Nostalgic and an absolute childhood memory fulfilled. This company stood the test of time and came back with a significant revamp bringing the old school vibes back with an even better experience. The donuts are made fresh daily and they are huge as well as delicious. I cannot believe that I had the chance to try this awesome establishment. That open glow Super cute spot in Columbus for donuts. First, yelp was wrong and said they were closed but I saw the open sign glowing on this misty day. Easy ordering, step up to the window and make your picks (because you can't get just one). I liked their spin on fritters with the squares. Definitely will get another on my next visit. While my husband and I were strolling down the sidewalk, we noticed this donut shop across the street. Since it was after 2pm they didn't have much variety left. I got the cinnamon donuts and they were really good. If I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely be ordering some more of those. read more

What a gem! I was in town visiting family and they insisted we pop over to Veri Best Donuts for breakfast one day. OMG. I'm so glad they did! There's no dine in or really an inside to the shop at all.... you walk on over to a window, order and it is promptly handed over in a box. This is a Columbus institution having been around for 70 years. There's glazed, filled, frosted, cake, specialty and more! The fan favorite for us was the blueberry-- though everything was amazing. I came on Monday and they were closed so I did some shopping nearby and returned Tuesday with my son. I've had my little eye on Veri since my first visit to Columbus. They did not disappoint. 3.8/5, mind you this is a donut/bakery type of review and not a normal restaurant review. They have some top tier classic donuts at a reasonable price. I would put these up there with Krispy Kreme donuts when talking about how they taste and feel. The variety is quite vast too of some of their offerings. Great little place in downtown Columbus! Been in business since 1954, and the donuts have an olde time look and flavor to them. I had the cake donut with chocolate icing, slightly crispy and rich chocolate icing. Also tried an Applebest, which is their version of an apple fritter. It looks like an apple fritter was run over by a steamroller, but the taste was fantastic! Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. read more

Great donuts and exceptional service! I was almost 4PM on Sunday and I was out walking and came across Veri Best Donuts. Right on Broadway with some seating outside. Their bacon bar looked glorious and was calling my name. I ordered that and an iced vanilla coffee. The person who took my order was very nice (I did t catch her name) and actually gave me a few extra donuts in the bag. What a nice surprise! I found a nice bench in the shade and enjoyed a light, airy bar donut with the most delicious icing and entire slice of bacon. I'm sorry I didn't snap a pic but just stop by and see for yourself. They have something for everyone! I wanted to pay it forward (free donuts) so after a few people looked at me crazy for offering a bag of free donuts .. this young couple took them off my hands. I made sure they knew courtesy of Veri Best. They still stopped by Veri Best and got some iced coffees which are really delicious!! Treat yourself to the "Veri Best!" (Pun intended!) Cute little donut shop. I was visiting Columbus and I had to get donuts ( that's what I do every tine I'm in a new city) I'm glad I stopped here. Even thought they were out of many things by the time I got there , around 1 pm , I was recommended a cinnamon twist, which was great! Very soft and pillowy! Perfect for an afternoon snack! I have been coming here since we arrived in Georgia. We have really enjoyed coming here and they do have the best donuts in the Columbus area. However, I'm assuming she's the owner (or at most, the manager), her attitude towards her customers is very, VERY lacking! I came today, early AM, and noticed when I got back home (I live on fort Benning) that I was missing the blueberry butter crème donut (which isn't cheap). I called thinking she would refund me for the one donut that I didn't receive. However, that isn't how it went down at all. First of all, the lady on the phone was telling her I was missing a donut and that I wanted a refund for the one I didn't receive (which you'd think wouldn't be a problem), but the way she was speaking in the background - telling me I needed to come back and that she wasn't giving me a refund. I'm sorry, what?! I than proceeded to let her know I definitely wouldn't be returning as I lived almost 20 mins away and that at this point I wouldn't be coming back at all for her nasty attitude towards me. Once she got on the phone she wouldn't listen to me. Talked over me the entire time and than hung up on me bc I finally yelled at her that she wasn't listening to me. Your attitude towards customers is down right crappy. It's a good thing they don't see your face when ordering them bc you're not a friendly face/person. I also want to add, in the end, it's not even about the refund. It's about how this woman speaks to other people and if she speaks and acts like this asking for a simple refund - I can only think of how she must talk and treat her employees or other customers. read more

Listen, this place is a must visit in downtown Columbus. Stayed at the Hampton. Walked down. OMG...these donuts are to die for. Little walk up window, donuts on display. Boxed them. Y'all... Best. Donuts. Around!!!!!!! I am a HUGE donut eater. Any and all donuts, gimmee gimmee, gimmee but this place is by far the best I've ever eaten. Pricey??? Yep lol but well worth it!!! I'm new to the area and have heard that this was the spot to go if you're looking for a decent donut, and they weren't lying. The donuts were decent, definitely not worth $24.84 for a dozen. Every single donut in that box was dry and/ or over fried, not only that but the management was less than enjoyable. Everyone working seemed annoyed at one another and at the customers, even the woman I'm assuming is the owner and/or manager. This place was absent from Columbus for a few years and when they came back were just as good as the original. There is no place (anywhere) that makes twists as good as this place....especially when they are warm. This is not the place to go if you are on a diet. But dump that diet and enjoy life....! read more
