I'm technically challenged & momma has dementia, so we were totally lost as to why she wasn't able to receive texts on her iPhone. So off we went to Verizon near Home Depot. We were immediately greeted by Jay. He figured out what we had done in 30 seconds, and poof it was fixed! But, he wasn't done with us just yet. He looked at our plan and realized that we were paying for a plan with an international calling feature we certainly didn't need. He changed it and saved us 10$! Next he looked at the subscriptions on moms phone and found SIX that were redundant and deleted them, saving us nearly 100$ per month!!! If you ask us we think Jay is a Verizon Superhero!! The slime ball salesmen attempted to sway me into a ridiculous contract that would have had me upside down in a new phone. I'm not upset with this store the people that work there are great it's the company. I literally complained about reception at my house for three years. Working from my house and dropping calls and poor reception. I call dozens of times a year I talk to engineers I drove my car while on the line with engineers I was very patient with them they sent booster I bought new phones I had to drive mile from my house if important calls were scheduled seriously very patient. I went to t mobile and decided to switch to them I have had problems with t mobile and them within weeks of changing carriers they sent me to collections I'm not kidding very disappointed. Recently purchased the most IPhone 14 Pro and I went in because I wanted to get great trade in &for my cracked apple iPhone 12. They made sure I got the deal I expected. They handled things well even when they had been facing a long day of frustrations and stayed late to do it. I purchased my new phone online and couldn't get it activated on my own. I was one of the first customers waiting to be let in on a Sunday morning. Damian M. was phenomenal.... my SIM card wasn't activating and he was able to get me a new SIM card and made sure the activation was complete for both phone and internet service. It definitely wasn't an easy fix and he had to check with another associate a couple times, but he was very professional and courteous of my time. I was in no rush, but he communicated with me the whole time to ensure I knew what was going on. I appreciated his help and felt bad that I couldn't give him a sale. Interesting to see the word "liar" appear throughout the reviews. May I add mine? Jay O'Reilly is a shameless and cunning liar who manages the Atascadero store by Home Depot. Not hyperbole, let me explain. "Promotions" I went to the store several months ago with my old iPhone and I asked Jay if he could tell me if it was a 5G phone so I could use it with Mint Mobile. I was clear I needed a cheap plan and did not intend to continue with Verizon (I no longer had a contract). He was aware I was planning on using Mint. He told me my phone was not a 5G, but said he could save me a lot of money on a new phone plan because he just happened to have some promotions!! He suggested I turn in my old iPhone and receive a free new 5G iPhone and by the way, since my son was also considering Mint, he had a great deal on a Motorola for only $24!! I leapt at the chance to receive a free phone for myself and a $24 phone for my son. Curiously, on a tiny scrap of paper he wrote "$82" and gave it to me saying, "this is what your monthly service should cost." (As it turned out, my monthly bill is over $150). I should have listened to the little voice in my head that said "run" as he slid the torn little scrap to me. "Confederates" "Confederates" are others who are in on the grift, only the consumer doesn't realize it because they work together to try to make it look legit. When I realized my phone bill charges were 60/month more than the price quoted (and scribbled on a scrap of paper), I went in and asked to see a copy of the contract I had signed. Another employee (not Jay, but a young bearded portly white male with brown hair) assisted. He spent over 20 minutes on the computer "pulling up my contract." I knew I had not signed a contract for any specific amount and watched him feverishly create a document. Cut, paste, type, glance at Jay, repeat. I was finally presented with several pages of itemized (and unagreed-upon) charges, with my signature cut and pasted onto a blank sheet stapled as the final page, as though I would not realize that it was an add-on to the Frankenstein document. There was never a contract with a dollar sum, but they really tried hard to make me believe there had been. Not satisfied, I returned to speak directly with Jay and appeal to his (non-existent) sense of morality. He gently explained that the phone was a "promotion" which means that the terms and prices may *expire* at any time. So my $24 phone, *paid in full* as I left the store, suddenly became a $614.00 phone, payments billed monthly for three years. And they even have the "signed" "contract" to prove it! (See paragraph above). In fact, while I was seated across the desk, Jay made a call to check that that particular promotion was legit and had indeed expired. He made a special call to Headquarters (wink, wink). As a woman answered the phone, Jaye slid his phone between us as to assure me there would be no further backroom antics, just transparency. I could hear the woman turn pages, pause thoughtfully, then proclaim ah yes, that promotion was good at the time but was now expired. He looked at me with widened eyes. His hands were tied. The promotion was over. Headquarters said so. I heard it myself, right? So the promotion, a *limited deal*, was to buy the use of the phone for 3 months for $24, then get billed the entire cost of the phone for the remaining 3 years? This doesn't make sense for obvious reasons, but I am adamant I would NOT have purchased a full-price Motorola (I would have gotten my son an iPhone as well), nor would I have declined insurance if I had purchased any full price phone. It is only as I write this review that it occurred to me that the woman "promotions expert" on the phone that Jay was consulting was an employee sitting across the room, or his girlfriend at home, just part of the grift. Just one big grifting Verizon family. NO CONTRACTS NEEDED! When I returned to the store to complain about the huge discrepancy between my promised costs and the actual deducted costs, and the lack of a receipt/contract with the actual price of devices and services, Jaye explained that Verizon either emails or snail mails that to the customer within a few days. A few days. Why the delay? Verizon is a high-tech company, and yet it cannot produce an actual bill of sale on the same day the sale is completed? The only reason would be so that the customer cannot immediately identify the discrepancy between the promised price and the actual price to be billed, and cancel the sale before leaving the store. Parting Thoughts I am embarrassed at remembering my profuse thanks to Jay as I completed my purchase. Jay's responses to my thanks were a head bow + prayer hands, and fist taps to heart. Jay didn't actually say, "thanks, sucker," audibly but I'm sure he was thinking it. read more

If you want First Class tech assistance when deciding what direction to go with Verizon and equipment, Martin Hernandez can guide you. My husband and I got a much better program we didn't know about, and new phones. I actually thought my hearing was going bad, but it was my iPhone 8....going bad....as well my husbands speaker was going on his iPhone 6. Time for major upgrades, but we were a bit intimidated with NEW TECH! Martin explained everything easily. He showed all the new gadgets and fast charging accessories, for home and auto connections, we didn't know about. No pressure to buy anything we didn't need. We DID buy the fast chargers and new ear buds! They are amazing!!! Covid protocols are in place. Call ahead and make an appointment. Allow over an hour as transferring info to new phones and learning will take time. Martin was very knowledgeable and patient. My husband and I are well into our 60's and new Tech is a challenge. The pix of Martin was taken way back and I asked him to pose as he did. Martin called us a couple days later to check that we were doing ok and whether we had any questions. I went into this store while on vacation. The sales guy, Ernesto, was very friendly when I went in to buy a phone. When I ran into problems, it was evident that he had no desire to help. I even escalated to the manager, Josh, and he too was unwilling to help. They told me I would have to come back to the store in order for them to try to help. I had already headed home and was 200 miles away. I asked them to call Verizon Customer Care with me, and Josh told me that wasn't an option. I asked them to call Verizon on my behalf, again they made excuses as to why they couldn't call. Long story short, there was an issue that prevented me from completing a purchase through them. As it turns out, an online order they cancelled for me so I could buy a phone from them did not go through, so J left their store without a phone. When I got home, I discovered there were two open orders from their store on my account, even though I did not successfully buy a phone from them. They told me they are unable to cancel the orders and I had to call Verizon Customer Service. Verizon Customer Service tried to cancel the orders, but we're unable to. Josh confirmed that he saw the open order, and Ernesto claimed there was no open order. Just know that they will gladly sell you a phone, but have no interest in offering "customer service". I will never go into a Verizon Authorized Store again. I will only deal with a Verizon Corporate store. read more

Well came here to get my money back for the pure gear steel 360 screen protector for the s9 plus. First of all do not buy it. Within a couple days I had a few dust specks on the inside of my protector and the sales rep said they should never even put this on. I was not able to get my money back like one of the sales staff said yesterday but they did upsell me to the liquid glass so I will see how this does. Overall good experience and very friendly staff. My husband and I purchased new phones on 3/11/2023, we originally came in to buy my husband a new phone because his stopped working, the sales person who sold the phones to us pretty much shoved the Samsung galaxy in our face even though we were wanting to purchase the new iPhone 14, I didn't need a new phone but the sales associate Tim said it was a buy one get one deal, not sure how if i am paying for both phones, apparently there was a 30 day return policy that was "signed" not by me, and they will not take our phones back and give us the iPhone instead, the manager Jay gave me their GM Freddy's email and he hasn't responded to me and it's been almost a week since I emailed him. This place is full of people that lie to you, also never got a copy of the sales agreement when we left so that's another sign this place is shady. read more

I would give this place minus stars if allowed. I have personally spent 1000s of dollars with this store and Verizon since I have been with this carrier for over 30 years. My current plan's monthly cost is in excess of $350. My daughter got married and wanted to go on her husband's plan. What a nightmare. Three of the personnel this store didn't really want to assist us and when one finally did all he did was provide us a phone number to call ourselves and then ran off to just stand around. After being on hold for over 30 minutes...after waiting 30 minutes to get the number to begin with...I finally told the guy who provided the number how long we had been on hold, hoping there was something he could do to get this simple task completed. I immediately got attitude from him, with him saying that he gave us the direct number. Obviously his standing around would have been compromised if he had to assist us. Of course his piss poor attitude got my piss poor attitude in return as I told him that it would be easier to just changed carriers. He then told me that there were plenty of other carriers and other Verizon stores and that my business wasn't appreciated. After assuring the little asshat that I wouldn't be returning, we were taken off of hold and were able to complete the plan switch....all in less than 8 minutes, once connected. This store has consistently gone downhill in the past 5 years. TERRIBLE customer service, arrogant attitudes, misrepresentation of plans, and constant up-selling. I would STRONGLY recommend avoiding this store and either going to Best Buy or doing all of your purchasing straight through Verizon online. I will be sure to share my experience with all of my friends and with Verizon itself. read more

The only reason this Verizon location even gets one star is because I had to put at least one. This location, has crooks for employees. I traded an iPhone in at this location for 500$ off of a new iPhone 11. The sales person Ben, was so pushy and lied about so many things.. but that is a story for another day. The main reason for my review is that my sales rep Ben never put in that I had a trade in device and when I went back to the store to ask question I spoke with a sales rep spencer and the manager Eric and they said they could see a note of a trade in but the trade in warehouse was backed up because of covid. Now I'm almost done paying off my phone and still no trade in credit or any documents of a trade in. So I went back to the store again and the manager Eric didn't try to help at all and was very rude and condescending. He told me it was my fault and I should have come back sooner to resolve this.. which I did and spoke with him and he reassured me my trade in would go through. He also didn't care to see the text message proof between the sales rep and I or ask any questions. He was stern on this being my fault. I was robbed by this location and none of the staff care to do anything about it or help their customers out... especially during a global pandemic! I had went to Verizon real quick to check to see if I had an upgrade before I brought my husband lunch. I was about to have surgery a few days later so I needed a phone in order to keep in touch with my husband and family and something to keep me busy. Spencer Sellers greeted me, and let me know that I do in fact have an upgrade. He was AWESOME!! The nicest guy, so helpful and understanding. I told him I was going to leave and come back in an hour and he offered to start the process so when I returned from lunch with my husband it would be a quick and easy process. Verizon sent me an email telling me to verify my military discount and the app they sent me would not open. Samantha logged on to my Verizon account and experienced the same difficulties, but she spent the time needed to resolve the problem for me and verify my military discount with Verizon. Start to finish, Samantha spent an hour with me, which is how long it took to input the data needed to re-verify my military discount. This is my first ever review of anything. It takes a extremely bad experience to drive me to waste my time doing this but this store is a 3rd party reseller. This means, based on several conversations I had with Verizon corporate customer service reps, that they have their own policies that Verizon does not dictate or hold them accountable for. In other words they can be unethical and overtly sales oriented without any fear of Verizon reprimanding or threatening to revoke their resale agreement. The sales person was Harold. He is a slick salesperson. He ripped my wife off, was extremely rude and unprofessional, and unethical. When my wife asked for the manager, he said, "I'm the man, I'm him". My needs were simple to move from one phone to another. And Zack was very helpful to do the best he could, given the constraints a Verizon Wireless. Anyway I learned a lot and found the staff to be very cheerful and helpful. Over the New Year's holiday, I had planned to go into a Verizon store to add my line and my husband's line to my sister's account to save some money on our bill each month. We were not planning to upgrade phones as ours were paid off and still new enough that we didn't feel the need to get the latest models. We ended up being directed to this branch because we needed a different type of SIM card that the store we originally went into, did not have. I can honestly say I wish I had the opportunity to go back and time and tell myself NOT to go into this branch because we had one of the worst experiences from the "manager" Eric! He bad-mouthed the previous Verizon store we had come from, saying, "We shouldn't mess around with those little authorized retailers and should just come to him, he would take care of us...". Also witnessed him willingly give misinformation to another customer about her product that she was there to pick up, in order to buy himself more time to finish with us and take care of her sale, rather than let another rep process her pickup and likely to make himself sound and look more important than the customers sitting right in front of him. He was extremely pushy and was very reminiscent to a used car salesman in the way that he prioritized customers whom he would likely be getting a sale from. Due to the fact that we weren't upgrading to new phones, I got the impression that he was trying to rush us through the process and in doing so, missed an important step in the setup on our phones which rendered them unusable until we got them unlocked with our current carrier (something he should have been able to see before completing the transfer). We were instructed to call our current carrier to get the phones unlocked and Eric said that should "solve the issue and we should be good to go.", unfortunately that was NOT the case! We successfully got the phones unlocked with our current carrier and they STILL had the same error message, so we came back to the store where Eric made a few demeaning comments such as, "I know that you're a little impatient, but this isn't my fault, it's your carrier's fault...", and "Well maybe they just TOLD you they were unlocked and they really are not...". He also accused us of lying about how long the phones had actually been paid off (1.5yrs) because he claimed most carriers only keep a carrier lock on a phone that's not paid off, or for a month after being paid off (all UNTRUE). He suggested that we wait until the next day to give the "system" a chance to reset overnight and that they would probably be fine in the morning, but if not, that we could come back to his store for more assistance; he also stated that he would "Call and check-in tomorrow to see how it's going." (which never happened). After leaving the store for the second time just as frustrated as before, we decided to call our current carrier one last time to just see if waiting overnight was actually a valid solution, and were surprised to find out that waiting wasn't going to change anything and that the phones were indeed unlocked (which takes effect immediately). The representative was very patient and understanding and offered to try to help us troubleshoot and suggested we try to do a hard restart on both phones (iPhones) and was surprised the Verizon rep (Eric) hadn't suggested that in the first place to reset all the network and carrier settings. Once we did the hard reset, the phones powered on and accepted the new SIM cards and we were back in business. We were so relieved and thankful that the rep from our previous carrier was actually able to help us resolve an issue that Eric should have been more than capable of doing, especially as the "manager" of the Verizon store. In recap.... save yourself the trouble and do NOT go into this store, I would suggest either calling Verizon directly or going to the Verizon store in Atascadero off of Curbaril (the original one we had gone into who'd sent us to Eric's store for the different SIM cards), that gentleman (I'm blanking on the name), was VERY helpful and kind!! read more

We've been Verizon customers for 20 years. We take really good care of our phones and don't upgrade a lot. If the phone works then I'm happy. When we do get new phones we typically either order on line or do it at Target. I dislike the stores. But we had to go in to the store and we are so sorry we did. Erik, who may be the manager helped us and made promises that in the end he couldn't fulfill at checkout. I ended up buying a phone that I didn't need because he told me I'd be getting a big discount that didn't even happen at checkout. I left saying "man he's a good salesman" and actually commented during the transition that I felt like I was at a car dealership. I left feeling duped and have regrets of even going in that store. Why 2 stars? Because Erik was a pro at being a slick salesmen, even though at times he said things in a rude way. (Earning 1 star) and the other star is because the store is big and clean. I normally avoid verizon stores and go to best buy for the non confrontiational sales staff however this store is different. Had to get a phone on the fly and was not near a best buy. I am only used to verizon stores in the bigger cities and their typically pushy sales staff so I was a bit tentative. But I was wrong, martin made me feel instantly at home. I never felt pressured. He was very knowledable in all the product lines and made sure I got the phone I needed nit the one he wanted to sale me, very impressed. Stay away from this 3rd party retail store. They have very dishonest customer service representatives. I ordered an iPhone, which was delivered to their store. They proceeded to sell my iPhone (registered in my name) a few hours after it was delivered, to another customer. They (Ben) lied and tried to tell me Verizon sent them the wrong iPhone. I had to call Verizon Corporate to find out that my iPhone (registered in my name) was being used by another person. Verizon had to file a lost/stolen missing phone report to shut the phone off. Also sorry for the person who was basically sold a stolen phone. read more

My 16 year son & I went in to swap his phone data onto another family phone, as well as to get myself a new phone. We were greeted immediately by Justin, and for two hours, he took great care of us. It was long & tedious, but he was very patient, kind, and kept a lovely sense of humor throughout the entire process. It wasn't an easy appointment, but he realized that our two old phones could be traded in for my new phone, and while the old data was being erased, he got my new phone set-up. He was knowledgeable, courteous & he knew his products very well. His co-workers (I was able to watch their sales & interactions over the two hours, too) were equally wonderful. I was a regional sales manager for a global bio-tech company, and my husband owned one of the largest privately held chemical companies in the world. We grew up working customer service before we held management and owner positions, so we always prided ourselves on our customer service skills and made sure it was just as important to our employees.
