We don't have a lot of money so eating at an expensive restaurant rarely happens for my wife and I. We really break the bank eating at a place like this but we do it once in a blue moon to treat the people we love to a "great experience". Yes, the views are stunning but for $150 you'd expect your meal to be pretty much perfect. We made reservations ahead of time like the sign inside the restaurant so strongly suggests. When we arrived, the couple in front of us, which did not have reservations asked for outdoor seating and were given the last table outside. We had to settle for a bar top in the far corner of the outside patio. There goes that stunning view! Disappointing but we could deal with that since we were still outside. Our starters and glass of wine came in a relatively timely manner and were decent. After that we waited for 75 minutes for our entree!! Our server came back maybe twice during that long wait just to say that the kitchen was backed up. The restaurant wasn't even full! On top of that she never even offered to refill our wine glasses! When the food finally arrived, a TINY piece of filet was put in front of me on the saltiest mashed potatoes I've ever had. Oh, we finally got another drink at that point. The best part about the night was the bread and the guy that refilled our water glasses. Everything else was horrible. I'm ashamed at myself for even sticking it out and paying an absurd amount of money for such a horrible experience. We should have walked out. read more

We left after reading the menu, the place was very nice but the menu very limited. No italian choice and one seafood choice (salmon) Lots of trendy vegan foods and very few meals to choose from. Very disappointing. read more

We arrived on a weekday evening around 6:45, checked in at the Inn, then thought we'd make a 7:15 dinner reservation at the adjoining restaurant. We found the restaurant was practically empty, but the less-than-friendly hostess informed us that nothing was available at 7:15, as there were lots of 7:00 reservations. She suggested 7:30 instead. When we came back at 7:30, the restaurant was just as empty and hostess nowhere in sight. When we were finally seated, we found the food good, and the wait staff pleasant, but unprofessional. it is a beautiful setting, but the whole experience left a bad taste. Our checkin and checkout experience at the Inn's front desk were similar. It felt like we were interrupting something very important. We won't be back. read more

At fine dining prices, neither the food nor the service were worth it. Our waitress was friendly, but unskilled: reached across the table to serve and pour, ordered the wrong soups for two people in the party and never did get the check right. (We ended up reimbursing each other.) The rolls reminded me of the "Parker House" rolls my mother used to buy in the 50s at the A&P. My ravioli with squash and ricotta had only a brief acquaintance with the stated ingredients. The portion was so small that I had dessert, the bourbon pudding which was delicious! We went here for breakfast and left thinking, "how do you mess up breakfast?" The potatoes and bacon in the farmers omelette were undercooked. The smoked salmon and goat cheese omelette had a TON of salmon it, which is either good or bad depending on your taste (bad in this case). read more

Atmosphere and view of the lake is great. Food was unremarkable, except for the beef empanadas, which were delicious. The cheese platter had local cheeses which was great to try a little bit of everything. Duck was okay, cooked more on the rare side of medium rare. read more

Expensive but worth it. This was the first time that I have eaten in a restaurant with an edvertised Chef and Sous Chef so my "expensive" should be kept in this context. You do get what you pay for. I had the Moulard Duck and my husband my husband had the special Kobe Beef with potatoes and green beans. Both dishes offer some interesting and delicious taste sensations. I highly recommend eating outside. Service was outstanding and the best that that I have had in any restaurant ever. I am horrible with names but I think our Waiter's name was Kyle and Asst. Waiter was Amanda. Kyle was very informative and knowledgeable about the menu/wine pairings. Both Kyle and Amanda were very attentive without being intrusive.Both Kyle and Amanda were relaxed and comfortable while keeping a professional yet friendly attitude. I would love to eat here again and would request both Kyle and Amanda as Servers. Over the top food, service, and atmosphere. read more

Excellent food and service. Staff did their best to accommodate in spite of some challenges = there was a large wedding that occupied most of the restaurant, including the terrace/patio. Had we known about the wedding in advance we may have selected a different day - just to avoid issues that come with trying to serve multiple groups. I'm not sure where to start- other than to say we had high expectations as we were treating my parents to dinner to thank them for such a nice week long getaway to the Finger Lakes. My husband, parents and brother and I are all foodies. But- food alone will not sell us, we are pretty particular about service and ambiance. Veraisons has it all. I was shocked to see the average review was anything below 5 stars. My mom and I are vegetarians- we were immediately offered a special vegetarian menu that had been prepared for a larger private party. The entire table agreed the two vegetarian dishes were by far the most incredible vegetarian (and gluten free by the way) dishes we had ever tasted (and I lived in LA for several years where there are a plethora of gourmet vegetarian options). My brother ordered the duck and my husband the fish-- both commented on the unique preparation and tastes. My Dad ate the ravioli and said it was some of the best he has ever had. Our waitress was always there (but not in an annoying way) to refill waters, get drinks, etc. The service was impeccable. However, the scene from the large back patio was amazing. We all stated throughout the meal how delicious everything was and how beautiful the scenery was. We will absolutely be returning to this restaurant. Ate lunch here on Sunday April 30th and was not very impressed. Overpriced for very little food. My son and I had the Fish Tacos. When they came to the table they were 3 small scallop tacos ( which was fine with me because I read the menu), silver dollar size thin, hard gluten free type tortilla. The coleslaw and carrots that came on it were very sour. No sides at all for $14 a piece. My husband had a burger which did come with fries and he said it was good but nothing special. He asked for BBQ Sauce because he hates ketchup and the waitress said that they don't have it ( what!!! A restaurant that doesn't have something other than ketchup for your burger and fries...really). My other son had the Cuban sandwich which was decent but not the greatest he has had. The only other food/ drink we had was one bowl of soup and one coffee and the bill came to $81. Needless to say we would not go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more
