The employees were very nice, but unfortunately my experience with the cleaning itself was extremely disappointing. I brought in a bright white dress, and when I picked it up, the fabric had become noticeably gray and dull. The dress also came back with a new stain that was not there when I dropped it off. I trusted this business with a dress I loved, and now it's no longer wearable. While the staff was pleasant, the quality of the cleaning was not acceptable, and I will not be returning. read more

I brought in my cashmere sweater with small oil stains caused by an oil splash when I was cooking. When I picked my sweater, the stains were still visible, just a little less, and the sweater was fuzzy, not in a good way. The owner wouldn't even give me a discount, I paid full price (over $13) for the inadequate job. I won't be going back. read more

I'm giving 4 stars because I'm a regular customer and something keeps bringing me back (it's probably a 3.5). For real, the front desk guy goes out of his way to help you if you're a regular. I appreciate that. It's an environmentally friendly cleaners but sometimes your clothes have a sort of a dry clean smell. Just a comment, but I digress. They take old coupons that were on the original hanger paper sleeves and according to the window, they still give you some sort of discount, even without the coupons. From a price perspective, it serves me well considering I dry clean all my professional attire often. Good deal and they generally get my clothes looking good. And that's why I wait until I'm in SM to drop off and pickup. It's worth it to me They don't have a plant on premises but they send it down the street to another cleaners (that owner used to own this one too) that has a plant on premises. Final Words: Pretty good for a spot that was a See's Candy when I was a kid. read more

I've come to this cleaning place twice because it was the nearest one to my aunt's house. This cleaners recently changed owners and the new owner is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the person I dealt with prior. The poor reviews for this place definitely reflect the poor behavior of the guy I gave my clothes to previously (he managed to lose my shirts!) however the new owner was incredibly kind and made sure I got everything I ordered in a timely manner. 10/10 recommend this place now! read more

Was looking for a new green dry cleaners because my old one shrunk some of my clothes and decided to check this place out. Took a nice coat of mine for cleaning but also the thing they do where they remove the lint. I could have done it myself with a battery operation lint shaver but thought a professional could do it faster and better. They told me how much it would cost and it was pretty pricey but I thought, "hey it might be worth it!" It was not. The cleaning was fine, but not great, and then the removal of the lint... well, it didn't really happen. It looked like the lint just got combined altogether, swished around and my coat and basically I was left with a coat that, instead of having little balls of lint maybe not that noticeable, had little swaths of congealed lint on it. Now I still have to do the work myself, of removing the lint. I hate it when I pay for a service then end up having to do the work myself. While this place seems to get good reviews from others, I don't know if I'll give it another shot. Probably not. read more

I came in on Sunday to drop off my bridesmaid's dress and told them I was leaving Thursday morning. I was told to come by to pick it up Wednesday evening (today) and when I went they were closed for the Jewish holiday. I am completely astounded that they would not tell me ahead of time that they would be closed and am now going to my best friends wedding without my bridesmaid dress. Been going here for about 5 years. If you purchase something at the nearby Von's they have a coupon on the back for about 30% off. Pros: They are very friendly and they don't give up until a stain is out or its impossible to remove. I have given them clothes that other dry cleaners ignored or shrugged at and they made sure it was out. Also prices (with coupon) are VERY reasonable Con: These guys are not fast. Drop off on Monday and Tuesday and maybe get it back late Friday or Saturday. I used to be frustrated with this but now I am used to it and plan accordingly. read more

-Located outside vons on wilshire with ample street parking -If you shop at vons there is a coupon on the back of your receipt with 25% off laundered shirts and 40% off dry cleaning for Green Tree..this brings down the price so it is comparable with other dry cleaning places in the area -They do a pretty good job with men's and women's clothing, i've used them a bunch now -My issue is how long they wait to make you pick up your clothes. On a regular basis my clothes are usually not ready for 3-5 days which is a lot compared to all the places that do same day or 1 day. read more

They don't have their own parking, so park along the street or at Vons parking may be. When you pick up your order - there are discount coupons for dry cleaning and alterations - 25% and 15%. The time to pick up your order is about 4-5 days, not less. I gave them a number of stuff and I don't have any complaints, pretty good job. Prices for alterations and dry cleaning of silk clothes a little bit higher than I'd pay though. read more

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. I am infuriated and shocked by the grossly substandard customer service I received from this dry cleaner. Not only do they charge more than most other places in the area, but they take much longer in terms of turnaround, and their work isn't thorough..given that they fail to even so much as keep track of customers' expensive items (I will detail this point below). And worst of all, they treat paying customers like me with unadulterated and shameless disrespect. Without apologies. On Sunday, July 27, my boyfriend and I stopped by to drop off a couple of things - my favorite Michael Kors trench coat and a couple of his pairs of slacks. The dry cleaner ensured us that our items would be available for pick up by 5pm on Wednesday 7/30, for Thursday 7/31 morning pick up (I would have to stop by to grab the items on my way into work the next morning). We already thought that was a long amount of time to wait on those items, relative to other dry cleaners, but we just went there anyways because it was conveniently located near our apartment. On Thursday 7/31 in the morning, the dry cleaner only had my boyfriend's slacks and did NOT have my coat. They spent so much time hassling me about not having the coat that I ended up late to work that morning, which they did not care about even though I told them when I came in that I was in a rush and was on my way in to work. I reminded them that they had promised me that the coat would be available by that morning but they said they did not know where it was, or why it was not there, and had no ability to account for it at that time. They did not apologize to me even once for the inconvenience. They just told me to come back again the next day, which is extremely inconvenient because making a 2nd trip there the next morning was just wasting more of my time. All the dry cleaner said to me was "I don't know what to tell you, the coat is not here." No apologies, nothing. I was extremely angered and upset because there was a strong possibility that they completely lost my favorite coat, given that they had no ability to account for where it was. But I paid over $30 for my boyfriend's two pairs of pants and left. I came back again this morning (Friday, 8/1) to come back for my coat. They did have my coat. But the dry cleaner was extremely rude to me and told me that the reason my coat was not ready in time was because it was so filthy that they had to clean it 3 times. He tried to blame ME for his inability to deliver an item in time and inability to account for its whereabouts. I reminded him that he never told me that yesterday, when I asked for a status update on where my coat was. I told him he shouldn't charge me for cleaning that coat because he messed it up and the dry cleaning service and customer service were both completely subpar. He said he would offer me a 5% discount. Which is absolutely nothing. And even after having said that, he STILL charged my credit card IN FULL (no 5% discount) anyways. Charges I am definitely disputing with Amex. Again, this whole time, no apologies at all to me about anything. I sincerely hope they lose ALL of their customers because with the amount of dry cleaners there are in this area, there is no reason why any one of them has earned the right to treat any customer poorly. read more

I recently moved to the Santa Monica area, and did a price comparison of 7 of the dry cleaners near me. Green Tree was one of the ones surveyed, and they fell around the middle in terms of price - not the most expensive (some of the dry cleaners on Montana were shocking), but not the cheapest either - the shop 3 doors up from them on Wilshire, and a few round the corner, cost less. However, they were running a special, so overall their price was going to be cheaper this week, as they were heavily discounting their regular prices. After inspecting the things I wanted dry cleaning very carefully, the guy gave me a quote. When I returned after my price comparison to claim the price he had quoted - another guy had joined him behind the counter, who didn't like the price the first guy had initially quoted me 30 minutes before. I thought at this point, the guy I originally spoke with would explain that he had already given me a price. Instead he stepped up and started saying how he hadn't taken into consideration the lining of the dresses, and how they charge separately for that, so it was all going to cost me much more etc, etc. Let me add that my lining was nothing special, just the regular cheap stuff you see on most dresses, so it was clear that I knew, he knew and the other guy with him knew this was just a ridiculous ruse to extort more money out of me as most other dry cleaners were closing shop at that time. I was thoroughly disgusted, but managed to remain calm, and left with all my items. Fortunately, I was able to catch Lucky Cleaners (where Claire Danes seems to have done her dry cleaning if you believe their signed photo of her), and not only were they happy to do the dry cleaning for me at a good price, they added a further 20% discount for being a new customer. Final Score 1 to me and Lucky Cleaners, 0 to Green Tree and their unfair practices. read more

I am a Resident of Santa Monica For the Past 15 Years. I have been to many Upscale cleaners in the Santa Monica Area with much better service and work. I had The Worst Experience with This Establishment! They Lost My Expensive designer shirt several Month Ago. Went To talk To the Owner Joseph Ebrahimbour To get Reimbursed. Ran Me Around for several Month and offered To pay $30 Total Including The cost Of cleaning. Had To go to small claim Court and File a Claim to get Reimbursed. I got Worst Customer Service and got treated Very Unprofessional. Do Not Take anything Of value There! Flair Or Other cleaners in Santa Monica will give you a Much better Service. Prestige Cleaners up the street is also the same owner. I would be very careful dealing with these people altogether!! read more

This is the WORST DRY CLEANERS IVE EVER USED. They tell me its ready at sometime and it ends up not being ready. Then their sign says MON-FRI 7am-7pm. I have gone in there twice at 7:15am to pick up some clothes because I had zero work clothes yet and no one was there. It wasn't even open. I have already started to tell people to stop going there and I highly recommend you guys do the same. This place is pathetically bad. read more

I have brought my dress shirts and suits on several occasions and they have done a fantastic job each time. In one instance, I needed a shirt dry cleaned within a day and they were able to get the done. The customer service is great and they even dry cleaned one of my dress shirts an additional time on their own dime to get a pesky wine stain out. My elderly mother brought her comforter to this dry cleaner to do a simple dry clean job. She pointed out areas that needed extra attention and received acknowledgement from the representative. The representative also pointed out that there was evidence of "bunching up" of the fabric and the filling. After discussing it, the rep. advised her that their tailor could improve the "bunching up," for an added fee, and Green Tree would take charge of the dry cleaning and the exchange between its tailor. My mom agreed to the idea, but after picking up this rather heavy and bulky comforter(after the "work" had been done), she brought it home only to discover an atrocious job of stitching(where the "bunching up" had been), that resembled a "zig-zag" pattern. It was as if someone had their eyes closed while stitching. The comforter looked better the way it was before, even with the bunching up. To top it off, the areas she had pointed out that needed extra cleaning--those areas were still soiled! When she called to complain about the stitching job, the Green Tree rep. told her to bring it to its tailor herself! What happened to Green Tree's collecting the fee up front and taking charge of the complete job in the beginning! So, now they give an elderly lady the run around and expect her to lug her comforter to Green Tree's tailor!? It is no wonder then, that even with the utmost objectivity, future results could only be met with the dubious expectation that they wouldn't do a better/decent job the second time around. By the way, the name of Green Tree's tailor is: Prestige Cleaner's, 1731 Wilshire Bl, Santa Monica. So, basically it's another 'cleaners!!'
