I cannot say thank you enough to Lina!!! My mom had gifted me a heavily sequined vintage dress with ostrich feather trim, and it needed to be taken in before I could wear it. She was able to hand sew and tailor it to fit me perfectly! She was so kind to fit me in to her busy schedule and even finished the dress ahead of when I needed it. Her work is truly incredible!

MY FAVORITE tailor. She is the kindest- sweeetest- fair woman! And she is very fast!

Lina is absolutely INCREDIBLE. She is an expert at dress alterations. I brought her my untraditional wedding dress and without me saying a word, she knew exactly what needed to be done to make it look perfect and have the best fit possible for my body. Prior to bringing it to Lina, it was so big with so much excess material and did not look flattering. After Lina's work, it was better than I could have envisioned. I would trust her with ANY alteration and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.

Bomb dress alterations by Lina. Overlooking my hometown on a gorgeous day.

This place ROCKS! Lina did amazing work. My wife took her bridesmaid dress to a local alterations lady here in La Mesa. After two weeks and $90, the dress was nowhere near ready!! It had two mismatched straps and was all bunched up at the waist because she took the dress in but not the lining! It made my wife look 20 pounds heavier (her words). So we head up to L.A. the day before the wedding with an incomplete, botched fit. We found Alteration Et Al on Yelp (of course) and headed to West Hollywood. Lina reassured my wife that she could fix all the errors by the following morning (day of wedding) at the same price homegirl back in La Mesa charged. When my wife returned the next morning, the dress looked and fit perfectly. Look good, feel good as they always say. Run, don't walk, to Alterations Et Al the next time you need emergency clothing resuscitation!

Best work I've seen in a long time! She practically made me a brand new dress! I am beyond impressed and so pleased with the results! I regret to say I gained weight during the pandemic, and the bridesmaids dress needed to be (practically) doubled in size. She saved me to say the least and I was a lot more comfortable in the bigger dress than I would've been squeezing myself in it. I am very impressed with how quickly she was able to complete the job, and she is the nicest lady! I will absolutely be returning for alterations in the future!

This is the before picture of a dress that Lina completely remade for me. I liked the details of the dress but the fitting was horrible

It features a purposefully crinkly texture, and the blend is an odd one. Doing some research, I've noticed both of the fabrics for the jacket require specific care to avoid damage or shrinkage. The liner also features viscose which is also susceptible to shrinkage. And it had that used clothing stench combined with some body odor from the prior owner in the pits area. The dress shirt had a few stains around the collar but some fabric ironing spray stains from a hotel stay. Suffice it to say, both items were needing some TLC but need the right TLC. I gave this spot a go because of the reviews and hoped that they'd accept both items but also handle them with the necessary care. I made a big point about the blend when dropping off, and the guy at the counter kindly took it and asked the cleaner what they could do. After a quick evaluation and pricing, I felt pretty confident they'd do the job. And voila! Not only were both items cleaned of any smell and stains, but they came back in like - new condition. The velvet / velour jacket retained its unique properties while also feeling 10x more soft than when I dropped it off. And the dress shirt was saved from what I feared were unsalvageable stains. They also had the items ready in a little less than 24 hours. It was one the pricier side, but not as crazy as some other spots I checked out. Highly recommend if you have any cherished (but delicate) items you want clean without the worry of them being damaged.

This place is way overpriced!!! $34 for a men's suit. That's insane. But the counter guy was…read morefriendly.

I took my bridesmaid dress here about a month before the wedding. Tried it on, pinned me up, and…read moresaid it would be done in a week (the following Monday). On Monday I started calling to see if they could ship my dress to me (I had last minute travel to Arizona). Every time I called they asked for my name and number and said they would call me back to let me know. I called almost every day that week after my dress was supposed to be ready until finally I decided to send my friend over to just pick it up for me and ship it himself. When he arrived, he was told the dress was not ready. He said they had a question for me before he could start. Mind you, I had called every day- giving them my information, and nobody had any questions for me, and nobody told me my dress hadn't been started. And nobody tried to call me to ask questions. They were waiting for me to show up to pick the dress up to tell me they hadn't started. Unbelievable! At this point, it's about 1 week before the wedding. The owner apologized to me and said they would have it done by Sunday (this was Friday night) and would ship it to me overnight so I would have it by Tuesday for the wedding on Friday. It was shipped a day later than that, so I didn't receive the dress until Thursday! I had to wait in AZ (extending my trip) until it came and missed the rehearsal dinner & welcome party. You guys, this dress was SO simple. It ended up being tight on my body and loose on top so my boobs were a problem the entire time. I've never had an experience like this where something that is normally so easy and simple became an absolute nightmare. Bill ended up being $130. $75 for dress +shipping

I've gone to this tailor multiple times because the location is convenient. He does overcharge, but…read morein the past the work was at least acceptable--so I kept going. That changed with my most recent suit. The alterations were objectively bad. The jacket was visibly lopsided: one sleeve was about an inch longer than the other, one side of the jacket hadn't been taken in at all, and the pants were tapered far too tight. To make matters worse, the elbow seam hadn't even been sewn properly. I had already paid, so when I pointed all this out, I was told to bring the suit back and they'd "take care of it." Fine. Mistakes happen--what matters is how they're handled. When I picked up the suit after the supposed fixes, I was charged again for correcting their own mistakes. That's the real issue here. They do not stand behind their work. If the outcome is wrong, the responsibility is pushed back onto the customer. That's poor craftsmanship paired with poor ethics. You don't pay for an attempt--you pay for a finished result. If a tailor won't honor the quality of their own work, that's a red flag. I'd strongly recommend finding another tailor, and explicitly asking upfront whether they stand behind their alterations. These guys do not.
