Vendome Wine & Spirits is your great neighborhood liquor store. They have a great wine and craft beer selection as well as spirits, ice, and other various items. They also have a big selection of cigars in their humidor. They are always helpful and can recommend something if you let them know what you are looking for. They can also place special orders as I will sometimes order a half case or full case of wines that I like a lot. There is usually something on sale being displayed when you walk in. They also offer a discount if you buy three or more bottles. Before Covid, I came here for many years for their weekly wine tastings. For a mere $5 to $10, they would always offer up a great selection of wines to taste. Unfortunately, they haven't had any wine tastings since Covid, but almost everything I know about wine I owe to Vendome and their many years of great tastings. I actually have a file folder that contains a two inch stack of tasting sheets that I kept which go back as far as 2010. Huge selection of rare, cheap, expensive, weird, cool Wines and Liquor. Lots of pictures for this place only show cigars which they have a huge selection of but their alcohol selection will hit a diverse set of needs and is much better than Bevmo, etc... Was on the hunt for a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon as a thank you gift and was blown away by the variety of wines. I found a perfect bottle that had branding that was a hilarious in-joke for the recipient and this was made possible because of the many choices. Straight from the entrance, high up in a locked plexi case, you can see expensive Japanese whiskeys all the way to $500 a bottle. Also great to see Kavalan premium batches of scotch in this case, Japanese Whiskies normally takes all the limelight and Kavalan is my hidden gem that I guess isn't so hidden anymore. Pricing is right on the bottles making it easy, majority of the bottles are dusty and wonder if some of the older ones are properly cared for, rotated, etc... read more

I always pass by this place and wanted to check it out. I started looking around, as they have a pretty big selection. Immediately felt like I was being watched, but I was the only one in the store so I didn't think much of it. I ended up grabbing a can from the fridge and taking it up to the front. I gave the lady my ID, and she scanned it over and over and said it wouldn't scan and she couldn't sell me the alcohol. I told her that I never had an issue with it before and she just shrugged. Like she couldn't just look at my birthday? Not that it should matter but I have a Real ID, the one with the bear with a star in the corner. Never coming back, would not recommend. read more

The first time I went in, I didn't have a positive experience. Lady started to follow me as soon as I worked in, I literally went to the beer section and grabbed a six-pack, and it took me 20 seconds to bring it to the counter. So glad I stopped in at Vendome hoping against hope to find some Fess Parker Frontier Red. Eve at the order desk said she could certainly order it for me!! No minimum. She ordered it up and contacted me that it was in. So so happy. When y came in for it I bought 4 ( super reasonable $$) with a multi bottle discount. She was also able to find a nice red zinfandel with a screw top for my sister that has trouble w/corks. Couldn't ask for better customer service and a great selection. Staff know their products. This has been my go-to place for years. Such an impressive, affordable option when selecting all your needs. I often come in here to perise their bottles of Moscato, the sweet, dessert wine. The selections can range from an affordable $4.99 on up to nearly $30.00 based on age, location, or region for example. I also love stocking up on special event/vacation cigars. I maybe indulge in 2-3 a year, so I love walking in the humidor and inhaling that scent! I usually choose the blue-labeled Blondie, by Acid. It's my favorite and tastes so good on my lips! For a place that prides itself on being one of the best liquor stores in OC, their customer service is an absolute dumpster fire. My fiance and I are a week away from getting married and had placed an order nearly two months ago for a keg of Coors Light and Bud Light. Arguably the two most consumed beers around. We were told that it was not going to be a problem and we would be all set.. Well today we received a call today from the female manager/owner. She proceeded to tell me that they couldn't get any kegs in, but they could try next week. Mind you, my wedding is in 10 days. When I asked what the likelihood of it happening was and how they couldn't have kegs after a 2 month lead time, the manager/owner immediately snapped at me and let me know that if I "don't like it, then take your money back." Well with an attitude like that, why wouldn't I! Too make things even better, when I went in to collect my refund, the cashier said that the same manager/owner would have to process the refund. When they went back to get her, she refused to assist me and would not even offer an apology. Vendome used to be quality and I've always tried to support local small businesses, but this was just too much. Between their ridiculously high prices and abysmal customer service, I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere. Owner/manager Vikki has been my go-to for wine & spirit recommendations for the last 20+ years. Her knowledge is expansive. If I need a gift for a vodka drinker, she'll ask questions and make an appropriate suggestion. When I needed to buy a case of good, but affordable white & red wines, she pointed out exactly what I needed. Though I don't drink (or buy) as much as I used to, she is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Bc of COVID, I haven't shopped in about two years, but I reached out and we arranged a time for me to stop by. She spent 30 minutes (I was in a rush, ha!) asking questions trying to assort the perfect 6-pack of wine to be shipped across the country. Based on the two bottles of wine that the recipients LOVE, she curated a half case of impressive, mid-range reds & whites. Yes, the prices may be a bit higher than large box stores, but I shop here for their selection, knowledge and experience. It definitely feels like I'm with a personal shopper at the Nordstrom's of spirits. Depending on the time, there's plenty of parking in the lot. This is only for the cigar section. My homey works at the butcher place (we shall call him Obama) and he asserts the staff & mgmt is legit. I will say, they have a really cute redhead cashier there. She's uber chill and all that. However there is only one person who has a sense of cigars and that's the owner. It's the first time speaking about good smokes to a women. Whether she's a textbook cigar fanatic due to business interest or not, she's knowledegeable. On Tuesdays, they have buy 2, get one free. This is really good when they have Padron #1-#3 and 80th anni stogies in stock. They would be losing money if that was the case. The humidor appears small but space is well utilized with a plethora of options. Most of the usual suspects are in stock and for a few stogies brands they had them b4 the other areas however, the majority of the time, v-dome is 20-40 days late with new stuff. V-dome also has cigar of the month deals. Sometimes they are great deals like when they had Oliva G series for a couple months. I think cigar people will be shocked how good this place can be but another issue was the humidifier. It can be a bit too moist sometimes which is no bueno. read more

Visiting from out of state and was looking for a particular wine to give as a gift. A Google search led us to believe Vendome would have it so we paid them a visit. The clerk behind the register sent their resident wine expert over to help us and we discovered said requested wine was sold out but after a conversation about the likes/dislikes of the gift recipient, she helped us choose a nice wine. I wish I had caught her name (she was Asian) but she sure seemed to know her wines. After settling on a 2007 Sweetwater Ranch Levendi Cab our sommelier just disappeared without a word. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. David Sanchez is THE BEST! Wine tasting is a must whenever you can fit it in. This is the only place I can find Bitburger 5L mini keg at a reasonable price. They also have a few more Keg selection that I love such as the DogFish Head 90 min IPA 1/6 size keg, perfect for mid-size home party. They have a decent setting for wine, you can find wine at different price range, region, and category. They also have a description tag on some of their recommend wine. It will give you some basic background and taste note on wine that are new to you. I would give them a 5 star if they have more keg selection on Belgium and German beer. read more

Awesome customer service! Definitely will be a regular. The owner typically doesn't give discounts on the red or yellow labeled price tags but he was feeling generous. He mentioned about only getting an hour of sleep because he camped out for a bottle release. I can relate since I recently waited six hours for a pour of Pliny last month. Bought six bombers plus two four packs of Modern Times. Really great place! Small craft area but nicely organized. Hopefully he can expand the craft beer shelves and fridge. :) read more

Always hard to find a good bottle of Japanese Whiskey, more so now that Japanese Whiskey has been getting more and more popular. They have hibiki here. My buddy calls me the Huell Howser of liquor stores...I will stop in the most random liquor store to pick up some obscure beer or spirit. That's my thing! Chang, Xingu, Harbin, Cerveza-Aguila, Zhu Jiang, Mackeson, Cusquena, Prime Max, Imperial, Cristal, Alhambra...yeah, I like imports... He-Brew, Kona, DogFish Head, Che...you get the idea, yeah, I like domestic craft brews as well... Vendome is NOT a liquor store...Vendome is a gourmet liquor market! Quality wine, spirit and beer selection to fit all budgets...heck, you can even pick up wine or beer gift baskets year round! Something for the classy alcoholic in your life... Although there are some good values here, this is not the place to pick up beer for your college party (where you're just drinkin' to get drunk)...If you're looking to pick up a 12, 18 or 30 pack of some cheap macrobrew, you'd be better off going to the nearby Albertsons or Rite-Aid. However, if you are a beer snob, or just want to enjoy your beer, Vendome has everything from classic Belgian ales like Duvel and Chimay to more western flavors like Urthel Hop-it and DogFish Head...want to go further west?, they have Hawaiian Primo Beer as well. I had to come here after Catherine N said that it was the "Hi-Times of North OC." She wasn't joking. Upon walking in, you see that wonderful sign about the student discounts for you college folk- something that I wish I would have known about when I was a CSUF student, I would have definitely taken full advantage of it. Upon entrance, my heart skipped a beat. There was soo much inside in terms of booze. Beer, wine, and hard stuff- all different types, all different colors. I headed over to the beer section to scour the different countries they had. Since I was going to a party that had an Asian theme for food, I decided on a crisp Chinese beer- Yanjing I think it was called. It was quite nice. I'm definitely going to come back to indulge in their Hofbrau Haus and German beers for the fall- they had a huge section devoted to them. They do wine tastings- I would check their calendar for their schedule since I didn't pay much attention. The staff was nice and ready to give recommendations and Jaime P freaked out because they had a wine called Magicale that I guess was only offered at the Disneyland Parks but has been since pulled away. I've never heard of it- then again, I'm not a huge wine drinker. Though it's not as big as Hi-Times, this is definitely a great place to go without making the commute to Costa Mesa. What do you get when you have a place with a great wine selection, awesome and helpful customer service and a wine tasting section? Heaven, duh!! Well if you are into any of the things I mentioned above you have to stop in. This place is located on Yorba Linda right by Albertsons. They have a really refreshing selection compared to any other store I've been to besides total wine. Even then, Vendome had varieties I hadn't even seen before. Obviously I had 4 or 5 I couldn't decide on so I asked one of the associates for help. The guy was super nice and actually had me put all of the choices I had back and he selected one that was half the price. Sean Minor Cab for 13.99. He was very friendly and you can tell he knows his stuff. Well, got home and popped it open and boy was he right. Smooth, strong and slightly dry. Yuuuummeeee! Forget BevMo in Brea. This is where it's at. Let's get straight to the heart of the matter: The Booze: Excellent selection of everything under the sun. From beer & wine to champagne & whiskey, a great tequila selection, and tons of vodkas... Vendome is anything but average. They even carry a ton of stuff that I never see at BevMo, including exotic pale ales and stouts in large champagne bottles, not to mention, they always have great specials going... A Walk-In-Humidor: For cigar lovers, tracking down a spot that won't rip you off when it comes to tobacco is big business. Even bigger business than you'd imagine. Most places' markups are ridiculous and I'll spare you the percentages. Just know that at Vendome, you can grab a good (quality) stick, and at a fair price. If you go on Tuesdays, there's a buy two, get one free deal on cigars, which is right up my alley since I don't know when I'll get the time to come back. Tobbacco selection is still decent. Their prices could be a little bit lower, though. Same goes for the service, they can be on the rude side I guess. Whenever I need a wine, beer, or spirit for an event, whether it's a birthday party or some fancy dinner, all I have to do is tell David the details and he always selects the best possible match. Vendome, is like my liquor Mecca. I've been coming here for a few years now originally just for the wine tasting, but what started out as a little flirtation has turned into a serious relationship. First the wine tastings, they have them weekly, there's usually some kind of theme behind them, and it's a great opportunity to try new wines. Plus after a while, either Vikki or David, will really begin to have a feel for your palate, so they can tip you off if an upcoming tasting will be to your liking or something you can pass on. Second, this place has so much more than wine, they have a great beer selection, which they are also more than happy to give you recommendations on and they have turned me on to more than a few of my favorites, but they'll also host the occasional liquor or cigar tastings nearby. That's another thing, they've got a decent selection in their humidor and there's almost always some kind of cigar special going on to. Now I'll admit, this isn't the place to hit up for liquor that you can buy on sale at your grocery store, obviously the prices won't compare, but it is the place to go if you want some high quality wines, beers, liquors or cigars. read more
