine the silly sales training these people get in order to confuse buyers who don't have hours to spend buying a phone. Mission accomplished Verizon! You made your sale, but I won't be setting foot in your stores again. read more

I got good service at this location too, four years ago. But in the time since, the worsening service from the VZW operators -- abysmal service, with hilariously ridiculous answers that I won't get into here -- has left me bewildered, almost feeling like it was a bait-and-switch. Only the improvement in their coverage keeps them above one star. I could start a very entertaining blog about my experiences talking to Verizon operators. read more

Terrible store, no Manager in sight, friendly but grossly under trained staff, rude security guard who told me to come back into the store after I've entered the store thru the Exit door saying I need to use the entrance.???? Will never set foot in this store ever again. read more

I actually had a pretty good experience here. My only complaint is that they were unable to transfer all my contacts from my old phone to the replacement phone, but they seemed to try. I was happy that they allowed me to get a completely new phone for free when I was somewhat at fault for the broken mike on the phone. If you come, come early, like 9 or 10 am -- that's all I can say for getting good service here. read more

I will never set foot in this store again ... I have always had pretty positive experiences with verizon but my most recent leaves a bad taste in my mouth to this day ... I had a complicated question that I had tried to solve over the phone three times prior with no resolution so I wanted to deal with in person. the guy helping me (who was a manager) took an instant attitude with me and kept sighing loudly and rolling his eyes and telling me to call the verizon number. as I tried to explain my issue he did not even listen and kept telling me he would not bend store policies for me (funny, how when I went to a different store -- there was no problem solving my issues and magically these store policies did not exist). I know he was not the reason I was on my fourth time dealing with this issue but I think he could have been at least a little diplomatic. He ended up basically yelling at me in front of a store full of people at which point I left and went to the store in cambridgeside galleria. there are some very nice and helpful associates in this store location -- but there are also other locations very close by that I now use. avoid if you can. read more
