I've tried looking up a couple of items online and the price is what it is regardless of where you look. The clothing and shoes are cute, and geared towards the early 20s-30s crowd. I like the feel of the shop- bright and set up in a way that you can see everything without having to dig around. The employees have always been welcoming when I've come in to look around.

Awesome hand lotions, hair perfumes, Turkish towels (I got a great grape [okay, just plain purple] and pink one that's got teal on the other side -- just beautiful and so soft, ooh, what luxury! Turkish towels are awesome because they take up less space and dry far more quickly than other, thicker towels, so of course they end up both smelling much better and being a lot more hygienic. The orange-scented hand lotion is super-luxe, too, with a rich creamy feel and excellent scent. I got the amber hair perfume. The rugs are really nice, with just enough texture balanced together with softness and sturdiness all together in one piece -- and there is an amazing selection of different colours of these area rugs available, all rolled up nicely in a cool basket. Speaking of baskets, they've got them! The baskets have a real beachy vibe and would be perfect for a day (or a week, or more!) at the beach. They're real sturdy and stand up well on their own, unlike some other floppier baskets or of course beach bags out there .... The baskets are also really good for shopping, too. There are cookbooks, fun cooking and cleaning supplies such as the never-before-seen-by-me ravioli-shaped sponges and oh-so-many things to explore, I wouldn't want to ruin it for you by telling you more! The person I encountered was super-helpful, friendly, nice, accommodating, etc. The parking is plentiful (At least it was when I was there.), and if you like pretty, flowery things, there is also a lovely gardening center just steps away ... plus lots of other stuff nearby to explore in Kensington! Very glad I stopped by! Only thing is: it's closed on Mondays. Oh, and I love the name, too! Olive & Loom -- even the name has texture and beauty in it .... A very 'Yay' type of find, indeed! I fell in LOVE with their Markus Lupfer collection (especially that Pressed Flower Stripe Sweatshirt) - I am probably not going to be able to sleep tonight and just obsess on them until I am able to get my hands on a few when my size becomes available :O The SA was friendly and offered any assistance that was needed. The store itself is small, but it has a nice variety of brands and interesting pieces. There's also a sales section in the back where it's an additional 50% off. Then, I looked at the price tag and "Bam!", reality struck! As cute as they are, be prepared to pay a premium for these shoes. There were beautiful and unique pieces of clothing. Designer, Marc Jacobs and Markus Lupfer were my favorites. I took a picture of a fox dress for our own N. Virginia director, Gretchen Fox. So, you can see this is truly a specialty store. Icing on the cake, they feature fabulous, unique jewelry made in Europe that perfectly complements their collections. And that's rare enough for a clothing boutique to deserve to be acknowledged.

There were plenty of salespeople to wait on customers and help them find items they were interested in. They had some beautiful sweaters, cute jeans, and well dressed manikins to give you style ideas. The store was well organized and had one side of the store for men's clothing and the other for women's clothing. I made a mental note to go back and try on some of the cute, high quality clothing.
