Wonderful experience today. I used to go to Oscar Nails often, and hadn't been back in a long time. Ivy did my nails, and Thuy did my pedicure and both were amazing and I will be going back for them. I got builder gel with chrome top on my nails, and the deluxe pedicure with gel and chrome top as well. It totaled to $150 which adds up to me (with the gel & chrome additions). They helped me right away without an appointment. Every one was so sweet. I enjoyed chatting with Ivy and appreciated that she was personable and willing to converse. I walked in and was seen right away, which I really appreciated. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming, and I do want to acknowledge that. That said, I asked for builder gel, and while they said they offered it, what I received was not real builder gel. It was applied just like regular gel polish or shellac, not the structured method with a brush that's typical for true builder gel. When I asked if they did fills (which is standard for builder gel), the tech told me no--they just remove and reapply each time. That confirmed for me this wasn't actual builder gel. I also asked for a French tip and showed a picture, but the tech only glanced quickly and didn't seem interested in the details. I kept asking for the tip to be thinner, but she seemed annoyed, so I ended up settling. The result? A thick, uneven white tip that I honestly could have done better myself. As a mom who never gets her nails done, I was really looking forward to treating myself, and I left super disappointed. My cuticles weren't pushed back, my nails weren't properly shaped (I asked for narrow and they were left wide), and everything felt rushed. While I appreciate the friendliness and how fast they got me in, I won't be returning. If you're looking for real builder gel, this is not the place. have not been to Oscar's for a couple of years. I only get classic manicures. Plain + simple. I made an online appointment with Tuyen. I've always had Tuyen. I arrive on time for my noon appointment. A young man greets me. I tell him I have a noon appointment with Tuyen. He asks me several times who I have an appointment with, as though he doesn't understand what I'm saying. He leads me to a nail station + it appears as though he is going to do my nails. Again, I say I have an appointment with Tuyen. He gets up + looks over to someone nearby, who appears to be a manager. She speaks up + lets me know Tuyen only does pedicures. I say you should indicate that on your website. She calls a lady (Wendy) over to do my nails. I ask Wendy if I could look at the nail color chip samples. She says they are only for gel customers, not for classic manicure customers. I said ok, I want to cancel my appointment. She quickly says ok, ok I get. She brings the nail color sample chips over + I quickly pick a color. She didn't know that I know that for every gel color there is a color match for regular nail polish. She did a good job applying the nail color, but didn't moisturize my hands prior, so my hands were very dry, especially around the cuticles. Too late to say anything with fresh polish on my nails. As she was finishing my nails, I saw Tuyen sit down at a nail station in the next row to do a manicure for a lady! I still tipped 25% to Wendy, even for a poor job. We were getting to leave for Hawaii so we thought we would get our nails done 11/10/24. My mother in law purchased a gift card for $200 for me to use with my daughter so we decided this would be perfect. My daughter, sister and I went in to have our nails done. I told them that my daughter tended to lose her polish after a few days so they recommended the gel. We got our nails done and at the time we paid, they refused our gift card. They said they only handed out certificates but it clearly stated on the receipt the owners name and that it was a mobile order. He said he didn't remember it so it must be a scam. He took pictures of the receipt with the transaction number and said he would look into it and I still have not heard anything back. In addition to that, three days into our trip and the polish completely came off my daughter's toes. No peeling, just completely came off. My polish is starting to come up around the edges on my fingernails but my toes are still good. I won't be back. read more

I didn't appreciate being passed around from one person to another with no explanation. I also didn't appreciate my 2nd lady being irritated when I refused to choose from the choices she gave me- I know there are other colors as I'm a regular here. I showed her the color then after a bit I tossed it back into the pile of choices. She didn't look apparently as she snapped "what number"?! And I politely told her. She repositioned my arm and hand numerous times and didn't ask me to move anything until the end and I did. She was annoyed we can tell thanks as a regular I'm second guessing my choice to come to Oscar nails in the future... my dollars spend anywhere and I expect to be treated politely. This is an update after my visit on 7/28/22 with Anna. I booked an appointment in advance for a regular manicure with Anna, who specifically told me to see her for my nails the last time I was there for my great pedicure with Tram. She said come see me for your nails and I will do a thin layer of dip with gel and itll make your natural nail stronger (because the gel was making them frail and crack easily). Well two weeks ago when I went in for it I asked for her over the phone and when I came in they asked if I could see Hien instead because she was free right now and I said ok because Anna was waiting for another appointment to arrive 10 min later. Hien was very nice and she did powder dip nails for me. She was gentle and did a good job but I didn't like the powder because it was thick and bumpy and made my nails feel plastic-y so it is not my preference. I should have seen Hien again. I arrived checked in for my REGULAR manicure and Anna was with another customer doing a wax but I didn't have to wait long. I told Anna what I wanted. Regular manicure with regular polish. She said no I will do dip for you thin, 1 layer just to make your nail stronger so it won't break. I said ok, but I'll just do regular polish because I don't want to pay for gel I'll just wait for it to dry. I asked about the colors and she said the ones I want they don't have regular for only gel. However , when the nice girl from the front desk sat me down and gave me the nail color pallet she said, all these colors are regular too so just pick from that. Apparently she was wrong. Ok so I got a gel color whatever at least it would dry with No down time. As Anna was working on my nails she burned my cuticles and the skin on the sides of my nails MULTIPLE TIMES. She was aware and said she was sorry. As the "manicure" progressed I was wondering when she was going to soak my fingers in preparation for the cuticle grooming. As she continued to proceed I thought hmm maybe she does the layer of dip before she does the manicure just like how they do the leg and lotion massage after your gel color not before. I didn't know what to expect I ever had a powder dip manicure. (That stands true today) once she started buffing my nails I knew she wasn't giving me a manicure that I booked the appointment for and that the girl at the front desk circled for Anna to know on my intake slip. But I didn't know why. And I still don't know why she didn't give me a manicure. My nail shape and length is completely butchered. My hands do not match and my thumb nail length is basically non existent even though she managed to keep length on my other nails. It's like my thumb does not belong the the same family as the other nails on my hand. I do have to say her dip execution was fine. My nails are not too thick like they were before but even that one layer of dip caused a rift or bump on my nail which you can see making it not smooth. But not as obvious as last time when it was a "true dip" set. Immediately after she did the powder I noticed tons of little bubbles in my nails. I thought maybe when she buffed they with them electric grinder(which again scared me because she was torching my skin with it) they would dissipate. This did not happen. The bubbles also did not go away when she applied the gel color to it. See pics. Even after two coats. So now I have a design of ugly bubbles under a pink sheer color. The worst part was at the end when she said she would not do my nails again because she is too busy. But I booked this appointment and it hasn't even been an hour and you're not even doing the service that I booked?? I felt offended and disrespected and she sealed heheh decision of mine for never returning to this place again where I have been loyal for all of 2022. And I am so sad because I thought I finally found the place to get my nails done regularly. Tram is great for pedicures. Marco and Selene great for manicures but you can't book with them. And I never understood the bad reviews but I have come to the conclusion that all of those patrons must have also seen Anna. Fellow patrons do yourself a favor and listen to the reviews like I should have and steer clear of here. Even if you have some good visits ultimately you will leave disappointed or be told you won't be accepted back as a client. To top it off, I was charged an entire dip cost of $45 for ONE BUBBLY CLEAR LAYER OF DIP when I went in for a $30 standard manicure which I got zero cuticle grooming or lotion massage for. When I saw Hien for a full dip set where she dipped 4-6x between base and color and she gave me tips on 3 broken nails it was $50. I hope none of you can ever have the experience I did today. I made an appt and arrived on time. Techs seemed really surprised to see me and I noticed it was packed. Which is typical for a Saturday. I'm not directed to a chair, just a vague hand wave towards the direction and that's it. I asked for clarification and the worker seemed annoyed and again just waved in the general direction of chairs. I sat for 27 mins and realized there were 5 other ppl ahead of me and that a woman who just walked in was immediately assisted. I finally asked for a towel to dry off my feet so I could leave and then all of sudden it was my turn. The tech I asked for a towel went and instead grabbed another tech. This then happened a second time. I again asked for a towel and said it was okay but I had another appt and needed to go as I couldn't keep waiting. I'm assuming who is the owner responded very rudely: Well these ppl have appts too. That's okay also and I respect those clients time just as mine's should have been respected. But don't overbook and then get an attitude with a potential client when they state they are leaving due to time restraints. There's no need to turn what is a simple situation into a whole production because I've decided I no longer want services due to over booking. Walking into a nail salon doesn't contractually or legally obligate me to receive or stay for services. Came in a few months ago and had an entire bottle of nail polish dropped on me by the receptionist (i think?) and ended up going home with nails that were done very poorly and messily, and a brand new pair of sweats completely ruined by the polish. went again about a week and a half ago and my nails look... terrible... not filed evenly, very thick gel polish buildup, on top of my already very thick acrylic.. used to love coming here (2018-2019) but since it has just gone downhill.. i get in and out within 20 minutes.. but my nails definitely show that.. i went in to get them fixed and was told since it looked like they all need to be fixed, i would just have to start all over and wasn't eligible for a nail fix service.. was super dissatisfied and asked if there was anything they could do.. i.e refund/fix what they did.. i had no luck :(( paid $50 to hate my nails read more

I just moved into the area and wanted to try a new nail salon for a broken nail. My normal nail spa is on meridian almost 35 min away so I thought I would take a risk (big mistake). I wasn't willing to get an actual fill yet until I knew how well they would do with just the broken nail first. At first sight, the spa is beautiful and has ample pedicure chairs. I decided to get a pedi since the nail techs were all busy and I'd have to wait anyway. The first woman who did my pedi actually snipped into my toe and when I jumped she made it seem like it was my fault. So this is already off to a rough start, but accidents do happen and I totally get that. Onto my nails...I told the nail tech (as well as the receptionist when I first went in) that I only wanted a single nail repair and finally opted for a polish change also since they lacked a polish that matched my current. The initial nail tech took over 5 minutes per nail just to file the gel polish from my nails. Almost 20 minutes later and only 3 nails with polish removed, another nail tech took her place. She was definitely faster but in the end that probably wasn't a good thing. Come to find out, the initial nail tech chipped away so much of my acrylic that I had to get a fill after all. I was not happy but the silver lining (or so I thought) was the last nail tech seemed to be a bit better. So let's start by saying the one nail that was broken off that I initially went in for didn't get replaced, instead she added a lump of acrylic to the tip and tried to reshape it. FAIL!She asked if I wanted any length taken off, and I said minimal as I just got them done a week and a half prior. She filed them down so much that they didn't even end up looking like the same set. Even the polish at the end was done sloppy and haphazard, she didn't even polish the tips of the nails. I was so upset I was at a loss for words. I'm a licensed cosmetologist so I get that shit happens but this was crazy. Being in the industry I still left a tip even if nominal, and she had the nerve to ask if I wanted to add more of a tip on my card. I'm seriously at a loss with this place, looks are deceiving. After it was all over and looking at my nails the acrylic is chunky uneven and the lengths are all over the place. I've never had a service so bad that it made me cry. $55 dollars later, today was the day. Never again. Definitely sad and out of money. read more

Okay guys. I HATE to do this, especially because I usually only leave good reviews and try not to dwell on the bad. With that being said, this review needs to be posted. Here it goes: I have been here twice now. The first time I came in without an appointment right when they opened. The lady was awesome and took her time. No issues with the nail dipping I had. However, the second time was terrible. I came in, again, without an appointment. They got me in pretty quickly and I was happy. The lady was nice, but about 5 minutes into doing my nails there were two other walk-ins. The nail artist started going super fast. She literally ripped the skin off around my middle finger to the point that it began to bleed. She proceeded to stop the bleeding with her ungloved finger. Gross. The end result was awful. I considered going elsewhere to get them fixed, but after paying 35$ I decided it wasn't worth it. Now I have nails that look like a child did them. I am so unhappy with the results that I don't believe I will give them another chance even though my first experience was good. I wish they were more consistent. read more

Been here several times over the years and each time it's pretty disappointing. Today I got a full set with gel polish ($55). The staff has always been friendly. I was indecisive about the color, but they were very patient with me and let me try a couple out. My annoyance is more with the lack of attention to detail. As you can see in my pictures, the polish doesn't cover around the entire tip of the nail, Some of the nail tips aren't filed down evenly and having little hunks jutting out, and nothing was done to my hands/fingers (besides putting on hand sanitizer) before hand, so I have gel attached to my cuticles in weird hunks all over the place and can't fix it. I wish I could have at least washed my hands and pushed my cuticles back before hand. It's also super dark inside, so even though they ask you if it looks ok, you don't really know until you've left and gone out in daylight. It feels so rushed. Two gals worked on my nails, and the 2nd one "fixed" a lot and seemed better, but I'd rather just have one person start to finish. Getting my nails done these days is a rare treat, so it's ultra disappointing when it goes so poorly. I want to like this place so much, but today was my last time. read more

I feel like they used to do a really great job with my nails but the last time I went I told the lady what I wanted and she completely did the opposite and got upset when I told her that she's not doing what I asked for and rushed through the process. I'm really not picky at all but I wouldn't recommend this place anymore since it's happened multiple times. I understand that they have other appointments and clients but they should take their time with whoever they have in front of them especially if they are paying and made an appointment ahead of time also. Horrible experience. Did not offer me any beverages, half way through my pedicure they offered new clients coming in wine, I asked them for water and they rolled their eyes and said sure. After my gel dried on my pedicure they put my sandals on, I asked if they were going to put cuticle oil on my toes. (Every time I've ever gotten a manicure or pedicure they've put cuticle oil and lotion on to complete the process) after I asked she said oh you want oil? Then brings the bottle over and pours the oil on my toes while I'm wearing my sandals. Now my sandals are drenched in oil and I've never had an experience like this at a nail salon ever. Staff here was very polite and friendly. Lots of smiles and they took their time on my daughters and my feet! I went here based off a FB neighborhood group recommendation for a place to bring littles. They have two little Bear chairs for kids and my daughter thought it was the best (actually she kept saying it was the best day ever!!). Her first pedicure..she picked rainbows for her color (each nail a color of the rainbow) and covered in gold glitter. She got a kids mani/pedi for $25 and I got an upgraded pedi for $40. Nice decor and I like that they use the plastic liners in their basins. I saw a lot of regulars come in that staff would say hello to while we were there - that's a really good sign! Worst nail salon experience ever . Went in around 5:30pm yesterday and they told me to come back in 20-25mins, I went by the store and came back within 20mins, got sat at 5:55pm. All I wanted was a mani and the front girl told me it shouldn't be too much longer, a guy came by and put foil on my nails to remove my shellac and waited for another 20mins (not to mention my nails are soaking in acetone). Still no nail technician to check on me or anybody to give me the color samples to look through. Finally a girl came to me at 6:27pm asking me what I wanted to do. I had a piece of paper of what service I wanted, like everybody else. I was so irritated and said forget it. I waited almost an hour since I first walked into the shop, just to get my polish taken off? That's not okay. I've gone in and out of other salons within an hour with a full salon manicure and a message. They also charged me for that lack of service. I understand that it gets busy, but 3 additional people got sat after me and they were half way done with their service while nobody came by to check in on me at all. I came in at 9:10 to get a gel pedicure and fullset I did the ice walker pedicure, bomb as hell! The lady was great nice massage and she was kind and tried to make conversation. I got my manicure did by Amanda, she's been there for about 10 years and doing nails for 13 she said. I give a 5 stars because i was in rush to get to school by 11:15 Amanda got to my nails by 10:30 and finished right before 11, she was quick and it turned out wonderful! Just paid $60 for a guy to smear some lotion on my legs, hack up my toes, and ultimately end up angry at myself for coming back 6 months after I swore this place off. They attempted to do both at the same time, so I had to lean WAY forward (negating the purpose of a massage chair entirely) and then try and warn them each time the curing lamp would go sliding down the pillow and onto my drying nails. As I was sitting in the lobby for my nails to dry, I asked the woman across from me if she had a good experience. Turns out she had given up on Oscar Nails as well but they sent her a coupon so she decided (against her better judgement) to give them one more try. I went into today for a full set with chrome nails . If I could give my experience a negative 0 I would . One person started my nails the Selena who was obviously sick without a mask took over . I had to respond to a text because I am an oncology nurse and Selena told me to pay attention . Then as I had my hand laying on the table when the other woman took over Selena physically grabbed me by the wrist ( which now I have a bruise ) . I wanted chrome nails they put the wrong color on and had to restart . At the end of putting the right color on the women put lotion and cuticle oil on one hand but not the other . I checked out and it was 70 dollars ! 15 for the chrome and 55 for a full set!!! Wth . I left and noticed that they left a clump on one nail . I had to return for them to fix it . This place needs a tune-up. The chairs are all wrecked, the nail polish is crusty and old. The length of time given varies wildly from person to person.
