I was not expecting this good! When you travel for work, it's hit or miss, especially for good pizza. As a native New Yorker, I've had it all...greasy post-bar at 4am, Friday night family favorite, brick oven, etc. etc. This is a must-stop if you're in the Goshen area, or anywhere in a 30-mile radius. Chewy crust with just the right amount of char, fresh, FRESH, ingredients, (I had the Margherita DOC and added ricotta). Just delicious. Then I had the tiramisu. I'm not big on desserts, but I am a fan of tiramisu and usually order it if I see it and want the sweet after-Italian-dinner treat. Excellent! Creamy, a little boozy-soaked. Then the service! Jacob, the bartender is sweet and knowledgeable and just enjoyable to talk to. Sit at the bar. You won't regret it! Leaving very happy! read more

This place is really excellent. We happened to drive by the area on our way to Chicago, and the reviews looked promising. It was busy as expected on a weekend night, but we managed to get an outdoor table after a short wait. We got two small pizzas and both were really good, but I have to talk about the fig pizza with walnuts and arugula - it was so, so good and came highly recommended by the server. I'm usually not convinced about sweets with my savories (esp fruity tastes), but this pizza convinced me. Also the service was really good, the ambience was great, really nice little joint. The main downside is the price.. it's definitely expensive, esp for the amount of food you get. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and the quality is evident, but it can still be hard to justify that bill at the end of the dinner. read more

When I entered it seemed a little unorganized and the process of getting seated was not an easy one. But I was told 20 minute wait but ended up being 1.5 minutes. So it ended up fine. I ordered the seasonal salad and a pizza. The salad looked interesting but tasted terrible together, I think the concept was ok but the ingredients were very poor quality. My husband couldn't believe there could be anything good in Goshen... Well, it's changed so much since he was a youngin'! Venturi is definitely worth stopping in for AMAZING food! Don't go with your typical ideas of pizza, think real, refined, classic Italian yumminess. I believe not only is the dough homemade, but the cheese also. The sauce is perfect, and reminds me of my Nona's. The seasonal salad is incredibly fresh and I highly recommend that when on a date, one should get pizza and the other the brushetta. This place is very obscure and walking by I wouldn't have paid any attention to it. Thanks to the fantastic reviews from fellow Yelpers and diners, I made it a point to stop by. The hours are very specific here so be sure to check there website before heading in. I came on a Monday and they were open from 5-8pm. There is also no designated parking lot, but there is a lot right across the street that's free. Upon Entering the ambiance of the restaurant was welcoming. The hostess greeted my friend and I and we were immediately seated. Our waiter Jose was fantastic. From start to finish his service was impeccable. He walked my friend and I through the menu, gave us recommendations and explained the history of the restaurant. This place is one of a small few places in Indiana that has certified Neapolitan pizza. I highly recommend the margherita doc and the prosciutto funghi. I definitely look forward to a return trip to this establishment. read more

Some of the best pizza I've ever had in the US!! My friends and I tried the truffle, Margherita, Neapolitan, and fig. They were delicious! Definitely worth the 45 min drive from South Bend! Additionally, they have a great wine menu and some aperol spritz. read more

I wanted to like this place so bad from the glowing reviews I had heard from friends who reccomended it to me. Drove from Mishawaka to give it a try. We ordered three pizzas, the Fig, the prosciutto mushroom, and Pepperoni. I will have to say the fig pizza was the best of the three as far as the flavor. From there it went downhill fast, I get the "authentic" concept, the edge of the pizzas was the best part, and by that I mean the only part of the crust that was actually cooked. If you like doughy bread with minimal sauce and toppings then this is the place for you. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that they think you can cut your own pizza with a fork and a butter knife, it was so under cooked when I tried to cut my own pizza all of the toppings slid off the crust, this is a fail as far as I am concerned. When I asked the server to have the kitchen cut my pizza she said "we don't do that you can cut the crust with the knife we gave you. The place was freezing cold, you would think with that wood fire pizza oven it would be a little warmer in there, it was extreemly uncomfortable, I almost wanted to eat dinner with my coat on, and by the time I got to the second piece of pizza it was cold. As a parent, you quickly tire of "kid pizza". There's something about being forced to eat cardboard crust, sweet sauce and processed cheese product that will have swearing off of pizza for life. And then there was Venturi! The open concept bar and pizzeria is like nothing I've seen in the area. For starters, there's a full bar, draft beer, and craft cocktails. I went with the coffee stout. They warned me it was a little bitter, but I think it was perfect. The pizzas are Neapolitan. Which must mean delicious because the toppings are far from boring. The pizzas only take about 90 seconds to cook. I went with the Fig- prosciutto, arugula, walnuts, fig jam and Gorgonzola... Sweet, little, infant baby Jesus, it was good! They don't cut the pizzas, so made a bit of a mess, but it was worth it. They have a pretty awesome dessert menu, but there was no question in my mind I was getting the tiramisu. Traditional ingredients constructed a little differently. It comes out in a beautiful dish with dark chocolate shavings. Check out the pics, it's totally worth the calories. The staff was great. I went to Venturi with my dad to try the pizza. I'm so glad we did! It was delicious! He ordered the pepperoni with a sausage spread. I ordered a white pizza with seasonal greens. This is not your typical greasy pizza from Pizza Hut. The dough was soft and baked perfectly. I usually don't eat the crust but I did eat it from this pizza. The seasonings were perfect and with the greens added it was quite savory. I will gladly return! read more

Ok, so I go to school at Notre Dame and my classmates convinced me to drive 40 minutes to Venturi. My classmates said the pizza was "life changing." I wasb very doubtful but I decided to go. We arrived to the restaurant and I knew there would be a wait. There was 12 of us and the restaurant is small and intimate so we decided to order drinks. I loved the bartender. She was very friendly and recommended some great drinks. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes but we didn't mind. The place does not take reservations so be prepared. We finally got a table and the workers were very nice and apologized about the wait. We ordered a bunch of pizzas and appetizers for the table. And yes, the pizza was amazing. We ordered the herbed garlic flatbread and the fig pizza as appetizers. Very good. I was surprised about the pizza fig pizza. Usually not a fan of sweet pizzas but the mix of gorgonzola, prosciutto, and walnuts worked very well together. I ordered the Pizzicato pizza and added the ricotta to the pizza. The additional gave the pizza a boost to an already awesome pizza. The crust of the pizza was probably one of my favorite parts of the pizza. I love when a pizza has a great crust. The crust on this this pizza was very soft and airy in the middle. Some crusts are just way too dense but this pizza crust was perfect. FYI (I saved half the pizza and warmed it up in the oven at home. Still amazeballs) I was doubtful about this pizza being "life-changing" but the pizza was truly incredible. Visited Venturi's on a recent business trip to Goshen, IN, and was delightfully impressed/surprised with the pizza and salad served at this establishment. pizza was authentic naples style with the double-o flour, fresh mozzarella and sauce. my favorites were the margarita and the pesto with ricotta cheese. oh, and the fig pizza was just mouth watering too. Wine was also good, they had Falanghina by the glass, which is one of my goto full bodied whites, again from the Naples(Campania) region of Italy. my only suggestion would be to slice the pizza on request and deepen the menu choices beyond just pizza and salad. maybe grilled veggies too for starters? thanks for a great meal, but is pizza a meal or a snack/appetizer? ;) (kidding) read more

Got to Goshen without having had dinner and turned to YELP for ideas of where to eat. We like to try good local pizza places and Venturi didn't disappoint. The crust was amazing with edges like pillows. Pizzas are served old school, uncut to be eaten with a fork and knife. I had the Margherita DOC and my daughter had Pizzicato. Both were delicious. We shared the Tiramisu which was presented so nicely that it was almost too nice to eat...but we managed. Nice setting. Would recommend. read more

Cannot wait to go back! This was probably the best pizza I've ever had. I'm not exaggerating. I had the Red Pepper pizza. It had roasted red peppers, capers, basil, red pepper flakes, and mozzarella. The house-made mozzarella was so good - it was unreal. The combo was a delicious mix of spicy and salty, savory, and the dough was perfectly done. The individual pizza was large enough that I could walk away with lunch for the next day. The space is beautiful, and the service was good, but really it comes down to the pizza. Bells Amber Ale, Margherita DOC pizza, Panna Cotta Cherry dessert...how can you go wrong?!?! The mozzarella and pizza crust are homemade!!! I'd bet the tomato sauce is too! The pizza was delicious! It looks small but it's big enough for 2! Wood fired to perfection!!! The Panna Cotta Cherries were amazing; creamy and sweet. GET THIS!!! The service...what can I say!!! All the best suggestions, tasters, and on the spot!!! I sat at the bar top since I was alone...but I didn't feel alone or awkward in any way. The joint is quaint and super friendly!!! I loved the pizza bianca and nutella pizza dessert. This place is great for people who love pizza but aren't huge on sauce, as many of the pizzas have zero tomato sauce. The garlic on the bianca was wonderful, and the price wasn't too steep (a pizza serves 1-2 people and runs about $15). If you like your crust thin but chewy, this is your jam. I didn't enjoy the waiter taking my order on a smartphone. It just took away from the experience of eating a gourmet, fire-singed pizza. read more

We really enjoy this establishment. We have had carry out several times, but this was our first dine in experience. Wait times can be long, so it is a good idea to get online and join the waitlist, enjoy downtown and get a text when it's time to be seated! The price of the pie is a not cheap, but I think if you enjoy the best and freshest of ingredients on Pizza styles you won't find anywhere else in the area, you shouldn't mind shelling out a few more dollars. Our Pizza's were excellent. I guess if I had one criticism of the pizza, it would be that I expected a real crispy crust since it was so thin, but again... the pizzas were excellent. For safety sake they probably don't furnish pizza cutters, but those would be nice too! Try it it, you won't be disappointed. read more

Went here with a group of friends as part of our "Pizza Club" (Yes, we're legit.), after a suggestion by one of our colleagues. It's a small venue, and definitely has a "hipster" urban edge vibe. I personally loved it, since it definitely didn't look like your typical eatery in the Midwest. We had a huge group so we had to wait, and there was a constant flow of people entering the Restaurant waiting to be seated. It was a Thursday night around 6:30pm as well, but I can't complain it definitely is a good sign if the place is packed. I went basic and ordered the Pepperoni Pizza, and I will say one thing. This pizza is legit. I am not overly familiar with the specifics, but they seem to be pretty authentic in the Neapolitan pizza. I noticed a certificate that verified that they were trained and certified in the style from Italy. Than again, I can't read Italian - so who knows what the certificate actually said. Pretty much this means the pizza is super thin, and they make fresh mozzarella to put on their pizzas. I love coal/brick oven cooked pizza, so this was a total double thumbs up. The pizza was thin and crispy, and there was an actual crust that was soft and chewy. The pepperonis tasted fresh, and everything melded so well together. Since you're only supposed to cook it for a certain amount of time, the food comes out quick! The pizzas are pretty big for a single size, so I took home some left overs. I actually just ate my left overs, and warmed it up on a toaster oven. The pizza makes great left overs and really re-heats well if warmed up in a toaster oven or normal oven. They had some unique beverage options both alcoholic and non-alcoholic which I have yet to try though. The quick down and dirty to summarize is that if you're looking for a authentic style pizza place, it is totally worth the trip to go to Venturi. I will definitely be coming back again! read more

The pizzas at Venturi look like works of art. But yesterday we didn't have the best experience because we went a little early for dinner - 4:45PM or so - and I don't know if the oven wasn't quite up to temperature yet, but the pizza crust was definitely still doughy. It looked done from the outside, but it should have been given more time in the oven. The salad was a work of art though - I'd go there just for their salads frankly. It's a great idea - Neapolitan pizzas! But I've had Neapolitan pizza in Italy and Neapolitan pizzas do not have squishy crusts. Could have been a "one off". I live in Chicago, Illinois; my friend lives in Buchanan, Michigan. We met in Goshen, Indiana in June 2018 to explore the Shipshewana region together. One night after seeing production of Mamma Mia! at The Roundbarn Theatre in Nappanee, we returned to Goshen for dinner at Venturi since it's one of the few restaurants in the area that is open for dinner on Sundays. Overall, our experience was very positive. We had a gorgeous summer salad, two extraordinary pizzas (especially the one that was topped with figs), and an eggless panna cotta. I enjoyed two regional beers, and my friend savored a limoncello mojito. When we returned to our Airbnb, however, we discovered that we didn't receive the to-go tiramisu that we ordered. It wasn't among our pizza leftovers! Disappointed, I emailed the restaurant through its website to see if we had been charged for the tiramisu since I didn't have a copy of the detailed receipt. When the manager or owner responded the next day, she apologized professionally. She showed me that I hadn't been charged for the order, and she even refunded a small portion of our check as compensation. I was impressed. Everyone makes mistakes. It's how a business deals with mistakes that defines them. If I get back to Goshen, and I really hope I do since it's a cute town with a lot to see, I would love to visit Venturi again. I've noticed throughout the years that the overall Michiana area has a decent selection of different types of restaurants to choose from, and recently the culinary scene has somewhat expanded. Yet there are a limited number of old world, rustic style pizzerias in the Michiana area. So, when I heard about Venturi, I was eager to visit this place. As for the restarant itself I didn't have any major expectations, mainly I was just looking forward to eating great pizza. Upon entering I saw Venturi's cute European style patio as one of their seating options. Then once I entered I looked around the inside of the restarant, which is small, intimate and has a semi-café like atmosphere. My only surprise was the size, I thought Venturi would be somewhat larger, but oh well it is still a nice place. When I was seated and viewed the menu, my eyes lit up!! I knew I was in the right place. Their pizza options, and the ingredients used not just to make their pizza but everything on their menu are divine. Everything on their menu is reminiscent of what a person would see if they were to dine on a beautiful countryside in the motherland itself. It made me want to take a trip to Italy. Homemade dough, fresh mozzarella fire roasted pizza, prosciutto, anchovies, etc. Needless to say, I couldn't wait for my pizza to arrive. The pizza I ordered and the ones they serve are personal sized thin crusted. Based on my past experience from eating other personal sized pizzas from other restaurants it would take roughly ¾'s or a whole one to fill me up (especially if it was a thin crust). Shockingly Venturi's pizza was illusionary!!!! After I ate two slices (which was slightly less than half of the pizza) I was not just full, but stuffed!! WOW!! I never though a thin crust could more than satisfy me especially a personal size. Surprisingly, the food wasn't greasy, or heavy, and I didn't feel weighed down even though I was stuffed during or after my meal. That saying is true, "you get what you pay for". Obviously, Venturi's ingredients are premium quality and stretches a long way. Overall their pizza was definitely very memorable, and I plan on venturing back to try more of their rustic pizza options. My advice for anyone in the area if your looking for amazing pizza with a rustic touch Venturi's is an absolute must!!! read more
