Great vibe, good coffee and breakfast sandwich, and a fair amount of seating. I'm also a fan of a lot of windows and garage doors that allow you to see outside the shop. Only knock on the place is that it's on the pricier end of coffee shops. Worth checking out for sure if you're in the Ballard area.

I only popped in for a quick bite and WOW check out this pastry case! So many delicious options it was honestly hard to choose, but I ended up going with the almond croissant and it did not disappoint. Flaky, buttery, and sweet. I'll be back!

Since Cafe Besalu closed I needed a good alternative. Venture coffee had solid coffee but didn't have a good spread of pastries. When I come to Seattle it's still my go to. And now, looks like they've beefed up their pastry selection. I tried the ham and cheese croissant, almond croissant and chocolate banana bread - all solid. Staff are friendly. I never really had to wait long. Sometimes they leave the front door open - can be chilly if you want to hang around. In Summer they roll up the windows and it gets amazing light in the morning. Love the ambience. The waiting area for coffee is kinda weird - crowding the people sitting down. But like I said, short wait times.

Vanilla chai tea latte with oat milk, almond croissant

What an excellent place!!!! The lady who was working was the sweetest:) their chai is to die for !!!!! If you love a good sweet chai this place is for you. Also the almond croissant! Wow!!! I've never tried one before but this hit the spot. The filling was delectable, and not too sweet. The ambiance is quaint, and warm. I felt super comforted by this place, and believe many others can too!

I just have to come right out and say, holy hell, this coffee was bangin'. Like, worth-drinking-every-day-of-our-vacation-bangin'. If you know me, or you at least see my photos in your feed, you know that I go out to eat and drink. Like, a lot. For me, it's like filling a never-ending void up with as many new experiences as possible. So obviously, with only so many hours in a day and only so many calories to be consumed, my thought process is to limit the amount of times you find yourself in a situation you've already been in before, good or bad. If not always a place you've never been, then at least an item you've never tried. Enter Venture. In planning this trip, despite Venture being literally like two blocks away from where we were staying, it somehow flew under my radar. We had just picked up our bagels nearby and my partner asked if we could get coffee from somewhere else, and I did a quick Yelp search to see if there was a coffee shop in walking distance. When I saw Venture, I was like, huh, guess there is, guess we could go here?? When we stepped inside, I was enthused to see their menu options being as weirdo yummy as they are: rosemary infused syrup? Peach latte? Cardamom rolls and spanakopitas? Uh, hell yeah. We ordered, took a seat on their very comfy couch, and literally within seconds our drinks were already done. We decided to drink them there because the ambiance was so cozy, even with all the windows and doors open and the draft blowing in. And after we tried the first sips of our coffees, my partner and I gazed into each other's eyes, brimming with love. Not love for each other--no--but love for our drinks. We returned on the other two days of our trip, and have reminisced about "probably the best coffee in Ballard" many times since.

I liked the unique options they had but I loved how flexible they were in letting me customize my drink even more! I can't have coffee so I was able to get the elderflower one in a matcha with oat milk instead. I appreciated the baristas friendliness and willingness to do that. The other thing I loved is that they're dog friendly. We sat outside enjoying the sun and the vibes here were so lovely that I will definitely be back. Great spot for peaceful reading or working or just soaking up some nice weather with your pup.

Loved this cute cafe/coffee shop in Ballard! We went on a Sunday during farmers market time and it was busy, but we were still able to get a spot quickly. Coffee, pastries, and sandwich were all fantastic!

A great neighborhood coffee shop! Love that they have a bunch of specialty and seasonal drinks vs. just a vanilla latte, for example. I enjoy the rosemary brown sugar latte (half sweet) and a number of their seasonal drinks! They also have a pretty big selection of pastries (have tried a few and have enjoyed!). The space itself is smaller and seats do fill up pretty quickly. My only minor complaint is that the staff could be a bit friendlier (they're not rude, but in my experience they don't go out of their way to smile or greet customers -- usually I'm the one saying hi first and asking how they are doing). Also, the space does get crowded and a little hectic at peak times when trying to wait for your drink (and it's basically blocking the walkway, etc.). Overall a great place and glad they are in the neighborhood.

københavn latte

Not sure why it has taken me this long to check out this charming cafe in Ballard but I am very sad I didn't figure it out sooner. I love their scandi themed baked goods, drinks, and general atmosphere. I tried the københavn latte which was sweeter than I usually like a flavored latte but the cardamom flavor was perfectly strong I would get it again. I'll be back very soon to do a fika as their sweet baked goods looked incredible. I found out this is the same baked goods as freya and what is served at Hagen which totally jives with the scandi vibes from the other two cafes. Can't wait to be back and try out all their pastries and seasonal drinks!

Ask the Community - Venture Coffee

Is the coffee still organic? Java Bean always touted the fact that their coffee was organic but since rebranding to Venture I haven't seen anything about the coffee being organic on their website, inside the shop, or in marketing materials.

Hey Cassey. Yes, the current organic offerings are Ethopia Limu as well as the Columbia Tolima. We also serve a direct trade relationship coffee - Lesli Zelaya, Honduras that our roasting partner (Hagen Coffee Roasters) sourced from a direct trade…

I was so excited to try the lava cookie as a lover or all things chocolate, but wasn't a huge fan of the cardamom. I think the pungent flavour definitely added a unique juxtaposition to the rich chocolate, but to me it was too reminiscent of taking the wrong bite of biryani and having to spit out a mouthful of spices. Thankfully my date had no such qualms and loved finishing my cookie for me! The crunchy crisp was his favourite part and he cleared the plate. My mocha was exceptional though, I loved the creamy texture of the milk and how perfectly the chocolate was incorporated into the drink! It was perfect until the last drop. My date also loved his latte and practically chugged the whole thing down! As a lover of Pokemon I especially adored all the decor, it was so cool seeing all the fun Pokemon cards and I just love the fun vibes and atmosphere of this spot!

Both were ready pretty quickly. The chai was spicy and not too sweet which I really liked. The egg sandwich was yummy too. Thick egg filling, with the chili sauce went well together. Pickles were a little too salty for me especially just to eat on the side. I guess you could put it inside the sandwich? But still, quite salty. Service was super friendly and welcoming, would definitely come again to try more of their seasonal drinks and food. A cocktail here sounds interesting as well!

I've been wanting to try since last weekend but there was no way I join the longest line during Sunday famers market, so I waited until Homage coffee opens again on Wednesday. I actually had to do a 180 on my first visit on the Wednesday and try again after my midday run because it was really crowded on a weekday around 11! I seriously wonder why are there this many people milling about at this off hour..I mean, I am part of that population, but are more people unemployed than it seems? Probably. Fortunately, the line disappeared later and I didn't have to wait when I visited for the second time a few hours later. It was a fairly warm day and I just finished a run, so I went for a 12oz iced latte with the seasonal syrup (it was like a carrot spice syrup). The syrup was really good and I liked how it was just the right level of sweetness for me. Barista was friendly and helpful. I didn't know this shop was so hyped until I visited. I'll likely stop by again when I don't see any lines out the door.
