Won't be back! Beware! I have been going to this dry cleaner for many years. Recently, I forgot I'd dropped off 2 dresses, and when I went to pick them up a couple of months later, they were gone! Two expensive silk dresses just disappeared, and I wasn't offered any compensation or even an apology. All I got were excuses and that they aren't responsible for anything left longer than 1 month. I have avoided posting this review for a very long time. I would rather gatekeep. This is my secret drycleaning spot, Mr. Kim is my tailor, etc. Unfortunately, there are low reviews that are so outside the scope of my almost monthly (if not bi-weekly) visits. I have to say something. Service: Friendly and careful. They always make sure they understand what I need. If it's not super speedy, the customers are mainly to blame. I know I take a minute explaining things. Cost: By far, the most reasonable prices I've come across and I live walking distance from at least four dry cleaning spots. Most things are at LEAST half the price of other places. Tailoring: Mr. Kim is the main reason I'm addicting to getting almost every article of my clothing tailored. I exclusively shop at thrift stores and this is how I justify this expense. He's respectful, efficient, and never makes me feel weird for wanting everything shorter and tighter. There's a bit of a language barrier, but this is just another reason to learn some Korean. My advice is that you walk in rather than ask for a quote over the phone or through Yelp. Even if you're an hour away, they're likely much less expensive than your local options. You also have to communicate what you need clearly. If there are stains or spots that you're extra concerned about, point them out! In conclusion, I'm a regular and I'll continue to be a regular. I recommend them very highly. read more

My wife and I came in this morning around 10 am to get her leather coat's sleeves shortened. Shockingly, Mr. Kim put a safety pin on her sleeve instead of marking it. It was horrifying to watch him damage beautiful genuine leather like that. He said it was to mark the stitch but the stitch should've been hidden under her sleeve anyways. The front guy Henry watched the whole thing happen and felt awful. Such an unfortunate, careless interaction. We used La Brea Cleaners as our main place to get laundry done, and before they were very inconsistent with how long it took. Sometimes it would be several days, and other times they told me it took over a week. I also had a specific request about what to do with the laundry (I just wanted it to not touch the clean cloths) and it was honored 2/3's of the time. Most recent batch of laundry had dirt and stains all over and I think we'll probably not come back here. I'm very disappointed with the quality. Got three blazers dry cleaned. Price was very good and blazers look great. Place has a small parking lot in front of it which is super convenient. Upon dropping off the blazers, there was a weird situation where the store was open but there wasn't anyone who could speak English or Spanish. I really appreciated the communication. He asked if there was anything he could do to repair what was broken. He does work really hard and we love this family business despite the bad apple. He offered to refund us our money and gave us times he would personally be there in the future so he could handle our future transactions. Owner very nice but I was quoted $40 for a dress hem by Rafael over yelp after i sent photos of the exact dress. I was told to show up asap so they could do it in time only for them to tell me it was $100 when I show up to the store. Not the owner's fault but employees are just making things up to get people to show up to the store. This was after i sent them pictures and everything. Also, the tailor cut the tag off without my consent so now I can't even return the dress that doesnt fit me. Wasted time and energy. I had an emergency repair with a dress I was wearing to an upcoming wedding. There was an accident in which a candle burned a small hole in the dress. I was devastated and there was no time to buy a new dress. I brought the dress to La Brea Cleaners and Rafi, the owner, greeted me, offered his assistance, and personally/magically repaired the hole. I have been looking for a dry cleaning/tailoring service for a long time now and am so happy to have found it in La Brea Cleaners. Yesterday I needed two leggings quickly hemmed. I was expecting to find businesses charging astronomical prices but was so surprised at the prices here and decided to give it a try. I asked them if it was possible to have the leggings hemmed for the following day and they obliged. To my complete surprise, two hours later I got a text that my items were ready for pick up. I thought this must be a mistake and called to confirm. Rafael informed me that my items were indeed ready and that he had them rushed because I needed them as soon as possible.
