One star for the hospitality. One star for the aesthetics and local art decor. But as a coffee shop, it did not make it on my list. I tried the famous lavender chai latte and I can't say that I tasted anything but watered down milk and a pinch of spice. It was also an extremely small cup, and $5 for a 6oz did not seem worth it. I wouldn't even pay $1 for it. I feel that this place is more of a wine shop that just so happens to serve coffee. It seems etched into an apartment building that was converted into an office space. Though there's plenty of wall outlets, there's only about 7 tables in a tiny corner that if one guy coughs non-stop, they'd infect the majority of patrons. Unfortunately I had two of those during my visit and I was not the only one who wanted to get out of there.

Imagine this: You walk into a small corner of the universe that smells like warm, melted nostalgia, the kind that hugs you with chocolate and whispers sweet nothings of sugar-coated promises. The cookies? Well, they're more than cookies. They're the kind of baked love letters you'd write if you had flour in your veins and a soul dipped in vanilla. The service? As sweet as that first bite. The location? Cozy enough to make you wonder why the rest of the world isn't built for reading books and stealing moments with another perfectly baked treat. And the coffee? It won't make you question your life choices -- it'll just help you savor them a little longer.

    Little Glass shop upstairs.

This place has lots of good vibes. Coffee shop right when you enter, wine shop just beyond and upstairs. It's a little tight on the entry and not a ton of room for the line but that's ok! The breakfast sandwich took a bit long to take but was well worth it. The veggie pesto was obviously handmade-pesto, fresh motz slice and homemade veggie Patty! So good. The cold brew is delicious and holds up on its own without flavor or creamer. A little sad the upstairs sitting area was closed off, there weren't any places to sit and eat/drink so you have to be taking it to go. Other than the seating issue I would highly recommend!

Cute coffee spot in downtown Ballard. Stopped in to work for a bit in the afternoon and liked the place. Its quiet and they have no music too- which felt good as I had meetings today, they have wine bar too, lots of wine all over the store as well to buy.

This is a great local coffee shop to grab some coffee and go or sit down and do some work! This is located on Ballard Ave so it's right in the middle of the lot of restaurants on that street and in that area. Based on these reviews it seems like the lavender chai latte is really popular. I didn't order that but I got the hazelnut iced latte which was good. One cool thing is that they have a flavor wheel which will help you decide what you should get based on what flavors you like or what you're feeling at the moment. They have a nice area behind the counter where people can do some work using their free wifi. There also seemed to be an upstairs space that people can also use which makes this place bigger than it seems! There's even a lift to allow those with disabilities to get to the back of the shop who can't use the stairs. How inclusive and accessible!

I got the pistachio matcha. The drink was lukewarm for some reason and the matcha was so clumpy and not mixed in to the point that it was undrinkable.

Such a cute coffee shop! Adorable seating in the upstairs area. Went on a weekday and it felt so secluded and quiet. Got the chai (hot) and a hazelnut americano (iced). Both drinks were decent. Very nice service from the barista, and she was able to tell me which company they get their syrups/flavorings from (Holy Kakow which is organic). They also have some type of wine club and lots of wines on display, which is cute.

    Must try

I love this place. I can't wait until it's open for indoor seating again. Great coffee, pleasant barista and the breakfast sandwiches sound amazing! Parking is hard in the area so do yourself a favor and walk!

Great space to work! Got a pumpkin latte to try - didn't have strong pumpkin taste and wasn't overly sweet. Looked like they have a great wine selection! Would come back to try a few out! Seemed to be a lot you wouldn't see at the grocery stores.

Cute wallpaper/mirror in upstairs seating area. "Vanna White's" display hand.

Cute coffee shop. Great coffee! Really interesting selection of organic wine though we did not purchase any as we were leaving town the next day. The decor for the upstairs seating area is nice, it's also a shared space for their wine. Barista was sweet and helpful!

An excellent artisan coffee shop, with a smooth, winey CounterCulture local roast in the grinder, excellent Salmonberry Bakery pastries, food and drink options for pale, angry vegans and militant vegetarians yet approachable for normal folks too. Fun, artsy, local atmosphere. A cravable Ballard experience! I always start with a little mocha, because I have coffee trust issues and because it's nearly impossible to screw up. You just need to be at least as good at making espresso as your average Starbucks barista...or my cat. Chocolate covers a world of sins...although to my misfortune I can usually still taste them. Theirs was saintly indeed, the unusual chocolate sauce they use lent brown sugar and vanilla notes to the molasses and nut tang of the espresso, the flavors smoothed together nicely by the milk. The effect was a mildly sweet cocoa and coffee, with hints of honey. Very pleasant. Trust established, I moved on to a straight espresso. Although I would have preferred the barista had poured it straight into the service cup instead of transferring the shot (you lose valuable crema when you do that) the shot was pleasantly nutty and lively on the nose, belying it's South American origins, but tangy (winey) on the tongue, with a strong molasses note and hints of spice and anise, likely from its African component. Finish was slightly bitter. A slightly longer full extraction pulled ristretto might ease that finish. Nonetheless delightful! The Cappuccino, which I consider to be the pinnacle of the barista's art when done well, was unfortunately done in the wet, Seattle latte style. It was however quite beautiful (see picture) and well-proportioned, (cappuccinos should be 1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk, and 1/3 foam) if a bit milk-heavy. The marvelous molasses flavors really shine through in the unsweetened cappuccino, and the finish is chocolaty and comforting. CappQuest©rating 9/10 An exemplary cafe in the embarrassment of coffee riches that is Ballard, and a must-stop for any coffee lover! Highest recommendation.

I tried the fall seasonal Medici mocha with an apple cinnamon pull apart and my husband tried the cortado and a latte. The quality is great and it's one of those places that doesn't make overly sweet drinks so if you like a mocha that is very coffee forward in flavor, this is a great option. They also have vegan friendly breakfast pastries and burritos so you can accommodate multiple people of varying diets. Baristas are friendly and make conversation while you wait, even when it's a little busy. It has a few tables and the typical noise of a cafe, so feel free to if into their WiFi if you want to work from somewhere other than home if that's your style. Overall great experience and I think the seasonal specials are worth a trip if you're looking for a little more fun!

Matcha latte w/ almond milk was alright, knowing this can't be compared to what I can get at tea cafes. I love how they make this place green w/ all sorts of indoor plants. Plants do light up the area and mood given that Seattle can be so gloomy around this time. Def coming back if I'm in the area again.

My partner and I both got hot Sesame latte's and when we got them the cups were only filled up maybe 3/4 of the way! Not to mention barely ANY sesame foam. And to add to all of that, the workers kept playing the same song repeatedly with horrible language and laughing about it every time it restarted. I don't mind if a cafe plays a few songs with the occasional bad word, but this was like a parody song of the "f-word." Not a great look guys.
