I walked in to get a fill like I usually do. I planned on also getting their deluxe pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. The door was locked and the young lady had to open the door for me. no problem. The issue came when she then, loudly, told me to 'GO PICK A COLOR' I told her that I don't need to pick a color and that I already know what I'd like. She spoke over me and in an irritated tone told me again to 'GO PICK A COLOR THEYRE ALL OVER THERE' pointing to the wall of nail polish. So I did. I then when to sit at the only open chair, which belonged to the lady that yelled at me. (I didn't sit and wait bc there were no other customers there besides one lady already mid fill) The young lady then rolled her eyes and said 'no no SHE'LL help you' pointing to the obviously busy only other nail tech in the building. My dad's visiting and we always do daddy- daughter salon days together and my normal nail ship does horrible pedicures so I had to venture out and find a shop that may be good with pedi. Came across this place and the pedicure was great. They reside in a small center with a few restaurants, a smokers novelty shop and a barbershop, but there doesn't seem to be any real issues with parking. The shop is following covid procedures, by taking your temperature before you are serviced and require masks. The ladies all wear masks and there are plastic spacers between pedicure chairs and nail stations. We selected the deluxe pedicure that came with hot stones, paraffin wax and a generous leg massage. So many places rush through to do your pedicure in 30 minutes or less but they really took their time with both of us. I personally love pedicures that last about an hour that are worth it and we really enjoyed them. Now, the nails, I wasn't as pleased with for my fill in because she did my fill in while I was in the chair getting my pedicure. I was able to relax but I do wish they had done them separately. I think I'll stick to my normal place for my nails but I will definitely think of this place as a normal spot for my toes. Sucks but sometimes you need 2 places lol! read more

Went to Venus today and I can truly say that I'm impressed. Without a doubt, this is the BEST gel manicure I have ever had! (I've been everywhere in Tacoma/UP!) The woman who did my nails was kind, and clearly very professional. She took her time,and although I do get impatient, I quickly realized that she was taking it seriously and wanted to give me the best service possible. My nails have never ever looked better. I went here about 2 months ago. I called to make an appointment and even asked how much a gel manicure with French tips would cost. The lady told me $30. I came in for my appointment and was greeted nicely but then two of the women started speaking Vietnamese. They were saying how I had called a few days back and even asked for pricing, like it was a bad thing. I understood everything but just kept my mouth shut because I wanted to see if they would say other things. And they did, the two ladies only spoke to each other in Vietnamese and not their customers. I was so impressed by the measures they are taking to keep everyone safe and healthy while getting to relax and feel a little bit of normalcy. I am hyper critical of business in Tacoma because I've always found customer service to be sub par in nearly all establishments whether it was fine dining or good'ol Safeway. In a scurry on Monday I wanted to get my mani pedi done after work, luckily these guys were open late enough for me to get it done. When I had walked in there was two people ahead of me finishing up. I was warmly greeted by BOTH women and after explaining what I wanted I was instructed to pick a color. I showed one of the women what I wanted (picture On my phone from Pinterest post of glitter ombré natural nails), she said they could with confidence. Not too long after was I seated in a chair with feet soaking in hot water and the other girl working on my toes. The chairs are nice. The massage features even the remote seems new and cleaned. The only reason I wouldn't give this a full five stars was caused they reused items that were suppose to be brand new like nails boards pumice stones and such... But besides that they were gentle, kind and weren't pushy or in a rush at all even though I was now their only customer and passed their closing time. I got a full massage on both my hands feet and calves, even a hot stone massage to boot. They stopped to ask me if every nail was to my liking before moving on and at the end helped me to my drying station where there was a heated fan or me to dry my nails at. This part was my favorite because many places only use a fan which is fine except nail polish dries better in heat or hotter temperatures and quickly as well so this was a good finishing touch. I would highly recommend them and if I had to get nails in Tacoma they will be my first choice. read more

It lasted less than 20 minutes and felt so rushed. The shellac manicure isn't even real shellac.. the polish they used was so thin and sheer. I was clearly dissatisfied with the outcome of the application of the polish as well. There's clumping and the polish is on my skin... this photo was taken hours after the manicure was done. There's already chipping! Went up to the register to pay and showed the voucher. The lady said that it wasn't valid. I showed her that it was clearly for Venus Nails. And she kept saying it wasn't for their salon. We were CLEARLY at Venus Nails so I'm not sure why she kept denying that. So I had to pay full price for pedis and a mani that were NOT worth the money. The gal who did my nails worked so fast but didn't skimp on quality at all. My nails turned out great! I loved the extra flower the other gal painted on my toes too...perfect for a vacation in Vegas! I wanted to be pampered and i felt like i was an inconvenience. Was very disappointed. The tech didn't leave the callus remover on for even 30 seconds before haphazardly scrubbing my feet. I am simply appalled by the customer service here. I brought a friend who is recovering from an injury as a treat and it was everything but that. The nail technician put way too many layers on her nails and they clumped up easily. Today we came back and the technician had been incredibly rude. She basically scolded and yelled at my friend, rebuking her for the issue. When my friend mentioned that she typically went to another nail place, the woman said "so why don't you go there?"-what unacceptable behavior!! I really really wanted to like this place! The reviews were great and they took me right away when I walked in. I showed them a picture of what I wanted...a gel or shellac pedicure to withstand the beaches of Hawaii. I chose my colors and they informed me that one of the colors changed colors. I was okay with that or at least I thought I was..I was later talked out of it but not given the option of another gel color. The older lady did a great job with all the callus removal, hot stone massage, paraffin wax dip, and everything...very meticulous. But then the lady who would be painting my nails came over with colors from the regular polish wall. One was not even close to the blue I wanted and I had to have them change it. The lighter color turned out to be more pink than a pearly white which bugs me so much. I told the older lady that no I wanted gel. She said, "oh, she'll do it." But then she started painting my nails with the lighter color. There was another girl getting her nails done with a bratty disrespectful teenager and so I didn't feel like being rude and was just too timid to speak up. There was also the language barrier. She did my nails and all I kept thinking was...this is not going to withstand my trip to Hawaii this week!! I wasn't satisfied with the final product and I felt like I wasted $35. The paint job she did wasn't even that good upon further inspection...the jewels aren't symmetrical and the sponging wasn't even done to the edge of my nail. They advertise that they do shellac and they do not. This is turning into a theme with salons which I strongly dislike because I want shellac and not gel (yes, they are different). But my nails desperately needed to be done and this was down the street so I figured if they didn't actually do shellac it was better to have gel than nothing. I walked in and was able to sit down immediately; it was clean and the girl that greeted me (I can't spell her name I'm sure, but it sounded like ga-tee) was very pleasant. She did a pretty good job, although she didn't do gel quite right; didn't seal the edge of the exposed nail and I ended up with a couple little bubbles that popped leaving tiny pinprick chips, but they're hardly noticeable I am still on the hunt for a nail place in the area that actually does shellac, but this is the most pleasant atmosphere I have found thus far and if the worst part is nearly invisible chips I would happily go here over any other place. And it was only $30 for french tip gel, which is a very good price, and they didn't charge me for removing the previous gel polish. read more
