This place is amazing! I've been to so many dry cleaners in the neighborhood and never really liked any of them, but then I came here! I needed a dress hemmed for a wedding two days away and they were able to get it done by the next day! They gave me an estimate over the phone and when I got there they had me try on the dress and measured how much it should be hemmed. They found a little tear in the back of the dress that I didn't notice before and offered to fix it for free! I said I would absolutely pay more to have it fixed and they refused to let me pay for it! I worked with Sathya, and she was amazing! I will only be coming here from now on! Went here to dry clean a skirt and have a pair of loose linen pants hemmed at the bottom and the crotch taken in as they were a bit baggy. I get the pants back and the legs were completely too tight. They went from nice baggy pants to pants that didn't even fit anymore. I went back and asked if they could fix them and they said "sorry once it's done it's done" So I am now out $70 pants that I have to re-buy I would not recommend. read more

They tailored a brand new, never worn, silk dress (straps shortened) and tagged the dress (with pins or staples) smack dab in the middle back of the dress, tearing and pulling the fabric. No one proactively mentioned this issue to me at pick up, though the fabric tears are obvious. When I brought it to their attention and requested a refund, they refused to take responsibility and said I could bring it back in for a steam, which would definitely not resolve this. I was recommended to this place by The Black Tux. I dropped off my brand new Lapel Tuxedo Jacket to this place to have it tailored and cleaned. It was this last Sunday 5/8/22 around 3pm. The guy working at the counter told me the alteration would take about a day but dry cleaning would take till Wednesday at 6pm. I had a small amount of my gfs makeup on the right shoulder of the Tuxedo. I was totally fine with waiting till Wednesday knowing that my Tux would look great. I showed up on Wednesday at 6pm to pick up my Tux Jacket. The alteration was done. And they did a good job with that. Super appreciate it. But the Dry Cleaning is wasn't done and it still had my gfs makeup. I asked if he could throw it in the machine now since they had said Wednesday by 6pm. He said that they where completely done for the night and that he would ask the girl working tomorrow to help clean it but couldn't fully confirm for some reason. He said he would text her but also advised for me to give her a call at 9:30am to ask if it could be done. I told him that this was all kinda time sensitive but he couldn't guarantee anything. Instead of calling - I went back to the shop at 9:30am. I told the girl about last night and the guy saying he would text her. She said she never received a text. She pulled down my jacket and said "I don't see a stain." She was definitely right that the stain looked better but it did not look dry cleaned. I'm no expert but it really looked like he cleaned it off with water and a towel. There was tons of white lint all around the spot that had been cleaned with some of the stain still there. Long story short we went in circles about how it was cleaned. She took no ownership of the situation and just like the guy "maybe" it could get re-cleaned by 5pm today. I took it to another Dry Cleaner and we both agreed that he had damaged it with trying to clean it with a towel. Wool frays if you rub it that way. That's the entire point of Dry Cleaning. I am mostly upset because both staffers acted like it wasn't there problem and I could have had it cleaned somewhere else. I am also upset that he damaged my $300 Black Tux jacket by trying to clean it with a towel and passing it off as it had been cleaned by the machine. I've given this place several chances because I like to keep it local, but each time I've been completely let down. First time was my duvet cover which had a few stains - it was pricey and it didn't even look like they attempted to get the stains out. They marked the stains with tape, but the tape was in completely different places once I got it back. Probably because they forgot about the stains and just threw it in the wash. Second time, I had a rip in the armpits of my shirt. I went back, paid for it and then saw there was no attempt to fix the holes. They didn't refund me, but they did take two more days to fix Third time, I brought my white bodysuit with black stains in. All they did was dry clean and press the stains further into the bodysuit. I'm so upset because it was expensive and now I have to bring it to a more reputable dry cleaner to attempt to remove what they have further destroyed. These were easy stains and repairs to fix. This is what they get paid for, and each time they ripped me off. Thankfully, they returned the bodysuit without payment, which is why I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1. I've been a very loyal and longstanding customer despite the times they discolored my white clothes and I had to buy more. I recently noticed that over 1750 worth of clothing was missing and that's just what I looked for so who knows how much more they lost. I called several times and had to speak to the manager. But I'm not reviewing just their superior work, but their wonderful staff (and Manny the most wonderful of them all). This company so much more than a dry cleaner or wash and fold. It is a family business. I don't know or care if a single employee is related to any other. Every person who works cares about each other and the customer; here I even feel like family! Everyone remembers me AND my dog by name. Each person also remembers our last conversations and always follow up with genuine sincerity and kindness. When I ask for an opinion, I get a real opinion and never a sales pitch. If there is any misunderstanding on price or service, I am NEVER questioned and my recollection always treated as the truth, without hesitation or doubt of my honesty (and I know I can't possibly be right everytime). Do not go here and take your business elsewhere. I was referred here by the Black Tux like some other patrons who had similarly bad experiences. I came to Venice Beach Cleaners for alterations on my tuxedo. When I dropped off my tuxedo, the cashier advised me that I could use my 15% off coupon when I picked up the tuxedo. I decided to also have my tuxedo shirt pressed because I tried it on for the measurements for the alterations. I did not ask for the jacket or pants to be pressed. When I came to pick up my tuxedo, the tuxedo (jacket and pants) had white lint and white hairs all over it that were not present when I dropped it off (the tuxedo was brand new, just came out of the box from Black Tux). I asked the cashier if he had a lint brush to wipe off the lint. When I asked for the lint brush, the cashier got agitated and yelled at me saying : "We also pressed your pants and jacket!! That normally costs $18.50!!" I said that's fine but there's now lint all over the jacket and pants. I then tried checking out and using my 15% off coupon. The cashier advised me that he would not honor the coupon because I received the "free press on the jacket and pants." I explained that I did not ask for the press of the jacket and pants and wanted the 15% off to be honored. The cashier proceeded to scream at me saying: "You should be grateful that we pressed your pants and jacket!!!" The cashier did not honor the 15% and I paid the full price. We came in Saturday at 5pm and picked up Sunday 2:30 when they closed. It was considered rush shipping so our one laundry bag 23lbs. was $44. What I was really annoyed at is that they don't give you a laundry bag at first pickup. The lady said they are strict and you must get it done 5 times. That is $220 to get a freaking branded laundry bag that costs $2. This is the first place I ever got wash and fold at this high of a cost and also the first place that didn't give me a laundry bag to take it home in. read more

Whatever you do, don't use this business for alterations. I can't speak to the dry cleaning service, Roberto is considerate and professional so he probably does a good job but his brother who does the alterations is a total flake. I was promised a very important job on a Thursday. Made the trip of 30 minutes on the 10 to pick it up and it wasn't finished. Didn't even remember it was promised. Was supposed to deliver on Saturday. Still not finished. I had to fly back to LA on Sunday to purchase the overlock machine to do the job myself. Called Roberto on Monday and said I have to have the project back finished or not. He called at 1:00 to tell me it was done. I picked it up, went home and inspected it. It wasn't finished and the seams were so poorly sewn, machine tension wasn't adjusted, when installed, they would have fallen apart. It cost me $500, tremendous travel costs and inconveniences, and I had to do the project myself. This guy works with Fabric Planet as well so beware! read more

They have very rude front desk person and almost racist in a way to harass you by implying you are lying about the damages caused to your clothes. Also she said she would have the manager to call and they didn't even bother to call and lied about it again. When they made a mistake they just blame you for not bringing it early enough. I meant I would never expect you to make damages on my clothes at the beginning and they wouldn't do anything to correct it, and most of all, they take "pride" in doing that!!! They are complete scammmers I brought my prada tuxedo here and they initially quoted me at 120 for the cleaning when I returned they tried to bill me a whomping 268 dollars even though I had the ticket that said 120 they tossed it out and said "if you want your prada back you will pay 268".. I've read other similar reviews here, unbelievable the level of a scam these guys are pulling. This is the land of opportunity not a place to con and take advantage of people. It's supposed to be the best and brightest from the world we accept over here, this is disheartening that there is a ongoing con like this going on in our community and there are multiple victims now. I went here for the first time to tailor my suit jacket. The work done was so bad, the first time I wore the jacket it ripped. I brought the jacket back to show them, and they told me they would re-stitch it again free of charge. The tailor did an even worse job. Get the Yelp deal! $10 for $15 and 10% off your entire dry cleaning order. The staff is very friendly and the prices are fair. The only caveat for me was that my socks still had a lot of dog hair stuck to them. Everything else seemed clean. I am amazed by the service I received at this business. My boyfriend recently stained one of my favorite sweaters and I did not have the supplies, nor the patience to try and get the stain out. I ended up driving down Main Street and noticed that this place had recently started business. I came in around 9am and was told that since I came in before 10am, my sweater (as well as other articles of clothing) would be ready later that day! I was surprised because the dry cleaners I usually go to takes 1 to 2 days to complete. AND since I was a first time customer, I received 30% off my visit! I brought in (among other things) two pairs of expensive raw denim jeans for repairs, not cleaning. They came back shrunken. When I let them know they'd shrunken my expensive jeans, they told me "That shouldn't have happened." No kidding. They suggested that I bring them back in to have them stretched back out. That seemed like decent customer service, at least. I was pretty skeptical that would work, but agreed to give it a shot, but when they looked up my account and saw it had been a while since I had picked them up, they retracted the offer. They told me it was my responsibility to try on the jeans as soon as I got them back. Really? The messages here is "Hey, you only asked us to re-stitch a seam, but we could screw up your clothes in a million different ways. Who knows what we could have done -- it's your job to check for for our mistakes when you get them back, and if you don't, well that's on you." Take your business elsewhere. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but I had such a bad experience with Venice Beach Cleaners that I want to warn others to avoid this place. In short, I came in to get a suit altered. The quote for the alteration was relatively expensive but I needed the suit to be ready on short notice. I was assured it would be ready on time. It wasn't. When I took it home and tried it on, I noticed one of the pant legs was noticeably longer than the other. I took the suit back and informed them of the issue. After a couple days I came back and retrieved the suit. Once again, the same issue: one pant leg longer than the other. I returned a third time and once again informed them that the pant leg was still too long. A couple days later I returned, tried the suit on, and the pant leg was still longer; it was very apparent they weren't making any alterations whatsoever. At this point they told me that it wasn't their fault, and that it was my fault because one of my leges was longer than the other. That would be funny if it weren't so annoying, especially because that is a serious medical condition I do not have. This was the fourth time and once again I was assured it would be fixed. The next day I recieved a text that said I was going to be charged extra. In addition, they have misplaced my dress shirts before (in fairness they found them but they nonetheless lost them in the first place.) From a local perspective, this place is convenient but one should consider a) it is very unprofessional and b) they are quite rude when you ask them to do their jobs. In my case I paid top dollar for a very poor alteration. For you, this means you cannot trust them with valuable clothing. In the end, this is a bad business that does not care about its clients. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Not only are they expensive, they treat your clothes poorly from the moment they take possession of them. Took a pair of Madhappy shorts to be dry cleaned because they were wrinkled from a trip. No stains, tears or marks on the shorts when I dropped them off. On the day I was supposed to pick up the shorts and the rest of my items, the shorts were mysteriously not ready. I went back a few days later and the shorts had a tear and a stain on them. Worst dry cleaners I have ever been to. Honestly, it's the only bad dry cleaners I've ever been to. All others have been great or just fine. We dropped off a suit on Tuesday morning and asked to pick it up Wednesday. The guys said after 6pm on Wednesday would be fine. We showed up around 8 on Wednesday and the pants were done but the jacket wasn't. They hadn't even started it. They said to pick it up Thursday after 4pm. This was a big I convince because we had to have it for Friday morning and we were planning on being gone all day on Thursday. So we changed our Thursday plans for this place. We showed up Thursday at 5:30pm and they still didn't have it done. In fact, they said it was across town! They told us to come back at 630pm. We showed back up around 715pm and finally picked up the suit. They didn't charge us for the jacket, but charged us for the pants. After all of that, they should have swallowed the whole cost. Moral of the story, if you actually need something done by a specific time, DO NOT COUNT ON THEM! Just terrible reliability in my experience. They made it a little better by discounting the price, but it still wasn't on time and we had to change out plans. read more

The first issue they "lost" a few of our shirts. Second issue they weren't able to get an easy food stain out of overalls. Boy do I wish I read all these one and two-star reviews before bringing my items in. Recently, I rented a tuxedo from The Black Tux for a wedding, and when I asked about alterations, this establishment was recommended by the staff of the Black Tux on Main Street. When I brought the tux in for alterations, the staff were extremely friendly, and got me measured quickly. The alterations were pretty simple, just a slight, non-permanent shortening of the jacket sleeves and pant legs. I decided to get the tux pressed as well, since it was quite wrinkled from being in the box for so long. The staff even accommodated my condensed timeframe, and agreed to have the tux finished in a day and a half. The alterations + the pressing came to just about $72, which I though was steep, but since I needed this done on short notice, I agreed and left. When I returned to pick up the tux, I was charged $101... when I asked why the price had gone up, I was told that since the jacket was a TUXEDO, which is somehow wider than a normal SUIT, there was an extra $30 added to the job, something the gentleman who measured me the day before had neglected to mention or include on my original ticket. This pissed me off, but since the wedding was the next day, I couldn't afford to have my tux held hostage over $30. All in all, I feel like $101 for 2 simple alterations and a pressing was outrageous, and the fact that the price was raised after the job was done seems shady to me. Don't bring your items here, especially if you are renting from The Black Tux; that $15 credit they give you towards alterations won't put a dent in what these folks charge you. When I told the staff at The Black Tux showroom how much this cost me, they were appalled. I hope they stop sending customers down to these guys, and after seeing so many other Black Tux customer sharing their bad experiences, I'm sure they will. read more

I've never written a review on Yelp, but had to start an account after this absolutely terrible experience at the worst dry cleaner in LA, Venice Beach Cleaners! This was my 3rd time here, and after testing them out with fewer items at first I gave them about 8 button down shirts. They didn't read the tag on a $295 Rag & Bone shirt and completely shrunk and ruined the shirt. I understand that these things can happen, and it's really how they follow-up that is important... well, they basically told me it's my fault, and then offering me $20 store credit as retribution. When I said okay, and tried to use the store credit to pay for the ruined shirt (they made me pay for the ruined shirt) and other shirts they told me it was only valid for the next visit... I had to insist this would be my last visit for them to allow me use the credit. $20 for a $295 dollar shirt that was washed once and ruined? Doesn't seem like the customer service a customer based business should have... On top of that the visit before I was charged $18 for my girlfriends overall's to remove a small spaghetti sauce stain which they charged me for but couldn't get out. With plenty of dry cleaning options in the area, I WOULD NOT SUGGEST GOING HERE AND RISKING ALL OF YOUR CLOTHES BEING RUINED AT YOUR EXPENSE! read more

After going consistently for 2 years for all my dry cleaning needs I needed a rug washed and they offered to do it for $50-75. They offered pickup and delivery as well and a 2 week turnaround on the rug. Sergio (the owner?) is a crook. He lied about every step. Rug wasn't picked up, he refused to drop it off even though he knew the drop off location beforehand. He told me the price was $150 but offered a discount which ended up to be much more than the quoted price. Sergio will tell you what you want to hear on the phone and then just not do anything he promised. Their dry cleaning tended to be subpar but I kept going back because it was close and I wanted to support local businesses. Never again for this place. No reason to deal with this BS. Oh and 1/3 of the rug is still dirty. I'm not dealing with it anymore though. Just not worth the headache with this place. The girl working there is nice at least. I did my best to keep my cool when I called and she had to deal with my frustration with this place. read more

I had gone here for five times with no issues at this time was a whole different situation. I dropped off some down cushions and a rug and they called back today it was supposed to be ready and said it wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. Then they said that the prices for all the things they quoted for cleaning these items had basically went up about $80 on a $135 quote because they took longer than anticipated. I asked them to honor the prices they told me when I dropped them off but they refused. Be very aware that they will take your items and then jack up their prices and not give them back to you until you pay their exorbitant fees. Will never be coming back here read more
