5 Stars - Lifesaver Before the Emmys! I came to LA for the Emmys and the night before my flight, I tried on my dress--only to realize it was way too big. I had lost a bit of weight and the fit was completely off. The dress looked boxy and frumpy, and I honestly started to panic. Thankfully, I found Lina--the amazing owner of Alterations Et Al in West Hollywood. I reached out and she invited me to bring the dress in to see what could be done. She was so warm, kind, and professional--and even with the tight turnaround, she agreed to take on the rush job. The dress needed a lot of work, but when I picked it up, it fit like a glove. It looked flawless and felt like it had been custom-made for me. Lina is not only incredibly talented, but also fast, detail-oriented, and just lovely to work with. So many people told me I looked beautiful that night--and a few even said I was one of the best dressed. That's 100% thanks to Lina's amazing work. Usually I am in no rush for alterations from Lina but I had an emergency red carpet event that I needed a dress tailored in 1 week and Lina came through! It had two mismatched straps and was all bunched up at the waist because she took the dress in but not the lining! It made my wife look 20 pounds heavier (her words). So we head up to L.A. the day before the wedding with an incomplete, botched fit. We found Alteration Et Al on Yelp (of course) and headed to West Hollywood. Best work I've seen in a long time! She practically made me a brand new dress! I am beyond impressed and so pleased with the results! I regret to say I gained weight during the pandemic, and the bridesmaids dress needed to be (practically) doubled in size. We all know that it's very challenging to find someone who will do a great job for alterations to our clothes especially our nice, expensive items. I can assure you that Lina on 632 Doheny in West Hollywood is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! My boyfriend had expensive 7 and Joe's jeans that he bought in standard cut fit to be made into Boot cut so they would fall over his shoes correctly, shortened, original hemmed and expand the crotch region to be more comfortable. I recommended her after I had an issue from a different alteration place that tried to original hem on my Hudson jeans. Lina did a fantastic job on my boyfriends expensive jeans. He loved the feel and fit!! I know that was tedious tough work and not easy. Currently she may have a small space to do her work in, but her work produces HUGE EXCEPTIONAL AND EXCELLENT RESULTS. Lina is a freakin' alterations MASTER. My jenny yoo bridesmaids dress was too long and the style of the bodice had a weird loose hanging midsection that didn't look great and made me look like I had a belly pooch.
