I ordered my dress from Etsy, and it was shipped from Poland. While it already had great bones and was exactly the style I envisioned for my wedding day, it was not fitted in the way I needed -- especially the corset, which I wanted to feel structured, secure, and perfectly tailored with no looseness. I was working with a very tight budget, but I also knew that if the dress was not altered properly, it simply would not feel right for such an important day. Found ourselves needing to find a great couture tailor/seamstress to help alter a few high-end dresses for an event within six days. Basically, it would require hand-stitching around the hem to ensure the dress was proactively protected against possible fraying of the sheer silk / cotton material. When another seamstress (see previous review) promised the world, then disappeared, we needed to find another referral, and one of our stylist at the studio suggested this quaint shop located in the heart of West Hollywood. They were open thankfully until 7 pm - much later than most tailors - and even at that hour were still incredibly busy with clientele needing suit and dress alterations. Thankfully, there was plenty of parking across the street, in an area that often has no available parking, and waited about 20 minutes- a blessing considering how popular they are! The owner was incredibly gracious, carefully examined the dress, found a few other places that could use the protective stitching, and graciously worked out a price point that would work. They even graciously expedited the work, allowing us to pick up within four days versus the normal 7 to 10. Genuine lifesavers; we can only assume from all of the outstanding reviews and how busy they are that the work will be excellent. Will update once the dress is ready. It seemed like they had about 5 to 6 tailors on staff, an owner, a senior manager, and a front desk person - so very well staffed and clearly thriving in their excellence. read more

I had an extremely unfortunate and unprofessional experience here. I dropped off my suit on a Monday 11/10/2025 and was told it would be ready Friday 11/14/2025. I spoke with the manager Friday 11/14/2025 to ask if I could just come Saturday morning on opening since we had such a tight schedule giving them an extra day . He said yes no problem. I arrived Saturday morning only to find out they haven't worked on my suit. He said the guy working on it was sick on Friday. Long story short I asked for a refund and my things and went on home only to find the inside of the suit ruined. When I asked him to pay for the shit since it wasn't returnable he said take it to someone it's a 10 min job then told me to go fuck . Attached are the photos of the suit and the text he sent me. I definitely won't be coming back. Not only was he rude but he urged me to write it so here I am. As a business owner your customers should be your priority being rude just shows how much you care about the people you service. Good luck! read more

I have taken clothes to MH Tailoring a dozen times. The ritual is the same every time: you try the piece, the master kneels down and pins where he knows the work must be done, and the master lady (his wife) takes notes to calculate the cost. He barely speaks English, but he is kind and sweet and wise. Not even once he missed a spot, suggested a wrong idea, showed off or felt pretentious. For me, he is a master of the craft. I've been around, I have known many tailors, and this man is one of my very favorites. He finishes pinning, and he leaves gracefully, leaving the wonder woman to finish the accounting. There is always a SRP. She always asks for when do you need the work. They have A LOT of work, and they have a back room where many people work. If you are in a hurry, they deliver, at an added percentage. If you pay cash, "Cash is King" (her own poetic words), you get a better price. Every time they delivered the work in time. You can try the fixed pieces, and he makes sure you feel great and happy. Every time, I felt cared for and respected, almost pampered. There is the son, too. Maybe more than one working at the back. The son I know is fun, respectful and kind. Every other team member who I knew were always efficient and nice to deal with. I'm almost hoping to have another clothing item to bring to them to work their magic. I highly recommend this experience. It's, hands down, one of my favorites in LA. read more

Hard to believe this shop has so many stellar reviews. I came in to drop off an item for custom embroidery and some guy walked to the front and said "I'm MH." I started trying to explain what I needed, and without saying anything to me started sticking a pin through some of the fabric and started removing the insert from the item I had brought in. As he started removing the insert, he carelessly knocked all over the counter and floor the pieces of fabric I had brought in. I asked him to stop but he ignored me. I then asked him "do you speak English?" He said "yes" but it quickly became obvious that he didn't. I tried to get help from his wife, but she ignored me and behaved as though it was normal for her husband to be scouring the floor and counter for bits of fabric that he had carelessly sent flying and was unable to locate. Thank God they showed how incomplete they are before I trusted them with an important project. Beware. read more

I came here to do alterations on a sports coat that I purchased from Amazon. I just needed a tad bit more room in the waist area. I found this place on Google as the first result that came up. Amazing reviews given by others. I came in to do the measurements. Very nice people. The gentlemen began to do the measurements and I specifically asked if they were able to do the extension around the waist. It seemed like at this starting point we were having a communication barrier/issue. I kept trying to point out that on the coat, I wanted to make sure that the edge line came straight down when the top button is buttoned. Another thing about this which surprised me in which I don't want to go in depth on, is that he didn't seem to know that on a two button jacket, it's normally the top button you want to button only, and that the edge line should come straight down, otherwise it looks like you are tight in the mid section. Came back a week later. They did the arm alterations and maybe the shoulders, but the request to expand the waistline ignored or forgotten. I wore the jacket to show them, the nice lady said "give us 5 minutes to fix". What are you going to alter in 5 minutes I wondered? I assumed they did the buttons and moved them closer to the edge to give me more room. Put it back on and the edge is still off. Looks like the same position as it was when I tried it on before the alterations. Long story short, paid $290 for alterations that I didn't get. I kept making it a point as nicely as possible that I expected more waist room, however they keep insisting that I "looked good" in the jacket. I wanted to "feel good" in the jacket. If they couldn't do the alteration on the jacket, I would have preferred they told me it wasn't something that could be done, but instead they took the sales with no results. read more
