This is a wonderful liquor store. I feel safe bringing my grandpa here for his lotto scratchers. The staff is so warm and friendly to him and I very much appreciate that. I usually go here to purchase drinks for my kids or lotto tickets since it's across the streets. Staff is usually cool but today was a different story. I went in to cash two scratchers and from the start it seemed like the dude who was working was in a bad mood. I handed the tickets to him and he pretty much yanked them from my hand and said "how much?" I stared at him and he asked the same thing even ruder. I was confused so I asked how much what? He made this mocking face and said " how much did you win? I said " I dont remember aren't you scanning them?" He then replied all mad "if it's too much I can't pay you" so I said fine I'll just get the tickets back. He threw them at me and I left. I went to the market across to cash them and the lady said they were already claimed. So when I went back to the liquor to ask the dude if he claimed the tickets he said " oh yea but you had left" I then told him I had left because he had a bad attitude. As soon as I said that he practically started cursing at me and pulled the money from the register, tossed it on the counter and said don't be fuc@$n coming in here with your attitude and pretty much tried to square up with me. Saw a rare tequila I like in stock on DoorDash, which seemed strange. So, I called to confirm, but no answer. Placed an order on door dash for 3 bottles (including the rare tequila) for pickup, and it went through. Sweet! Got there, and the bigger Hispanic guy at the register called me by name before I said anything, and he said they don't have my tequila, but instead of calling me, he said he was waiting for me to show up instead. Shady! I said I called, and he said "that's weird since our phone works" I smell BS..... He gave 2 options: 1- cancel entire order 2- cancel missing item Since I drove out there, it's pretty obvious I would likely take option 2. I asked how to cancel the tequila, and he said call DoorDash. (Not ideal, but okay). So, I call DoorDash for the claim, and after a long hold. they said they can't process because the liquor store didn't complete the order in the system. Of course! So, I call the liquor store again, and still no answer. What a surprise (sarcasm). Then DoorDash emails that my account is deactivated for policy violation. Wth? Basically, gotta spend more time to resolve this all because of the shady liquor store trying to make a sale. Just be honest about your stock. Coulda had a long time customer, but I won't ever be back. For rare bottles, if too good to be true, it probably is. 3-days later: still not resolved, and I see the bottle is still listed as available but for a higher price, and now I see I'm getting overcharged for the two I did take. What a waste of time. TLDR- don't trust the DoorDash stock or the portly Hispanic guy at the register. read more

I have never left a review for a liquor store but just had to share my experience. I came in here for a bottle of water but ended up chatting with the owner about bourbon for about 20 minutes. G&D Liquor is / hidden gem located on Euclid Chapman next to the CVS and across from Stater bro's. G&D hands down is the best liquor store in OC Area! They have a HUGE selection of craft breer, and the " Secret fridge" with the high end beer lol. I've been coming to this liquor store on and off for the last 6 years. When I first started coming here back in 2013/14 They were the first liquor store that I know of that started the "make your own six pack" which was pretty dope because all my friends like their different types of beers (ipas, Belgium's, wheat, sours etc) it made it very convenient for me to buy couple "'make your own six pack" rather than buying 2-3 6packs of different beers. This was when I first used to come to G&D. As of 2020 I've been coming here more consistently and made this "my go to liquor store" and have been treated with nothing but gratitude and appreciation! Never had a bad experience at G&D. S/O to ALAN for being the man!! Alan, ALWAYS greets me when I walk in, ask How my day is going and such. I Appreciate that he actually cares and takes the time to have an actual conversations with me. Its not just Alan, it's everyone that works here, they all are great employees and hold a high standard of customer service ! They actually HELP customers, they care and take their time to answer your questions! That's another reason why I love coming here. I don't have to feel like I'm asking a "dumb question" LOL I've been to many liquor stores in my life and the employees from other liquor stores don't compare to the level of customer service, selection of beer, wine, liquor and the BEST Micheilada cups!!! I have not seen a single liquor store with the selection of beer and micheilada cups. All the other liquor stores I've been too usually only have 1 brand 1 flavor, but G&D has multiple brands and flavors and EVERYTHING you need to make the perfect Micheilada at home! I usually come here 1-2x a week for beer and "El Salchichòn: Pineapple Mango Miche Cups," (they just released a new flavor called FreSandia, it's strawberry watermelon which is also BOMBDOTCOM), it's the perfect pair with "Golden Roads: Mango Cart! I'm a firm believer of supporting local, small, and "mom and pop shops" prior to COVID and even more so now with COVID. especially with Alan! He's the best ! Overall, G&D is a fantastic liquor store with even better customer service! They have the best selection of beer, wine, liquor, Micheilada cups and all the beer and munchie snacks you want! If you want to have a huge selection of liquor to choose from and amazing service G&D is the spot to go! I've sent 4 of my friends here and each had an great experience! It's also convenient that they're open till midnight! If I had to pick a downside it would be the parking lot being pretty small due to being in its own lot next to cvs, but you can always park at cvs. Besides the parking, k cannot think of any other downside. I am seriously disappointed in G&D Liquor after all the great reviews. I called on Saturday they said they'll be getting in 2 cases. Lie #1, it ended up to be 1 case. Basically, on Instagram I was told they would be doing a 1st come 1st serve for Vanilla Bourbon County. I live in Ontario, so my wife and I woke up early to come for it. It ended up to be a raffle, so basically I woke up early for ABSOLUTELY nothing. Lie #2 I called the night before and the worker said they have about 9 Vanillas left. At the store they only had 5 Vanillas and thats why they didnt go with first come first serve. LIE #3. The guy said he had to give the vendor a few bottles to get the vanilla. A box comes with 12, if he had 3 bottles, that leaves 9. Where are the other bottles? Lie #4 I felt like I got up early for absolutely NOTHING. I would give 0 stars if it allowed me. read more

Sold me a fake ELFBAR who knows what dangerous chemicals are in the knock off pretty upset because I thought I had found a good spot with good prices on them and after reporting it to ELFBAR and opening it inside its a fake. never again. Husband works in the near area of the store and purchased a pack of chewing gum off the shelf with an expiration date of February 27 2013. He became ill the day he ate a piece causing stomach discomfort and throwing up. A few days later he came down with the same symptoms soon realizing it was the chewing gum which he looked on package and found the almost 3 year old expiration date. He spoke to owner and he said don't know what to say bro. Really professional way of handling the situation, and offered a refund. What he doesn't realize is that it's not about the 2 dollars which we could care less it that he didn't really care he was selling expired product. read more

This place is mediocre. I bought an ok bottle of Malbec in a pinch before a party. What really drove my rating of this place down is that they have a bottle of Pliny in their Not For Sale case. Y'all know that's supposed to be consumed fresh, right? The guy at the register told me they're saving that up for Black Friday release... It's August right now and who knows how long it's been in there, too. The label on the bottle specifically says "Do not age". LOL. It's not even being kept cold... On another note, my kid bought a Kinder Joy egg and the display case advertised Star Wars toys but it was just some generic boring toy that led to disappointment.
