Are you a Star Trek fan or a Star Wars fan? It doesn't matter because this neat as hell coffee spot is a nod to both! It's such a fun stop with artwork and figurines and a menu with very clever names for the drinks. It's light and bright with a clean futuristic look just like quarters or space on an episode. They have pastries to go along with your beverages. They even have blue milk! The staff was really nice and helpful. They even sell merch. I'm going to give a big hats off to whomever arranged the t-shirts because you have proven that you can get tshirts other than the boxy, stiff, high necked, thick cotton with sleeves down past the elbows. I'm trying to say they have great quality tshirts, and they even went up to 3X. Love this place!

I appreciate a strong drink so I got the hyperspace - latte with 4 shots and lavender latte iced. You can tell the barista puts some love into it. Love the Star Wars themed art (and Star Trek ). We also enjoyed the lavender lemon cake -- nice and lemony with bits of lavender on top and in the cake. It's a little dry but still ok. It's nice that there are some electrical plugs to plug in if you need to get some work in too.

I come here about once a week. It's a great study spot, I sully come during my lunch break to get some work done. The pastries are fresh, coffee is good! It's such a cool, cute spot. Not big but great for a small friend meet up of 4 people or less.

Very cute sci-fi/Star Wars themed coffee shop in Magnolia, which I consider the Outer Rim of Seattle! We found the shop quite crowded on a Saturday afternoon. The barista (who I think may be an owner as well) offered to set up some chairs for us which was super nice of her (luckily some seats ended up opening up). Good coffee, some yummy looking treats, and a very clean space with some funny themed touches. It also seemed like the baristas knew a lot of the customers, which made for a nice vibe. I feel like it's a good sign when places have faithful regulars. This is a great option if you find yourself in Magnolia!

After meandering on a multi bakeshop route, I decided to checkout The Outer Rim featured by Eater Seattle and Instagram (12/23/23). I remember this location years ago as another indie cafe (HUB Coffee back in 2018). I'm glad to see this spot revived and with an amazing sleek transformation. Bright, lots of natural light. Ample seating with two and four tops, plus window counter spots too. The interior decor is sci-fi themed with nods to Star Trek and Star Wars. A lot of well appointed touches are found throughout the cafe: art work, plants, light fixtures, paneling, and color palette. The Outer Rim just opened a week ago. They feature Herkimer Coffee, spot-on espresso, assorted cold beverages, and fresh pastries from Macrina. Note: cashless establishment, credit/debit cards only. Definitely recommended!

I came here for the first time during a trip to Seattle. I see why this cafe has such great reviews. The coffee is stellar, and the service was very warm and welcoming. The Star Wars and Star Trek decor gives this spot a lot of personality and character. I can tell that this place has a host of return customers and locals. I got the Princess Leia specialty latte which is a combination of white chocolate and lavender. It tasted so good!! Definitely give this coffeeshop a try if you're in Seattle!

I have been to The Outer Rim a handful of times, and my vanilla latte is always delicious! The staff are always friendly, and I enjoy the ambiance of the coffee shop- very fun and sci fi themed. This coffee shop has quickly become one of my favorite coffee shops in the area and I highly recommend trying it out if you haven't!

Do or do not, there is no try! - Yoda This place definitely does! Meticulously clean interior, thoughtful decor, great attention to detail, and of course fantastic coffee... we got machiattos.

This place is headed in the right direction! It has a really cute energy outside with some fun signage. Inside there is art. It definitely needs a pin ball machine and some ice pops or something to keep it as a destination this summer. A coffee shop alone won't last long at this spot which has seen a number of businesses over the years. I picked up a bag of decaf coffee which they put together for me by request.

The barista (who I believe is the owner) was super kind and welcoming! They showed me the menu they were preparing for May the 4th, when I was there on Monday because I wasn't sure what to order. I grabbed the Hyper Space, which was excellent! I stayed to read my book and enjoy my drink. The Star Wars decor is really cool and well done, but still subtle enough that you don't feel like you're in a theme park either. I liked that balance. I also loved the bathroom wall mural lol.

Good coffee, great atmosphere. The barista (owner perhaps?) seemed very friendly and was chatting with regulars. Cool concept for a coffee shop! Great place to work from as it was quite quiet when I was there.

I tried the fall seasonal Medici mocha with an apple cinnamon pull apart and my husband tried the cortado and a latte. The quality is great and it's one of those places that doesn't make overly sweet drinks so if you like a mocha that is very coffee forward in flavor, this is a great option. They also have vegan friendly breakfast pastries and burritos so you can accommodate multiple people of varying diets. Baristas are friendly and make conversation while you wait, even when it's a little busy. It has a few tables and the typical noise of a cafe, so feel free to if into their WiFi if you want to work from somewhere other than home if that's your style. Overall great experience and I think the seasonal specials are worth a trip if you're looking for a little more fun!

And a shoutout to the server for toasting my scone. It came out warm, not dry, not too cheesy, just how I like it. Matcha latte w/ almond milk was alright, knowing this can't be compared to what I can get at tea cafes. I love how they make this place green w/ all sorts of indoor plants. Plants do light up the area and mood given that Seattle can be so gloomy around this time. Def coming back if I'm in the area again.
