5 Stars - Lifesaver Before the Emmys! I came to LA for the Emmys and the night before my flight, I tried on my dress--only to realize it was way too big. I had lost a bit of weight and the fit was completely off. The dress looked boxy and frumpy, and I honestly started to panic. Thankfully, I found Lina--the amazing owner of Alterations Et Al in West Hollywood. I reached out and she invited me to bring the dress in to see what could be done. She was so warm, kind, and professional--and even with the tight turnaround, she agreed to take on the rush job. The dress needed a lot of work, but when I picked it up, it fit like a glove. It looked flawless and felt like it had been custom-made for me. Lina is not only incredibly talented, but also fast, detail-oriented, and just lovely to work with. So many people told me I looked beautiful that night--and a few even said I was one of the best dressed. That's 100% thanks to Lina's amazing work. She truly saved the day, and I'll be forever grateful. (Sharing a few pics here so you can see her magic!) read more

FYI as of 6/30/2023, Lina's new address is: 8961 Sunset Blvd Lina is incredible! So much attention to detail and knows how to creatively solve any sort of fashion emergency! Usually I am in no rush for alterations from Lina but I had an emergency red carpet event that I needed a dress tailored in 1 week and Lina came through! I felt beautiful and comfortable, all thanks to Lina's magic touch. Although I moved across town, I still drive to West Hollywood because I don't allow anyone else to touch my clothes other than Lina. Great prices and great quality of work! read more

I cannot say thank you enough to Lina!!! My mom had gifted me a heavily sequined vintage dress with ostrich feather trim, and it needed to be taken in before I could wear it. She was able to hand sew and tailor it to fit me perfectly! She was so kind to fit me in to her busy schedule and even finished the dress ahead of when I needed it. Lina is absolutely INCREDIBLE. She is an expert at dress alterations. I brought her my untraditional wedding dress and without me saying a word, she knew exactly what needed to be done to make it look perfect and have the best fit possible for my body. Prior to bringing it to Lina, it was so big with so much excess material and did not look flattering. After Lina's work, it was better than I could have envisioned. I would trust her with ANY alteration and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend. read more

This place ROCKS! Lina did amazing work. My wife took her bridesmaid dress to a local alterations lady here in La Mesa. After two weeks and $90, the dress was nowhere near ready!! It had two mismatched straps and was all bunched up at the waist because she took the dress in but not the lining! It made my wife look 20 pounds heavier (her words). So we head up to L.A. the day before the wedding with an incomplete, botched fit. We found Alteration Et Al on Yelp (of course) and headed to West Hollywood. Lina reassured my wife that she could fix all the errors by the following morning (day of wedding) at the same price homegirl back in La Mesa charged. When my wife returned the next morning, the dress looked and fit perfectly. Look good, feel good as they always say. Run, don't walk, to Alterations Et Al the next time you need emergency clothing resuscitation! read more

LINA IS MY FAIRY GODMOTHER! I had a complicated tailoring need and Lina did it better than I could have imagined AND she turned it around in ONE DAY!! I am thrilled to have her number and I will always go to her for tailoring both my basics and my heavily embellished party dresses. She is simply THE BEST!! read more

Best work I've seen in a long time! She practically made me a brand new dress! I am beyond impressed and so pleased with the results! I regret to say I gained weight during the pandemic, and the bridesmaids dress needed to be (practically) doubled in size. She saved me to say the least and I was a lot more comfortable in the bigger dress than I would've been squeezing myself in it. I am very impressed with how quickly she was able to complete the job, and she is the nicest lady! I will absolutely be returning for alterations in the future! read more

I'll never go to anyone else for my alterations. Lina is extremely skilled, efficient, and her prices are very fair. We all know that it's very challenging to find someone who will do a great job for alterations to our clothes especially our nice, expensive items. I can assure you that Lina on 632 Doheny in West Hollywood is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! My boyfriend had expensive 7 and Joe's jeans that he bought in standard cut fit to be made into Boot cut so they would fall over his shoes correctly, shortened, original hemmed and expand the crotch region to be more comfortable. I recommended her after I had an issue from a different alteration place that tried to original hem on my Hudson jeans. Lina did a fantastic job on my boyfriends expensive jeans. He loved the feel and fit!! I know that was tedious tough work and not easy. Currently she may have a small space to do her work in, but her work produces HUGE EXCEPTIONAL AND EXCELLENT RESULTS. Additionally, she is very nice and knowledgeable to deal with and executes on what your needs are. I highly highly recommend Lina as I will be bringing her more clothes to alterate in the future. read more

This is the best find! Lina actually used to be a dressmaker so her skill is unbelievable!! I actually had her remake an entire dress for me, flawless!! She is so professional, fast and reasonable. I wouldn't go anywhere else especially with my really nice clothing! I even have my before and after pics because I was so happy!! Once you go to her you won't need to go anywhere else! read more

Highly, highly recommended. I've gone to Lina for alterations for several years now. She's altered suits, shirts, and jeans for me and dresses for my wife. Lina is a freakin' alterations MASTER. My jenny yoo bridesmaids dress was too long and the style of the bodice had a weird loose hanging midsection that didn't look great and made me look like I had a belly pooch. The length is perfect now and she did amazing work getting rid of the hanging midsection fabric and it's perfectly fitted now. Lina is super friendly and you can tell she really cares about giving you exactly what you want! read more

Found this place on Yelp and decided to check it out since it was walking distance from me. Brought in some pants to be shortened, shorts needing a new zipper, and a leather jacket with holes in the liner. A week later, happily had all articles back to me!! Quick and thorough. Will return. read more

Lina is amazing!!!! I brought in a knitted long sleeve cardigan, fancy, with intricate weaving and pulled through it in multiple locations (drawer and cabinet pulls, door handles etc). I searched for two years w/ that beautiful sweater I wasn't willing to part in the trunk of my car hopeful I'd find a tailor/seamstress who could fix it. Well, I picked it up from Lina last week and was AMAZED AND FLOORED to say the least at the quality work she did and perfection in fixing it. I truly didn't think it was possible to save my dear sweater until I went to Lina. She's a blessing!!!! read more

Lina is a master at her craft and an absolute sweetheart! I showed up to her shop, as a first-time customer, with a pair of rare designer trousers that needed to be taken in at the waist, and returned to me by the next day for an event. Lina was forthright in being able to successfully complete the task, despite her other clients, and kept her word. I am very impressed with the amount of provision and care provided for my garment. Lina is a hidden gem tucked in between the neighborhoods of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. I highly recommend! read more
