I came in an hour before close, and I know sometimes you can get treated differently because of that, but Tammy happily took me in and made me feel welcome and comfortable! The interior was so fancy, shiny, and clean and I was even impressed by the bathroom. They had a bidet!!! I just had a really poor experience with this Nail Salon. This is how my nails looked immediately after I left the Salon. I showed them a) that my cuticles were never treated b) that my nails are still dirty. They told me I needed to pay extra for those services. Then I went to sit down for a pedicure and the employee told me to place my feet in the water. He was not paying attention and the water was SCOLDING hot and burned my feet to the point where I visibly experienced immediate and lingering pain from the burn. They offered me a ten percent discount for my troubles. I paid 76 dollars for this result. The salon is stunning but the service was really poor. read more

I really like coming to Venice Nail Bar to see Jenny, she is the owner. She works very hard on each nail and doesn't miss the details. I appreciate the ambiance here and the front desk is always super friendly. I get SNS which is on the more $$$ pricey side - but such is life these days. I rather pay for quality or put my money in a business that wants me to be happy than be cheap and break a nail in 2 days. I've come here for a year now and no broken nails so far! No chipping of gel or SNS that I have experienced which is super important to me considering how rough I am with knocking my nails on every surface. (I'm clumsy) The only reason I give 4 stars is because if I do not get Jenny I have someone else and I'm here for 3 hours getting a manicure. read more

I've been coming to Venice Nail Bar since it opened in Park West Village (March 2021). I absolutely love the decor and aesthetics! Jenny, the owner, has always done my nails. Due to a recommendation she made, my nails have grown beautifully. Jenny is always ready to take care of me and my nails. She is very attentive, making sure I am happy with the selection asking, "do you like it?" I love dip powder on my natural nails!! There are great colors and brand selection! All of the staff at Venice Nail Bar are great! They work hard to take care of each client. Jenny told me the price is higher than other salons because of the quality and my nails did look pretty good so I paid and left. My nails look great. I've been struggling to find a place that is clean, doesn't rush you out the door, and does quality work. Poor management. I called ahead and made an appointment. I picked out a color for SNS. What was applied was not the color I picked out. Manager told me that I don't know my colors. She literally tried to convince me that what was applied match and that I could not see. Take a look at the picture. Can you tell which color I picked out? Doesn't matter.. none of them matched. The issue with SNS is that you cannot see until the final glaze coating the final reveal; therefore the process is complete before you know there may be an issue. I calmly explained I picked the color with the green hue and pointed to their mislabeled SNS bottle that clearly did not match. The manager again told me my nails were green and I couldn't see it. I paid the nail tech in full. Will not return. It was a demeaning experience. One that many women experience. Great thing there is a nail salon on every other block. Don't need to pay to be insulted. FYI ladies.. this is COMMON for many of us. Some of these salon owners are SO RUDE to some customers.. by choice. It's nail polish and even for something so simple, this salon manager did not want to serve basic respect. I always make an appointment the last three times she has been more than 15 minutes late and one time it was 30 minutes late dealing with another client. I normally do this in between meetings and I cannot stand when someone does not respect my time. I have also had to drive farther from my house just to continue going to her and it's just a disappointment that she doesn't respect a long-time customer. Went in here randomly as its close by and I was in desperate need of a mani and pedi. I recently moved and my hands showed it. There was a brief wait and then my nail tech Stephanie was able to see me. She started with the pedi first and really took her time. I felt like my feet really were able to soak and I was able to relax. I've moved from NYC where the minute you sit down your feet are already coming out the water and being polished so this was a nice difference. The salon itself was very calming. Everyone used their inside voices if they talked at all and I was able to read undisturbed. It was very clean and bright which I also liked. After my pedicure we moved over to the manicure which was just as relaxing. It was a bit pricey but I decided to splurge for all the spa add ons. It was all worth it and I will definitely be back. I thought about whether to update this review for 6 days. Since first finding this place, I have retuned several times, recommended to friends and have been overall pleased with the results until my most recent visit. I had an appointment with one person and because I was 8 mins late had to be switched to another tech (no complaint with that, however, this only works if all staff are equally capable). The young man I was placed with, although polite, did a very amateur-like job on both my feet and nails. The nails are uneven, slanted and the shape I hate most and told him I did not want. The polish on my toes started so far away from the cuticle so 6 days later it looks like I need a pedicure (my pedicures last 3 weeks easily). He excused himself multiple times during the appointment and was responding to his watch during the appointment. Not sure how much attention he paid to what I asked. Nails are a luxury, I paid a lot for this treat and should be assured a professional result. After this experience, I am reluctant to recommend this place and may not be returning. If I do return, I will have to make sure to only use specific techs. read more

I got a gel manicure here for the first time last week and had a great experience. Kim took her time with my nails and got the shape just right. When one of my nails cracked a few days later (not Kim's fault, I just had a weak nail) they fit me in within an hour of calling and fixed it free of charge. She even added builder gel to prevent it from cracking again. I will definitely be back! read more

It is actually with a heavy heart that I leave this review. Our first two visits were exceptional, however today's visit was disheartening. Our nail tech, Jenny, arrived nearly half an hour late. She called to say that she would be a little late...but half an hour? She did not apologize for her tardiness. My daughter chose an acrylic set and the results were not even close to the picture that she presented. Mind you, we were not expecting the exact look...just a natural, glossy french tip. The pink used was almost a mauve. Strange. Honestly, we would have gotten over it had the detailing been a bit more precise. I had to take her to another nail salon (who described the work as "sloppy") to make another appointment for a repair...an additional expense. To make matters worse, there was a piece of lint painted into the nail. Jenny looked at it, questioned it, and asked her what it was. "Fur?" (as if to imply that it might have been her fault). I mean, really? Let me not leave out the fact that she was scheduled to get a pedicure and, because Jenny was late, had to get her pedicure while Jenny finished her nails in the pedicure spa chair. Not a very relaxing experience (as she bounced between my daughter and her next scheduled appointment). I know that these are clearly first world problems, but it was my daughter's 18th birthday and I wanted her to feel special. Jenny didn't even offer compensation. I had to ask for it. She said, "I can give you 10%." Completely unprofessional. I read amazing reviews about Jenny, but I guess she picks and chooses in regards to the treatment of her clients. Would not recommend. Although the salon is clean and pretty my nails are not. I asked for an acrylic set with a french manicure. She used clear acrylic instead of pink like the pic I showed her. So I asked her to use polish for the tips she said it would only last two days. I was so disappointed in her using clear acrylic that I had her paint them white. She applied four coats of gel polish so now my nails are bumpy instead of smooth. Everything I asked for she had a reason why I shouldn't do it. I won't be returning! read more

I went in for the first time and got a new set of dip manicure. The tech was using the drill to file down my acrylic nails and he lost control of the drill and the machine ripped right across my fingertip. I was so in shock I slowly realized I was bleeding and that the tech just injured me. I became very upset and told the tech I didn't trust him and I requested a new person to help me. No manager or supervisor ever approached me to apologize while I was sitting there with my finger openly bleeding and blood all over the nail station. All they did was give me a bandaid and made me wait for a new person. I got my nails done the way I intended and it was incredibly painful getting the one finger done because of the cut. I go to the cash register and the discount I am offered was 30% off. I demanded for more discount and they gave me 50%. I asked for a refund the next day and they eventually did refund me.
