I ordered one small and one medium arrangement from Debra/Sweetpeas two days ago and I am very happy with my choice! I filled out the online form and Debra called me the next day. She was upfront about the cost - which was EXTREMELY reasonable compared to corporate "flowers.com" types - and she confirmed my max price. I let Debra use her expertise on what flowers to choose, with my only request being that the arrangement be colorful. And man did she deliver! Both on the appearance of the arrangements AND with how she physically delivered them to my friends' doorstep. I was informed of every step of the way and got a text when they arrived which included photos of the arrangement. With Mother's day coming up, you cannot go wrong with Debra and her craft. Holy cow. Debra crafted the bouquet of my dreams for my Halloween elopement!! I sent her a few reference photos of dried, witchy looking bouquets that I admired and she ran with it. I suggested dried butterflies and she delivered on that too! I can't wait to keep this on my mantle forever. Yeah, it's delicate as hell, but she really arranged it securely and beautifully - and in a very cool vintage brass holder no less! read more

How did I ever get so lucky to find Debra and snag her as my florist for my wedding? Where do I even begin to describe the awesomeness that is Debra and D. Sweet Pea Floral? I'm still overwhelmed with gratitude to Debra and her team and all that they did to make my wedding day flowers absolutely perfect. Debra's taste level and creative influence were absolutely perfect and right on par for the earthy, rustic, greenery heaven feel I was going for. I showed her exactly what I was wanting in terms of look and feel, but left the specific flowers up to her judgement, and we agreed she could make decisions based on the market at the time, so she could get the best volume of the biggest and prettiest flowers available when she was ordering for my wedding. The outcome? She nailed it. The flowers were absolute perfection and even prettier than I imagined-- I know that sounds cliche but it is the truth! I planned my wedding from Houston, and Debra and I only met once in person for a walk through at my venue (Vista on Seward Hill) and honestly that was all we needed. Everything else was communicated and taken care of via email which is always my preference. She even let us pay with credit card which is a big bonus (points!) and one less vendor check to have to worry about. I had my set budget and original "wish list" I created and sent out to probably about 20 local Austin florists. I would say about five came back to me saying they could actually do everything on my list and keep within my budget, Debra being one of them. She was so easy to work with, and just the most genuinely sweet person you will ever meet. Having her positive spirit a part of my planning process and my wedding day was just the icing on the cake. I am happy with all of the vendors I choose for my wedding and if I had it to do over, I would likely do everything the same. But I have to say, of all the choices I had and decisions I had to make for my wedding, I can say without a doubt that choosing Debra as my florist was the best one I made. read more

I have had the pleasure of working with Debra and her team in several different capacities over the years. D.Sweetpea's was my go-to florist when I was an Event Planner at Whole Foods Market, she has hosted a "flower power party" as part of my friend's baby shower, she has created a beyond gorgeous custom purple memorial arrangement for my best friend AND she handled all of my wedding flowers this past October! Deb could not possibly be any sweeter, her prices are incredibly reasonable and she takes such special care of her clients. She will do anything to make a vision happen. I can't wait to post some photos of her work from my wedding once I get them back! #Perfection :) read more

GO TO DEBRA! I found Debra through Yelp and thought I would give her a try for my wedding flowers. I had shopped around... but no one made me feel as special as she did. She brought out flowers and showed me different ideas and made me feel so comfortable that I was sold by the end of the conversation. She was in constant communication with me and even suggested I got to a different place for less expensive rose petals. You don't find that type of person just anywhere. My flowers turned out perfect. Even better than expected. If you want personal service and someone who honestly cares about your event and what you want... Debra is the one for you. read more

I have to chime in on the Debra love-fest that is happening in these reviews and just say that this lady has the passion, talent and generous spirit that makes doing business an absolute pleasure! I worked in the floral biz for several years- long enough to know that finding someone you trust for a big occasion, who is also affordable AND someone you could see yourself hanging out with, is a rarity. Debra did such a lovely job on my wedding flowers! She came highly recommended by a good friend who used Debra for her wedding. I hardly know a thing about flowers, so I didn't give her much guidance. I printed out some pictures that I liked online and gave Debra some basic ideas as to what colors I wanted, but I basically told her to just make something pretty that involved purple. She worked her magic and did such a great job. The flowers were a beautiful combination of pink, purple, and white with lots of greenery, perfect for spring time, and I got several compliments about how beautiful the bouquets were. I was very pleasantly surprised that the bouquets had a pastel look--not something I had expected, but I'm glad I gave her free range, because they were stunning. We asked her to put some flowers on every other aisle seat, and I basically gave her free range for that as well. They turned out great! I was worried they wouldn't be very noticeable, but they were nice and bold. We also had two large arrangements on either side of the altar, which were gorgeous. The only thing I wasn't 100% happy about is that the groom's boutonniere was a little scrawny, but the rose boutonnieres for all of the groomsmen and fathers were perfect. She also picked out some great flowers for the cake that matched it beatifully. Debra is so sweet, creative, and easy to work with. Rather than trying to get us to spend more money, she helped us come up with ways to save money, like re-using bridesmaid bouquets for some of the centerpieces. I strongly recommend her! read more

I found D.Sweetpea's on Yelp when I was searching for florists in Austin to send flowers to my brother for his birthday. I ordered a bouquet to be delivered recently, and was stunned and thrilled by how gorgeous it was! Debra went above and beyond to create a true work of art, and to have it delivered to my door with a sweet smile, was just a joy. I like to give flowers for birthdays and special occasions often, and I will absolutely be ordering from D Sweetpeas again! Also, I must admit that I'm something of a flower-snob, and that all too often, I find most arrangements to be boring and common. Hardly ever do I find someone with a floral sensibility that I can really get into - I feel like with Debra, I've found the Holy Grail! She used such interesting and beautiful flowers for my bouquet - peonies, dianthus, scabiosa and purple kale! Such creativity and real sweetness here! Thank you Debra! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Debra for my wedding, the flowers turned out very beautiful, excellent pricing and service. We met up at a coffee shop to discuss the flower ideas, she had a ton of flower books to help me decide. She was very pleased to know I wanted mainly white roses and hint of blue in there somehow. She really got to be creative and have a fun time making it. When she arrived on the wedding day she was early like a professional, had beautiful vases for my bouquets and was very helpful. I also had the pleasure of having Debra be my wedding officiator as well. It's such a huge relief and convenience when your wedding officiator is also your florist. She made me tear up when talking and expressing about love and the many different meanings of it. Me and my husband were both nervous and emotions came over us, she laughed with us and really made us feel comfortable and in an environment of love and celebration. Her face was priceless when we got to kiss, she was smiling and genuinely happy to her job, I can't thank her enough for everything she did for me as a young newlywed, and I can't wait to recommend her to many of my friends as well. Thanks again Debra, much love and appreciation. The Hart's read more

Debra did a magnificent job bringing my wedding flower vision to life! We found Debra after talking with many other designers. She is incredibly personable and easy to communicate with. That wasn't the case with others we talked with who were rushed and tended to impose their ideas on us. She worked within our budget and took her time to suggest and SHOW us different flowers and arrangements. She was able to bring together flowers that looked like a natural bouquet of wild flowers with the perfect balance of colors. We are so glad we found her! She brought the warmth we wanted to our celebration. read more

I just wanted to emphasize how incredibly beautiful my wedding at the Mercury Hall in Austin turned out to be thanks to D. Sweet Pea's! I knew from my first meeting with Debra that she was going to go above and beyond to achieve the dream I had for my pale, soft ballet pink themed wedding. She knew SO MUCH about flowers that she was able to help me pick unique arrangements that absolutely stood out and made my wedding extra special. What more can we say, Debra (DSweetPeas) was amazing. We hired her to do all the floral arrangements, bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres for our wedding in March. Compared to other florists in the area, her prices were extremely reasonable. We first met Debra at Ben White Florist. While we had definite ideas for what we wanted, we weren't sure exactly how to communicate the style, and Debra helped guide us through the process with ease. When our wedding day came, we were floored. Delivery and set-up happened exactly as we'd arranged with no surprises. All the flowers were just as we'd imagined (probably even better) and creatively arranged! For context, we had a more casual floral style with bright colors and natural arrangements. We truly felt like we got an unbelievable value and a final product that our guests raved about. Debra even took extra time to come back the next morning and pick-up some of the displays that we had only rented from her. We recommend her services without hesitation. read more

Debra is awesome. I hired her as a florist for my wedding and holy moly, she did an amazing job and was truly wonderful to work with. She listened to what I wanted and made it work for my budget, and the results....wow, the results. The flowers were GORGEOUS. More than I could have hoped for! And the fact that Debra was so easy to work with, cared so much about what I wanted, and communicated so clearly and quickly! An amazing experience all around. Debra is nothing short of amazing! Just from having a consultation from her, I know this. I met with Debra to figure out the situation for my wedding florals. She was so helpful! She asked me many questions about what I was looking for, and she really listened. She made wonderful suggestions, things that were gorgeous and within my budget! I especially loved that she really explained things to me - I mean, I'm not a florist, that's why I need one to help me. She had pictures of her own arrangements as well as magazines/books that showed me different kinds of flowers and what colors they came in and their price range, if she could get them locally, everything! Other florists just threw out flower names like I knew exactly what they were talking about. On top of all of this, Debra is just a super sweet and adorable person. I instantly liked her upon our meeting. You definitely would be in good hands with this lovely lady. :) read more

I often feel so taken advantage of by florists I find online. Hidden charges and always trying to *up* the sale, etc. I was THRILLED to work with Debra at Dsweetpeas. I told her the colors, the sort of thing I wanted, and the price I wanted to end up at, including everything. She met my expectation in every way. And my honoree, who received the flowers, was absolutely THRILLED, too. Don't think you can go wrong with Dsweetpeas! read more

I was horrified when I went to a Bridal event in Austin for wedding only to find out floral design services were charging $5000-$10,000 MINIMUM for their services. I almost cried myself to sleep thinking I was not going to be able to afford the floral pieces I envisioned for my wedding. Miraculously, I ran into DSweetPeas online and set up a consult immediately with Debra. She was detail oriented (just like me!) and really put my interests and vision as her client ahead of her own. On my wedding day, she set up everything so I (nor my family) had to do the work. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by my wedding flowers!!! It was incredible and MORE beautiful than what I had envisioned. I was brought to tears by her work, I can't tell you how GORGEOUS and PERFECT everything was (and I am a VERY picky bride!) - my bouquet, the altar, the centerpiece on the buffet....her work is unbelievable. My guests were BLOWN AWAY as well!! On top of it all, she was EXTREMELY affordable. I will recommend her to all my friends for their floral needs and she will have my business for life. I fell in love with her work and her fantastic personality. Thank you Debra!! I am forever grateful for your incredible talent. - One happy bride :) read more

Amazing! Super friendly and knowledgeable. Spent the weekend in Austin with 5 others and did a flower arrangement class at our house one afternoon. Debra's flower power class was a highlight. Thanks again! read more

I took a private floral design class with Debra and it was a great experience. Debra showed up prepared with everything we needed, she was organized, professional, and generally just a lovely person to learn from and spend some time with. In preparation for the class, we exchanged a few introductory emails, it was clear that she planned the class around my experience based on the information I had given her. She was also very flexible with my schedule and understanding when I had to change things around. During the class, I learned about the elements of floral design, flower care and worked next to her to create an amazing arrangement. Before taking the class I had little knowledge about flowers and was surprised with how lovely the arrangement was that I created. Debra even left me with pre-prepared learning materials so I could continue creating after the class. I would highly recommend taking one of her private classes. It was a ton of fun and something I had never done before! read more
