After seeing how beautifully Jerry crafted my friend's wedding suit, I knew immediately that I…read morewanted him to design and make both my suit and shirt for my own wedding. From the very beginning, Jerry took the time to guide me through the entire process of building my first custom suit. We carefully reviewed every detail, from the collar to the cuffs, and I quickly realized just how meticulous the art of suit-making truly is or perhaps that level of precision is simply Jerry's signature. At the first fitting, Jerry proudly presented the finished suit and shirt, walking me through every thoughtful detail. He explained the stitching, pointed out how the trousers were subtly tailored at the hem to drape perfectly over the shoes, highlighted the custom embroidery, and even showed the sweat guards sewn into the suit--along with countless other details I would have never noticed on my own. His enthusiasm and pride in his craft were unmistakable, and it was clear that he genuinely cares about creating something exceptional for his clients. I walked away with an incredible suit and tie, and an even greater appreciation for the craftsmanship and passion that Jerry brings to his work.

This place is nice but maybe a little overrated…read more Jerry's not a bad guy and probably not a bad salesman. I thought I was coming in for a consultation, and I liked the fabrics and patterns we came up with, but he was disappointed that I was not ready to throw down $4,000 for the custom suit that day. (He convinced me that anything cheaper in his shop wasn't worth my time.) I can see why he likes to close the deal the day of. The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt throwing down than much for this suit... I had a few other reasons, too. Anyway, I sent a message to the store the next day, politely explaining why that I appreciated Jerry's time, but the shop wasn't for me. Jerry ended up calling me, and I wish I hadn't answered. He started trying to get me to get his cheaper stuff that had already talked me out of. He was pushy, dismissive of my reasons and all around unpleasant. I think they have some off the-rack suits available, too, and I believe they offer tailoring, but I am no longer interested. He'll probably respond to this and be dismissive again, but those are my two cents. He has a nice assistant. I won't pretend it's bad quality. Still three stars.

I had some old suits that my sons liked but needed good tailoring to fit them. I knew alterations…read moreof this kind are not easy and needed great experience to do properly. Doing research to find a good place, I came across High Society and remembered my father had some great suits made for him there. Made an appointment and went in with my sons. Mr. Lim and Brandon were very welcoming and professional and clearly knew what needed to be done. The store is beautiful as well with a lot of gorgeous pieces on display. Mr. Lim did a bunch of measurements and said they would be ready in a week. We just picked the suits up and they look amazing! So many small details done right completely changes how the suits look. We are all so happy with how they turned out! Thank you so much, Mr. Lim and crew. Bespoke suits for me next!

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience…read more The tailor presents himself as a designer, so I trusted him with several expensive pieces for alterations. Sadly, most of the items were damaged, including very simple tasks such as shortening T-shirts -- which were also done poorly. What made the experience worse was the lack of accountability: no apology, no professionalism, and an overall rude attitude from both the tailor and the staff. The focus seemed purely financial, with no respect for the client or the garments. The team appears inexperienced, lacking both the technical skills and the understanding that tailoring and design are crafts that require taste, care, and respectful communication -- not just tools and prices. I strongly do not recommend bringing valuable pieces here for alterations, and I would not advise learning or training with them either. Design is an art, and customer service is part of that art -- unfortunately, both are missing here.

Total cost was 160 dollars, including dry cleaning, which is less than half of buying a blazer at buck mason or something these days. The shop is small and unassuming. It's on the lower floor of a two story strip mall right in the prime Tujunga area odd moorpark. Bonus is you can free park in their lot! The owner doesn't speak the best English. But we got along just fine and you can tell he is a real pro. There is a sign that indicates a 4% charge for credit or debit. I get it. It's a small business being hosed by the credit card companies. So bring cash if you want to save a little $$$. I hope this business grows and excels. It's nice to have a local old tailor that's fast and affordable nearby. I'll post pictures of my suit when I can but wanted to get this review out there to support our local businesses.

I would know, as I've shopped around and tried out different tailors, but I'm going to be a lifetime customer at Bas Arbat. Here's the short of it: * Value: top tier tailoring at an excellent price. The quality is the best I've found * Time: the turnaround times are FAST. I am big on tailoring the clothes I buy so they fit absolutely perfectly, and often times he'll have more basic alterations done within hours * Arman himself is super kind. Great guy. I genuinely look forward to dropping off & picking up my clothes. Plus, he always texts me when my items are ready to be picked up! If you need a tailor, Arman is the best you'll find.
