Every time I send flowers somewhere it is really important for me to find a florist who is a true artisan and does not produce cookie cutter arrangements. Blackbird Floral did just that. The arrangement was beautiful and very well received by my son and future daughter-in-law. They sent a photo and couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous the flower arrangement was. Blackbird Floral will be my go-to when sending flowers in Austin, Texas. I ordered the arrangement late morning and they were delivered that same evening. I cannot say enough good things about this small company. It was also very difficult to choose and arrangement as their website photos captured so many beautiful options. Thank you Blackbird!! In route to a bookstore, I noticed the succulent store and decided to pop in. Succulent Native is a plant boutique in Austin, Texas, specializing in succulents, cacti, and creative plant arrangements. Quite honestly, I never knew that there were so many permutations of succulents. I actually believe I might be able to keep a succulent alive since they require little maintenance. I learned from the store manager that they host succulent parties. That would be a cool way to spend time with family and friends. In addition, while they have some beautiful plants, some can be a bit pricey. With that said, there is a section of the store that has some reasonably priced smaller plants. There's a little something for everyone.

We had such an amazing time on Lake Travis thanks to Willo and Float On. Willo gave superb instructions on operating and piloting the boat including an overview of relevant customs and laws while out on the water. Our group had six adults and one 2-year old and they had plenty of water safety devices for all ages. On a side note, it was wonderful to see how genuinely excited Willo was about Lake Travis once again having a healthy water level after several dry years. In terms of our experience on the lake, we got excellent advice on where to travel based on our team's interests and after following his directions it felt like we had arrived on our own private lake. We probably only saw a handful of other boats during our 3-hour excursion and that was only in passing. The boat came with a Garmin GPS that made it really easy to retrace our steps. For those wondering, there was excellent cell phone service out on the lake and we were able to use our phone GPS, make calls, and stream music. The boat had some nice integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity and we were able to jam out to our own tunes. There was also a cool flotation device attached to the back of the boat called the Aqua Lily Pad which we unrolled after anchoring, we had multiple adults laying on it without sinking into the lake. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience and we would highly recommend booking with Float On.

He was introduced to me as the boat owner and came across as relaxed and not at all pushy--qualities I appreciate when considering a business, especially since part of my motivation for attending was to explore options for my birthday celebration. Unfortunately, Paul's friends left a negative impression. A couple of them outright refused to acknowledge me, turning away when a gentleman attempted to introduce me. Others made inappropriate jokes about my accent in a condescending and offensive manner. One individual even made vulgar comments, implying that Paul should get my phone number to discuss event planning details later, which was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. While the event itself was enjoyable, the boat ride interesting, the behavior of those around the boat owner and the fact that the boat owner never replied to my text message trying to discuss my event, was disappointing and detracted from my overall experience. This experience left me with a negative impression of the boat's management, and I strongly feel that they are not welcoming to immigrants. The group consisted of older white men whose behavior was filled with prejudice and hostility. And for that reason I felt compelled to post a review discouraging people like me- and those against this type of behavior - to stay away and make better choices. We can use our money to invest in a much better experience elsewhere I left the boat traumatized and truly disgusted by those old men behaviors. Do better!

We were stressed, scrambling to get everything together, and honestly weren't sure if we'd even be able to make it happen. Then we found Shoreline Boat Rentals, and Captain Dave completely saved the day. From the beginning until the moment we said goodbye, Dave's customer service was second to none. Even with such short notice, he had the yacht cleaned, prepped, and ready to go. When we arrived, he had a checklist ready to make sure we didn't forget anything in our vehicles before we left the dock. It sounds simple, but when you're trying to organize a bachelor party, little things like that make a huge difference. He took all the stress off our shoulders so we could focus on having fun. The yacht itself was absolutely beautiful--honestly, the pictures on the website don't do it justice. It's even more impressive in person, and it was spotless from front to back. What impressed me most was Dave's attention to detail. I needed a screwdriver to fix one of our water guns, and before I knew it, Dave showed up with one and even fixed it for me. That's the kind of customer service you just don't see very often. Once we got to Devil's Cove, Dave went above and beyond. He helped grill burgers, made sure everyone had food, drinks, and plenty of ice, and kept checking in to make sure everyone was having a great time. It honestly felt like his mission was to take all the thinking out of the day so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves--and he absolutely accomplished that. Safety was also a top priority. Before we left the dock, Dave clearly explained the rules while the boat was underway and while it was anchored. Everything was straightforward, easy to understand, and he made sure everyone stayed safe without taking away from the fun. Pulling into Devil's Cove was one of the highlights of the day. We cruised in with the music playing, the yacht looked incredible, and it definitely turned some heads to get the attention we wanted! It made for an unforgettable bachelor party. Captain Dave didn't just provide a yacht--he created an experience. He turned what could have been a stressful, last-minute situation into one of the best days we've had together. 10/10 across the board: customer service, professionalism, cleanliness, safety, and the overall experience. Our wedding was on 9/1/19 at Brodie Homestead. Because we were working with a small floral budget, the most affordable option we found was an HEB Florist for personals and centerpieces. (I used the HEB on Brodie Lane. Can't say I'd recommend them. They were short one centerpiece, so my friend bought some flowers and put one together herself.) The backdrop for our ceremony was a large stone wall. To save on cost, I initially planned to ask family to hang artificial greenery along the wall. However, Brodie Homestead required an insured vendor to do this because some hooks are quite high. With just a month left before my wedding, I frantically contacted several florists in Austin. Addie was my contact person at Verbena. She was very responsive via email and offered the best price. She emailed me a very clear proposal / contract. For weddings, Addie said they only accept payments by check, cash, or money order. On the day of, Verbena arrived very promptly and setup the most beautiful display on the stone wall, using a sketch I provided as a guide. It came out much better than I envisioned. Our party ended at 11pm and Verbena arrived to take down the greenery, as was required by our venue. In the end, I'm very grateful we used a professional and didn't use artificial garland. It probably would have looked so tacky! Haha. While I only used Verbena for a small part of our wedding floral budget, they far exceeded my expectations. The thought of picking flowers for my wedding made me sick to my stomach as I am not creative and know nothing about flowers. I saw Verbena on my friends Facebook and clicked on the photo of a wedding they had done and WOW, I knew that was the place to call. I dealt with LuAnn and she was great, very friendly and put me at ease right away. All I could tell the poor girl was that I wanted roses and what my colors were. She went right to work putting together ideas and came up with the idea of peacock feathers...I LOVED IT! I would have never thought of that but the colors of my wedding were perfect. The samples Verbena put together for me were incredible, I was so excited to see what I would have on my big day and was more impressed than I thought I would be since they were samples but they looked like something out of a magazine and didn't cost a zillion dollars! I have a budget for my wedding and I never thought I could afford to have this quality of flowers. I couldn't be happier with my choice, if you have any doubt just give them a call or stop by and see for yourself, I am so glad I did, I am one happy bride! Words can not describe how perfect and beautiful the flowers were at my wedding! LuAnn and her team knocked it out of the park. I had a destination wedding in Austin, TX and I had to plan it all from overseas. That being said, LuAnn was beyond accessible, and accommodating. She really worked with me to make my floral dreams come true. Let me just tell you that my flowers were perfect, they were show stoppers. I received so many compliments from my guests, her flowers really tied my whole wedding vision together. Also, one thing that I really appreciated is that LuAnn was able to donate my flowers to a local hospital after the wedding, which allowed more than just our guests to enjoy their beauty. She was also able to get me a particularly hard to get South African flower in its off season at a great cost, and they were absoluelty stunning! LuAnn and her team at Verbena were such a pleasure to work with. They offered creative (and beautiful) solutions to help us stay within and maximize our budget. At our venue, we had the ceremony and reception in the same room (with a cocktail hour/room flip in between). During the ceremony I was a bit preoccupied (understandably...), but I did notice the gorgeous floral arrangements at our altar. My groom and I had a sneak peek of the set up for the reception before our guests came back in, and I will never forget how gorgeous the room looked, and the flowers were a huge part of that. My bouquet was absolutely stunning and the bridesmaids' bouquets were exactly what I wanted, but somehow ended up even more beautiful than I pictured them to be. I can't recommend Verbena highly enough. We also use Verbena for floral deliveries here in town (birthdays, special occasions, etc), and they have a lovely shop with cute gift-y items. read more

The arrangement I received for my birthday in January was the most beautiful arrangement I have ever received. My mother had a special request that it include ornamental kale - no other florist could or was willing to track it down but Verbena. They were able to locate a gorgeous "bloom" of kale and incorporated it with pale orange roses, green coffee beans, blue delphinium, and delicate pink flowers. It was unique, creative and seasonally appropriate. My mother was impressed with their customer service and follow through and I was equally impressed with the final product. As a professional photographer, I highly recommend all of my brides to these gals. I've also been using them for my personal gifts to family, and especially my wife, for many years. They also knew the flowers were a gift for a friend's cancer surgery. They have no accountability or compassion. If you're spending serious money on flowers for a special occasion, I'd strongly caution against ordering here. What you see is not what you get. 1st image is what was delivered, 2nd image is what I thought I was purchasing.

For the quality of their flowers, that was a very good price. I will pop back by tomorrow to pick the freshest ones before my visit. My mother is no longer living. During Mother's Day I try to remember other mothers because to have your mom is such a huge blessing. The senior ladies at Atria are like an extension of my own family. When you do thoughtful for things for them, they just light up, which is heartwarming.

We paid over $12,000 for floral services that were carefully planned, confirmed in writing, and fully paid for, yet many elements including our bridal bouquet, floral arch, aisle arrangements, chandelier installations, sweetheart table, and welcome display were incomplete, incorrect, or substituted without our approval. The colors, fullness, and overall design did not match what we had meticulously planned, which caused emotional distress and impacted the enjoyment and photos of our wedding day. When we attempted to respectfully address these concerns in writing, Kimberly's responses were unprofessional and included personal insults. She made inaccurate claims, misrepresented prior conversations, shifted blame onto us, and accused us of acting in bad faith. Her staff offered no assistance to correct the problems, leaving us with no resolution and further demonstrating a lack of accountability. These interactions were stressful, hurtful, and completely inappropriate for a professional vendor relationship. It is clear from our experience that Lemon Leaf Florist prioritizes protecting their reputation and profit over delivering the services promised to clients and is not skilled at executing the detailed work required for weddings. Even if initial interactions seem friendly and accommodating, potential clients should be cautious: you may encounter incomplete or incorrect services, lack of attention to detail, insults, and unhelpful responses when issues arise.
