Coffee was decent and they have a dark mocha which is a plus. Although we're not talking dark mocha like Dilettante's dark mocha but rather a mocha made with chocolate nibs instead of Hershe's syrup. It's good enough to avoid the Hershey's coffee shops but not good enough to go out of your way for. Prices aren't bad being a bit cheaper than the Ladro's of the world. The wifi works well but the environment leaves a lot to be desired. There's two tables with chairs, 4 leather bound easy chairs, a bench with pillows and a bar with barstools. If you want to do work and are lucky enough to get a table then stick around. The leather chairs have no tables and the bench is very uncomfortable. One more thing - Silver Cup is inside the Key Bank building and as such is a modern facility including air conditioning. The way the air works is it blows down the walls making the seats along any of the windows or walls feel a lot like airplane seats with the little overhead fan blowing on you. The service was good and the employees very pleasant. Overall, not a bad place to go but the layout could be better. I suppose most people get their coffee to go. read more

Yumm. I'm glad I gave this place a try! I came by to study and enjoy a great latte -- this place didn't disappoint! I walked in the door to find the perfect coffee shop atmosphere with inviting wood tables and succulents and flowers spread across the shop. They had a good selection of baked goods (I didn't try any but they looked delicious) and mugs for sale. Baristas were friendly, fast, and good at what they do. Coming from a picky coffee drinker: they make good lattes. I'm not in the area often but I will definitely stop in for a latte next time I'm in town! read more

We used to come here every so often when it was Silver Cup, so it was one of our first choices of a new coffee spot. Unfortunately, the service is incredibly slow, the drinks aren't very consistent, and the prices are high for what you get. Been here 3 times. First time, my vanilla latte was perfect, beautiful, with latte art. Yay :) Second time, my vanilla latte was a little too hot but still beautiful. Third time, I ordered a drip in my 12 oz personal cup. It came out to something like a 1.90. Too much for such a small size and in my own clean earth-saving cup. Service has always been awesome and I like the atmosphere, a good place to go with a friend or to do some work. Was craving a pastry today and I saw this place as I drove by. Bought a scone. Once I got to work and opened it up excited to eat it I was very disappointed to see spots of mold. At first I thought it was just the residue from the berries. However upon closer look there were spots of mold where there were no berries. Very sad to voice at five dollars. read more

I am very particular about my iced caramel latte, and I have to say, as soon as I got to work and drank it, I wish I got the biggest size. It was so delicious! Although not on the menu, the barista perfectly understood how to make it, and surpassed my expectations. I love Silver Cup. I have been going there for a couple of years now, and it is consistently awesome. The coffee is delicious, they have a good assortment of pastries and food, and the baristas are always super nice. I love the atmosphere there too, there's a variety of seating options even though it's a small space. It's great for just an in-and-out trip (which is what a lot of the clientele do because it's in the same building as a business center) or to catch up on a book in the comfy chairs. I adore Silver Cup Coffee. The baristas are so awesome at what they do and really sum up what it means to be a barista. They care about both the coffee and they people they serve. My second time ever in Silver Cup was a really rough day. I was in a poo of a mood and honestly just wanted to get in, out, and on with my day. But that was hard to do. The baristas were genuinely kind people and my latte was delicious - perfect sweetness in the milk, silky foam, balanced espresso, and a lovely slowsetta on top. After that, it was impossible for me to stay in a lousy mood. Had I not been rushing to get to an appointment up north, I would've stayed for another and continued enjoying the atmosphere. Needless to say, I am back at least once a week now for a little slice of heaven. Better yet, even when they are super busy with a line heading out the door, the baristas are still friendly and really enjoy what they do. They aren't flustered and panicky, but calm and composed. It is professional and so consistent. About the space - it is clean and not dusted with grounds. They keep their equipment nice and shining, their tables cleared and wiped, and the bar area doesn't look like an unattended toddler on a stool painted with cream and sugar, as I've experienced elsewhere. There is a bar along the window with some tall stools and some low seating as well - plenty of space to work our meet a friend. OH! They also have Little Rae's baked goodies as well as some others. When it isn't sold out, I love the peach passion scone and my son loves the fudgey brownies. read more

I love this coffee shop. I usually stop by on my way home from work, a little after 6pm most days. And with the new hours I'm not able to. I've noticed the coverage has changed as well with the shorter hours. Having one person ringing people up and making coffee at such a busy store seems silly and the line moved a lot faster when two people were working. They all seem to work well together. Not to mention having 1 person in the store after dark seems almost dangerous in this city. Safety in numbers, right? It's a bummer seeing one of my favorite spots change so much and I don't think I'll be able to continue coming here with the new hours. Silver Cup has been a staple coffee shop on Colby for years. I know a few of my friends are disappointed in the changes as well and we all come to this store often. read more
