Background: The week before 4th of July, I needed my rear brakes bled on my mountain bike, as I wanted to ride it in the Oceanside bike parade. The local bike shops near me had no availability, likely because the thousands of other riders in the area, also needed some service before the event. I called Omega, which is about a 20 minute drive for me, and they confirmed they could accommodate me. After putting a lot of road miles on my bike last year, I figured there would be some other items needing to be addressed. Regarding the rear brakes, they said they needed to replace the rear caliper, not just bleed the brakes. Omega then messaged me and said the chain was stretched beyond its service specs, and I approved the replacement. Then came a message saying shifters needed to be degreased, and one adjusted. Also, the rear tire was older and they also recommended replacing it. Cool, approved. Then a call saying the rear cassette should be replaced, as the teeth on it were also worn beyond spec. My $65 brake bleed was now a $400 bill, but again, I put thousands of road miles on it last year, and as this was a high end bike when I bought it 15 or 16 years ago, I'm OK with spending some money on it. Fast forward to picking it up a few days later. I didn't bother test riding it in the parking lot, as I trusted they did that, so I took the front tire off and put it in my hatchback. The next day, I go to ride it for the bike parade, and immediately found that while pedaling, it's making all sorts of grinding noise, and the chain is frequently jumping off the front sprocket. Note, I had no drivetrain issues before bringing it in, it shifted well and always stayed in the gear I put it in. The bike parade was a slow, 5mph ride, all of 7 miles round trip, so I dealt with it. After the holiday weekend, I brought it back to Omega, let them know what was going on, and left it with them. They called and let me know one of the front chainrings was worn, and needed to be replaced. OK, odd that this wasn't noticed while they were doing all of the other drivetrain work, but I approved it, and some new grips to replace my original ones that were getting sticky. I picked up the bike, again removed the front wheel to fit it in my car, and brought it home. Right after pickup, the family took a vacation, so while a few weeks passed, zero miles were put on the bike. The day after I got back in town, I go to ride the bike, and it has the exact same issues as it did when I brought it in the last time! I bring it back to Omega, leave it with them, and they message me later in the day that the rear hub was loose, and that there was a broken chain link (again, this was a brand new chain that they installed 7 miles ago, and they were the only one who touched the rear hub with all the work they did). When I went to pickup the bike, there was no apology, and furthermore, Mark, who I believe is the owner, made comments that the chain was very dirty. I reiterated that the bike had literally been ridden 6 or 7 miles on the road since the first service, when it was replaced, so I'm not sure how that would be. The woman who works the counter also had to chime in with some comment about the chain being dirty as I was walking out. I don't even know what that would have to do with anything as they said the issue was a broken link and lose hub! Reading the other below average reviews shows others have dealt with their rudeness as well. As such, I won't be returning, nor can I recommend this shop.

I checked reviews of other locations and settled on Rev endurance. First time using George and all I can say is that I wish I had found him sooner. This level of quality and customer service is almost impossible to find. I thought there were a few small issues with the bike but George found quite a few things that needed attention and even sent me a video showing me the issues. Called me when the bike was ready and I collected my son from school and drove to collect the bike. Now for the best part of the experience. Normally I go in, pay and leave. This time, George invited both my son and I into his store and went over everything he had work on and repaired. Explained in detail what had needed fixed and explained to us in detail everything about his service. He helped us with tire pressures and saddle position which we adjusted after for my son's benefit It was a great experience overall for both of us and the quality of his work is second to none. And to top it off my sons won his race and also had tie fastest bike time for a junior on the bike course Will not hesitate to use again. You don't find quality like this that often. I came to him because I'm a novice and had a Schwin sitting in my garage with a broken wheel. I am post op 6 weeks on my knee and needed a bike to give me some low impact movement. I wanted to know if it was even worth spending the money on getting it fixed or buying myself a new bike. Upon evaluation, George told me he was able to fix and tune up my bike at a cost that was much less than getting a new one. He kept me updated on shipment of parts and what he was currently working on. His best form of communication is through texts. Not only is George knowledgeable, George is passionate about his job and the people he helps. He made me feel comfortable as a novice biker because he answered my "newbie questions" without judgment or in a pretentious tone. George also explains things in a way that you can understand. He ensures you leave knowing how to care for and enjoy your bike. I'm coming back!!!

I contacted the shop after my 2021 Turbo Levo, with only 500 miles on it, suffered a motor failure. From the start, Michael was extremely helpful. He took the time to walk through the error codes with me over the phone to make sure the diagnosis was accurate, and once we confirmed the issue, he got me in the very same day. Although the bike was out of warranty, Michael and Specialized recognized that a motor failure at such low mileage was premature. They stepped up and offered a goodwill credit to help offset the cost of a full motor replacement. That gesture meant a lot and says a great deal about both the shop and the brand. It showed me that Specialized stands behind its products and that this shop stands behind its customers. Michael took excellent care of both the bike and the entire repair process. I just finished a shakedown ride through Tecolote Canyon, including the climb back out, and the bike felt absolutely brand new. I live in San Diego, and the drive to Carlsbad is not exactly convenient, especially with traffic, but after this experience I can say without hesitation that I will continue making the trip. While I appreciate that Specialized addressed a serious safety issue, the way the recall was handled left us frustrated. The recalled bike posed a risk of serious injury or death through no fault of the customer. Despite this, my mother was required to pay approximately $1,750 to receive a replacement Turbo Vado because there was no comparable replacement option available. It is difficult to understand why customers should have to spend thousands of dollars to replace a two-year-old bike that was recalled due to a manufacturing defect. The process was also slow and lacked clear communication. During the delay, the color she originally wanted sold out, leaving her with fewer choices. Between the unexpected cost, uncertainty, and limited options, the overall experience did not reflect the level of customer service we expected from a company with Specialized's reputation. We have always believed Specialized stood behind its products, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope the company reevaluates how it supports customers affected by major safety recalls so that loyal customers are not left bearing the financial burden of a defect that was beyond their control.
