I was mad enough by the SORRY service I got by this store, but it got worse I assume the guy dealing with me was the manager because he wore a suit. The guy was very condescending, while I was trying to return my phone, he messed around for an hour, as he was trying to refund me $60.00. When he could not do it, he advised I go to the nearest corporate store 20 minutes away. I went there, they could not do anything, and I had to go back to that store. I went back, they gave me a refund for $25.00, I asked about the discrepancy, and was told he "Forgot the restocking fee." I will never go to a non-corporate store again. Then this morning, I find out these people signed me up for the phone insurance, I have never purchased any phone insurance. Thieves, idiots....unsure, but do not go there. read more

Went in on March 29th to purchase a new SIM card for my iPhone 13. The sales person advised we could upgrade phones with a generous rebate, which I agreed to. He asked if I used Disney plus which I do not. I received my first bill and my plan was completely changed- no hotspot, no international calling. When I called to discuss I was told the plan I was on previously is no longer available and it cannot be reinstated. The plan I need is now costing more than expected. I've always had great experiences at the Belvidere Verizon. Even when other locations may be closer, I choose to go to this one because of the great service I've received the past 15+ years there. Recently, an employee name Joey helped me select a new phone, iPad, and internet service. He hung in there with me over the course of a few months while I made my decisions. He had a lot of patience and gave me the best costumer service I've ever had at a Verizon. I would highly recommend him. read more

I went to the Verizon store looking for help with a simple problem with my phone. A man in a suit with a p*** stache came up to me and introduced himself as Marquis. I thought maybe since this guy obviously takes himself seriously, he would take his job seriously as well. I couldn't have been more wrong. This guy had every excuse in the book not to help me. He simply did not know what he was doing. His excuses went from it's not his fault it's Verizon's fault, to it's the phone's fault, and everything in between. Marquis is the definition of a garbage person. He is terrible at his job and could only focus on anything that had a reflective surface, checking on his stache every chance he got. What a royal piece of crap. Please, Verizon, do better. read more

The customer service at this store is absolutely terrible. The manager Nate called me rude, I was laughed at by another employee. All I wanted to do was lower my bill. They kept giving me all kinds of double talk as to lower it in the future- which I already know... Cut down all my services. I called Verizon customer service & gave a formal complaint against this store, & they gave me a credit right away just like I asked for. Then I called Nate back to explain to him why I was so upset, he thanked me for the feedback I gave to customer service about him and would not let me speak to him as he kept talking over me, he accused me of yelling which I did no such thing I told him to stop talking over me & listen to what I had to say. then he hung up on me because he did not want to hear what I had to say. Customers service at this store is great! The sales associate I worked with, called "Jersey " was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with us. He explained all those complicated plans and promotions and saved me $$$ and much frustration in trying to wade through it all. Additionally he was able toget me a much better trade in value on our used and obsolete equipment. I applied that to a new GoPro under a special promotion offered to Verizon customers, more savings. To sweeten the deal because we had purchased 2 iPhones I was also also qualified to receive a huge discount on new iPad minis' in a back to school sale. None of this was advertised. Our salesman , "Jersey " made it all come together. To top it off he transferred all our data to our new phones, put the phones into the new Lifeproof Cases ( waterproof ) and arranged for the minis to ship to my house free. All this while watching the cops bust 2 guys caught, red handed stealing from Verizon stores in ROCKFORD and attempting the same here and and in the process stoping the thugs from further victimizing an elderly man by identity theft. Ok what's not to like in this? I still get the best nationwide phone service to boot. And to think that we had almost opted to go with Walmart's plan du jour. Since a previous reviewer made a point out of calling out the store manager I will comment on him as well. First he met me at the door, he was very friendly and got the ball rolling. While I observed him he made sure everyone received the same level of service that we did. Yup we are pleased. But ya know some folks are just gonna be unhappy no matter what. Sigh. Update: the next day I couldn't figure out why the iPhones didn't want to sync with my Honda CRV. So I stopped back at the store. There I explained my problem to the Manager. He asked an employee, Mark to check it out. He knew exactly what I was doing incorrectly. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Really could it get any easier? read more

Happy to be moving on to another carrier. Verizon's plans don't cover what has become basic necessity and everyday technology. Upon making the change, I realized they don't take accountability for their own inaction and offer no apology for their mistakes. Having saved record of phone calls, dates and times on my end, they obviously don't do the same. This error on their part, caused a continuation of service to continue into a new billing cycle that I was charged for. This delay also means, I have to wait an additional month to own the phone that I had leased through their Verizon edge program. So although I have left, they still have me tied down, once again due to their inability to give accurate information. I realize mistakes are made, but not once was a solution offered to make the situation right. It is no wonder they lose customers. read more
