My husband and I had a lovely lunch at Glenora on a sunny, fall afternoon! Wonderful, friendly service and the food was unexpectedly delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was cool, but we chose to sit on the deck to take in the incredible view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was accommodating when we asked to start one of the patio heaters for us. We started with two glasses of sparkling - one blanc de blanc and one brut. We enjoyed both, they were very well-balanced. We then ordered the Squash Pumpkin soup and the Chicken Pot Pie. The soup was hearty, well-seasoned, and full of fall flavors. The pot pie came in a crock and was topped with a flaky, buttery crust, reminiscent of a french croissant. The pot pie filling was perfectly seasoned and had large pieces of chicken and potato (all tasted home-made - no can of cream of chicken soup in here!) The crock sat on a serving board and had a salad alongside - beautiful presentation! Overall, our experience was top-notch and can't wait to go back and try more menu items! read more

Great first time experience! The views from our table were amazing outside. You can see Seneca lake and the vineyard from our table. The food had great presentation very well thought out and put together. Filet mignon was delicious. The tofu was lightly breaded and fried with a spice to it. Overall very good dinner. It's such a nice surprise to find amazing vegan food at a non-vegan restaurant. I've been to Veraisons restaurant twice now, primarily because they have vegan options for me and non-vegan options for my fiance. It's a little pricey, but we've never been disappointed with any of our choices. On our most recent visit, there was a wedding going on, so we were served in a private room below the restaurant. That caused our server to be less attentive than we would have liked, but the great food made up for that. We started with the vegan "ricotta" bake. Wow! What a great cheese alternative. We also had the watermelon spring roll. It was unique, but not my favorite. The real standout for me was my seitan meal. It's very hard to make good seitan, in my opinion, but Veraison's does it right. It had a great taste and texture and was a sizeable portion. It was thinly sliced and not just a hunk of wheat meat, like I'd expected. It was served with green beans (not my favorite) and smashed potatoes that were incredibly good. We wanted to try out a vegan dessert, so we ordered the blueberry cheesecake. The texture was a little off, but it tasted great. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Veraisons again if I ever happen to be in the Finger Lakes region. Very pleasantly surprised by this little gem at the Glenora winery. We opted for the pub menu. My husband had the mushrooms and Swiss burger cooked to perfection with a heaping pile of fries. I had the Caesar Salad lightly dressed (and it came exactly as requested) with chicken. The dressing was perfect and was a true from scratch dressing with wonderful anchovy flavor. I have been going to the restaurant every year for the past 8 years when we visit Seneca Lake. The grounds are beautiful, and they have a nice deck for sitting outside. But I have been finding over the years that their quality seems to be declining. They always have a nice, warm bread basket. The dips are a nice tough as well. I wasn't very hungry, so ordered a salad and their beef empanadas. Wow-- SO LACKLUSTER! It literally was 2 overfried empanadas -- AND THATS IT. No dressing-- no sauce-- no greenery! And DRY inside. I am not sure why I didn't send it back. Perhaps it was because we had been driving for hours and I just wasn't thinking-- I'm sure they would have done something about it. But still-- what good chef sends out an undressed plate. For the money paid, I shouldn't have even had to ask. That's the disappointing part... Their service is very good. Maybe we are getting them on a new chef. I don't know. There are not many fancy places to eat in Seneca, so perhaps when ordering items, ask how it is played before ordering. read more

This is our third time here. It is my favorite vegan friendly restaurant in the area. The vegan food is creative, beautiful and delicious. My mom-vegan husband even raves about the vegan choices, although he has some pretty amazing choices too. The staff is excellent and the view of the vineyards and lake breathtaking! We enjoyed a great dinner here during our stay at glenora inn and winery. The steak and potato deal for 18 dollars turned out to be extremely delicious, so this is great for anyone looking for cheaper options. The caeser salad and eggplant parmesan were also delicious. Overall, the food, environment, and staff were perfect. The only reason I didn't give five starts is because they charged a very high (10$) corking fee for our wine bottle because it wasn't one of their company's wine. We still paid this fee because we already brought the wine of course! But being that this restaurant is on the Seneca lake wine trail, I think ten dollars was a bit high of a corking fee for. Otherwise this is a great stop for lunch or dinner on the wine trail! read more

I really don't like to leave bad reviews- but this was pretty bad. On the positive- the staff is very friendly. The ambiance is very nice and the view from the deck was beautiful. Unfortunately the food was terrible. The lobster bisque was lumpy and to the point of being gelatinous. I would bet the roux was burned as well. The lobster was still frozen in the middle. I never ever send food back but I just couldn't eat it. The waitress was so kind and comped it. The "half roast chicken" was a leg and a wing fried beyond recognition and extremely dry. I felt like I was eating the turkey on national lampoons Christmas vacation. The Mac and cheese tasted like flour and was cold. I was so bummed because it looks like a beautiful restaurant and the staff was really nice, but the food was just not good. read more

So being the reckless 22 year olds that we are, my friend and I stopped at 5 wine tastings on our way down to Watkins Glen state park ON AN EMPTY STOMACH- Not one of our more intelligent ideas but you get the point. After searching 20 miles for a decent place to eat we stumbled upon this fantastic place- which is part of Glenora winery- (win,win)! This restaurant has fabulous views, an outdoor deck, and even more fabulous food & wine. I had turkey with cheese & caramelized onions on a croissant and it was to die for. Try to Riesling wine, super delicious! At $7.50 a glass, it's cheaper to buy the whole bottle. This is a great stop! read more

First off, I LOVED the yuca fries. Would definitely order again. They were cooked perfectly and came with a good garlic sauce. However that was the only thing I liked. I got the turkey sandwich and the turkey was extremely dry. The sandwich didn't really have anything on it to help with this, but towards the middle was a TON of pumpkin that helped with the dryness but was a little odd flavor. The sandwich did have a good flavorful cheese on it that I enjoyed. The presentation of the food was nice, just wished the turkey sandwich was better. The staff was nice, but average service. Our server, Mimi, was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, attentive, and guided our choices very well. I really dislike leaving bad reviews but all 18 of us girls who attending lunch at this venue were SUPER disappointed and turned off especially with the service! What was supposed to be an awesome lunch turned into a horrible experience.. the lady refused to take our drink order first which is strange but when she finally left to put our lunch orders in she never came back for the drink order so we approached her.. she dropped off the bottles and walked away without pouring them for us and then one of the bottles had something nasty in it, she looked at us with disgust and said she will send a new bottle over which would have been nice for her to comp but NOPE... lastly our cheese board which is normally something easy to make was the last to arrive even after our cooked food arrived and when we asked about it the waiter goes oh its been ready and sitting in the back! Awesome and well done... Now onto the food overall everyone enjoyed there meals EXCEPT the calamari noodle bowl was basically a SALT bowl so stay away from that! Went hiking at Watkins Glen Park and was recommended to try this restaurant for lunch. The ambience was amazing, we'r day ot on the deck overlooking the vineyard. We had the cajun chicken soup, cheese sampler for two, Cuban panini, Reuben sandwich, and coffee/walnut cake. The food presentation was artistically done. Ok. I should start off by saying that I arrived expecting to not like the wine (it's a hotel/restaurant/winery) based on many reviews and other comments. Guess what? I liked the wine! The food was also quite good too. While it lacks the total detail and sophistication of a place to be found closer to a big city, Veraisons is a great place to dine while in the finger lakes region. The place was totally dead. We were the last ones out at 8:30 PM. Who cares? It was like having a winery to yourself - we ate outside and it was lovely. Service was meh, but forgivable because of that country charm. We started off with the cheese plate for two, all were local cheeses. The Camembert, goat cheese and sharp cheddar were delicious. The plate was served with local grapes (it's harvest time), which was a lovely touch. This was served with their 2010 chardonnay. Next we had the special of the day, stuffed calamari with beef, rosemary and oregano. I was expecting the calamari to be rubbery, but again, I was happily surprised - perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious. This was served with the 2010 dry riesling which I was not too keen on, but still the dish was very good. For the main course I had the lamb kebabs (again, local fare). Lamb was a little over-cooked, but otherwise was very tasty with some rice, grilled veggies and mint sauce. It paired GREAT with their 2009 Syrah. My better half liked his pairing better, but I love syrah and while on the lighter side, this was perfect with the lamb since it was local and so tender and mild - no need to fight the normally stronger lamb taste. The BF had the ribeye steak, which came with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies (again, local!!!) His pairing was the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. Delicious. We both left too full to eat dessert, and very happy. We'll be coming back to pick up some of these wines on our way out. Here's to being happily disappointed! Definitely recommend. All in all, a bit inconsistent would describe our experience. The location is lovely, with the outdoor deck definitely the place to be. We enjoyed a few glasses of their white wine with our meal. The cauliflower appetizer was interesting but could have been grilled more to lose that raw crunch. The jerk chicken special was excellent - chicken well cooked with a tasty jerk sauce. The other special, shrimp wrapped in prosciutto on passion fruit purée, was terrible. It was as if shrimp cocktail had been wrapped in prosciutto and slightly cooked to render the prosciutto. The shrimp was still exceptionally cold. Salads were good but swimming in dressing. There are better choices in the surrounding area ... read more

Service was good, setting is beautiful.. we stole that meal! If you came in for a full dinner you could probably spend some pretty serious money here, but I'd be confident that you'd get a product commensurate with the price. read more

I wish there was a place like this in CLT NC abc I would eat here every week/weekend. It is definitely a $$$, at least price wise, not necessarily the atomosphere or quality of food. Yelp needs to edit this. The really big downfall - little gnats were flying around during entire meal. One landed in my husband's beer. So gross. These gnats were also present at our Gelnora wine tasting (building in front of the restaurant). I was itching the whole time just thinking about them. Management really needs to do something about this. While being served during our wine tasting, even the server was swatting away the gnats. Like come on. Had a very pleasant evening dining here. After a long day visiting state parks and wineries, eating here was definitely one of the highlights of our day. We ordered ham croquettes and the mushroom tart to start, the kids shared a burger, I had the bourbon grilled chicken sandwich, and the wife had a tomato arugula salad with ricotta. The food was good, but not fabulous, but the real reason you want to eat here is to sit outside and enjoy the view of the vineyard and the lake. Service was very attentive and major points for doing a thorough cleaning of the table before being seated. Prices are super reasonable although we didn't get the pricier entrees on the menu. The Caesar salad was by far the worst part of the meal. The dressing was bitter I think.... just wasn't good. It wasn't the worst salad I've ever had either though. Both the chicken and the pork I believe is local and both dishes were cooked well. The desert was our favorite part of the meal.
