extremely poor reception, and i don't mean with the equipment. i walk in saying an inoffensive joke and the person i'm talking to immediately takes offense. he's super belligerent, and sneers at me through his teeth when he talks. he's the manager (of course) but he acts like an angry gym teacher or a bouncer. he tells me the last hour is by appointment-only, and they're booked, but he also does not offer to answer any questions. he then tells me he has one slot open tomorrow - but it takes some back and forth with this guy to realize he means during the appointments-only last hour. the words "you're welcome to come in any time tomorrow, and if you want to come in at this time tomorrow, i have one slot open" do not seem to form in his mind and make its way to his voice. "and if i can answer one or two questions now, feel free to ask" is like a phrase in some foreign language he's never heard before. he doesn't even mention i can come in any time during the day. he's so obsessed with his ability to control me or limit me (apparently) to that one hour. in that moment, it's like that one hour before closing is his whole life purpose. read more

Wow - this experience was like no other - and not in a good way. My wife, my newborn child (3 months old), and myself went in around 1PM on 17 Nov 2019 to check and see when we were due for an upgrade. We found out that we were due for one and so we left to get our other line and came back to the store around 5:50PM with our phones to change and upgrade. The store closes at 6PM on Sundays and I understand from being a business owner as well that it isn't always the best when customers come in right before closing but that doesn't excuse how we were treated. When we walked in they had one of the speakers turned up loud enough to wake up our child. They started shutting the doors/windows at 5:55PM and had the door locked at 5:58PM - the times are important. The third adult to our party showed up with her phone so that we could change her phone - she also is a new mom and had her 4 Month old in a carseat that she was carrying. So to make it easy for her I walked over to the door and unlocked it - it still was not 6PM - and I went to open it to let her in so she wouldn't have to hassle with the door and her carseat. One of the employees named Alex literally came sprinting at us yelling from the other side of the store - yelling, "No, no, no, you cannot let her in. Keep her outside she might rob the place." I asked him if he was joking because we had told Josh (the guy who was helping us that she was coming and he said it was fine). So I just told Justene to come in and he barricaded himself between the door, Justene, and myself - continuing to yell about how this store has been robbed in the past and that she was a threat. So I asked if I could take her phone from her and he said, "yes, as long as she doesn't cross the threshold into the store." So I took the phone and walked back and he was still quite angry with me and still yelling about how when the doors are locked they must remain locked and as a customer I cannot touch the door. I looked at him and asked if he was joking because only an idiot would assume that a 90lbs girl with a carseat and a 4 month old is going to rob the place. He was like sorry those are the rules. Sorry, and I told him that it didn't matter - his reaction was completely out of place. We completed out business with Alex looming over in the corner while the speakers blared and Josh helped get us out of the store as quickly as he could. Josh was actually quite nice - under the circumstances. As it turned out I didn't upgrade my phone because of the incident, my wife did however, and we also got Justene's phone upgraded. As a customer I have never been treated so poorly. I have never had an employee sprint at me and yell at me for something so mundane. As an employer I know that he would not have a job after today. I'm not one to talk "talk to the manager" or "ask for the manager" but this was an exception. They only had their assistant manager and so when I talked to him I said that the doors were locked at 5:58 and that I tried to let Justene in at 5:59PM and then got yelled at - his response wasn't to address the fact that his employee streamed at a customer but to say that he was the one to lock the door. I tried to tell him that I understand their policy about after 6PM the door is locked and they are closed and they don't want to have the chance of someone coming in and robbing the place. I understand that - but that wasn't the issue. The issue was the fact that their employee named Alex yelled at us and made Justene stay outside the store with her 4 month old baby. We had the keys to the car inside and she couldn't get to her car, Alex and the assistant manager wouldn't let us open the door to give her the keys since the door was locked already. I told the assistant manager to look at the cameras that would show him the entire incident and he just said well I can let Alex know not to do that again. I know as a business owner if any of my employees acted like that - they would be looking for a new job immediately. It was unprovoked and absolutely ridiculous. - it has now been a couple weeks since I posted this and I got an automated response from the business to get in contact through email. I was in here and received some great, friendly service. I just bought a simple accessory (phone cover), but the staff was friendly and made it a smooth transaction. It was interesting - there's a whole system set-up so that when you arrive you are greeted by a host and then speak to appropriate person who can help you rather than talk to people who may not be able to assist you - it definitely saves time and unnecessary aggravation. read more

Customer service reps were knowledgeable about the phones, which is good. I had tried to order online and I assure you those fold do not understand anything about iPhones. My only issues were the hard upsells. I left with $200 more stuff than I needed, but took it as my dad was paying (not going to lie.) I just HATE being "sold" on stuff. I know what I want before I walk in the door. Just the online sales people suck so I was forced to go inside the actual store. Secondly, I was told the update would take a long time to load on their WiFi and I should do it at home. I had heard that before so didn't think twice about it. The guy gave me ZERO instructions about actually turning service on for the phone. My WiFi and what not worked and I could send texts. Just no cellular service. Took me three hours to rectify. I haven't been to this Verizon since 2017 and let me tell you, the customer service has plummeted!!! I was excited to get help with choosing a new iPhone, but I was met with aloofness by the associate, Marco Rodriguez. I had to basically beg him to explain the line of phones and the 5g plan to me. He didn't offer any plans or anything! Then I felt insulted by his comment of, "well it's a 5 year old phone" regarding the trade-in value of my phone. It was the worst experience. I left without making a purchase and I noticed another couple that left without making a purchase. I observed some of their experience as well and it looked to be going as disappointing as mine. I'll try the Westside Verizon Bc despite leaving without a purchase, I would like help with learning how the plans have changed and what the new iPhones are like. read more

Purchased a new Samsung S22 Ultra with 512 Gig memory. The phone keeps disconnecting from phone service, then tries to connect to internet calling, demands you verify address for 911 services. It makes this request every few seconds even after you verify and save. Spent hours on line with Samsung Tech support. They say its a provider issue "Verizon". Verizon says its a defective phone. Verizon Corporate store says I have to get replacement from Customer service. Customer service says I have to return it to the store. My new Verizon phone is a paper weight that is 5 days old. I sent an message to Hans Vestberg, (Chairman and CEO of Verizon) letting them know what poor customer service we have received and that they are about to lose a 20 year customer. If they don't care then I don't want to continue my relationship with this company. I requested a resolution by Friday January 6, 2023. I will update this review based on their response. It was time for my husband to get a new phone and I wanted to treat myself to the new iPhone X! We didn't have to wait too long. Vincent helped us out so much! He helped my husband pick out his phone and made sure to keep his discount and pay about the same. He was very knowledgeable about both the Samsung and IPhone. Even while setting my husbands phone up, he gave great information on the home security systems. He was able to quickly provide numbers for us. He talked to my husband about the difference between cases to protect his phone. The store is located in Uptown. Very nice and clean and great staff! read more

Walked in. Was signed in. Waited 2 minutes. Told them I wanted to upgrade my iPhone. Bought a phone. Bim bam boom. The process could not have been more simple. I drove a few miles out of my way to go to this location as the "authorized" dealers aren't authorized to give discounts or bundles. The staff were great. Oh my goodness this place was busy and I just wanted to know if other locations had a shorter wait time after we were quoted that would be over 30-40 minute wait. For a phone company they gave me the biggest runaround, for making a simple phone call. I called the San Mateo location which routes you to a auto bot who eventually sent me to an operator in Texas, (who later reveals her location after she can't figure out the stores numbers), which is supposed to be the number I called. I wanted to call several stores, but she couldn't figure that out unless I had ZIP Codes and even this, if it ever happened, does not go the local store. They are still going to end up sending me eventually back to her. Needless to say we ended up walking out of the store after waiting 30 minutes and never getting anywhere to find out other location wait times. I was happy to do the calling myself if I could reach each store directly. My simple question was, Is there a wait at your store and how long is It? A simple phone call was a waste of my time 30 min. and theirs. Let's say that overall the store receives poor customer satisfaction, both in person and on the phone. Verizon, figure out some way to make your customers able to reach the store they are calling. We never got any help in this store. read more

I have always been a menial store girl. I'm and out but with covid the location is closed. Decided to go into this store and look at upgrade options and I will say that because of the lack of customer service I received from Lance, you almost lost me as a client. Everything started off fine but when he realized he wasn't going to be able to upgrade me until there were changes made to my plan, he became disinterested in assisting me. I asked him about pricing and he was dismissive and only when I brought up the deals I saw today online did he say oh yeah, and followed it by ur best best is shopping online or calling in after the other lines port out. I left and went over to ATT across the street. While waiting I spoke to a friend that said the service in the city was poor. So for now I'm stuck with Verizon but thought I should let other know, avoid Lance because he clearly has lost passion for his job! Oh, he did get me the number for the department I needed to call but only after I told him that the chat was a waste of my time suggesting I go to the store, only to make an appt and be told they couldn't help. read more

Absolute garbage!! Went in to take advantage of the the special iPhone 13 deal they have going on. I knew what phone I wanted, the woman helping me was trying to tell me that I would basically be getting "old technology" with the iPhone 13 and that I should go with the 13 Pro Max....uhh NO!! I work with these phones every day and that's not accurate! Whatever, she's getting me through the trade in process and then charges me without offering to show me any of the screens, I have no idea what's going on. Then, after I'm charged, I have to ASK for a receipt. When I look at it, I was charged for their monthly billed insurance plan! $17/mo! I know that I want insurance through Apple, and if she had even bothered to ask if I wanted the insurance plan, I would've said no! Then, when I came back and asked to have it canceled, they said I would have to come in on my own time after my phone arrived and cancel it. No apologies or anything. The sales people so obviously only care about getting their commission and not about helping people get what's right for them. I'm glad that I took the time to look, but if you aren't paying attention in this store: THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. Buy your iPhones online instead!! read more

I went in knowing exactly what I wanted. I was due for upgrade. I just wanted the phone with a 2 year contract like I have always done. The sales guy put in my order under the edge plan without tell me. Then when I was signing the agreement he lie and say that just stated the usual that I agree to the two year plan and the upgrade fee. So now instead of just paying $299 for my iPhone 6. I am paying almost $1000. And when I complain about it. They told me I had only 3 days to cancel the order. But I didn't realize till I receive my first bill. Waited an hour and a half before i even spoke to a salesman about getting an upgrade. I knew exactly what I wanted and just needed to pay for it. Maybe a fast lane is a good idea? Verizon has a $30 upgrade fee now. Supposedly because the premiums they pay on the phones are more than they used to be... which I know isn't really true. That's ok. Every other company has one too, and corporate is just following along. They kept trying to sell me other things. Telling me that phone cases were cheaper at the store than they are online... I understand that they work on commission, but after that long of a wait I really just wanted to get out of there and I'm sure they did too. Then as I was checking out... they got robbed. Some shady guy that had been waiting for a while too. Didn't really blame him at that point, BUT I did feel bad for the guys working at the time because they were obviously really busy.m Also... It is very unprofessional when you see one of the salesmen chatting up the customers. "Oh if you have any problems with the phone you can just text me." Lol Good luck to anyone who walks in here. I had almost decided to switch carriers and called to ask a few preliminary questions. I explained to the representative that my existing contract would be up in a couple weeks. He said he was going to transfer me to the correct person and hung up on me. This is a phone carrier that can't perform a simple line transfer. That's a terrible 1st impression to make with a potential new customer who reached out to them. I won't be calling them back. Granted, this is probably not the store's fault, since the number listed here probably redirects to a call center. Verizon wireless has an excellent system where you can purchase the phone you want online and then pick it up at a nearby store if available. This morning I did just that online. The process was smooth and easy. I got the email that said my order was complete but wait for another email before I go to the store to pick up the phone. I ordered the phone at 9:35am. As of 6:51pm I still don't have the email. I figured it may have been over looked so I printed my purchase email and went to the Uptown store to pick up the phone. I arrive around 6:45 and come to find out their order system is "down." My order is in fact ready to go BUT because the system is down I can't take my order with me. Is this unfortunate and a possible act of God? Yes. However, the red tape and lack of follow up is disappointing. Maybe give me my phone order that is waiting in the back for me and then complete it later? Maybe there's more to it than I think? Mostly likely, but this is at the expense of the customer. I will make another trip tomorrow to get the phone but I won't be feeling good about Verizon like I could have been if this process was seamless. read more

We signed up for the Edge plan (upgrade phone every year plan) after a lot of research. What we missed was that at the one your point when you go to upgrade your phone they change the contract. The contract cost goes up and their new upgrade cycle is once every 18 months instead of every 12 months (so now you're paying 50% more than the FULL cost of the phone). They failed to mention this when we first signed up. Of course we didn't want to agree to this, so they said we can forfeit our upgrade and wait another year for the contract to end. On the day my wife thought she was getting a new phone, she left extremely upset. That really bites, Verizon! We really do feel like we were conned. None of this was mentioned the day we signed up for the plan even though we did a lot of research and asked a ton of questions. I tried to set up new service but the associates could not get a fully working line. They set up a second one without disconnecting the first. After many calls to tier 2 level support it was determined that they coud not offer the service that their competitor could. I canceled service within the 15 day period. A month later Verizon sent me a bill for $118 for service that was not properly shut off. It took me another moth to get Verizion to correct that. Go with anyone but Verizon or at the very least dont go to the uptown store. read more

As soon as the manager who greeted me at the door realized I wasn't buying a new phone, rather I wanted to finalize closing my Verizon account, he became extremely rude to me. He relegated me to a spot in the corner and proceeded to help 2 people who had come in after I had. I caught him as he was running around and asked if I was waiting for a specific person to handle my account cancellation. He said no so I asked if he could've helped me. "I could've he said." Seeing the look on my face he said he could give me the phone number of someone to help. I'd already explained how horrible that experience had been which was why I had driven an hour from Tijeras to the store. I declined and he said, "well then you're gonna have to wait." And wait I did. A full hour after entering the store another associate took care of me. The manager continued to help paying customers. Reinforces my whole opinion of what used to be a customer service oriented provider which now has zero concept or concern for a customer. I wanted to deck the manager. read more

A representative claimed I would pay $44 for a phone, $45 for prepaid service, and could port over my number. After paying ~$101, they claimed they were unable to port over my number. They could only do this if I paid $200 extra (the so-called "regular cost" of the phone). I told them to cancel everything, that I was only interested in switching to a carrier that could port over my number and did not want to pay $200+ for a phone. They tend refunded me all but a $45 restocking fee!!! I never touched the phone. After much argument and upon finally agreeing that there was a breach of contract on their part (a saleswoman apparently did not follow her manager's instructions on initial payment), they recognized that I should not have to pay the restocking fee. However, after trying for ~1 hour, they claimed there was no possible way of returning the money to me. So, I walked into this Verizon Store. I walked out ~2 hours later with absolutely nothing, but paid $45. Obviously, I will continue to dispute this. Avoid this store. read more

We were unhappy with our tmobile coverage so we switched back to Verizon. The first sales person I talked to there seemed pushy and uninformed. I lifted and returned later and was very pleased. I did have to wait longer than I wanted, but Viola was great! She was calm, honest, and informed. She didn't come off pushy at all. She helped us greatly. We are paying more now for our cells phones, but I'm happier with our coverage. read more

Worst customer service, my sister and I went into this store today to upgrade her phone. Howard was the associate that "helped" us. He started off by questioning why she wanted a particular phone asking her don't you take pictures on your phone, don't you listen to music etc. I understand sales and up selling but He just had such an attitude about it it was hard to see the good qualities of the phone. We had been in the store a few weeks prior and inquired about the price we were quoted, first he said he didn't know what I was talking about then he said oh yes I remember it was on sale but that's over now. I suggested to my sister that we leave and he said that it was best if we left. Completely unprofessional I have never been treated so poorly by a Verizon representative. Waited 40 min while I watched 12 employees, yes 12 I counted them, wonder around while the whopping 6 customers waited patiently. 2 employees had a nice conversation WITH the manager about how they cut their hair while this poor family is waiting with their young child crying. When it finally was my turn I was told my phone could be replaced even though it was 1 day passed warranty (this is coming from the manager) he calls me an hour later and says sorry can't do it anymore would you like to upgrade and proceeds his sales pitch. I love Verizon but this store and manager are terrible. When you employees out number your customers how on earth does it take 40 min to be seen? It would also be a good practice not to speak on your personal matters while customers are near. If you have all day to wait this is the place to go! read more

Terrible experience at this store. Salesman, Thomas, was demeaning and condescending. Simple questions were reluctantly answered with sarcasm and impatience. He lied and said they had no screen protectors at all...I assume this is so they can make another sale when you crack your screen.
